ROBOT MAINTENANCE
(please read)
Should an order of yours arrive faulty or not arrive at all, we will refile the order.
All the robots require maintenance as detailed in user manuals. Any technical military expert should be able to perform this; however, if you wish, we can establish a maintenance yard with a small group of staff who will be able to maintain the robots.
Building cost of the Maintenance Yard is $1.5 million. A group of 5 staff, which will provide at least 1 staff member at any given time, costs $600,000 a year in wages. Each additional staff member will cost $120,000 a year in salaries.
Alternatively, if you choose so, your maintenance yard can be changed to an Export Division, which Combatech will use as a dock for exports to nations closer to yours. For the privelige, the building cost will be reduced shall be $1 million and staff shall be provided for no cost.
Thank you for visiting!

Important OOC Stuff!
-The robots are not FT. They're based on real-life military robots that are used by the US Army. Check them out at HowStuffWorks, com (http://science.howstuffworks.com/military-robot.htm).
-Do your own maths. If you don't I will add a 7% surcharge. Also remember to include discounts (ie. Sales, discount prices detailled below). If you do not, I will forget them.
-I'm going to check your defense budget. So don't spend more money than you have. However, I will discount 5% of the price if you have a population under 25 million (please mention this in your order-I will check only if you say so), and discount 10% if you make an order over $100 million. I also reserve the right to give discounts to whoever I want.

ALDAC X – Series II©
(Anti-personnel Landmine Detector and Clearer)
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/military-robot-12.jpg
The ALDAC X has long been a staple product in our line, providing methods of clearing grass or other obstacles, de-mining the land, and safe disposal of explosives. Our scientists here in LA Ice have been continually working on ways of improving this product. Their result? The ALDAC X Series II.
This new series is lighter, allowing for a speed increase of nearly 2 miles per hour over the previous model. We have also upped the range of radio communications to a huge 3 kilometres, and introduced a widescreen LCD screen for the new Linux-based OCU, to support the new heavy-duty widescreen HD cameras.
Perhaps the best feature, however, is the brand-new ability for the ALDAC X to defend itself. It features dual machine guns on either side that can be set to automatically shoot, or shot via the OCU.
It still features all the amazing features from the previous series. About the same size as a small bulldozer, the ALDAC X clears the road ahead of mines and explosives. Not only does it include a minesweeper, it can also be fitted with a mechanical arm to dispose of explosives, and a cutter blade to slice obstacles in the way of a possible raid path.

TALON©
T-SMR20 (Talon Small Mobile Robot 2.0)
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/military-robot-1.jpg
The most advanced military robot in the world for its size. The TALON is perfect for reconnaissance, as it's small, armed, and it has 7 cameras, including 2 infrared night-vision cameras. It can be remotely operated from 1.2 kilometres away, from where you can view every camera on its intuitive OCU. The TALON is also fitted with chemical, radiation and temperature sensors, so that you know how safe it is. It's also our most rugged robot-one of them has been blown up three times, and upon replacement of wiring, cameras and other parts, it still worked.
Want some insurance when you're snooping around? The new TALON features slow-release chemical valves, in which a grenade or small amount of the biological agent of your choice can be placed and slowly ejected into the nearby area. And as with the previous model, an M240/M249 machine gun or a 50 caliber rifle may be connected to the robot for armed reconnaissance.

UAVs – Unmanned Air Vehicles
Frozen Destroyer UAV©
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/predator-8.jpg©
Military commanders use tactics and strategy in combat to inflict as much damage on the enemy while trying to risk as few personnel and resources as possible. This principle was at the heart of the development of the Frozen Destroyer UAV. The Frozen Destroyer can run autonomously, executing simple missions such as reconnaissance on a program, or it can run under the control of a crew. Any video taken from its 2 HD cameras is instantly recorded onto a 180 gigabyte hard disk, which is capable of withstanding 800 Gs of force.
The aircraft can be controlled like an RC airplane-but this is not a toy. This baby features machine guns for air attack and can be fitted with two Hellfire missiles for attacking the ground, and the current model now features a storage compartment that can be instantly dropped to provide food to troops, or to discharge biological & chemical agents quickly. In addition, if you want to control the robot from anywhere, then you can use encrypted satellite to control it from every spot on the globe – even the other side of the world. All in all, if you want to spy on the enemy troops, whilst minimizing casualties, this is the robot for you.
Specs:
Wing Span: 48.7ft (14.84m)
Length: 27ft (8.23m)
Cruise speed: 70kt (129 kilometres per hour)
Engine: Hybrid Rotax 4 cylinder + Lithium battery with 8 hours life

UUVs – Unmanned Underwater Vehicle
Shark UUV©
http://i.timeinc.net/popsci/flat_files/science/sci0403sub_gallery/WLD12_500x375.jpg
Perhaps one of the most difficult types of warfare is naval. You don't know what's underneath you, above you, or near you-you're entirely relying on your radar and periscope. The Shark UUV makes this job much easier.
The Shark can be lowered into water either from a dock or from a boat, and can perform duties such as naval minesweeping, surveillance, and reconnaisance. A semi-submersible, the Shark swims just below the surface, towing a small, Remus-like scanner below it to search for mines. A powerful antenna relays new information back to the ship.
Specs:

Solar Recharge Panels
http://www.ampair.com/homepages/images/pagemaster/P9d.jpg
When you're fighting in the middle of nowhere, you don't always have access to AC power. That's when you need to harness the eternal power of the sun. We provide solar recharge panels for each of our robots, each tailored to a size that can be mounted on the back, providing continuous power, so that they don't get knocked out in the heat of the battle.
$850 per solar panel (please specify which robot(s), so that we provide the correct size panel. 2 solar panels are required for the Frozen Destroyer Aircraft).
Additional Cameras
http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/Full/37659i0.jpg
Sometimes, 1 camera isn't enough. Now you can purchase additional cameras for your Combatech robots, which can be installed easily. They will instantly appear on the robot's control unit. We stock both SVGA (800x600) and HD (1280x720P) resolution cameras, and both models will automatically switch into infrared (night vision) mode after dark. They are suitable for battlefield terrain, and can withstand quite a bit of force.
SVGA camera: $600 each
HD camera: $850 each
Biological & Chemical Agents
CPX™
Varicella simplex
Otherwise known as the chickenpox, this agent can cause pneumonia and death over an elongated period of time. Only contractable once. Causes red dots, which are very itchy, to spread. Highly contagious. Often re-activated later in life causing shingles. Useful in raids of elementary schools or third world countries. Easily vaccinated against.
Cream form: $200 per 350g container
Aerosol form: $550 per 250mL container
Vaccination: $50 per effective dose
Thraxum™
Bacillus anthracis
Other known as anthrax, this agent causes death within a week of infection. It is not contagious between humans, however, it affects livestock violently, and can be spread from livestock to humans. Vaccinations are not easily available except in certain Western military programs. It can be contracted in numerous ways, with the most effective being inhalation, which will cause collapse of the lungs and a near 100% mortality rate, the second most effective being consumption via gastrointestinal track, which will create symptoms as bad as vomiting of blood and severe diarrhea and a 65% mortality rate, and the least effective being cutaneous infection, or contact with skin, which can be easily treated and has an untreated mortality rate of 20%
Aerosol form (recommended for inhalation) - $10,000 per gram
Powder form (particles are too large for inhalation, recommended for consumption) - $8,000 per gram
Cream form (recommended for cutaneous infection) - $6,000 per gram
Vaccination: $2,500 per effective dose
more will be available over the coming weeks!

Thank you, once again, for your interest in our uranium supply. We may sell you our current stockpile of 5,000 tonnes of enriched uranium; but there is obviously another matter on hand.
Our uranium mine in Port Bottletop is strictly prohibited access to non-workers; however, should you pay us, shall we say, a handsome amount; provide your own workers, and let us split the uranium that you mine 50-50, then we will consider letting you into our mine.
Please get in touch ASAP.

Nice storefront. I'd like to buy from you, although, I'm wondering.......
If this is RL tech, and RL designs, why do I need to buy it from you?
Surely it would already be out there? :S
OOC:
Okay, this is as much as I know on the RL topic.
If a design is RL, then it is not considered copyrighted and thus can be produced by any nation. However, if it was designed by another user, it is considered copyrighted.
I have actually changed these designs. They are upgraded from their original specs; if you find their real names and real specs, which can be found at the HowStuffWorks website, you can make poorer versions of them. However, they will be on the whole more expensive to manafacture then it would be to buy them from us, due to mass production, etc.
Remember that our designs are BASED on RL, they're not RL.
Bump & updated; the opening sale is now over.

From:James Tricker, Head of Navies, Northford.
Greetings friend.
Having heard many things about your esteemed products, the Commonwealth has deemed it suitable to make a purchase from you.
Following our Research, it seems the Shark UUV is to be the most suitable product for us. We are presently developing an 'Escort Force' to protect our trade routes, but are presently lacking in the funds to deploy minesweeping ships in such small taskforces, as this would cause a larger financial and manpower footprint than we would presently like.
To that end, I am authorised to release sufficent funds for the purchase of 3,000 Shark UUV's, which will cost 1.2 Billion Universal Standard Dollars.
Considering the scale of such an order, the Commonwealth has also given me mission to enquire whether or not your company would consider having a base on Northford, to help the Navy handle Maintanance of the fleet of Minesweepers.
Please respond with your views.
Regards,
Northford.

Thank you for your order. It has been confirmed and we have recieved the funds. We shall send the items 100 at a time, with each shipment taking roughly 48 hours over the next 6 months.
As for your request to let us build a base in Northford, we shall take it into deep consideration, but first we ask if we will be able to use this as an export base for countries closer to Northford. We shall pay for the building of this portion of the structure.

Greetings, Friend.
First let me thank you for accepting our order. With this message, I am wiring funds to the correct amount. I hope that in time, the trading links between our countries can expand with other orders, possibly from my colleges in the Army, Marines and Airforce.
As for the issue of establishing a base within Northford, I believe I must outline to you the position I myself am in. I am in a civilian position in the Navy, and am head of the many administrational functions that we are involved in. As for my suggestion of establising a base in Northford, it was entirely military related, and would have been (at least partly) funded by us.
That said, Northford has a dynamic market economy, and has few competition laws. While I am not a business lawyer, my knowedge is that you would be perfectly entitled to establish a trading outpost within Northford, without any prior permissions, assuming you go through the standard NOB:ISPI[NNMM](Nob-i-spin) (Northfordian Overseas Business: Investigation; Standard, Primary Investigation [Not Negating Military Material] assesment.
If you are still interested, please contact us.

The Xandabian Ministry of Defence sends their Procurement attaché Colonel Robert Stewart to clarify the position regarding their order. He arrives for a meeting at your offices with an agenda headed
“Loan”
“Evaluation”
“References”
“Delivery”
“I think the first point of misunderstanding we need to clear up right away is that Xandabia is not asking for a loan to cover the purchase of its order, which it can easily afford from its annual defence budget” he informs you (ooc: check against budgetary calculators if you need to)
“What we would like is a loan of equipment, specifically a couple of ALDAC X - Series II units for evaluation purposes. We are not in the business of buying untested equipment and the boys just want to check that the thing actually works and how it might fit into our current force mix” he explains.
“Let me use the analogy of going to buy a car ok? Would you buy a car from a manufacturer you’d never heard of without first having a look at it or taking it for a test drive?”
“Now I am authorised to give you any guarantee you like that any units you supply for evaluation purposes will be returned and will not be used for any other purposes than evaluation and only at designated military ranges. I am sure that if you need any references to our character or whatever that Emperor Puddu of the Puddite Military Arms Storefront (our designated Main Procurement Contractor) would be happy to vouch for us ”
“The final issue I would like to discuss is delivery. We are not satisfied with the current slow rate of delivery and if this is simply a case of shipping or aircraft we would be happy to collect orders in our own heavy-lift transport aircraft or transport ships if this would be of assitance”
The salesman pondered on each question for about ten seconds, then quickly spoke into his manager's ear, who promptly nodded to each suggestion.
"In regards to the first issue, we would be happy to provide you a loan of two ALDAC X SIIs. The period of time will have to be discussed, as well as which accessories you would like to loan for them.
"We do not need references. If you do not return the robots we will disable them from our control panel and advise our export divisions to not resell to you. Should any inappropriate actions occur we will promptly respond with military action.
"As for the delivery issue, we will allow you to provide your own transport for the robots. However, we only recommend a maximum of 5 TALON robots per shipment by air and maximum 15 by sea.
"This is for multiple reasons, but mostly due to liability. We do not want to have to replace robots that have been carelessly fed to the fishes thanks to an overloaded ship or aircraft. This is, of course, the reason we provide shipping ourselves.
"We will simply warn you that we are not an insurance company. We won't replace broken robots unless they have been genuinely found faulty without human error by a military-grade mechanic, upon which we will check ourselves.
"We are willing to discount the price by $50,000 dollars should you provide your own shipping, but keep in mind that there will be no insurance on our part.

“Now you’re talking” booms Colonel Stewart slapping you on the back enthusiastically.
“We would be happy to accept the goods here and inspect them prior to transport. We would not expect any recompense for robots lost or damaged through by us. . .” he pauses “say, do you offer long-term maintenance contracts on these or could we draw up a side contract for a team to come and train our technicians to maintain them?”
“In terms of what we would like to see for the evaluation we are primarily interested in the mine clearance attachment but it would be great to see the cutter and mechanical arm in operation too. We are happy to be flexible on the timing of the trial period but we think a minimum of 6 weeks would be required.”
“As a gesture of goodwill we would like to donate the $50k discount to a local charity of your choice”
OOC: It would be v helpful if you could include stats on how much these robots weigh
"The building cost of an official Combatech Maintenance Yard is $1.5 million. A group of 5 staff, which will provide at least 1 staff member at any given time, costs $600,000 a year in wages. Each additional staff member will cost $120,000 a year in salaries. These staff are experienced and specialize in both military repair and programming, which usually would require two people in a standard military staff.
"We will provide you with three ALDAC X SIIs, each with a full set of accessories, for a period of three months, but feel free to return them and order more at any time.
"The current pricing for your previous order is now $1,295,800,000. We find it very kind of your nation to donate the surplus money to charity. We would like to direct it to the LA Ice division of Youthcare International, a group who provides housing for youth who need constand 24-hour care. They unfortunately end up in nursing homes today."
The salesman quickly took a few brochures from their corporate sales rack and slid them across the table.
OOC: I'd thought that was there... anyway I will add it.

"I've had a chance to talk to my superiors and they have instructed me to sign an agreement for the construction and staffing of an official Combatech mainitenance yard. We would like to retain an option on a second yard depending on the outcome of the Aldac evaluation programme.

Is this storefront still active?
OOC: I haven't been playing NS for some time so this nation got deleted, but I've resurrected it and will still honor any purchases made.
