// Abstract //

The G12 is the next, and first generation assault rifle for the Asperitan Armed Forces, or the AAF. Over several dozen years of learning and understanding the mechanics of the Assault rifle, and the most successful designs the Asperitan research department came up with this weapon. At the forefront of plastics, polymers, and light weight metals this rifle was born.

The rifle uses a bullpup configuration, following the recent rise of bullpup rifles, but attempts to capitalize on the configuration to increase potential muzzle velocity, allowing for greater penetration. It also relies on caseless ammunition, as opposed to cased ammunition to no longer risk jamming and if the need arise have an ultra high possible ROF to hose down targets in lead. The G12 also sports a fully modular barrel which can easily and quickly be changed out in less than a minute if the need arise. The weapon it’s self is fully modular as well, the body made for quick field stripping for adjustment of the RPM.

This rifle over the years has become a favorite amount Asperitan soldiers because it simply never jams, is a breeze to clean and maintain, the ability to quickly change out the barrel, it’s perfect length of not being overly long and so to be cumbersome.

The point of choosing 5.7mm ammunition was out of logistics. It was decided that after several hundred meters the bullet would begin to tumble causing an astounding amount of hydrostatic shock though not fatality knocking out the Opfor and two other soldiers. A medic, and a soldier to help him off the field, meaning 3 soldiers for one bullet, maybe 4 soldiers if the Opfor requires a second helper to be dragged off the field. Another reason was that it easily could become Super Sonic and perform better as an armor piercing round than say 7.62 as the size causes more friction due to it’s diameter.

Also a small heavy density steel rod weighs down the weapon near the fore-grip in which a small knob which can be turned can distribute weight according to the users prefrence. Otherwise, it is perfectly distributed upon standard issue.

The G12-A3 Sports a folding stock, and shortest barrel as well as the ability to remove the Iron Balancing rod due to it's common use in paradrop missions and carbine like usage. It also sports an improved flash-hider and the use of 4.7mm for reduced recoil as well as an improved magazine size to 60 rounds.

Also Asperitan Novac Lo Carry Transparent Blue Holo Sights make up the standard issue Iron Sights.
