The Kubran civil war

Soldiers are sent to war, that's a fact. But when they don't believe in the war what are they supposed to do? They are told why they should support it. Sometimes they are sent without even bieng convinced. What happens when the soldiers disobey and desert? Well, they are hunted down. Thus is the way the military works.

On tv screens all over the nation the declaration of war on Albu-Querque was announced. When a country declares war they expect their citizens to agree with it and obey. Even within a democracy the government expects full submission from the populace. This, however, is not the case. It is hard to go to war or help with a war you do not support. Many did not support the cause.

When you do not support something you usually just go on with oyur life. Although, there are those who will take action. There are those who will stand up for their beliefs and spread their words. Thus, protests are started. Because this is a protest against the government they did not protest in the government designated areas. They went straight to the parliment buildings, shouting their stance on the war. The government, of course, requires complete submission from the populace. They tried to convince the protestors to support their cause but failed horribly. Well, many people believe violence is the only way to solve a problem. A man was taken out of the crowd and shoot right before the protestors; a warning to them should they continue. They scurried away back to their homes but not before giving the officials looks of utter resentment; faces thirsting for revenge.

When a soldier cannot comply with rules he is shot or put on trial. They are called disgraces to their nation and can be shot after trial. For these reasons many soldiers desert. Soldiers did not support the war and refused to be sent to war. They desert their nations army for the cause they believe in. That is what happened in Kubra.

The execution on Parliment grounds was caught on film. When blood is involved peoples opinions can be swayed. The practices of the government seemed horrific in many peoples eyes. Some people just go on with their life as usually. Others take action. Protesting had failed and 1st blood had been drawn, war was to happen. Soon all stocks of weapons in gun shops and in the black market were all taken. The Kubran civil war was ready to begin

Nations of the world,
My name is Eric Hurlandial, the leader of the anti-war movement. Recently, our proud nation went to war with a respectable nation, Albu-Querque. We do not support the descision of the government who dishonours the name of Kubra, we even suspect they are taking bribes. You see, sometimes freedom goes too far. There are some freedoms that must be restricted for humanity to prosper. Albu-Querque is one of thosr nations who restrict those freedoms for the betterment of humanity. So, we decided to protest. However, thy saw need to kill one of their own respectable citizens. For this they cannot be forgiven. We haveobtained many armaments and weapons, though we fear it will not be enough. For that we ask for your help, honourable nations of the world. Please, do not let this corrupt government dirty the proud name of Kubra. Please, we beg for assistance.

The Palisade, Aequatian Republic

President Saltzman was reading over field reports that were coming in from the operations within Red Tide when word received him of the atrocities that had been occuring within the nation of Kubra. One of his intelligence advisors had mentioned that a civil war was very likely and that taking down the government forces would already be weakened with a conflict and be easy to aid the rebel groups, despite the lack of Navy support for the operation due to the ongoing mission in Red Tide and the current reorganization and commissioning of the aircraft carriers.

----------

Hawker Air Force Base, Arrio, Aequatius Prime

The entire 4th Air Force had been put on alert as the base came alive with activity. Ground crews loaded weapons onto fighters and bombers as tanker trucks provided them with their fuel, pilots were in squadron buildings listening to briefings concerning their individual missions in the coming operations. Major Lance Ramon, one of the pilots of a B-12A Vanquisher bomber was sitting at his crew's table with a pen and pad of paper in front of him as their squadron commander read off their orders. He took note of the weapons loadout, mostly satellite-guided stand-off munitions, although they had a pair of the new "Black Mamba" air-launched cruise missiles.

Elsewhere on the base, Captain Justin "Shrike" Hermes, a pilot of an F-1C Banshee fighter sat in the rear of a Wolf general-purpose vehicle as it drove across the tarmac towards the hangers that held the fighters. He felt bored with his assignment, escorting bombers that did not need his help with all the equipment they had aboard, and grudgingly accepted his duties as he jumped off the truck and walked over to his waiting aircraft.

RNS Sabre

Colonel Marcus Halstein walked along the flight deck of the assault ship as his unit, the recently formed 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, began boarding the ship using the ramps connected to the harbour for the infantry as the landing craft shuttled the heavier equipment such as armoured vehicles and artillery aboard at the stern of the vessel. The Sabre would be sailing with a hastily organized task force by morning for the nation of Kubra, the rest of the group consisted of the older fleet carriers Hera and Hestia, the battleship Valkyrie, cruisers Warrior and Warspite, destroyers Marcotte and Archibald, the frigate Gregory and the supply ship Hurst. At dawn they would be ready for mobilization and would make full steam for their target.

Captain Leonard Albright sat in his quarters as his boat moved over the surface of the water, he was leading a force of four Phantom class submarines as a vanguard screen for Task Force Sabre that would be leaving port the following morning, it would be their role to sweep the sea clean of enemy vessels that would attempt to intercept the Aequatian ships. The submarines were moving in line formation, each about ten kilometres apart, on the surface for the time being until they came close to Kubran waters, which at that point they would dive and conduct their primary role, hunting enemy vessels.

I will support your movement, but I must inquire. Are you going to overthrow the current government? If so, what kind of government are you willing to set up?

I ask these questions because, I find interest in your country. If you wish I would help set up a government with you, based off of my current system.

Also, I will help supply you with weapons and munitions, and vehicles. I also pledge to send troops in also.

Guns. They are carried by many people, always for protection. Although, sometimes they are used for people ot be killed, they always are for protection. Even if you fire the 1st shot you fire the rest for protection. Thus, battles start. The pops of gunfire were loud and clear at this small armoury. A raid group of 50 rebels were storming it, overwhelming the 2 guards. They both fell to the ground without firing shot, blood spilling and scenting the earth with death. This armoury was close to the Sharqi Reserve base, which had over 1,000 men. This was meant to be a quick raid to take munitions and weaponry.

This new government is meant to be without corruption. Basically, we want Kubra to be what it once was. If we win this war then I will not immediatly come into power, I will let the people vote. We wish for democracy to run true through Kubra.

The reporter on screen began his introduction.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the Prime Minister of Upper Weston, Tyler Hutchins."

The feed quickly cut to the Prime Minister's Office in Bourne House in the capital of McComb. Hutchins was in his trademark suit and wore a look of concern.

"My fellow Upper Westonians, as you may know this morning the government of the Democratic Republic of Kubra ordered its troops to open fire on peaceful protestors of their nation's unjust war against Albu-Querque. As a result several nations have denounced this heinous act and are preparing military action to bring down the corrupt and immoral governent of Kubra."

"My friends, Upper Weston is a peaceful nation but there is a time for peace and a time for action. Now is the time for action. The Republic of Upper Weston will stand beside our friends in the internatiional community and the people of Kubra in this endeavour."

"To the people of Kubra, we have quarrell with you, our fight is with your government, we urge to do whatever it takes to stay safe in the coming conflict."

"To the military of Kubra, your government has betrayed you, they have sent into an unjust war and ordered you to fire on the very people you have sworn to protect. They are not worthy of your support or your lives. Lay down your arms and join our cause, your country is under attack from within, let us protect you, as you have protected it for years."

"To our friends in the world community, we pledge our every resources to this effort, we stand with you as we stand with the Kubran people."

"Friends, there is no good in war, but there is good in why you fight wars. We go to war not for land, not for oppression, but to restore and protect freedom."

"Thank you and God bless us all."

With that the tansmission faded out.

The anchor returned to the screen. "There you have it that was Prime Minister Hutchins....."

Captain – no, Vice Admiral, he had to keep reminding himself – Hawking was busy reading over the last exercise reports. “Still operating at 85% efficiency. Can we do anything to increase our combat capability?” He put aside the data reports and took a sip from the coffee he had.

“Sir!” The ensign that apparently followed the good Vice Admiral around everywhere skidded onto the deck. “Incoming transmission from New Saris. We're being dispatched to a new battle zone. Aralonian Fleet Registry suggests that we register whatever vessels we have under our command.”

“Good suggestion. Input fleet data now.”

All across Aralonian ships in the 2nd fleet, the new sensors manager systems blinked into life. A green arrow shape appeared around the data point for the Elson, with a similarly colored rectangle appearing around the one carrier in the vicinity, Praetor. The cruisers were marked with parallelograms, the destroyers with diamonds, and the frigates with squares. Submarines were appearing as hexagons, and auxiliary craft were highlighted as green vertical rectangles. Even the Witchunter in the vicinity was marked with the green arrow shape normally reserved for battleships. The special craft, however, were marked with an inverted Y and were gently pulsing red.

Guns are quite loud things, they have to be since they launch projectiles at such strenghth. Although, one way to quite them is the use of a silencer. Although, silencers are quite expensive. That's why these rebels did not fight with silencers. Naturally, they were overheard by the men sleeping in their barracks. Still, they had managed to get into the armoury. They grabbed a few smoke grenades and lobbed them as hard as they could so it could give them cover. 2 Pickup trucks drove to them and they dumped as many of the guns and ammo as they could into them. One of the 30. calibers they stole was set on a bipod and was shot into the smoke. Then 3 more smoke grenades were thrown and everyone loaded into the trucks. They drove away, leaving only blood.

The task force plowed through the water as the numerous fighters and airborne early warning aircraft ran their air combat patrols along the perimeter. Colonel Halstein spoke with his unit's commanding officers as they prepared for operations, they would have to wait to be committed to battle until the allied forces had been organized for action, as they were already grossly outnumbered by the Kubran government forces.

Major Ramon sat in the pilot's seat of the B-12A bomber as it lifted off the runway and formed up with the other aircraft of the wing. The entire bomber wing was to strike at targets within Kubra, the seventy two aircraft were assigned separate targets with the weapons they carried aboard, many being military targets such as communitcation bunkers and air defence systems while others included power production and distribution hubs around the nation. The other bomber wings would be conducting the same missions after them, striking at airfields and ground installations.

Captain Hermes and his flight of F-1C fighters were flying alongside a group of bombers as they set their course for Kubra, since the smaller aircraft lacked the range of the larger B-12A aircraft, they would be meeting with the KC-17 tankers that were in position for rendezvous.

Among the 50 raiders Eric was among them. He would not be some tactician, staying from the battle and looking at maps. He would be a soldier, one who is within the heart of the action. IT had taken him a while to gather other people who supported his cause. He had connecitons in the other cities but he had no organized force. He had already raided the Militia base armoury so he could not stay within the city limits much longer. There was a few small farmsteads and a small town on the way ot the capital. Eric guessed he could probably be able to get an additional 15 men before they entered the capital. Form there they would gather what rebels he could and form a raid on the parliment.

The waters were not unguarded. A patrol boat fitted with a mortar cannon cut through the water like, well, you get the point. In it's course it spotted ships in the distance. The mortarman/navigator hurried from the mortar cannon on the front and into the small cabin. There weren't supposed to be any naval ships doing drills around here. That meant those were foreign ships. "Patroller to base", he said into the microphone. "we've spotted unidentified forces", then he spoke the estimated coordinates of the unidentified ship, which would soon be discovered to be a flotilla.

Captain Albright was called to the CIC as the enemy patrol craft came into range, "What all do they have out there"

The petty officer sitting at the passive sonar station looked up, the executive officer standing next to him, "Small craft, a patrol boat most likely by the screws," He said, the headphones half on his ears.

The XO looked at Albright, "What do you want to do?"

He barely paused for a moment before speaking, "Dive to twenty five metres and slow to one-third speed," Ordered Albright as he looked at the XO, "Flood tubes one and three, I want to fire a pair of 540s."

"Aye, Sir," Replied the XO as he walked over to the intercom and pressed the transmit button, "Forward Weapons, CIC, flood tubes one and three, prepare to fire the mark sixties."

"Roger that, CIC, flooding tubes," Came the reply as a moment passed, "They're ready, waiting command."

The captain nodded to the young commander and the XO spoke, "Weapons free, fire one and three."

"Aye, Sir, one and three away, fish in the water," Heard the command centre as the two 540mm torpedoes sped through the water towards the patrol boat, their passive sonar listening for the engines of the Kubran vessel and as soon as they picked up on the props of the patrol boat, the weapons began pinging as they locked on their course towards the ship.

A large grin came across the XO's face as he replied, "Aye, Sir!"

The other three submarines moved through the water as the flotilla closed to within ninty kilometres of the shore and broke off into pairs to sweep the waters of any other enemy vessels.

Hawking sat in his bridge chair as the fleet ran its course towards Kubra, the battleship had formed up next to the carrier and provided it with protection with its vast anti-aircraft armament, shielding it from harm with its large signature as well, knowing it could take much more punishment than the carrier which was filled with aircraft, fuel and munitions all ready for battle. The prows of the fleet's vessels moved through the water with grace as well below, scouting ahead were the submarines, looking ahead like vampire bats search for helpless moths. Rear-Admiral Alyx Porter stood on the stern helicopter deck as the CV-22 Osprey transport lifted off behind her, the ship's executive officer led her to the CIC where she would talk with the ship's captain before taking command of the entire task force. She was a veteran destroyer officer, first serving on the RNS Archangel during the Lasatania fiasco, and went on to command a destroyer in each class up until the introduction of Erschoff class vessels. The walk was quiet as she examined the battleship's interior, which differed little from any other ship in the fleet, simplicity and functionality was the key to Aequatian ship construction. It was only a matter of minutes before she was led into the command centre and met briefly with Captain William Staff before there was a short ceremony in which the admiral was given command of the small fleet of vessels which were still twelve hundred kilometres from Kubran waters, it would be an entire day's worth og sailing before the task force would reach Kubran waters.

The ship had been quiet since the kill was made, any unnecessary noise could easily give away the boat's position, despite its nearly-silent engines which produced a sonar signature so small it was difficult to distinguish from the normal ocean noises that flooded passive sonar arrays. She was moving with the Demon in tow, the other sub followed off port about twelve kilometres behind the Wraith. Albright stood in the CIC, a cup of coffee in hand, as the submarine's passive sonar operator listened carefully for the signature sounds of enemy vessels such as screws, he adjusted one of the settings on his terminal as he strained to listen through his headphones.

Major Ramon pulled the sleek bomber away from the hulking KC-17 Supertanker and allowed his wingman to take his place to refuel. The B-12A moved back into the tight formation behind the tanker as the fighter escorts kept a close eye on the horizon, should enemy aircraft show up. Ramon looked over at his co-pilot, a young first lieutenant that was on his first combat deployment, he offered him a cup of coffee from his white thermos, "You okay there, lieutenant?"

The young man nodded as he accepted the cup, "Yes, Sir, just glad to be doing my duty for the Republic," He said before taking a drink.

He could not help but smile at the officer's comment as he took back the empty cup and shook his head, "Don't give me that crap, when we're up here, we do it for everyone in the damned bomber, fuck the Republic."

The lieutenant smiled as the mood lightened in the cockpit, "Yes, Major, I'll keep that in mind," He said as Ramon poured himself some of the coffee and took a swig.

At another KC-17, Captain Hermes watched as his wingman finished refueling and rejoined him along the perimeter, protecting the bombers as they formed back up along the course to Kubra. He checked his aircraft's loadout again as they adjusted their positions, six AIM-120C AMRAAMs along with four AIM-132 ASRAAM weapons and the full compliment of 27mm rounds for the aircraft's cannon, like the other forty F-1C Banshee fighters escorting the bombers, he was fully prepared, and hoping, that the Kubran Air Force would be foolish enough to attempt stopping them.

The first of 20 Ro/Ro transports slid out of Doveridge harbor in northern Upper Weston a little after midnight, the ships help 3 full reigiments of Upper Westonian troops and supplies for 30 days hard fighting. For the first time in its history, Upper Weston was going to war.

Lt. Col. Ryan Seymour was eating his usual breakfast of eggs and bagels and looking over the intel on Kubra. There was no doubt they were outnumbered, but most Kubran units plagued with desertion and partisan attacks they had an opening. Their only chance would be to move quickly to knock out the center of mass of the government and take down the leadership, if the Kubran Army could mass and reorganize, the small Coalition contingent could be driven into the sea. His job was to open the door, to secure port facilities for the Army boys coming behind to unload and push to the capital. His Battalion Landing Team was made up of a Marine infantry battalion, a company of Hellcat light tanks, a LVTP company, an artillery battery, combat engineer company, MP platoon, air defense battery, and support attachments. All in all he had about 1,300 troops for this job, but he was being promised some help from the hot shots in the 2nd Airmobile Regiment. Maybe this would work.

Albright knew his boat would be hard to detect and that he would have no problem getting the first shots off, the only problem was the amount of shots he could fire. With only six tubes, he would have to leave one target alone for the time it took to reload in order to engage the others. He turned to the XO, "Periscope depth, I want to take a look," He said as the submarine slowly moved to a more shallow depth and the periscope poked through the surface and traversed as the captain observed the enemy Ticonderoga cruisers, it was only above the surface for six seconds before he turned to the XO again, "Scope down, arm the sixties in tubes one and three, fire one each at the Ticos along with the Typhoons in tubes two and four. Hold the heavy-sevens in case the sixties and the missiles don't do the job."

"Aye Sir," Came the reply as the crew began working to fight, the XO turned to the intercom again, "Forward weapons, CIC, flood tubes one, three, five and six and prepare to fire the Typhoons from two and four."

"Affirmative, CIC, flooding tubes," The chief replied as the weapons team worked, moments later he replied, "Tubes flooded and Typhoons configured for launch."

"Contacts isloated, we're ready to fire, captain," Said the passive sonar operator.

Albright nodded to the XO who thumbed the button on the intercom, "Forward Weapons, CIC, fire at will."

300 kilometres North of Karkand, Kubra, at 1,200 metres.

The B-12A bomber began dropping its altitude as the entire wing and its fighter escorts approached the coastline. Ramon handled the control stick carefully as he turned to his countermeasures officer, "Anything on your scopes, Jim?"

Captain Jim "Swatter" Rankin sat back in his seat, "Nothing yet, for a nation that was gearing for war, they really don't seem to be expecting it," He thought back to when he joined the Air Force, he wanted to be a fighter pilot, but his reaction time was not quick enough and he was religated to a bomber crew, where his technical knowledge became an essential asset as a countermeasures officer, "Trust me, you'll know when they've got something up."

The aircraft's wings swept back as it increased its speed to nearly 1,960km/h along with the other bombers and the escort fighters. The weapons officers aboard each aircraft prepared the systems aboard the bombers, the ALCMs would be striking at power transformers close to built-up areas around Karkand while the direct-attack munitions would guide themselves in against outlying targets such as airfields and larger bridges. The co-pilot checkd his watch and looked over at Ramon, "Twenty minutes to weapons release!"

In response, the Kubran Government has been replaced by the rebels in the treaty and the rebels are now under protection of the AMAP treaty. The exhausted military could not hold well. Altohugh, many of thme hide within the subway. Around 6,000 soldiers were left, compared to the 15,000 that guarded the city. Althoguh, because of the quick attack the rebels were only able ot amass a force around 400. They were coming udner heavy fire form the soldier whom had drifven down the road in their jeeps. The soldiers leaped out, using the jeeps as cover. The rebels did not have much cover. Those who did not jump into alleyways went into prone positions.

Meanwhile, a small aptrol of 11 men spotted the legions. They had 1 30 caliber amoung them but that was about good enough for a small attack, only enoguh to suprise them. Still, they had something of a chance to kill. The radioman sent coordinates to the militia base and the 30 cal set up. The desgnated marksman also set up his sights.

The Faust legions' swift advance into the city did not extend into the subway, though the entrences were destroyed and grenades dropped inside. The main goals at this point were to take the perimeter of the city and reinforce the rebels.

One section came into contact with a small, tenecious band of government fighters. They had an excellent postion, but heavy fire and several grenades hit the position, and, once the dust cleared, the Faust Commandos moved in for the kill.

Gunfire between rebels and government forces could be heard not far off, and the Faust forces quickened their pace. They were ready for more combat.

The plan was working well. Errikland forces had taken the perimeter of the city while the spec ops team was waiting in cover for orders.

The commander of the squad put a finger to his ear. He nodded and then gestured towards a subway.

Whispering he said, "Bombers reported movements into the subways."

The team then moved towards the nearest subway and enterd the dark.

as the grenades exploded the gunner feel forwards, shrapnel in many places in his body. The men had taken cover, only having a few light wounds Although, around 4 guy lost an limbs and 3 others were completely perforated by gunfire.. One of the guys was lying down, screaming in pain while his blood gushed out from the gaping wound. Another man was trying to tend to his writhing body, although with very little luck. One of the troopers was not fast enough, and found himself thrown to the ground, half from his attempted dodge and half from the shot as it struck him. He was quickly dragged to the side, and the rest of the soldiers drew concentrated circles of birst fire into the area of the source of the fire.

Two other soldiers quickly came up the flank, painting the area with gunfire before quickly advancing. They came across the man who had lost his limbs and, after one muttered a quick prayer, put him out of his mysery with a single painless shot. They then proceeded to advance on the enemy's position.

The injured were hurried off, along with any Kubrans that could possibly be saved, and the Faust Commandos continued off to the fighting.

"Fire at will."

The soldier confirmed his target out the open window before firing his SRAW anti-tank missle at the nearest vehicle. The explosion was the signal, and the others inside the buildings opened fire. Most carried AE5s, and fired in brief, concentrated bursts aimed at the infantry and any visible personel. Others bore SRAWs, and continued to focus on the vehicles.

The buildings were excellent cover, but the soldiers did not take many chances. Most moved constantly, not allowing the enemy a chance to blast their position.

The few soldiers on the first floor barely had time to move out of the way, but their filters canceled out most of the brightness and sound.

Those on the second or higher stories were still active, however, and layed down heavy amounts of fire on the soldiers who headed for the buildings. They recieved heavy fire from the Kubrans on the road, but the heavy fire that those men faced from other Errikans coupled with the occasional flash-bang in the road more than made up for this.

The Medics were largely indistiguishable from the Kubran soldiers, and were mowed down whenever they revealed themselves.

Men were already covered behind vehicles so the flying debris was not much of a problem. The men stopped with the petty flashbangs and threw in fragmentation grenades. There wasn't an incendiary grenades among them, just a bottle of beer. So, the men put in a piece of gauze and made a Molotov Cocktail. It took a while, the guy didn't want to give up his alcohol. The guy next t him took a shot right through the head, slumping over with his blood flying into the air. The face of the mn went ale as he finally gave up his beer.

The blast threw the men in the room, who fortunately had already been heading away. They were thrown along with the pieces of wall inward. Injuries and casualties were not immediately assessed, as those able struggled to pull the rest away from the opening and the fire and grenades of the Kubrans. Most were brought from the room before the grenades blew, and were rushed to Errikan medical supplies. Those that weren't, weren't.

The troops in other places continued to fire downward from all sides, focusing their fire primarily on those who were protected from another side. The SRAWs were largely moved to the roofs (where it was a bit safer), but they continued their fire on the vehicles, destroying those that they hit along with whoever was behind them.

OOC: Ah, the joys of miscommunication in RPs

As the Moltov burst through the broken window, the nearby men, who were unfortunate enough to be heading towards the window, had little time to react. It hit the ground and flame burst everywhere. Their gear was unflammable, but the heat in the room was intense, and they stumbled out as fast as they could, overwhelmed and sputtering in their helmets. Training had not included walking through intense flame in a small room with no notice, and little experience involved it.

Meanwhile, in other parts of the defense, Errikan bullets pounded the enemy positions from all angles, with the occasional random hunk of metal in the air providing little more than comic relief. The arrival of the rebels, however, did have a noticiable impact on the troops, who gave up a cheer and intensified their fire to cover their flanking brothers-in-arms.

It was then that there was a roar overhead. A roar of Errikan jets, carrier based. This roar was followed by the grumbling sound of approaching Krokidil heavy battle tanks.

Men shot form every window of the building, giving only bursts of fire before ducking out of the line of fire. On the roof there were machine gunners and snipers, killing as many as they could.

After the brief surprise, the soldiers quickly took shelter in the rubble all around the parliment. They focused their machine gun fire on those who, even for a moment, were visible and thus open while avoiding revealing themselves. The tanks, largely concealed by rubble themselves, blasted away the tank traps as they approached and then continued to take out chunks of the building, mostly those with enemies near or behind it, with their main turrets while using their machine guns just as the troops did.

The helicopters, which had been used mostly to sweep the majority of the city after the fighting had passed due to technical difficulties delaying their deployment, were now used. They made rapid passes by and over the building, spraying machine gun fire and the occasional missle into enemy positions while only briefly presenting targets.

After a moment of this, the jets swooped down for bombing runs. They blasted sections of the roof with light bombs and carpeted many areas of enemy holdings with napalm. The flames would fry the area, but were far too brief to light the building itself. Many planes took advantage of their own machine guns to attack the enemy positions.

Now they had to wait for word from the Kubran rebels . . .

Now they had to wait for word from the Kubran rebels . . . OOC: SOrry for late reply, I've been sucked in by the world of gaming and possibly Japanese animation.

Anyways, what's the difference between your soldiers and the parliment?

I have no idea what you are asking.

OOC; The distance, how far from the Parliment are your soldiers?

OOC: It varies, but from about 50 to 300 yards from the Parliment

After the brief surprise, the soldiers quickly took shelter in the rubble all around the parliment. They focused their machine gun fire on those who, even for a moment, were visible and thus open while avoiding revealing themselves. The tanks, largely concealed by rubble themselves, blasted away the tank traps as they approached and then continued to take out chunks of the building, mostly those with enemies near or behind it, with their main turrets while using their machine guns just as the troops did.

Now they had to wait for word from the Kubran rebels . . . Machine guns weren't meant to be very accurate, more for coveirng and supressing fire. Hits onto the soldiers were rare but the machine guns did their job suppressing the soldiers, less bullets were now flying from the parliment.

The helicopters were the real threat, casualties by them were common. There were not many stingers, maybe around 3 or 5 of them in the building. The men manning them fired what they could at the helicopters from the steps on the roof, which had mroe ocver than the roof itself.

The roof was massacred, although there was many fortifications it was simply too open. Everyone left on the roof, which was very little, went down the stairs. The roof was now completely open, the men with stingers had enough sense to leave.

One chopper took a serious hit from a stinger, but the pilot maintained control and put it down well behind friendly lines. Other helicopters managed to avoid the stingers, but took some fire from small arms. Still, they had done their job, and now began landing troops on the roof rapidly. These men hurried to secure the various entrences to the roof, but did not advance yet. The tanks were in position to blast through the wall, but waited for a moment.

THe last of the machine guns were redeployed into the halls way in order to halt the enemy advance. Men stopped firing out the windows and took positions inside various rooms to ambush Errikan troops advancing through the building. Other soldiers went to the front foyer and took up positions to mow down any soldiers that got through.

Meanwhile, sometihng was happening in the basement. A floor panel opened up and out popped a man in civilian clothing, the rbels had infiltrated the building.

OOC: Okay

IC: Having waited for the specified period of time, the tanks took action. Their main cannons opened up on the parliment building itself, blasting the wall as if it were paper mache(sp?). The helicopters aided as well, aiming their heavy machine guns and rockets at the besieged sections.

The men on the roof moved what little they had to to get out of the way of the collapsing sections of the roof, which caved in fairly quickly. The tanks payed the large sections of roof little heed, blasting through them just as they had the wall.

Meanwhile, the Errikan jets swooped down on the parlimentary walls on the other end of the building, where the bulk of the rebel forces said they would be, and, with bombs, missles, and bullets, blasted much of it to smiterines in moments before pulling out.

A message was sent to the Kubran rebels: Strike now.

That was the messsage sent back to the Errikan troops. The attacks by Errikan troops had sent the soldiers into utter confusion, their morale severly low. Soldiers were surrendering left and right, having lost the will to fight. Kubran rebels swept thorugh the building, clearing out remaining resistance. The battle was coming to a quick close, the war was over. Freedom had been victorious.

OOC: End! Now I can join RPs without the restriction of my civil war. Yea, I was thinking of doing some cobalt bomb testing. You might want to join in.

OOC: Wow, that was abrupt. Consider my troops pulled out and stuff. What do you mean "cobalt bomb testing"?
