The Religious Order [FT Semi-Open Intro]

The Religious Order

The Knights of the Vash Order's troops lined the square in the centre of the monolithic town which spanned over half of the world, dominated by the political centre, and more importantly the central temple. The concrete boxed in its citizens, living under the government and fear of religion, huge concrete buildings grew daily from the ground and blocked out the blood red sky above.

The world itself was vast, harsh and desolate, hot all over with little sign of life apart from the citizens themselves. The landscape was marred with a hint of death, made apparent by the carrion creatures roaming the landscape feeding on the deceased. Such animals were feared by the general populace, hoping they themselves would not turn into their next meal. Such fear arose that a religious sect emerged which killed people during the night and dragged them out to keep such creatures happy. Now the main enemy of The Religious Order, the government and everything executive, it is largely non-existant, but some small pockets exist. These are routed out by The Religous Order and destroyed with extreme and deadly force.

Such is the power of The Religious Order it's guards have become military and police, all of which are deeply religious; its higher members are the most religious and usually religious leaders; the citizens are forced to be aligned under such religion or face heavy penalties; sacrifice for the Gods is made law; and there is slight resentment for 'the misguided', or non believers. The misguided are treated harshly, usually fatally. Those outside of The Religious Order's sphere of influence are merely preached to and advised to change ways.

At the height of government orders are passed down, religious minded and actively enforced by the Knights of the Religious Order, protectorate and everything of The Religious Order.

It was a new dawn, the huge space fleet was now assembled and drifting between out in space awaiting the last ships. The sheer size of the force was uncomprehensible, visible from the ground if you could strain your neck to see beyond the buildings. It was for the sole purpose of increasing the sphere of influence The Religious Order had.

The troops within the huge square were armed and ready, their swords were by their sides and seemingly ancient armour, inscribed with various designs and equipped with a central 'rune plate', worn. They were perfectly still and praying for success in their mission.

The Gods would deliver them success and give them immense strength for their task they were to undertake. The new age had begun, the age of space travel.

OOC: Is this is fleet mean to colonize new worlds, convert other peoples, conquer the people who do not practice your religion, or some combination of what I just stated?

OOC: Sorry, but that post seemed to me to be a pisstake of sorts, and against good RP rules. Im guessing neither of those were intentional?

OOC: Just reading over my post, seems I didnt make that clear. Sorry for that. Its a convert mission, with non compliance perhaps (not definetly) resulting in military force. Interpret that how you will, Ill accept pretty much anything to get an RP going. Bit rusty on the RP front after a year or two, but Im back!

Also, just to ask did you use to rp on these forums? And if you did do you remember my Eternals?

As well, if you want a good place for a war of conversion here is a thread that you might be interested in: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=11047055

Just to give you some advice it will be better to start off with good relations with the other rpers and first target the galaxy’s native population for conversion, but if you like quite a few of the other rpers will probably allow you to peacefully convert a number of their peoples.

"My Lord, we have just learned of a planet that kicked out its goverment and replaced it with a church controlled sect." Said the Dictator's aid.

"Hahahahahahaha! What fools. There are no god or gods. Lets test their faith. Send a ship to their system to fire on the planet and if their god saves them, then we will leave them alone." The Dictator said.

"Yes my Lord."

"We have received orders to jump to this system." The ship's XO pointed to a place on the map. "We are to fire on the planet with our main turbolasers!"
She said with shock.

"Its our orders. We must do it."

The Devastation jumped to the coorinates that were specifed in the orders.

OOC: Please note, the 'church' as you phrased it (although not true) is the government, and it has always been this way. However, if this was propaganda of some sort internally within your government, fine.

IC:

The fleet, bearly born from the depths of the planet, was not only new but clean and prone for immediate action. The shiny plates glimmered with the light of the three suns surrounding the planet, making them a clear target. However, shields were up and running, weapons prone, making sure all systems were working. If an attack was made now, it would be their last the command were sure.

The Devastation was spotted almost instantly. Battleships moved towards it slowly and sluggishly, other ships pulling back to safety as ordered. The whole launch could go wrong now. "Prepare for our first combat. Contact them."

Coversation was opened and the following message was sent in all known dialects.

"We are The Religious Order Fleet #001. We ask for your intentions and warn you we are armed and ready for combat. Any offensive action will be acted upon. Warning, we are armed and ready for combat."

Three of the large ships moved towards the new arrival, others soon to follow. They moved in on three sides.

Reports, briefings, espionage, more briefings and more espionage littered the desk of COMPNOR Fist defender Malaxis. Forced to rummage through the almost endless line of data pads and screen work the lowly administrative assistant was tasked with deciding what deserved to be passed up and what didn't.

The Galactic Empire vast in its space and territory commands a spacefleet almost infinite in its glory; the resources available so great that the command chain demands a literal army of bureaucrats. It is this one administrative soldier that happened upon one of the more insecure reports.

"Unknown alien task force encroaching upon Imperial Plotted Space. Advise situation to be monitored." There of course was more data than this, however Malaxis often skipped the more nit picking parts of the information, instead he elected for a more hands on situation. Pushing down his thumbprint on the right hand side of the pad, he passed the information up into the command chain........

Imperial Star Destroyer Relentless

Captain Maric had been deployed to oversee the encroachment upon Imperial Territory in South Sector Three. Just passing the desolated system of Laim the Imperial warship was slowly descending out of Hyperspace velocities, her engine core being cut off from the reactors vast store of power. "We are approaching the designated coordinates captain." A small voice rose from the command pit. Giving a quick nod of appreciation Maric quickly glazed over his orders.

Establish technological rating of this species.
Establish their goals.
Establish their military potency.
If they are a threat call in reinforcements for cleansing.
If they are inferior subjugate them.

A simple five point list that was vague in all of its directives, Maric was sure that he couldn't botch this one up; at least not after the disaster at Kuat.

Outside the streamlined starlines trickled down to a stellar pause as the Relentless reverted back into real space.

"Unknown signatures on scopes Admiral."

"Rebellion?"

"Their ships do not match their configuation captain, shall we open a communication?"

Marics eyes peered into the depths of space; the Relentless to far away for any visible signs of activity. "Wait here for now, order all crews to man the guns." A round of nods followed from the subordinates as Marics orders were quickly enacted. The Imperial Star Destroyer kept her distance, preferring to wait and see what these new aliens were capable of.............

"There are ships on three sides of us sir."

"First, Luanch all fighters, Then fire main ion cannons at the lead ships then follow up with turbolaser fire."

The Devastation fired its ion cannons then sent a salvo of turbolaser fire down range.

OOC: Oh wow. Funny how threads go to shit so quick in II since I've come back now. This had potential, too...:(
Oh well. If Sephiroth's touch and 11001-whatever's post don't completely ruin it, I might post tomorrow.

OOC: I advise that you ignore 1001 or whatever his name is, and simply detect an Imperial Star Destroyer on long range scanners. Watching whatever you do.....

Actually, it seems as if you're trying to get your nation future tech and space bound, yes? If so, I have been sewing many seeds to get people FT bound in the past. You could put up a sattelite to scan the heavens, detect ships of mine, message them somehow, and we could get it going that way. Just one idea.
