Atruria

Thomas Lothar, High King of Atruria, stood upon the main balcony that came out of the royal residence, Duren Palace. Dressed in military regalia, Lothar looked down upon the Royal Gardens, crammed with Atrurians of many different ages, ethnicities, and beliefs, to watch the King give his speech.
“Brothers and sisters, fellow Atrurians; I come to you today, not as your ruler, not as your commander, not as your King. I come to you as your fellow citizen and as your comrade. I come to you in both joy and regret. My joy springs from the fact that we have won this war against the communist terrorists, but my regret from that our nation has been desecrated by the violence and destruction that had to occur to defend ourselves from terrorism.
Now we must begin a new age, a new era. Not in the sense that the MRG suggested, but a new era that shall be marked by an enormous task ahead of us, the task of finding what was lost. There shall be a new era, an era of rebuilding and an era of reconstruction. I promise you that I shall dedicate my reign to fixing what has been destroyed in this terrible conflict.
Another thing that has been brought to the forefront by the War is the presence of foreign soldiery in the High Kingdom. We possess both Aequatian and Yallakian military bases in the land. The Yallakian forces have proven their valor, aiding our defense against the forces of communism. Because of this, and that our nation maintains a mandate of protectorate under Yallak, the military of Yallak shall be permitted to retain their bases. The Aequatian forces, however, remained in the High Kingdom, but did not aid us in any way, breaking their promise of defending our nation. Accordingly, all Aequatian military personnel are being expelled from the nation throughout the next month. Their installations shall be assimilated into Atruria’s Royal Army and they shall be. We cannot afford to have unreliable foreign troops on our own soil!
Thank you, my fellow Atrurians, and God bless our nation!”
