The Undershi Military

Undershi

The Undershi military is split into five major sections, which are basically self-explanatory:

- Army: Land forces of every variety. (Including the Undershi version of the Marine Core).

- Navy: Submarines, carriers, carrier based air craft, naval warships, transports, and, in time of war, the merchant marine, what little of it that there is.

- Air Force: Fighters, bombers, helicopters, Strategic Bomber Command and so on, plus the many, many, ICBMs and so on of the Undershi "deterance" force.

- Occupation Police: Really, this should be part of the Army, but it isn't - this is the force that is supposed to police and control occupied territories.

- Imperial Internal Security (IIS): This is the "much feared" guys in black - they are in charge of crucifying criminals, dealing with plots, and so on and so forth. Unlike many Security organizations, Imperial Internal Security maintains large military forces, with the intent of being able to "intervene" where they are "needed" - where they want to go, in other words.

Interestingly enough, the Undershi military has two primary cores: Regular and Janissary. The Regular Undershi Army is made up of "True Undershis", who are the genetically altered supermen that run the Undershi Empire.
The Janissaries are "norms" - normal humans who serve the Undershi Empire. While they supposedly can achieve high rank, they rarely do, mostly serving in engineering units, support services and so on - if there is a dirty job to do (digging latrines or trenches, or even acting as a diversionary force, drawing the enemies fire), then they're likely to be doing it.
Janissaries are considered expendable, and make up a small minority of the actual Undershi military, since almost all of the True Undershis (who make up about 25% of the total populace) serve in the military.
(The actual ratio is something like 60% True Undershi, 40% Janissary)
However, while the Janissaries aren't as effective as True Undershis, they are highly trained by the standards of most militaries - they are taken from their families at birth, as some sort of tax, and raised as soldiers, recieving training that is similar to that recieved by Undershis, but less extreme.
All Janissaries are male.
Undershi

The Undershi Empire is led by the Undershi High Command, which is made up of the twenty five most senior True Undershi officers in the Undershi military - they rule the entire Empire as they rule their army, with no civilian control at all.
Everything in the Undershi Empire is part of its expansionistic war effort - every True Undershi is raised from birth to believe that they will conquer the world - it's a matter of centuries, to be sure, but eventually, they will rule the world, with all the norms as their slaves.
The norm populace of the Empire has no rights, and are all "slaves" - although there are four "stages" of slavery.

Stage One occurs just after the occupation - the captive populace is kept like animals in the conquered cities, chained to metal posts set into the ground, made to do heavy labor clearing rubble and rebuilding their cities in the style of the Undershis - dull undecorated concrete in a style similar to that of the German Democratic Republic. Slaves at this stage are given six hours of "free time" (including time to sleep) each night.

Once the rebuilding is under way, Stage Two occurs - the "slaves" are moved into apartments, are allowed to shower and are given eight hours of "free time" (including time to sleep) each day. However, at the begining of this stage, something is done - ten percent of the populace is moved out of the conquered territory, and is dispersed to other territories, which also have their populace dispersed - every territory has some of its populace "disperced" away each year, sent to other areas, so that nationalistic identity eventually fades away.

Then comes Stage Three. In this stage, a real infastructure has been restored, and factories have been built (and resistance, even covert, has all but ceased), and the workers are shifted from heavy manual labor clearing wreakage from the streets to working in the factories, building war material and civilian goods for the Undershi military and themselves, respectively. A monetary system is restored at this stage - the "slaves" are paid for their labor, and are effectively protected from the worst excesses of Imperial Internal Security and the Occupation Police - and have about as much freedom as do citizens in some truly terrible authoritarian states.
When Stage Three is reached, the people are no longer reffered to as slaves - now they are "serfs".

Lastly, there is stage four, which is reached sixty or seventy years after the initial conquest. At this stage, Janissaries are taken, there is some level of self-policing going on, there is a civil service, and some private-sector enterprise exists. Education is available to the norms, and they are trained for every sort of occupation save for government. (Including medicine, engineering and so on.)
Needless to say, the Undershis still control the media and are still the final authority even during a Stage Four occupation.

These are the Territories of The Undershi Empire, along with their various Occupation Stages:

Undershi Proper - Stage Four
Jenshalem - Stage Four
Saint Rynald - Stage Four
Paxton - Stage Four
Northlands - Stage Four
Southlands - Stage Three
The Western Steppe - Stage Four (although almost no population is present, so it's a pretty meaningless designation.)

The average True Undershi infantry man is anything but "average". He is roughly seven feet tall, extremely muscular, quite inteligent, built to super-human specifications (including titanium laced bones that almost never break, super-sturdy fast healing flesh, two hearts with 100% redundancy and other minor modifications...).
As for his gear, that is above the ordinary too:

Armour:

True Undershi Armour: Armour, Infantry, True Undershi:

True Undershi battle armour is a full body suit, powered to increase strength and allow for heavier weight, that also contains a built in computer with a satelite up-link, a full radio communicator, a light and some other minor bits.
True Undershi armour is made of battle steel with some chobham (the stuff used in modern tanks) parts. It is entierly too heavy to be worn or used by a normal human, even with its powered component.

Weapons:

True Undershi Weapons: Primary:

The basic weapon of a True Undershi infantry man is a Gauss rifle, which fires 0.75 caliber ultra-high velocity shells, which are packed with high explosives, so that once they have penetrated armour, which they can do for a good two inches, they then explode with the force of a fragmentation grenade.
The Undershi Gauss rifle has high range and accuracy on semi-automatic, and can be set to semi-auto or fully automatic (in which case it is, obviously, less accurate...)

True Undershi Weapons: Secondaries:

The basic True Undershi soldier carries three secondary weapons: a Gauss pistol (the same as the rifle, except with a smaller magazine and lower range), an anti-tank rocket tube (one use, fires a seeking anti-tank rocket) and a "mob control" weapon, deliberatly less lethal than it could be: a traditional firearm, a sub machine-gun.
Additionally, they carry dozens of fragmentation, incindiary, smoke, HE and anti-tank grenades.

True Undershi Soldiers Psychology:

A True Undershi has a computer built into his head that allows the High Command to monitor his loyalty. Additionally, True Undershis are quite sociopathic - they do not hesitate at all to pull the trigger and take human life, and some seem to enjoy it.
They quite literaly "know no fear", but they are cautious none the less - they also know no rage save that which is intentionally provoked in close combat.

It'll be fun teaching those boys with the titanium bones what a broken leg feels like mind. *grins evil-ly*

Anti-Tank grenades work like regular grenades - they're just built with bigger explosive charges and less "fragmentation" - they aren't as useful as an anti-tank rocket, but they are better against tanks than normal grenades are.

No, that is a rocket launcher, like the bazooka or panzerfaust.
RPG is "Rocket Propelled Grenade" in your translation only.

Official translation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_propelled_grenade)RPG stands for "handheld antitank grenade-launcher" in Russian: Ruchnoy Protivotankovy Granatomyot (Ручной противотанковый гранатомёт, РПГ). The common translation of this, "Rocket-Propelled Grenade" — backformed from the abbreviation RPG — is a common mistranslation, and does not follow correct naming conventions, used by English speaking militaries to describe these weapons.

Another "RPG" (http://www.inert-ord.net/russ02i/rpg43/index.html) Never intended to be used with a rocket motor.

Air Force, Undershi: Helicopter gun-ship:

The Crusader helicopter gun-ship has a crew of six - pilot, co-pilot/missile gunner, left gunner/radio man, right gunner/mechanic and door gunner/radar man.
It is capable of reeeealy high speeds, (300 MPH is the "theoretical" speed limit, but no one ever flies that fast in one of these).
The armament consists of:

Left Pod: One Gauss auto-cannon (Gauss machine-gun, as I've said before, only a high caliber... about .45 caliber gauss automatic), a grenade launcher, which the gunner can set to fire fragmentation (anti-infantry), anti-tank, gas (poison or tear) or incindiary grenades. The grenade launcher, when not being switched, can fire up to 60 times per minute. (They can also be set to semi-automatic fire, with of course a slower rate-of-fire).

Right Pod: Same as the left pod.

Missiles: This helicopter can fire either anti-tank or Air-To-Air missiles, although it only carries four of each.

Door Gun: A Gauss automatic is mounted on the "door", and is used for extra fire power.

Ammunition: The Crusader carries thousands of Gauss rounds, its six missiles, and a total of 600 assorted grenades, in one magazine linked to both launchers.

Role: Close support, obviously, with an additional role of anti-air defense - which it isn't as good at as a dedicated fighter, obviously, but is still fine for a helicopter. It can also carry up to five additional passangers, so is sometimes used for medical evacuations and supply drops.

Note: This helicopter gun-ship is big. It's slightly larger than the average helicopter gun-ship, and has about the same armour as most other nation's helicopters do. It is capable of some long-range actions, and each carried a radar system of its own.
These helicopters are also used for border defense, in a role similar to that normally taken by air craft with radar systems - they can spot incoming planes and so on quite well.

OOC: quite large you say? compared to US military gunships it must be HUGE. TO carry that much armament and specialised equipment is a bit silly IMO, because the thingis so large it wont be all that manouverable, and a single fighter will hammer it to shreds. And keeping one of those flying would cost about twice what it would cost to maintain two apache longbows which could each do just as good a job at everything but CAS. And they'd survive longer at that too, as their improved manouverability means they stand a chance against kinetic AA weapons. But yes, it would provide a versatile and effective weapons platform, and any infantry or armoured units without good AA support would get demolished very quickly by it.
Undershi
20-06-2006, 04:01
Yeah, it would go down quickly to AA support, but then again, these things are mostly used against guys who have spears as the standard-issue weapons for their armies... or, against beaten enemies already on the run... or as border security.
For everything else, there's the Thunderer... or another helicopter, the Paladin, which I'll give you specks on soon.

The Shrike Self-Deploying Mine was designed to facilitate faster mining of a large area - basically, it's a landmine that can be deployed rather readily across a large area through the use of special shells or bombs - a sort-of high-tech variant of canister shot, really.
They are guarenteed to land the right way up (at least most of the time) due to a gyro-mechanism built into its interior. This raises the cost-per-unit slightly, but it isn't that expensive even then, when one factors in the time saved by combat engineering units.
The mine itself is nothing special - merely an ordinary heavy anti-infantry, light anti-tank (enough explosives to take out a light tank, easily enough triggered so as to be usable against infantry).
It is proximity-triggered by major movement, or triggered by a powerful enough touch once it has "deployed" (hit the ground and "realized" it) (this would require a tank in most cases).
To add to the difficulty in disabling it, the entire thing is barbed, with the barbs deploying after the mine is "launched" from the shell.
In appearence it is fairly circular, with small spike (less than two inches) sticking out of it so that it is impossible to grasp - not so that they cover the entire thing, though. These things are small as anti-tank mines go, but are packed with high-tech high explosives, so can get a bigger explosion than old-style ones would get.

(Note: This is based off a real-world theoretical design - except for the barbs...)

(Secondary Note: These things are reeeally light for anti-tank use - they're technically rated for such use, but aren't really much use against armour - they'd have to get really lucky to do much more than wreak a tread - and even then, they'd have to be lucky to do that much... still, they are a nuissance, and even power armoured infantry need to be careful.)

The Paladin Light Attack Gun-Ship is a light-flyer, capable of quite high speeds and quite good manuverability. It was designed by the same firm (Undershi Arms) which designed the Crusader, and it is built to fulfill the other half of a helicopters role, that which the hulking Crusader cannot hope to fulfill.
It carries the same missile armament as does the Crusader, but instead of two weapons pods and a door-gun, it has only one - albeit a heavier one, one with two Gauss autos and a grenade launcher - which has a smaller magazine than the Crusader has, one that contains only 300 grenades - although none of them are gas of either variety - only frag, anti-tank and incidiary.
The Paladin has a crew of three - pilot, co-pilot/radio man, and gunner (missiles and pod).
Out of every wing (five gun-ships), one is a Command Model, which means that it carries a radar as well, in exchange for which it sacrifices some ammunition for its Gauss-autos and grenade launcher - plus two of its anti-tank or two of its anti-air missiles - whichever seem less likely to be relevant due to the mission profile.
The gunner of that Command Model is also the commander of the wing, and holds the rank of Lieutenant.

OOC: fair enough on the chopper front, but even that last one has to be a bit big compared to say the apache longbow? But hey, big heavy weapons platforms is the way RL is going, and NS navys do it all the time, so why not.

Every single True Undershi is a member of the military, as part of a program similar to the Swiss or Israeli one. They all serve for at least two years as an enlisted soldier, a regular solider, when they're 18-20.
The rest of the army, that which isn't made up of those conscripts (although they would go willingly), is made up of career soldiers. The conscripts form "Second Line" units when they have recently been trained, but are later absorbed into the "real" Undershi military. During this time, almost every single Undershi sees deployment in a combat zone.
Once their two years are done, they are still required to report for training every weekend. (They are formed into units by which housing section they are in, and train with their neighbors). They also are "called up" for more active courses for two weeks every two years.
While they are part of the militia, they constantly are armed - an average Undershi family would have mom and dad's Gauss rifles in crates under the bed, with ammunition, and think nothing of it. They also have uniforms (which they wear during their civilian lives as well - Undershi is all about its military), body armour and even some grenades.
When a war or revolt breaks out, the local Lieutenant (in charge of all the militia in a certain area) opens the armory and distributes extra ammo, anti-tank weaponry, Gauss-autos, mortars and so on - most Regions even have a few light vehicles.

Note: Basically, think of them as a different version of the US National Guard - they're about as well equipped (better, since Undershi tech is partially PMT), and a bit better trained. (But not much - they have other things on their minds than remembering all the old drills.)

The Air Infantry are a group of helicopter-based elite infantry, who are highly trained in counter-insurgency operations, and who are all veterans of the nasty guerilla war that is going on in the southern territories.
They are extremely skilled at hunting down small groups of infiltrators, and also at killing them.
As such, during a "real" war, they will likely encounter opposition from enemy elite units - for that reason, they are also quite capable of taking on a similarly sized mechanized or armoured unit - they have power armour like any Undershi, and carry extra heavy weapons, to make up for their shortage of heavy ground support.

Variants On Typical Gear:

The average Air Infantryman carries a standard True Undershi kit, except:

- Extra Gauss ammo: Due to their highly independant nature, the average Air Infantry man carries quite a bit of extra ammo. (Including grenades).

- Modified Mapping Program: Every True Undershi solider has a computer in their power armour with a mapping program in it. These guys just have a much more sophisticated mapping program, which they make good use of.

- Extra Heavy Weapons: A normal Undershi squad carries, in addition to their individual weapons, a light mortar, a Gauss-auto (Gauss machinegun), a shoulder-launched SAM launcher kit, and a shoulder-launched AT missile launcher kit.
The Air Infantry carry all of that, plus another AT launcher kit and another light mortar.

- Personal Kit: An average True Undershi soldier carries some personal possessions. An Air Infantry man doesn't. Other than his necessary kit, all he carried (other than food, water and supplies), are two objects:

- Air Infantry knife: This is a vicious little serrated blade, eight inches long, a good weapon in a hand-to-hand fight. It is also the symbol of the Air Infantry, and as such is considered almost sacred.

- The Undershi Empire, a small, light-weight, copy of a book that every Undershi school child reads in the academic classes at their boarding boot-camps. It, rather than the bible, is the Undershi sacred book - it was written by one of the original scientist-dictators who created the True Undershi race.
It speaks of the Undershis being given to inherit the earth... as such, it is a good book to read if you want to understand traditional Undershi motivations.

The Undershi Shore-Defense Bunker, which is also used inland but maintains the name even then, is a dome-shaped bunker, made of concrete which is heavily reinforced with chobham under-wiring and steel support collumns.
The bunker is protected by a CIWS, which consists of four little turreted chain guns placed at the four "corners" of the circular bunker, as well as by a SAM launcher, which is built into the ceiling of the bunker.
Close in defense is provided by a series of fully automated Gauss-autos and automatic grenade launchers, which are set up with overlapping fields of fire, so that any infantry attack would be costly. These "sentry guns" are remotely controlled by a computer in the bunker, althoug the soldiers there can give the guns instructions if they want to.
In terms of long range offensive weapons, this bunker has one short to medium range missile launcher that is controlled by one of the bunker's defenders, and has a rate of fire of, technically, fifteen times per minute, from an auto-loading box magazine of five that can be reloaded in about twenty seconds.
The bunker is defended by either a single twelve man team of True Undershis or a fifty man platoon of Janissaries.

Undershi navy vessels follow an unusual naming pattern, which will be explained here:

Carriers are named after famous philosophers - mostly these are western philosophers, but the Confucius. the pride of the East Pacific Fleet, is named after an eastern philosopher - appropriatly enough...
Cruisers and destroyers are named after conquerors and explorers - Bismarck, Napoleon, Cortez, Pizaro and so on all have ships named after them.
Transport ships are named after historical land battles - the Gettysburg, the Kursk, and so on.
Submarines are named after aquatic species - preferably carnivorous species, but there is a submarine called the Anglefish, amoung other "interesting" names.

It may seem a little weird that the organization responsible for spying and the like has such a name as "Imperial Internal Security", but such naming-innacuracies are common - truth be told, the IIS used to be merely an Internal security organization until, sevral decades ago, there was an internal schism within the Undershi Empire, one that led to a covert war - Imperial External Security sided with the losing side, while Imperial Internal Security sided with the winners.
Since then, there has only been one Undershi Inteligence organization - the IIS. Think of it as the IRS, the FBI, the CIA, the Gestapo and the SS, all rolled into one...
(After all, it does furnish elite combat troops, like the SS did...)

Following the IIS coup, some changes have occured within the Undershi military and its command structure.
First of all, 'the High Command', while it still officially runs things, has been reduced to a purely military role, where it is in charge of only the non-IIS military units. The IIS itself now controls the non-military aspects of the Undershi state, as well as the elite IIS combat units.
Secondly, IIS officers have been assigned as 'political officers' to all units, with orders to shoot any officers behaving 'cowardly' or with too much compassion for the norms... basically, they're there to enforce a return to the "bad old days" from before the rise of the liberal faction... which seems to have been fairly well supressed by the conservatives.

The IIS is tasked, in addition to its security duties, with providing elite combat units. These units are refered to as IIS units, and are considered to be an elite within the Undershi Army. However, the very best soldiers are the IIS Storm Troopers, who are the best soldiers in the already elite Undershi Army.
That much anyone who knows anything about the Undershi Empire knows, but here is a list of the IIS and IIS Storm Trooper units (and where they were assigned to following the end of the war):

Note: IIS units begin with the 101st, rather than the 1st.

Armoured Units:

- The 112nd IIS Division (Saint Rynald City)
- The 113rd IIS Division (Training camp in northern Undershi)
- The 114th IIS Division (The Southlands)

- The 117th IIS Division (Undershi City)
- The 118th IIS Division (The Aesonic territories)
- The 119th IIS Division (The Southlands)

Mechanized Units:

- The 101st IIS Division (Undershi City)
- The 102nd IIS Division (Camp Locke, Western Undershi)
- The 103rd IIS Division (Training camp in northern Undershi)
- The 104th IIS Division (Camp Hobbes, southern Saint Rynald)

Mountain Infantry Units:

- The 105th IIS Division (Training camp in southern Undershi)
- The 106th IIS Division (Southern Undershi coast)

Infantry Units:

- The 107th IIS Division (Undershi Zone in Danteri)
- The 108th IIS Division (Southlands)
- The 109th IIS Division (Undershi City)

Airborn Units:

- The 110th IIS Division (Southlands)
- The 111th IIS Division (Undershi Zone in Danteri)

IIS Storm Trooper Units:

- The 120th IIS Division - The 1st Storm Trooper Division (Preparing to spear-head the next invasion, in the Southlands)
- The 121st IIS Division - The 2nd Storm Trooper Division (Camp Osterlund on the eastern fronteir of the Empire)
- The 122nd IIS Division - The 3rd Storm Trooper Division (Camp Darwin, Southlands)

- Air Force: Ten million, not counting naval pilots.

- Navy: Forteen million, counting Armsmen and naval pilots.

The Undershi military has commissioned a new transport air cradt for use by Undershi Air Infantry units - the Arctic Finch class VTOL transport.
This craft features enough capacity in its rear-access hold for twelve men and their equippment, or, if converted to cargo carrying mode, quite a bit of cargo. (Conversion from Transport mode to Cargo mode can be done fairly easily, and can be reversed easily enough as well - it basically ammounts to pulling out one set of impact webbing and putting another in - the transport was built for that, with attatchment points like those on airline seatbelts).

The Arctic Finch VTOL transport is lightly armoured, and features four weapon positions - one automatic RPG launcher under each of its short, stubby, wings, with a Gauss chain gun in the nose of the craft and a light Gauss auto as a door gunner weapon.

The Arctic Finch has a crew of four - one pilot, one co-pilot, one gunner/navigator (door gunner) and one gunner for the main guns.

In terms of ammunition for its weapons, the Arctic Finch travels light, with only a few dozen RPGs for its wing launchers (which have linked targeting and fire one at a time) and a few thousand rounds each (interchangable) for the door gun and the nose gun.

The Arctic Finch is set to enter full scale service with the Undershi military at (quote from an Undershi Ministry of Defense spokesman) "some time before the next war". It will replace the old fashioned modified Chinook helicopters that were being used as transport helicopters by the Undershi Air Force.

The suit of powered battle armour used by True Undershi soldiers in the Undershi Army is fairly simple: a chobham reinforced steel suit, with electronic motors to assist movement.
The surface of the suit is done over in a dull grey, with unit designations, individual serial numbers, rank and so on painted onto the metal. Some degree of customisation of the individual armour is allowed - for example, painting a shark mouth onto the helmet would be allowed, but painting the entire thing purple wouldn't. IIS troops wear black armour.
The helmet of the suit covers the entire head, and attatches to the suit, allowing intake of air through a heavily filtered breathing passage - think of it as a gas mask, although the suit also carries up to two hours worth of air, which allow it to even operate underwater, above certain pressures. The helmet also provides the user with a built in, self-adjusting, night vision system. The helmet also contains the display unit for the suit computer, although the main processors and the interface are located elsewhere.
Other interesting features of the armour include a built-in version of standard webbing - this system can hold the standard kit I already mentioned. Additionally, a straw linked to the suits water supply is in place within the helmet, allowing the soldier easy access to water without removing his helmet (the water is stored within the suit, not the helmet).
Other than those features, the one most of interest is that every suit has a GPS system built into it, along with a pretty good computer, with a sort-of keyboard type interface located on the left arm of the suit.

The 121st IIS division, one of the three elite IIS Storm Trooper divisions, has been shifted from its base at Camp Osterlund to the heavy transport Trafalgar, which is now en-route to The Free Land of The Khornate Tribes, where it will take part in the Intervention.
Following behind it are no less than eleven divisions of True Undershi Army soldiers, with armoured support, artillery, combat engineering elements and air support.
The air support will be provided by the carrier Nietzsche and its Thunderer fighter-bombers, while three cruisers of the fleet will escort the heavy transports.
This represents the largest overseas deployent of Undershi troops since the end of the NSAA War.

Following the recent decision to deploy Undershi troops to New Ausha and TWSP, the following units have been moved around:

- 120th IIS Storm Trooper Division - Currently taking part in the invasion of TWSP.

- The 122nd IIS Storm Trooper Division - Currently taking part in the invasion of New Ausha.

Please note that yes, combined with the deployment of the 121st IIS Storm Trooper Division to The Khornate Tribes, all three of the IIS Storm Trooper elite units have been deployed overseas - leaving only the regular IIS and the Imperial Undershi Army to oppose the Bomand Empire's invasion. Still, that should be enough...

The true fighting elite of the Undershi Empire, the IIS Storm Troopers are divided into three Divisions each of ten thousand fighting men. The Division as a whole is commanded by an IIS Colonel, with an IIS Lt. Colonel as his second in command. The Division is split into 10 battalions, each of 1,000 men, each of which is divided into ten Sections of 100 men, each of which is composed of ten squads of 10 men.
Each of the battalions is commanded by an IIS Major, each Section by as IIS Lieutenant and each squad by a Sergeant of the IIS.
The First Battalion is largely a supporting element, consisting of the mortar teams, the Unit Commander, the Communications Section... and so on. Normally, the First Battalion hangs back in battle and avoids situations where the commander might be in danger... although IIS Commanders, especially IIS Storm Trooper commanders, have a reputation for leading from the front.
The First Section of each battalion contains its IIS Major - who, unlike majors and other senior officers in nearly every other service, and in all other units of the Undershi military other than the Storm Trooper units, carries a rifle and fights alongside his men.
Please note that the IIS uses a supposedly different rank system from the regular Undershi Army - although in practice they just add "IIS" in front of every rank then say that any IIS Commissioned officer ranks as a Regular Army Commissioned officer of one rank higher.
The typical IIS Storm Trooper unit is supported by 150 IIS Drake MBTs, 800 IIS Viper IFVs and a large selection of mortars - 100 light mortars spread out one to a standatd Section, plus a specialised Mortar Section in the First battalion, which has thirty heavy mortars.

The Undershi Empire maintains a stockpile of Weapons of Mass Destruction. The primary portion of this stockpile is made up of nuclear tipped ICBMs located within the heart of Undershi proper, and capable of hitting any location in any part of the globe.
A smaller portion of the Undershi stockpile of WMDs in terms of mega-tonnage, but a larger part in terms of sheer numbers are the Tactical nuclear bombs designed to be carried by the Thunderer fighter-bombers. These warheads are designed intentionally to be as dirty as possible, in order that the radiation might interfere with enemies radar and other sensors.
Another major portion of the Undershi WMD stockpile is made up of various chemical weapons - mostly gasses, primarily a mixture of nerve gasses, including both VX gas and Sarin gas, as well as such old-fashioned standbys as Mustard Gas and so on. These chemical weapons are used more often than nuclear weapons are used, but still not very often.
The Undershi Empire posseses no Biological weapons, is not producing Biological weapons, is not researching Biological weapons and does not desire Biological weapons... at least such is their official story, and they're open about their atomic weapons and their chemical weapons...

The Undershi military has recently declared war on the anti-Blackhelm alliance. To show their support, a significant naval force is being assembled to convey four IIS divisions - three of IIS infantry, and one of IIS armour. Additionally, the Undershi Pacific Fleet is being massed... a sign that the Undershi are serious about their pro-Blackhelm stance.

The three IIS units that are being dedicated are:

- The 113th IIS Armoured Division
- The 107th IIS Infantry Division
- The 108th IIS Infantry Division

These units have, between them:

- 1,300 Drake MBTs
- 2,400 Viper IFVs
- 30,000 infantry men with power armour, heavy weapons, etc.
- 375 pieces of heavy artillery.

That fleet is now on its way towards TWSP, with 12 carriers, 40 cruisers, 84 destroyers, 85 supply and support ships (armed only with light CIWS), ten submarines and eight heavy transports, each carrying a division of regular Army soldiers. (80,000 men in all).

The Undershi military has announced plans for a new generation of support gunships - the current generation consists of the Crusader and Paladin helicopter gunships.
This new generation of close-support aircraft will likely be based not on the helicopter, but rather on the VTOL - the concept has been proven with the Arctic Finch transport VTOL, so the High Command seems eager to adopt it for use with gunships.
More information to follow soon.

Undershi Convoy Escorts:

For small convoys carrying civilian goods (Five or fewer ships):

- 1 destroyer
- Some light air support (in the form of a Crusader mk. II VTOL gun ship and maybe some scrambled fighters/fighter-bombers/bombers from either nearby carrier groups or nearby land bases).

For Low-End of Medium Convoys (Six to ten ships):

- Two destroyers
- Some light air support (in the form of two Crusader mk. II VTOL gun ships and the same sort of possibly scrambled air craft from nearby bases)
- Maybe one submarine.

For Medium Convoys (Eleven to fifteen ships):

- Four destroyers
- One cruiser
- Some light air support (four Crusader mk. II VTOL gun ships and, once more, possibly some air craft scrambled from a nearby base)
- Maybe one submarine

For High-End of Medium Convoys (Sixteen to twenty five ships):

- Ten destroyers
- Three cruisers
- Air Support: Ten Crusader mk. II VTOL gun ships, on-call air support from nearby bases (which will be at least partially in the air at any given moment).
- Almost certainly one submarine

For Large Convoys (Twenty six civilian ships or more):

- Twelve destroyers
- Five cruisers
- Air Support: Golden Eagle heavy bombers in the air over the convoy at all times, with Lightning fighters for escorts. Plus: 12 Crusader mk. II VTOL gun ships. (And more air support "on call").
- You can bet there will be at least one submarine.

For Military Supply Convoys:

- One destroyer for every two supply ships
- One cruiser for every five supply ships
- Carriers might be employed for escort duty in a few rare cases.

Undershi Commerce Raiding Patrols:

Submarine Based:

- Two or three Undershi submarines

Surface Based:

- Two destroyers or one cruiser and one destroyer

Notes on Undershi Commerce Raiding Groups:

Standard procedure for Undershi commerce raiders is to avoid engaging enemy military forces if possible, and to target for destruction any unguarded civilian shipping under a hostile flag that they can find.

A state of War is considered to exist between the Undershi Empire and the following nations:

- The People's Freedom: Unrestriced, all-out warfare, including long-range bombardment of their urban centers and unrestricted Commerce Raiding against their civilian shipping. However, the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction has not occured as of yet.

- Hataria: A state of unrestricted, all-out warfare currently exists between the Undershi Empire and the Hatarian government. So far, the Undershis have not conducted bombardments of their urban areas, but such actions have not been ruled out. WMD usage is currently not being debated in this situation. Commerce Raiding, however, is considered to be in effect against Hatarian shipping.

- The World Soviet Party: A state of unrestricted, all-out, war exists between the Undershi Empire and The World Soviet Party. All options up to and, for now, excluding, WMD usage are under consideration at this time.

- New Ausha: The High Command of The Undershi Empire has declared that a state of War exists between the Undershi Empire and the government of New Ausha. This means that all civilian vessels flying the flag of New Ausha are to be considered fair game for Undershi commerce raiding squadrons.

- All other members of the anti-CA Alliance: A state of war exists between the Undershi Empire and all member nations of the Anti-CA alliance. This means that their naval vessels will be engaged on sight, and that their civilian shipping is to be considered fair game for Undershi Commerce Raiding squadrons.
Undershi

Under the Undershi Rules of War, any civilian vessels under the flag of a nation with which the Undershi Empire is considered to be in a state of War is considered to be fair game for Undershi Commerce Raiding squadrons.

This means:

- Should the commander of the Commerce Raiding squadron so decide, ships designated as being fair game may be attacked.
- Naval vessels escorting those convoys may be attacked without warning.
- However, unarmed civilian vessels under the flag of a hostile nation are to be given a warning, and are to be allowed an oppertunity for surrender before hostile action will be taken against them.
- Should the crew of the targeted civilian vessel under a hostile flag decide to surrender, they will be allowed to leave their vessel in whatever life boats it might have before the Undershi Commerce Raiders sink that vessel.
- Should the Commander of the Commerce Raiding squadron deem that the civilian crew is taking an excesive ammount of time in leaving their vessel, he may, at his own discretion, order the destruction of the concerned vessel before its crew has left.
- Should the crew decide not to surrender, the Commerce Raiding squadron may fire a Warning Shot (defined as a "near miss" against the targeted vessel).
- Once that Warning Shot has been fired, the Commerce Raiders should again call upon the crew to surrender. If the crew does not, the Commerce Raiding squardron is to consider itself under orders to sink the hostile-flag civilian vessel concerned.
- Should the vessel be sunk, the Undershi Commerce Raiders are to be considered under orders that they should, so long as their own safety is not placed in risk, endevour to rescue as many of the survivors from the civilian crew as they possibly can.

Concerning Q-Ships:

- The Undershi military defines a "Q-Ship" as: "A military vessel delibrately made to seem to be an unarmed civilian vessel, or a civilian vessel that has been armed for use against hostile naval vessels" and considers the use of Q-Ships to be a violation of the Rules of War.
- Should a Q-Ship be spotted, it will be sunk without warning.
- Any survivors from the sinking of a known Q-Ship are to be considered War Criminals, and therefore, are not considered to be subject to the Rules of War as they concern the treatment of POWs or Civilian Detainees.

Once the Civilian Sailors Have Been Secured:

- Once the civilian crew members of a hostile-flag civilian vessel have been taken into custody and their vessel sunk, the Commerce Raiding squadron is to be considered under orders to return to port and dispose of prisoners as follows:
- Any and all members of a hostile nations armed forces (including Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force or any other branch that might exist) are to be turned over to Undershi Army authorities for internment in a proper POW camp.
- Any and all members of a hostile nations merchant marine, or any and all hostile-nation civilians taken as prisoners are to be turned over to appropriate Undershi Army authorities, to be held until they can be exchanged, in order of capture, for any Undershi civilian internees or POWs that might be taken.
- Any and all crew members of a known Q-Ship, reguardless of whether or not they belonged to that nations Armed Forces, are to be considered War Criminals and are to be turned over to the IIS at the first oppertunity, where they will be held until they can be tried.

Apendicies:

- Rules of War concerning War Criminals - Sub-Section on Crew Members of known Q-Ships:
- Any Officers of the Q-Ship's crew are to be tried under Section 42A of the Undershi Rules of War. If found guilty of Serving As An Officer Aboard a Q-Ship, they are to be sentenced accoardingly - the penalty is Death by Crucificion.
- Any Enlisted Men of the Q-Ship's crew are to be tried under Section 42B of the Undershi Rules of War. If found guilty of Serving As An Enlisted Man Aboard a Q-Ship, they are to sentences accoardingly - the penalty is Death by Firing Squad.
- Any Civilian members of the Q-Ship's crew are to tried under both Section 42C of the Undershi Rules of War and Section 81. The charges will be:
For Section 42C: Serving As a Civilian Crewman of a Q-Ship and, for Section 81: Acting Against Members of the Undershi Armed Forces While Out of Uniform
The penalties are:
For Section 42C: The Guilty Party, once found guilty, will be given a choice - an oath to never take up arms against the Undershi Empire again or Death by Firing Squad. Should the Guilty Party chose the first option, they will be marked down in Undershi records, branded on the neck with the letters "QSCC" (Q-Ship Civilian Crewman), then added to the queue of Civilian Internees waiting to be exchanged.
For Section 81: If found guilty, the Guilty Party is to be treated under the lightest punishments found under the law: they are to be flogged (Ten lashes) and then branded on the forehead with the letters "CP" (Civilian Partisan) and is then to be added to the queue of civilian internees awaiting exchange.

Please note that if any branded individuals are ever found to have acted against the Undershi in any manner what so ever (including enlisting in that nation's Armed Forces) they will be considered War Criminals, and if captured, will be sentenced to Death by Impaling.

- One pintle Gauss-auto (6mm automatic rail gun)

Engine:

The engine used for the Anaconda Self-Propelled gun is an Undershi Arms mk. IX engine, such as is used for the Viper IFV. This engine gives the Anaconda a maximum speed of only 35 mph, due to the weight of its massive gun and that of its armour.

- The Mk. I Undershi Arms "Python" Towed Field Gun:

The Undershi Arms Mk. I "Python" Towed Field gun is the standard field artillery unit employed by the Undershi military. It is based on a Howitzer design, and is not self-propelled - rather, it relies on either a Viper IFV or an Ox hauler to move from place to place.

Dimensions:

- Weight: 7,150 kilo-grams
- Length: 12 meters
- Height: 3 meters
- Width: 3 meters

Crew:

- Commander
- Gunner
- 1st Assistant Gunner
- 2nd Assistant Gunner
- Head Loader
- 1st Assistant Loader
- 2nd Assistant Loader

Armour:

- Frontal: 10mm neo-chobham "face shield"

Dimensions:

- Weight: 24,760 kilo-grams
- Length: 7.5 meters
- Width: 3 meters
- Height: 2.6 meters undeployed, 6 meters fully deployed

Crew:

- Commander
- Driver
- Gunner
- Assistant Gunner/Loader

Armour:

- Front/Sides/Rear: None (well, slightly more than your average civilian car...)

Primary Armament:

- Mk. I MLRS: Fires off rockets equivelent in explosive charge to a 230mm artillery shell. (Its missiles can be guided in to their targets)

- Range: 45 kilometers

Secondary Armament:

The secondary armament for the Gryphon is:

- One Light Gauss-auto (4mm automatic rail gun), with firing position on passangers side, for the use of the commander.
- All members of the vehicle crew are equipped with standard-issue Gauss rifles.

Engine:

The Gryphon uses the standardized Ox Hauler engine, which lets it move at up to 55 mph.

Seeing the need for a highly mobile Anti-Aircraft platform, the Undershi Ministry of Defense has begun employing a new variant of the Gryphon MLRS. This is the Hipogryph AAMLRS - a mobile SAM platform.
Instead of fulfilling a rocket artillery role such as is fulfilled by the Gryphon, the Hipogryph carried SAMs, which it deploy against enemy air units. Rate-of-fire for the Hipogryph is apporximately one-and-one-quarter that of the Gryphon, as the SAM missiles are slightly smaller.
The Hipogryph is meant to be an ultra-mobile weapons platform, one that can be used to counter enemy helicopters, fighters and bombers. Already, several factories are converting to produce the new design - it is schedualed to enter full-scale production and deployment in a matter of months.

The Undershi Military uses several varieties of Infantry Support Weapons. These include:

- 20mm assault cannon: Generally only employed by True Undershi units in full power armour, the 20mm cannon is a deadly weapon, refered to jokingly as a "super-heavy machinegun." Most True Undershi units employ either a 20mm auto-cannon or a Heavy Gauss-auto for each squad. (Although Airborn units deploy only one for every two squads, and tend to favor the 20mm over the Heavy Gauss-auto due to weight concerns).

- Heavy Gauss-auto: The heavy gauss auto is effectively an automatic 6mm rail gun. This weapon is most often employed as a sort-of modern "anti-tank rifle," although it (along with standard Undershi Army Gauss rifles) fulfills an anti-power armour role. This weapon is favored by mechanized units, where its weight is not a concern, although other units employ it as well. The only units to generally not employ Heavy Gauss-autos are Airborn units.

- Light Gauss-auto: The Light Gauss-auto is a 4mm automatic rail gun, used as a close-quarters weapon against the enemy - its main advantage over the standard Undershi Army Gauss rifle is that it has a larger magazine with larger ammunition (120 4mm bolts, as opposed to 30 3mm bolts), and a greater rate-of-fire. These advantages are, of course, balanced out by the greater weight of this weapon, as opposed to the regular rifle.

- Grenade Launchers: All Undershi Army rifles have underslung grenade launchers. This can allow a standard infantry unit to unleash a devestating and unexpected barrage of either anti-personel or anti-tank grenades.

- Flame Throwers: The Undershi army does not employ flame-throwers as standard support weapons, prefering to instead rely on longer ranged weapons. However, some Occupation Police and IIS units use flame throwers, primarily as Terror weapons, to cause fear and panic amoung the poorly trained insurgents they generally face.

The Ox Utility Hauler is the "workhorse" of the Undershi military - it is not used anywhere near combat, but it is the most numerous Undershi vehicle - these un-inspiring trucks carry supplies for the Undershi military, act as ambulences and also tow Undershi artillery pieces.
The Ox Utility Hauler has a crew of two.
Many Ox Utility Haulers are employed in the civilian area, due to the militarized nature of the Undershi economy.

In preperations for the oncoming war with Yallak, the Undershi Empire has called up all of its Reserves, and has put its economy on War mode. Hundreds of new MBTs and IFVs are being turned out every day, along with scores of fighters and bombers.
Massive numbers of norm workers are being conscripted into the Jannissary Core to form new units meant to take over occupation duties, and free up True Undershis for the fight against Yallak.
Undershi Strategic Command has been put on full alert, but has announced that it does not plan to deply WMDs in the foreseeable future. After that... well, that remains to be seen.

The standard Undershi prefabricated Shore Defense bunker is a great design, one which, with their inter-connected network of tunnels and supporting weapons emplacements, dominates the defense of any shore that the Undershis have held for any length of time, sometimes the Undershis need to defend shores they have only recently acquired.
When that is the case, they make use of the following tactics:

- Anaconda SP Artillery and Gryphon MLRS batteries: These mobile artillery units are used as rapid-reaction forces, moving to center on a landing zone for an effective defense.

- Emplaced Guns: Python 135mm Towed Field Guns are generally emplaced along the shore, along with lighter Rattlesnake rapid fire 88mm AT guns. These guns are generally sited in large artillery pits, fortified with sandbags and razor wire, and are usually supported by infantry with 20mm cannons, Heavy Gauss-autos and other anti-personel weapons. These defenses are put into place at suspected landing zones - any good landing site will be defended.

- Mines: Of course, not every inch of shore can be properly defended with gun emplacements. As such, the Undershi military employs a policy of randomly seeding the shore with anti-shipping and anti-personel mines. Most of these are removed when a heavier defense is put into place... but inevitably, a few years down the line, some hapless child at play has a leg blown off, or is killed... the Undershi High Command considers such occurences acceptable, when they consider the savings such methods allow. If the enemy hits a mined area, mobile artillery will be moved into position as quickly as is possible, followed by mechanized infantry and armour.

That's Undershi shore defense with little preperation.

The Undershi Arms Mk. I Viper Infantry Fighting Vehicle:

The Undershi Arms Mk. I Viper IFV is the basis of several variant designs. The primary model is (PMT - MT version available upon request):

Undershi Army Mk. I Viper IFV Model A:

- Main Gun: 88mm turret mounted Gauss cannon

- Secondary Weapons: Coxial, Remote Controlled Pintle and Fixed Frontal Gauss-autos.

- Armour: The Undershi Arms Mk. I Viper IFV uses neo-chobham reinforced armour. This material is one of the most effective armour alloys out there. The Viper's well sloped profile carries a full 65 millimeters of armour, of which 45 is Chobham on its frontal facing, 45 on each side, of which 25 is Chobham, and 20 on the rear, of which 5 is Chobham.

- Engine: The Viper IFV uses a diesel engine, which is good for two reasons - one, it resists burning more effectively than gasoline engines and two it increases fuel milage. The engine design varies with the variant, but the A variant uses a high powered engine that allows speeds of up to 45 mph.

- Transport Capacity: The A variant is primarily an infantry support/transport variant, as befits its IFV label. As such, it can carry eight soldiers, along with its crew of four.

- Crew:
- Commander
- Turret Gunner
- Driver/Fixed Forward machinegun gunner
- Loader/mechanic/radio man

The Viper uses an auto-loader system, which frees up the loader for his other duties - namely radio operation.

- Extras: The Viper Mk. I IFV Model A has several interesting features:
- Radio: Every Viper is outfitted with a radio, allowing for superior coordination of movement and action.
- Weapons lockers: The seats in the transport section of the Viper double as weapons lockers, allowing for the storage of arms and supplies for the soldiers being carried therein.
- Medical Kit Mount: Emphasising the care given to each individual soldier in the Undershi Military, the Viper IFV has a special mount for a medical kit, located in the transport area in a readily accessible location.
- Pintle Mounted Gauss-auto and Remote Control: The pintle mounted machine gun allows the Viper crew that much extra fire-power, which is good... however, if one fires the pintle mount, one normally does so from an exposed position. Therefore, that problem has been solved - the pintle mount can be controlled and fired remotely from the safety of the armoured interior of the Viper.

Other variants exist, such as one built for an anti-tank role which sacrifices some transport capacity for the added fire-power of a 105mm Gauss cannon, and a Scout variant, which forgoes the 88mm Gauss cannon in favor of an automatic grenade launcher and a much high speed.

The Rattlesnake 88mm cannon fulfills an interesting role in the Undershi military. It is a Towed Field Gun, and has the following stats:

The Rattlesnake 88mm Towed Field Gun:

Weight: 5,750 lbs
Length: 10.5 meters
Width: 3 meters
Height: 3 meters

Crew:

- Commander
- Gunner
- Assistant Gunner
- Loader
- Assistant Loader

Armour:

- Frontal: 10mm neo-chobham "face shield"

- RHAe: 20mm vs. kinetic weapons, 50mm vs. HEAT weapons
Side/Rear: None

Primary Armament:

- 88mm Rattlesnake Automatic Cannon (capable of standard indirect fire, direct fire and anti-aircraft fire)

Secondary Armament:

- None (although the crew are all armed with standard Gauss rifles)

The 88mm Rattlesnake Automatic Cannon:

This cannon uses a five shell magazine, which it can fire off in ten seconds. This makes the Rattlesnake one of the most effective artillery pieces out there, at least as far as rate-of-fire is concerned. Of course, this gun isn't very effective against armour, since it's only an 88mm.

The Undershi Navy has formed a new Naval Squadron, to be designated 42B, from the Undershi Home Fleet. This squadron 42B is set to consist of all four of the battleships which remain in service in the Undershi Navy. These are the:

- The Undershi

- The Defiant

- The Aleksander Miller

- and The Gomez Valley.

The battleship Aleksander Miller will be the command ship of this naval squadron, as it is named after the current Undershi Leader.
In addition to these four massive battleships, the squadron will consist of sixteen destroyers, which will be used as escort ships, to protect the vulnerable battleships.

The Undershi Empire, apparently spurred on by recent events in TWSP, has decided to begin the design phase for an entire new generation of fighters, to replace the aging Lightning design, the specifications of which appear to have been compromised by TWSP following the crash of an Undershi fighter, the wreakage of which was recovered by the TWSP military.

The Lightningbolt interceptor is built on the same basic design as the Lightning interceptor was, bu8t with a few major changes.
First of all, a new design has been put into place, one which will allow the Lightningbolt to exceed Mach 2. The maximum speed of the new Lightningbolt is set to be 1,800 MPH, 200 MPH faster than the Lightning design.
The only other major changes, other than some classified ones in the Lightningbolt's stealth technology, will be in the armament.
The Lightning featured two 20mm auto-cannons, as well as a load-out of 12 Air-to-Air missiles. It possessed no usable ground-attack weaponry, beyond the possibility of slowing dramatically and strafing. This was, of course, extremely inefficient.
Therefore, changes have been made. The new design possesses only one 20mm auto-cannon, but also carries a different, superior, missile load. Instead of only twelve standardized Air-to-Air missiles, the Lightningbolt will carry a variety of speciallized munitions. These newly developed munitions will include:
- UA-AMRAAM Mk. I (Undershi Arms Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile Mark One)
- UA-ASRAAM Mk. I (Undershi Arms Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile Mark One)
- UA-AMRAGM Mk. I (Undershi Arms Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Ground Missile Mark One)

Standard load-outs for opperations against enemy aircraft will be 12 UA-AMRAAMs and two UA-ASRAAMs.
Load-out for scouting and attacking targets of oppertunity will be eight UA-AMRAAMs, two ASRAAMs and a pair of UA-AMRAGMs.
Load-outs for ground attack missions have been discussed, but since the Thunderer fighter-bomber currently fills the role of light ground-attack craft, no decision has been made. So far.

The Undershi military has decided to expand on its policy of 'defensive offense' through the development of a "mobile fortress" capable of destroying enemy MBTs and aircraft at once. The result of that program is the Undershi Arms Mk. I Dragon.

Stats:

Armament:
- Main Gun: 500mm Direct/Indirect Fire Cannon
- Secondary Weaponry: (x2) CIWS pod, Light SAM Launcher, twin-linked co-axial Heavy Gauss-autos, remote-controlled pintle-mounted Heavy Gauss-auto, twin-linked hull-mounted Heavy Gauss-autos, anti-personel directional mines.

Armour:
- Frontal: 250mm of neo-chobham
- Sides: 150mm of neo-chobham
- Rear/Top: 50mm of neo-chobham

Engine: The Undershi Arms Dragon Assualt Gun uses a pair of diesel engines which were designed to be used to power an Undershi Navy destroyer. Even with its heavy armour, this gives it a maximum speed of only 30 mph.

Crew (8):
- Commander
- Radio Operator/Mechanic
- Gunner (Main Gun)
- 1st Assistant Gunner (Main Gun)
- 2nd Assistant Gunner (SAM Battery)
- 3rd Assistant Gunner (CIWS)
- Driver
- Assistant Driver (also controls hull mounted weapons)

Variants: Only two variants of the Dragon Assault Gun exist - the Standard (described) and the Fire Support variant. The Fire Support variant has exchanged its massive 500mm gun and its light SAM battery for four 135mm howitzers.

Note: The Dragon Assault Gun is sealed against gas or biological warfare attacks, and is capable of surviving imersion in up to twenty meters of water.

Here is a list of Undershi small arms for MT RP-ing, since obviously gauss weapons are out for MT RPs.

Pistols:

Undershi Arms Mk. I Pistol: A revolver, with five chambers. Fires .45 caliber ammunition. Used from 1884 until 1914. Some Occupation Police units still make use of the Mk. I Pistol, although since 1914 it has not been issued officially to any Undershi military unit. An export version of this weapon is still being produced, and can be easily acquired by any interested parties.

Stats:

Metal construction, cross-hatching on the grip.
Five chambered revolver.
Inaccurate at range, but does feature pistol sights.
Uses .45 caliber ammunition.

Undershi Arms Mk. II Pistol: Semi-automatic machine-tooled weapon. Loads via a magazine in the grip. Entered service in 1914, although some units persisted in using Mk. I pistols until as late as 1918. This weapon remained the primary issue weapon for quite a while, until as late as 1938 for Undershi units, and as late as 1942 for Janissary units. Examples of this weapon can still be found fairly easily, as it has remained a popular weapon amoung True Undershis for target shooting.

Stats:

Machine tooled metal construction, rubber sheath on grip.
Seven round magazine.
Inaccurate at range, although fairly good accuracy for a pistol. Features pistol sights.
Uses 9mm ammunition.

Undershi Arms Mk. III Pistol: Issued to True Undershi units in 1938-1939 as part of the general updating of weapons. Janissary units recieved their updated weapons towards the end of the Second World War. This weapon was considered to be of good quality, and remained in service until 1960, when all units recieved Mk. IVs. Used in the Southlands. This was the first pistol to follow the move towards standardization and adopt the 10mm ammunition now favored by most Undershi weapons.

Stats:

Stamped metal construction
Seven round magazine
Less accurate than the Mk. II, but still features pistol sights
Uses 10mm ammunition.

Undershi Arms Mk. IV pistol: Issued in 1960, remained in service until 1984. This weapon was pretty much an updated version of the Mk. III, a streamlined and modified weapon. The Mk. IV had as one of its advantages its durability - it was very hard to damage a Mk. IV pistol beyond repair. The Mk. IV remains in use as a sidearm for officers in Undershi Landing Divisions.

Stats:

Stamped metal construction
Seven round magazine
Slighly improved accuracy over the Mk. III, features pistol sights
Uses 10mm ammuntion

Undershi Arms Mk. V pistol: Issued in 1984, it still remains in use today. This 10mm pistol is semi-automatic, but uses a 10mm bullet, so is still dangerous. This weapon is, along with a rifle, standard issue for all True Undershi soldiers, as well as for corporals, sergeants and officers in Janissary units.

Stats:

Stamped metal construction
Nine round magazine
Features pistol sights
Uses 10mm ammunition
