In the deepest expanse of blackest space, in a region that barely appears on any maps, a reconnaissance probe send off a single message, the first it had made for hundreds of years. Whatever nation had dispatched it here had long since ceased to exist, and its once highly-secured communication channels been hacked by teenagers in basement apartments for practice and used for poor-quality video transfer.

The message comprised of a single five-second clip of video, from a camera scarred by centuries of space dust, trying to focus through a nebulous green fog on something that’s EW jamming didn’t lend itself to being photographed. Yet even so, before the intruding device was plucked from existence by a single bright lethal blast of luminescent white light, it managed to produce a single quality image: This (http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j253/str4nger/Miz-fog.jpg).
***
Nearby, but a few short hours afterwards, another, more modern FTL message came from a world that once again showed on but a few obscure and otherwise highly inaccurate maps, and was barely noted even there. Though the senders had helpfully included coordinates to aide whoever heard them. It read as follows:
This is Human Colony *Ksshsshk* we are under attack by unknown alien species. They haven’t blocked hyper-transmissions yet, so I’m sending this…I only hope somebody hears it in time. There’s at least *Kssshssshk* capital ships, and overwhelming *Kssshssshk* on ground. There are over a million of us here. You’ve got to send help. *Kssshssshk*. Again, this is Human Colony Ber*ksshk*, send help. If you pick this up in time, you’ll know where we are. Exact coordinates follow along with what little data we have. Don’t let us die.

Unfortunately, the transmission cut off immediately after the coordinates were transmitted. Leaving only a powerful screech of EW jamming in its wake, this desperate cry for help was cut off.
OOC: Definately not continued from here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10740879#post10740879). No-way at all.

"Sire, we are getting a distress message from an unknown colony world claiming it’s under attack by someone.”
”Where’s the scout in that region?”
”She is busy. It would be equally expedient to send a task force out to investigate and possibly more valuable in the long run, and with the project that was occupying our forces almost complete, the crews need a chance to stretch their legs.”
”Alright, send a wing to check it out.”
“Alright, Vice-Admiral Bell has been straining his leash recently.”
”Then do so, oh and Maria asked me to invite you round for dinner.”
”We’ll be there, have a good one.”
“You too.”

****************

“Finally.” Vice-Admiral James Bell muttered as he received his orders, after passing it on to his wing, “We’re getting to do something, and maybe we’ll get to slag some bastards.”

The third wing of the second fleet detached itself from its position around the construction site, the rest of the second fleet expanding to cover the empty area. Once the wing was mobilized, they hit warp.

Some hours later the wing exited into the system, moderately distant from the coordinates given. It would give time for reorganization and to deal with anything that may have been lurking in-system.

Immediately apparant to anybody entering the system would be the single extremely large capital ship in low orbit over the planet. Whatever was going on on the planet was certainly a resul of its appearance, and high-powered sensors would be able to discern fighting on the surface.

At over 11km long, it would certainly not be easy to stop the attacking ship from devastating the planet, but there was nothing else in the system that could have caused a distress signal to be sent out.

"How many vessels do you have, my four sovereigns should be able to take care of the shields, and my Daedeli can form a fighter screen if necesseary."

The Patton led the four sovereigns in and swept the shields of the massive war ship with their phaser banks. They where followed by a massive swarm of Vipers and F-303's that fired their missiles and guns at the shields to help bring them down.

The Orion plunged below the ship, and rotated to present most of their weapons to bear as they fired their powerful guns at the ship.

"Bloody hell! What on earth is that?" Exclaimed Admiral Morten

"Its an archaic channel sir, too old even to be adapted technology, and, given the quality of the image, I'd say its not in charted space" Replied naval aide Kelinski. Morten looked sceptical, having been duped into wild chases into dead space before, however his naturally assertive inclination overtook his scepticism, and , before he could restrain himself, his face was transmogrified from boredom to eagerness. " Follow the signal. Now." He directed with an authority tinged with joy.

OoC: Bad move, tAP. Didn't even say 'Hi' before opening fire. That's a good way to get yourself... well...
IC:
A number of messages came up from the planet's surface, directed to the new arrivals.

Thank you for coming so quickly. Your largest ship should be able to take off most of our population if you can get it close enough. We've got teleporters down here that are still functional. But we won't be able to hold off their ground forces for more than another hour. As we said before, there are over a million colonists.
Thank God you've come. Get as close to the planet as possible- we don't think it has many guns, only heavy sheilds. Then we'll be able to evacuate without worrying about its fighters. We know it has plenty of those. We have a few teleporters, but not enough to offload everybody, so we need to protect our shuttles.

And sure enough the words rang true for at that moment thousands of fighters swarmed out from behind the Spawnship, their eerily cruel forms slicing through space. Weapon discharges glowed bright white as they reached out at the speed of light to slice apart unsuspecting Privateer F-303s.

OOC: And, since I know how to count, I'm looking at ~150 F303s and at most 150 Vipers, assuming you're using the original series' higher number.

Vice-Admiral Bell recieved the message, and slightly cursed at the fact that teleporters could not teleport on nor off of a Theao vessel. From the bridge of the Dactynatha, he sent a message to the planet while dispatching a 'division' to pick up the civilians.

If you wish to utilize teleporters, you'll have to take it up with the other fleet as teleporters are a non-viable alternative. We are dispatching a number of atmospheric capable vessels to aid in the evacuation, with a women, and children first clause.
Vice-Admiral Bell

He then sent out a short message to the beseiging vessel.

This is Vice-Admiral Bell, I would most strongly advise that you step down, or provide an EXCEPTIONALLY good reason for your actions.

"Pull up, pull, up." The command rang throught the squadrons as they scrambled to get out of the way of the swarming fighters.

The Sovereigns continued along their course however, slicing at the shields with their phaser banks, as their teams worked to teleport as many people as they could.

The Daedeli also began teleportation efforts, teleporting as many as they could.

"This is Rear Admiral James Dewey to Fleet Admiral Jack Ray, we need assistance over."

"I copy, The Roosevelt is on it's way with the new Whale King Task Force."

Five seconds later, The Roosevelt, a Sovereign Class Super Star Destroyer, appeared and aimed it's axial super laser at the ship, preparing to send a beam 1/3 the power of just one of the Death Star's eight component turbolasers straight at the opposing ship.

The Whale Kings mean while swooped down onto the planet's surface, their cargo holds full of Ligers and Command Wolves.

Only now did the Spawnship reply to the attackers, who had so uncouthly wasted their time bouncing off its sheilds.
Fools. Do not be swayed by propaganda. This system must be cleansed of the abominations. Why do you attack those who are rightous, and not the true enemy? We do not interfere when humans fight amongst themselves. Why do you interfere with the Siv?

Those Privateer ships which had come close to the surface of the planet found themselves inundated with people teleporting onboard. But these were not helpless civilian refugees, despite having come from inside the besieged city. Instead heavily armed warriorsappeared all throughout the small ships, in bridges, engineering sectors, hallways, and barracks firefights broke out as the boarders began saughtering the unsuspecting crews. The armored bodies had no fear of violent decompression, perfectly willing to use their heaviest weapons to blow holes in the hull.

On the planet's surface, fihgting abruptly ceased, as the armored humanoid forms and the bug-like attackers wheeled about to attack the forces that had landed. No interlopers would be allowed to interfere in the internal affairs of a species.

Explain.

Bell sent the one word message to the ship claiming it was the good guy.

Those who had the misfortune of a Bengal shuttle, the only kind military ships below dreadnaught class carried, would quickly come to regret it. The assault shuttles were also used as air-mobile support for the ground forces, and thus nasty in combat.

They didn't remain as they were attack thought and quickly returned to the 'division' that had launched them.

The Yrrgath answers to no humans. The Blasphemous One's children will be whiped from the universe. If you aide them, you will be destroyed as well. The Blasphemous One is the enemy of all life.

While this message was being sent, the fighters broke of their pursuit of the Vipers and F303s, having driven them away from their home. However, they still milled about under the protective umbrella of its sheilds, ready to chase off any second attacks.

Another message came up from the surface of the planet:
Shoot everything you have at the ship. We can't hold them off any longer here on the ground. They're breaching our lines everywhere. Be careful, we think they have some sort of mind-control device.

OOC: Hey, I bought all those ships, check my wiki article if you want

The Sovereign Class Explorers found themselves under attack, and began to drift as the helmsmen where taken out by these strange invaders. scattered resistance occured as security teams grabbed what weapons they could to fight back. However, they knew that all was lost. There was only one hope. Activate the self-destruct and prevent their ships from being used against themselves.

The Daedeli where not in as good of a position. As the armored beings where teleported into the cargo holds, they began fighting their way into the ships. Security teams where dispatched as engineers began teleporting them into the vacuum.

Watching the ships get breached brought great anger to the face of the Fleet Admiral. "Fire at the ship, take it out of this realm. Order our Zoids to destroy any and all who resist"

The laser lanced out at the spawnship, burning a deadly crimson. If it hit the spawnship, nothing would be left. If not, well, then the plnet would be hit, and that would be good for neither side.

On the ground, many whale kings crashed as heavy weapons fire took them out. Those that did land disgorged their Liger Zeros in Schnieder form, and countless Command Wolves. The Ligers rushed out and lowered their hands, hoping to slash at everything they could. The command wolves on the other hand sat back and fired their weapons, trying to blow holes in their enemies.

"Sorry I'm late, Admiral!"
Rear Admiral Hennen didn't respond, he barely took the time to glance at the corporal who rushed to take his seat. With a single indication from his index finger, who's hand still supported his head, the force set out. Bright lights emanated for an instant from their previous positions, soon leaving no trace of their existence.

*****

A surge in energy and they reappeared in the same system as the signal. Seconds after that and sensors swept the entire area at high power. STL engines came to life and the vessels lurched forward. There was no missing the Kazeci presence in the system.
The KishKar's bridge, like the other 6 Kazeci bridges, was alive with life. Large holographic representations of the system and vessels in it existed on each of the decks of each of the bridge, smaller ones placed in the middle of other hubs. Information was everywhere, with every one, streaming at incredible rates. RA Hennen stood 'in' one of them, indicating as he spoke.
"Contact the lead Theao vessel and ask for a tactical assessment. Move the force over here, toward the quiet side of the planet. Use this moon for cover on the way. Set fleet into defensive phalanx. Ready all transport craft, open carrier bay doors."
"Sir, scans indicate Theao transports in distress on the planet's surface."
"Hold of on rescue until their response." Suddenly the spawn ship turned from an orange representation to a flashing red one. "I want the reason for that change!"
"Just received an update from CC, that vessel matches the description of one that obliterated a Kazeci carrier not long ago. They're hostile."

Theao leader, please fill us in on all of the fun you've been having. The current situation is not yet clear to us. Be advised that the 11 kilometer vessel is known as hostile to Kazecistan and possess immense power. Current Kazeci data on it is being transmitted now.

"Great, those damn Kazi monkeys are here." Bell muttered as the sensors picked up the arrival of the ships from Kazecistan. With a scowl he read the message from them.

We're in the process of trying to figure out the situation. The large ship claims it is on the side of good, and that the planetary forces are deviants, something not entirely unsupported by recent evidence. The planetaries sent out a distress call, which brought us, and presumably the other fleet as well.
Until the situation is clarified, we shall be staying out of the combat.

"This is Admiral Ray to the Orion, I am ordering you to recall your fighters, also, pick up as many of the F-303's as you can. We will take care of the rest."

The fighters returned to the two remaining ships as the fighting continued on board the Daedeli.

On board one, the Artemis, the crew still had control of the bridge and engineering.

"Engineering, beam over as many crews of the other ships as possible, any humans on those ships need to be brought here, now!"

All across the fleet, the men where brought over. The security teams where beamed into places where they could be sent into the fighting.

On the ground, combat teams of zoids where formed as they rushed into combat. The whale kings moved over head, providing air support from their laser arrays.

The few craft that were successfully taken over by boarders promptly began to fly at top speed away from combat, before disappearing into FTL. Where to was uncertain, though it was most likely that they fled to the sensor-distorting mists of a nearby nebula.

The blast from the SSD impacted the sheilds of the Yrrgath, splashing red against them for a split second, before crashing through and smashing into its hull. The armor took the hit for another full second before it too buckled. However, this did not stop the Spawnship, instead something new happened. It screamed, which is to say that it let out a sustained burst of FTL transmission, powerful enough to blast through any jamming, and even severly damage the tranceivers of nearby vessels. But to those who knew what it meant, it was a undeniable request. And it was soon heard throughout the galaxy, by people who knew they must honor it or be killed themselves.

New contacts began appearing on the sensor screens of the assembed fleets. The first to arrive appeared next to the now-stricken Yrrgath, offering to it protection under its sheilds. The second appeared between it and the firing Sovereign, prepared to stop a second attack from hitting. The third and fourth appeared on either side of the Super Star Destroyer.

Cease your actions and prepare to be boarded. The Yrrgath has done you no wrong. And you have now wronged all the Siv. We wish to minimize your casualties, and do not want to whipe you from the sky. The Yrrgath's Council will determine how you will be punished. May they have mercy on you. All other ships are free to leave.

Then the Yrrgath stirred, its engines firing back to life. Its sheilds reactivated, and its fighters swarmed out from its hangars once again. It made another communcation attempt.

That vessel's commanding officers will be transferred to us for detainment. Then we will finish cleansing the surface of abominations. Then all but the Pesstal may go. Pesstal, please remain with us to assist in repairs.

The Orion and the Roosevelt powered up shields and fired their weapons before folding space to a point beyond the system and folding to their homeworld.

On the ground, the zoids broke out of any possible conflict, backing into their whale king transports, which folded space to get out of the system and back home.

However, the Ares still hung there, their oponents dead, trying to rebuild their ftl drives.

The rail guns of the Ares turned to the floating Daedeli. Their navi banks and engines where targeted as the Ares lashed out at the derelict ships. five F-303's had stuck around, unable to reach a ship, and they each targeted an individual ship, firing at the enginges. four of the ships exploded, while the other three burned, targeted by the Daedeli railguns and missiles.

However, on one, the nav bank was seperated from the rest of the ship, and spun off toward the wounded spawn ship. Though it was damaged, some data would still be retrievable, including the location of New Tortuga, the TAP homebase, a massive asteroid in the Tortuga System's asteroid belt.

"That's just damned crazy!" The captain of the KishKar nearly shouted as he and a trusted pilot made their way down a corridor.
"It's not like I'll be in the thing!"
"It's still Kazeci property."
"Government property."
"Kazecistan is a government. It's community property."

They came to a large and think bulkhead, beneath them was only of the ship's many internal defences, hidden under floor panels that acted as doors. As the captain waved his hand, an unnecessary gesture, the bulkhead slid effortlessly into the walls ceiling and floor. both stepped through onto the balcony-like path and then onto a bridge that connected the outer wall of the massive room to the suspended inner core of decks. Soon they approached RA Hennen.

"I think we'd benefit from a fly through with a sensor drone. It'd get us attention and lots of data."
"It's a suicide mission, with all those big guns out there!"
Hennen responded without hesitation, "Do it. It's an unmanned craft, hence Drone being its designation, and this pilot believes he can do it. Sorry, captain."

Moments later a small drone exploded fourth from the bay at maximum speed. Its body was built for speed, and it was well built. Few craft could catch it without FTL. In moments it approached the battle, swerving around obstructions ranging from weapons fire to ships and debris, all the while it collected data and transmitted it back to the fleet.=.

IC:
The aggressors will not be allowed to escape punishment. Pesstal remain and aide the Yrrgath. All others prepare for pursuit. Those humans who are not involved are free to leave.

All but the two Spawnships in orbit over the world jumped out fo the system, pursuing the fleeing Super Star Destroyer. The reconiassance drone went unnoticed by the huge combatants as they disappeared once again into FTL, to the unfortunate homeworld to which it had fled.

The Yrrgath turned its fire back onto the planet's surface, raking the sheilded 'civilian 'areas with increasingly heavy bombardment. On the ground, its drones turned back to the all-important task of cleansing the universe of the Abominations. The only thing worse than dangerous ideas is their physical representation.

Prepare yourselves, for if we do not complete our sacred task, more human blood will spill than Siv. The Chisrit is unclean, and hopes to bring its doom upon all life. You have been warned.

The Ares hung, silent, as every crewman worked to re-establish the tesseract drives.

"Sir, the ships are leaving."

"Engineering, when will the drive be online?"

"Right about...Now."

As the Tesseract Drive activated, the Ares disappeared in a silent explosion of yellow and green.

It arrived, moments later above New Tortuga, broadcasting the news of the Spawn ships imminent arrival.

OOC: just so you know, my nation uses a form of FTL simillar to that in Battlestar Galactica, which creates a near instantaneous transportation from one spot to another.

OOC: As does mine. looks like we're arriving... simultaneously. Sorry for the short post, but I'm in a hurry.

Do not attempt to flee justice. No innocents shall be harmed. The aggressor must lower sheilds and admit our boarding party. Human casualties are not desired. The War will be prevented.

The three Spawnships appeared in the New Tortuga system with a furious burst of energy, projecting their anger with fully-powered sheilds and weapons systems. No underhanded sneak attacks would catch these Spawnships off-guard while on a mercy mission.

Targeting scanners swept over the Privateer vessels, taking in all the data necessary to fight a battle, but fightercraft remained in their hangars. Surely the humans would see reason and surrender, rather than face an attack.

OOC: Your arrival in the Tortuga System (Home of the Capital of The Longinean Order and the Meeting place of the Coventus Alliance (Of which TAP is a member)) means now I can enter.

IC
"Grandmaster, three massive ships of unknown origin have just arrived in the Tortuga Asteroid Belt. We are registering massive enery discharges, possibly weapons fire. I believe that they are here to attack TAP!"

"Sir, we are getting a transmission, It's from the Ares. Those ships have attacked Privateer forces in another system, It is confirmed, they are here for TAP."

"What! Mobilise the 1st fleet and the 1st and 2nd Vans. I want them to get close to that belt and hammer those ships with everything we have got."

Using the Tesseract equipped ships bought from the TAP Shipyards, the First Fleet, comprised of 1 1st Rate, 2 2nd Rates, 4 3rd Rates, 16 4th Rates, 64 5th Rates, and 128 6th Rates tesseracted to the near side of the belt. They brought their coilgun broadsides to bear, and fired massive waves of tungsten steel at the invading ships.

The Ares was hit by one of those energy bursts, and disappeared, flung elsewhere into the universe.

The sensors would have picked up nothing but scattered energy readings, the largest of the energy readings would have been the Asteroid of Tortuga, a massive asteroid thirty miles in diameter, as the "homeworld" of The American Privateer was located in the asteroid belt out past the fifth planet of the Tortuga System.

As the ships hung, bombarded by massive waves of steel, Two Sovereign Class Super Star Destroyers came into view.

"Target the lead ship. If one shot doesn't do it, then two most definetly will. Fire!"

The two Sovereign SSD's fired their axial superlasers at the lead ship.

At the same time, four Super Star Destroyers (OOC: SW 5&6) tesseracted behind the ships, and fired at the spawnships from behind.

Also, Ten Mercury Class and Sixteen Athena Class Batttlestars appeared above the spawnships. They rotated just enough, and fired their first wave of Nuclear missiles at the enemy ships.

Further More, 18 Thantra Class Warships tesseracted to a point outside the destructive range along with the 15 Libran Class Longrange Gunships, and targeted the the spawnships with all of their forward weapons.

Below the Spawnships, 38 Daedelus Class Frigates appeared, opening up with their Railguns.

OOC: I think that TLo misunderstood the energy bursts. The two of of use the following to designate our arrival via tesseract. "A silent, yellow-green explosion appeared, and a ship sailed out of it." As for the Ares, I have always held that if you are where a tesseract opens up, you are flung some where else. Hasn't happened yet, but That is what I usually say. And as for the attacks. My ships have one command if outnumbered. Return to Tortuga, the majority of my Fleet is stationed there, so they will fire. I will edit the post though, and remove the whole "they hit asteroids," and replace it with some thing else.

EDIT: 'k, finished, now please post the reaction to this onslaught.

OOC: Picking up on this a bit late, but what the H_ll; it'll give me a chance to meet some people and find out what's going on out here...

On the Bridge of the Battlecruiser Shining SpearThe child-sized Ylii – a Beta, naturally – tapped the key to replay the message for the quickly awakening Watch Officer:This is Human Colony *Ksshsshk* we are under attack by unknown alien species. Don’t let us die.The Watch Officer was scarcely amused.

“You can translate that, I hope?” it growled.

Passivity was a trait that 100,000 years of breeding had made into a core characteristic among the Ylii - and especially the Betas. “Yes,” it said simply, and tapped another key. This is Sshshshshsh(?), slaves to the meat-beings. We lie beneath challenge by questionable external organisms. They have not struck(?) extreme power couplings, but(?) I am dispatching this anyway(?). I alone desire that an unspecified person hears it historically. There are Sshshshshsh(?) vessels in excess of first rate. These vessels have crashed. Over a million of us are listening already(?). You are ordered to assist the Sshshshshsh(?). This is the Sshshshshsh(?) slaves once more. The Sshshshshsh(?) offer to assist(?). If you take on cargo historically you will find us. Small numbers precede locational data. We do not wish for a glorious end.“There seems to be data designed to allow us to trace the message to its source, then nothing,” concluded the diminutive creature.

The Watch Officer screwed up its eyebrows quizzically. “Damned meat-beings! Why do they always talk in circles like that?” it growled. Tapping its broad, strong fingers against the armrest of the command chair, it considered its options. “It sounds as though some vessel belonging to these 'Sshshshshsh' slaves has crashed while providing some service to their meat-being masters, perhaps in removing a valuable cargo. Tribute? I wonder,” the Vah mused aloud.

It paused for a second, not to get a response from the Ylii – who would of course never respond – but to gather its thoughts. It resumed talking to no one in particular, seeking to work out for itself whether to alert the Captain.

“If there's a valuable cargo, perhaps we should attempt to acquire it,” the Watch Officer mused. Another moment's thought, and then an order: “Steer a course for the point of origin of this message.”

“Shall I alert the Captain?” asked the Beta.

“No,” said the Watch Officer. “Let's see where this leads.”OOC: Fans of 2300 A.D. will of course relish the usual comic relief provided by the canon's feeble attempts at “universal” translation. :D
