Future Tech weapons survey

This is just a survey to see what kind of weapons does your nation use,

There is really only two

Battle star Galactica Tech- Using munitions like Nuclear weapons, Explosive shells, and other things that do boom.

Star Wars/Trek Tech- Phasers, laser, photon and proton torpedoes.

---

I use a little mix of both, Most of my ships use the BSG weaponry except for my Dante Destroyers that have a triple barrel turret plasma cannons.

That poll is very limiting.

Not especially. He's trying to sort out people who use slugthrowers and who uses more energy-based weapons.

None of these. Star Trek is great for target practice, and Battlestar Galactica is salvage for the nano replicator factories. I use both energy and kinetic weapons-- usually, one kinetic weapon (hyperspace jump missiles), and one energy type weapon (tractor/repulsor beams shake an enemy to pieces).

I use both and a mix of my own "fun" stuff like hyperspatial torpedoes.
Sagit

Sagit uses energy based weapons, similar to Star Trek. We haven't used chemical explosives for centuries. If we want a nuclear-type explosive, we use antimatter.

I use missiles, primarily, though the simplest analogue are the "Confederacy" and "Commonwealth" societies made by Peter F Hamilton. Masers, nuclear missiles, and wormholes.

I posted a poll that asked "IS BSG PMT or FT?" most said it was low FT or on the upper limits of PMT.I used to use it but to make up fornot having lasers i made them truely massive wank tasstic ships and had 5 mile frigates and 10 cruisers and 20-30 mile battleships.

I just finished Reality Dysfunction Pt. 2

Im trying to pick up the next book.

The Nagorii use graviton particle weaponry, however I do prefer slugs over energy weapons. Energy is a bit too squeaky clean and tends to do burn-type damage, whereas slugs smash a ship up- much more fun.

I think of it a FT. because i use bad ass shields to back up the ships for what they lack in Firepower.

But using sluggthorwers in my nations eyes is more Honorable than using energy based weaponry.

But then again my military charges blindly into enemy fire with little more than Power armor, and a chainsword... hmmm.

I tend to use a mixture of both in space, mostly leaning towards Star Wars "turbolasers." I have rail guns and whatnot, though.

On the ground I am almost completely Gauss weaponry. When I'm killing aliens or something, I don't want to see a little red or blue or whatever the hell color beam come out and cause minor burns to the enemy! I want to feel the weapon vibrating in my hands as I watch tracers go downrange at blinding speeds, ripping through my enemies like a warm knife through a small child. I want to watch as they are ripped to shreds by the slugs which they can barely see coming straight for their crucial organs. I want to watch the ones that live bathe in the blood and organs of their comrades! I want to watch my enemies' brain matter become a blanket on the ground for their comrades to slip on!

I think I painted a vivid enough picture. :D

If I were to use FT (which I don't, yet at least), I would use something along the lines of what is found in Warhammer 40K by the Imperial Guard (http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40K/imperialguard/default.htm). I guess you could consider that more BSG, though they do have some energy weapons thrown in for good measure.

If i ever go into FT id consider a "Dune" based tech, and this poll is very limiting

Reactionless drive based missiles with advanced fusion nukes. Electromagnetic Accelerator weapons firing nuclear shells (mostly for point-defense). Lasers, Grasers, Fusion Plasma weapons. Mostly weapons tech that can be rationally explained via scientific principles.

Most of my fleet is based off of None Cannon SW tech with some ST tech such as Cloaking Devices and such. I also mix in some Gundam Seed and Xenosaga tech into my space forces.

I personally use a combination of Phased Array Lasers, railguns and antimatter missiles, so I'm something of an in-betweener.

Then there's the high level specialised gear used mostly tactically due to their specialised uses - the otherwise utilitarian stuff that works really damn well on the people who pull the uber-uber stuff.

Strap an antigrav generator onto a missile and rig it to go off when in a black hole and shoot it at the guy who used them as 'shields'. No more ship.

People who simply steal copyrighted universe's weapons and ships for they're own use lack any semblence of orginality whatsoever.

...What category would gravitically impelled torpedoes and knife missiles fall under?
