As Super-power's energy fleet "mines" Helium-3 in the high-gravity environment of Jupiter, they soon needed a mobile suit which could operate under such intense conditions. After numberous failed designs, the energy fleet's mobile suit engineers finally developed the XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam (http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/katoki/xm-x1.jpg).
What set this suit apart from other prototypes was its unique flexible X-shaped thrusters, providing unparalleled maneuverability and speed when the four thrusters were locked together. Additionally, it had a pair of beam shields, technology which was usually reserved for Super-power's MS special forces.
