Attention nations of the world!

The confederacy of Free Shepmagans (CFS if you prefer) is opening it's borders to diplomacy and accepting embassy requests. We are a small nation, currently attempting to implement direct democracy. Our military is currently under funded and almost entirely consists of national guard units but we hope to remedy that in the near future. We are mostly interested in ways to improve man-machine interfaces and synthetic lubricants. However small arms and trade goods (exotic fruits, meat ECT) will also be welcome. Any embassies will be hosted in Prinbrow, our capital city. We eagerly await responses. ((OOC, World Factbook (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=487099)))

The Knights Templeur welcomes CFS and would like to have an embassy in CFS. We too are a small nation in the process of implementing a larger military force. Perhaps we can help each other.
We have an embassy available in our capitol of Desreignes. I look forward to hearing from you.

While we may not agree with all of your policies, your people seem happy and your government fair. We would be happy to host an embassy. Your military is somewhat better trained then our own, perhaps we could send some advisors to learn of your training methods and bring the knowledge back with them? At any rate, we offer military aid as soon as our military is back on it's feet and the opportunity to examine our meager air fleet for any technological advantage it may harbor. Though considering that the planes are several years out of date that isn't much of an offer.

We will allow up to 25 of your advisors to observe our military training and offer you 5 of our surplus aircraft for a reasonable price. You will have the choice of F/A 18 Hornets or F/A 22 Raptors. We also have several hundred MBTs available.

The capitol buzzed with excitement at the news that delegates would soon be arriving, citizens *some with shaved heads, a result of the implants the would soon allow them to effortlessly govern themselves.* looked on in awe
as national guardsmen secured the landing pads and embassies that would soon host their visitors. Three mig-31's patrolled the sky, the last thing they needed was an attack now, however unlikely it may be.

Praetor Khilgau spotted the small nation of Shepmagan while still 20 miles away. He shifted his bulk, and went into a glide, heading straight towards the government center.

It was the first time Khilgau had been out of Angelianum in centuries, and he was secretly pleased that High Lord Savanau had chosen him to represent The Spirits. He would certainly do his best to give the Shepmagians an accurate picture of life in the land of The Spirits.

He became aware of the fact that several aircraft were tracking him, but didn't sense any hostility from them. He continued on his way, and in a few minutes would be in Prinbow.

Many people looked up in awe, as the large winged human-like creature descended from the clouds. Several of the national guardsmen even dropped their weapons at the sight of such a thing. After several moments, people began to calm down and get on their way, appearing unaffected apart from the occasional glance back toward the descending man. One of the advantages of this level of human-machine interface was you could be sure some everyman would beam his visual feed to a news station, in return for a hefty sum.

Khilgau drew closer and closer to what appeared to be the governmental center of Shepmagan. The town was named Prinbow, and the citizens called it their capitol. Many of the people on the ground now saw him, and they pointed at him as he glided towards the steps of an official-looking building. He saw a number of armed individuals coming together and moving towards the spot where Khilgau was intent on landing. When he was just 25 feet off the ground, he pulled up, hung in the air motionless for a second or two, then dropped straight down, touching the steps so softly that the guards marvelled at how such a large and obviously heavy creature could move so elegantly.

As the guards approached....quite cautiously....Khilgau raised his arm in salute, finishing the movement with his fist over his heart. " Greetings. I am Praetor Khilgau of The Unleashed Spirits of Angelianum. I have been invited here to meet with and speak to your leaders. Lead me to them."

The first guard to reach him stopped short about 10 feet from the visitor. It took him almost a full minute to speak, as his eyes were wide in awe of this creature.

Praetor Khilgau was 12', 3" tall, his coloring a curious shade of gold. Actually closer to a pale copper color. He had no hair anywhere on his body. Both his hands and his feet were formed for grabbing onto hand-and-footholds: opposed thumbs and toes accomplished this. His limbs were massively muscled, and his eyes were verticle slits, like a cat's. But it was his wings that drew most of the stares.

The guard estimated that Khilgau's wingspan exceeded 30', and when they were folded, as they were now, they brushed the ground. He was naked except for a short band of iridescent cloth around his loins.

By this time, several more guards had arrived, and despite their initial nervousness, began to see that Khilgau posed no threat. Indeed, the aura of friendliness and goodwill coming from the Angel, for that was how they were already thinking of him, was palpable.

Khilgau stood waiting, massive arms folded.................

The guard shook off his stupor. "Uh... yes of course sir. Right this way." The guard nodded to one of the other guards to inform the senate, before motioning the angel toward the doors of the large building, glad for the high ceiling and broad halls.

When they reached the gallary where the group was waiting, one of the senators stepped forward. "Greetings Praetor... Khilgau?" He looked in askance at the guard, who nodded that he got the pronounciation at least very close. "We thank you for visiting our nation and hope we can come to an agreement that will benefit both our peoples."

The senator smiled warmly, feeling rather comfortable dispite the Praetor's massive size and impressive appearence. ((OOC sorry about my absence, my net was having matenence, made getting on a crap-shoot))

Three helicopter gunships entered Shepmagan airspace. The lead gunship radioed their presence to the proper authorities, who granted them permission to land. The gunships flew past the airport, both the civilian one and the military, and one-by-one landed on the spacious lawn of the Senate building in Prinbow. The gunships had no markings on them except for a glyph on the pilot side of the craft. The glyph was actually an indication of which tribe the pilot came from, in this case the Zheron Tribe. The other two gunships bore the glyphs of the tribes of the Evasi and the Dnes-Siad. These were the three tribes of Pharexian royalty.

As the props of the gunships slowed, fifteen armed personnel jumped from the copters. It was quickly evident that all of the soldiers were women. They lined up on either side of the second gunship's open door, weapons at the ready. They were all heavily armed and armored.

A man appeared in the dooorway of the gunship, took a quick look around, and jumped to the ground. He was similarly outfitted in the black leather and Kevlar of his guards. He was Cyth, Lord of Pharex.

He was neither tall nor particularly well-built....average would aptly describe him. His female security team, all redheaded, towered over him by at least 6 inches. Their obvious respect for him was unmistakable, for the sense of power and respect surrounding him was notable.

" M'lord Commander, we are approaching Shepmagans."

Lucien Delacroix, Commander of the Knights of the Temple, shifted his gaze out of the window of his personal jet. The airport was rapidly rising to meet the custom Lear and in short order they had landed and were taxiing to a stop in front of a large terminal. Airport security were scrambling to provide protection to the arriving diplomats.

" Captain, please stay with the jet. Seargent deGuerre, please assemble your men and let's get down into the terrminal, preferably without incident."

The seargent and six troopers descended the steps of the aircraft ahead of the Commander. They were garbed in the grey and white of the elite Temple Sentinels, fully armed, M-16IIa rifles, 9mm Beretta sidearms, and battle knives at the ready. Commander Delacroix had on his dress uniform, a brilliant white tunic on which was emblazoned the red cross of the Templars, white trousers, and deep red, almost black, boots. His only weapon were his Beretta and his sword, a 49-inch razor-sharp antique from the original Priory in France, circa 1248 A.D.

He stood at the top of the steps, looked around for a second or two, and began to descend. When he reached the bottom, he awaited the Shepmagans escort to the palace.

The leader of the group, a relatively tall blonde woman, eyed the sword wearily for a moment before reminding herself that she had been ordered to allow the diplomats to carry small arms. As the Templars walked towards the meeting hall, Sgt. deGuerre noticed the winged creature, and a chill crept up his spine. The myths and legends surrounding these beings came to his mind, and these combined with the rumors of an unholy alliance with certain nations caused him to break ranks and speak to the Commander. " Sir, do you see what I see?"

" Yes, seargent, I do. But let's not jump to any conclusions just yet. After all, we have very incomplete information at this point."

" Yes sir." Sgt. deGuerre returned to his position, still feeling uneasy.

Commander Delacroix answered. " Senator, if you haven't heard of the situation in the region of The Pagan Borderlands, let me fill you in." Delacroix glanced again at the Angel. " That...being...over there is a citizen of the nation of Angelianum. There are three nations in that region, named Ur Mesop, and all are in one way or another related to each other. All are spirit-angelic beings of remarkable abilities. That makes them inherently dangerous, as their physical makeup is very different from ours. They have the ability not only to fly, but to disappear at will, as well as the ability ot morph into whatever form they choose. They have not ever been a threat to anyone, but there are those in The Pagan Borderlands who would see that situation change."

As they continued towards the meeting hall, he continued. " A few years back, there was a mass rebellion of disaffected residents of the Empire of Xeraph. Several nations within the Empire broke away and spontaneously attacked a number of Xeraphian allies without provocation. Long story short, one of those nations was Vhammpyr, and Vhammpyr was being run at the time by three generals, chief of which was Azulun, the most bloodthirsty and cruel vampire to come along in centuries. He almost single-handedly caused the deaths of over 12 million people with the use of chem/bio weapons and suicide attacks. The Empire of Comatica eventually captured him, but he escaped and is believed to be organizing the nations of The Pagan Borderlands into a force to be reckoned with. Recently, information has been trickling in that Azulun has been making overtures to the Angel nations to join him. If that should happen, well let's just say there'd be hell to pay."

He continued. " Xeraph today has been reunited with the nations that broke away, and is at peace. As are the other nations that Azulun attacked. We are allied to Xeraph, and serve as it's northern-most recon and surveillance base. We Knights are the closest nation to the Pagan Borderlands and Ur Mesop, who share the same land-mass. Should the two regions unite, the world could very well be facing a horrifying war. We have no solid information yet, but we're hoping against hope that we're wrong." He pointed towards the Angel. " He is typical of the citizens who inhabit Angelianum. And I don't know if you are aware or not, but the other delegation who landed just before us are from Pharex......one of the premier nations of The Pagan Borderlands. If I were you, I would be very careful of those two. I guarantee that they are not here at the same time by accident."

Delacroix looked at the Senator long and hard. " Sir, without beating around the bush, I can hazard a guess as to why the Pharexians are here. Simply as a forward scouting party. You are a young, new nation. Not much in the way of military defenses. They don't want your land......they want your people. You see, there are still a lot of the former Vhammpyrian rebels alive in the Pagan Borderlands, and there is the Vampiric Realm of Osatael. They need food.........human food. Not just the blood....the flesh as well. They don't need to feed but once every 30 days or so, but that's still a lot of food. They need to replenish every 3-4 years or so. And they are presently overdue. Their stock from the last conquest is about depleted. If I were you, I would seek military protection from everyone you can."

" Sir, I'm simply advising you of our information based on the delegates that we've seen here. I had no idea that they were going to be here, and for that matter, I have no idea what their intentions are. Just wanted to give you a 'heads-up. And as far as invading Shepmagan, why would we do that after you were all dead? There'd be no advantage to it. No, Senator, we're not like that. We have all we need in our country, and we are secure in the knowledge that our allies would come to our aid should the need arise."

ooc: no sowing of distrust intended. I've been around Xeraph long enough to know a bit of their history. I have no clue as to anyone's intentions. If I had to guess, Pharex wouldn't try anything because they'd get squashed in short order even if they had the whole region involved. Xeraph is quite efficient in the "cleansing" of nations who mess with their allies. I just added the history/info as part of a normal political discussion.

" Well, Senator, as I said, we have all that we need, and that's mainly because of our alliances. Most of our needs, and not a few of our wants, are provided for us by our allies. We have very little to offer in the way of goods, but we do have an excellent recon/stealth training facility as well as a state-of-the-art medical research center. We've made great strides towards the eradication of hemmoragic diseases such as Ebola and Bubonic Plagues. We feel we have a mission to share what we've learned with those who would appreciate it. " Sir, our foreign bases are a combination of embassy, medical facilities, engineering crew and military. The military forces would be limited to six fighter jets, two HCGSs, two bombers, an armored platoon, and 200 Temple Marines. A plot of land approximately 1,000 acres in size would do. Naturally, we would foot the cost of all construction." Delacroix could see that the Senator was nervous and skeptical. " Senator, I assure you that I have no ulterior motives.
