The Ji Empire (Not a regional add, MT Open, Newbies Welcome)
We, the people of the former Ji Empire, torn apart by civil war two hundred years ago, today reclaim our Empire's former glory by recreating the Ji. We, as leaders of former independent nations, agree to the following terms:
The Ji Empire shall be recreated under the rule of Emperor Aileen II, however, it shall be divided into states: all former independent nations who were once part of the Empire and now re-join will become a state.
These states will be soviergn and have the right to pass their own laws and determine their leadership through their own means. The Empire itself will only make laws itself if required.
Each state has the right to have a military under their command, and the right to trade with other countries. They can wage war with any nation unless the Emperor himself prohibits such a war, but each state will have to dedicate its military to any war that the Emperor decides the Empire shall get into.
We, the undersigned, agree to these terms and swear that they were made under peaceful circumstances.
Emperor Aileen II of the Ji Empire Capitol
Prince Isaac Lorathin of Isaknia
Governess Alice Garlethed of North Bilan
OOC: This is basically an idea I've had for a while. The Ji Empire itself is a region. Anyone can come to that region, which means they are located within the Ji Empire. You can choose to sign this document or remain a rouge nation. New nations or those new to RPing are welcome. Older nations can retcon that they were always in the Ji Empire or create a new nation. THIS IS NOT A REGIONAL ADD, this is where the RPed joining of states to the new Ji Empire will occur. A map will come soon.
Oh yeah, and this is not the nation of Quaon proposing this. This is Ji Empire Capitol. I'm just using my old forums account.
C'mon, I want some players!

Why not? You don't neccesrally have to be close to the other states...the Empire is big.

I've got plans for ALM, and I'm waiting for it to grow into a bigger power so I can use it for good stuff :) [secret stuff too, and hopefully not too newbish...]
And I'm wondering where this region is... cuz I just might do :)

It's just known as "The Ji Empire."

Port Olympus, The Federated Klatchian Coast
Privy Council Chamber
The security report had been a draining one on the Privy Council. Landgravine Hubris sat back and pinched her upper nose. "Well we seem to be falling appart rather well, don't you think."
She looked around at the other members, then back at the next aide who appeared. "Well what do you have for us?"
"Ah it appears that Quaon is attempting to rebuild the Ji Empire." The aide informed the assembled group.
"Quite, another Uber Nation. So far the only Uber States that have actually existed besides on paper is the Reich, The Federation, and The Trimvarium of Yut," The Landgravine added in sour tones.
"Yes, and Quaon does not seem to be getting much, er intrest in the idea."
"Uber States only survive if it is a union of equal states, or near equal states. Hell we've had enough trouble keeping the Federation intact. Well keep an eye on them for the moment, they may become a threat later on."
"Yes, your ladyship..."
OOC: Trying to form an Uber nation is rather difficult, keeping it together is even harder.
OOC: This isn't Quaon. This is other nations I have created, I just am using this account.

OOC: I think your breaking a major rule here...
You can not RP another nation that is considered godmodding....
By creating a region, and an Uber Nation called 'The Ji Empire' you can not then RP the 'Ji Empire' since you are defacto Rping the other player states of the Empire.
You can Rp characters of the Empire (From your 'home' state) and possibly from other states if they allow you too, and the central government actually. But what your attempting to do oversteps the bounds...
OOC: But all current inhabitants of the Ji Empire ARE my nations. Basically, it's like the USSR. You get the aid of our military and can do what you like, but you have to listen to us when we tell you to do something.

Then your doing puppet multiplying which is usually considered a bad thing....
Somehow I think I need to go make a list of all the things we don't like thread.

Somehow I think I need to go make a list of all the things we don't like thread. It's only two other nations...and who is this we? Look, I'm just going to use them for RPing reason.

OOC: Look we have taken this thread off on a tangent but the 'we' is in general players of N.S. If you'll note I have been around here awhile...
There are lots of things that have generally been frowned upon:
The buying and selling of puppets
The use of multiple puppets in war...
(This is the potential abuse of your set up actually, note: potential I am not saying you intended to do that, but it might appear so to a mod at the wrong moment)
There is a whole pile of others I can't think of at the moment since it has been a long day for me and those two just popped into my head (primarily because they were not mentioned anywhere)
Anyway good luck on recruitment but be careful you don't overstep the bounds.
Well the CCCP wasn't the best example for you to bring up as a Confederation. Not likely to get you many puppet satates outside your control. Hubris let him alone. If he can RP this well then it is no big deal. He wants to be Russia of the alliance... lol that turned out well enough for a few decades.
Perhaps the Peloponessian Wars are a better comparision? He wants ressurect a great empire... Just remember not to mistreat your allies and you ought to be fine. Stacking your nations/puppetering is pretty poor show if you try to RP all of them. Best have one for different aspects of your personality.
One is the Good Guy.
One is the Bad Guy.
One doesn't give a Flying Fuck about Good or Evil.
Good luck.
OOC: Yes, but for the three nations that are mine, they will have a combined military the size of what it would be if there was only one of them.

Alcona and Hubris... make the thread. I read a lot of your work, I think you'd be quite qualified to make a "stuff we don't like" thread. You know what? I'll make a thread about the stuff we do like. I like I.G.N.O.R.E. Cannons. Very much so. I can even ingore a relative newbie who wants to set up his own role playing region. Heard me roar, fear my ingore. If Quaon wants to run his own region as one giant super-state, let him. If you don't like it, then don't RP with him. Which, to be fair, seems to be exactly what you are doing. Kudos. Anyone else with a problem, do the same.
Me li... You where trying to help and gave good advice. But generally speaking, don't argue with the people who've been here longer than you.
Quaon... there's a reason regions use offsite for regional forums. It means they can do whatever we want RP wise. I'd suggest setting up your own offsite forum for this little enterprise, and simply making a standard recruitment thread elsewhere. Because frankly, most the posts here have been OOC (and a lot of those where bumps).
You have a good idea here, and I'd love to see the interaction of different states within an empire. But frankly, I think this would be better off out of sight/site.

OOC: Sorry, I'm relatively new (basically lurking around the RP threads for well over a month now), and maybe I should not post this. Be assured that I am not trying to troll/flambait you.
Anyway - apart from the "legal" discussions maybe it helps to ask yourself the question where the fun is in this for others:
...but you have to listen to us when we tell you to do something.
OOC:
You'll have to tell us a lot more about how this is supposed to work, and why this is good/interesting for others than you.

OOC:Yes the whole fun of Rping a state within an Uber Nation is all of the internal conflicts and inter-state rivalries that occur.
But it takes decent players and a framework to make the whole thing work with any kind of cohesion. And it takes some nuanice to pull it together in a way that doesn't 'violate' the rules.
We got off on a tangent that has me comming off far more critical of the idea than I really was. But to be effective it takes planning, and a firm grasp of both the hard rules and soft rules of the forums.
My best suggestion for the new empire (uber nation) builder is to go look up the Trimvarium(sp?) of Yut or TOY. Most of their stuff is on the Nation States Forum but that is a good example of what you need to do in terms of setting up an Uber Nation.
As for the 'things we don't like thread' well I will first get suggestions from my fellows of the FKC. Between Dyelli Beybi, Ilek-Vaad, Vrak, and Atlantian Outcasts, and myself you've got a good core of tenured Rpers there.

OOC: @Quaon: That's exactly what I thought when I read your reply. If you can provide a proper framework I might even end up RPing it. Now that I understand it, the idea sounds provocative. It'll be challenging for the RPers to make it work.
The clerk was buried under a pile of data...
For an Free Anarchy, the Dominion of Me Li's government somehow still generated a few Mountain ranges of paperworkd and redtape. This was made even worse by the miniturization and digitation of the "paperwork." Time was when a bureacrat could at least see his life frittering away with the physical representation of a pile of papers. Now thanks to the "nifty" inventions he was in his own neverending purgatory.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
SHIzzza...
The analyst quickly read the Intel report from the Old Ji Empire... ayup a potential threat to the Dominion in merely a few decades. They would have to deploy some ground assets to keep an eye on the Gaijin bastards. He forwarded the recomendations to the Me Li Travel Agency. Tour groups would need to be organized and deployed within the next few months.

<grins> Nag Ehgoeg I forgot the ooc: last time. Thanks for the comps. Your appeal to age and senority is interesting; tells me much about you. Hubris I meant no disrespect. I've been scanning your stuff. Nice. Ji Empire I'll Rp a little claok and dagger with you in a few weeks. TG me in say a week.

But generally speaking, don't argue with the people who've been here longer than you.
OOC: This is the only bit I've really got a problem with. Though it may apply here, I don't think it should be taken as an unbreakable rule. Hataria, for example, has been around longer than me. However, I reserve the right to argue with him. Age does not dictate wisdom, as I'm sure some wise man somewhere once said. Maybe.

Having read your proposal, the Commonwealth of Northford is happy to endorse it. While we cannot join for reasons of our own, we would like to offer you a hand of friendship in this world, along with a free trade agreement, and possibly a military alliance.
While we may not be a power in this world, we all reconise the benifits of friendship, and therefore extend our hand forth.
