(OOC: As this is the first RP for GII, I would like it to be exclusivly GII, later RP's will be open to everybody though, under the conditions set down under Rule One in the GII topic.
A GII'er to play the resistance would be welcomed :))

IC:
Years ago now, the Tandu had arrived on Xantini. Having set about the job of 'Tanduforming' it to their prefrences, they now looked for more worlds. For Xantini, while it was rich in many aspects, lacked a number of resources critical to the development of the Tandu, specifically Uranium. Only a few piddling tons of it could be found across the entire planet, not nearly enough to fuel the Tandu economy.
The Tandu looked due Galactic North for their next colony.
The world they called Sh'tkar was not as hospitable as Xantini. It had a blue sun, at least, but was just a bit too close for comfort. It had life, and that life was theoretically sentient (although vastly inferior to the Tandu, of course).
It was mostly desert, and what wasnt desert was scrubland. The natives had somehow gotten out of the stone age and invented hydroponics to feed their own populace, which was fine by the Tandu.

The Fleet, or what was left of it, departed Xantini with great pomp, for the Tandu. One of the Hive Lords even made a speech, which was short and to the point.
"They have what we need, so were going to go take it. Progenitors guide you."

Now the six ships of the Tandu fleet that had enough fuel to make it to Sh'tkar set out, traveling slowly to preserve their precious fuel. Like syrup, they crept towards Sh'tkar, if syrup was cold and hard and horribly beweaponed, that is.

Several months later, they arrived.
The beings, whatever they were, had space vessels now, they had not seen these from far Xantini, but perhaps they had simply not looked hard enough. It did not matter, these ships would blacken the skies of their world as they fell back to it, the Tandu would see to that.
The Leading Stalker gestured to the Pilot, "Commence the attack. Leave none alive, once we land, then we can talk. It would be impractical to exterminate all of them."

"This is Shuttle XQ1 to Ground Center, we have some pretty major disturbances up here!" To the eyes of the freshly trained pilots of the new Sh'tkar (OOC: jus' gunna call them that cos i'm lazy) there was no-one in the galaxy bar the Sh'tkar themselves, it was fortunate then that these Shuttles had been launched with the intention of finding and taking another hospitable planet, they had weapons....

"Ground to XQ1, charge weapons, fire when ready!" The Captain nodded and the black shuttles which followed him all began to activate their seperate weapons, bolts of thunder popped out from the shuttles as they fired as quick as was possible.

One of the shots struck the forward Tandu ship, crashing through the 'eyes' of the metaphorical dragonfly, leaving a gaping hole in the front of the ship. Several bodies were jettisoned from the hole left by the passing round, quickly left behind by the fast moving Tandu ships.
They came on though, rapidly closing with the primitive shuttlecraft, while the Episiarch, while being prodded by the Tandu, was doing its best to think some of the opposition out of existance. It was not having much success.

(OOC: are ye not gonna open fire?)

Bolstered by the fact that this advanced enemy had not yet opened fire the Shuttles began to disperse and take evasive action, they took potshots at the enemy fleet not caring much for the onboard targetting computers but more for spray and pray, the overconfidence of the primitives...

(OOC:
Whoops, I was assuming they were firing as they came. Meh :P)

IC:
Waiting until they were at point blank range, the Tandu let loose with a volley of withering firepower, missiles, assorted cannons and a nasty psychic blast from the Episiarch.
The Tandu ships took a few hits, most of these glancing off or simply being absorbed by the ships shields, low powered as they were, they could deal with an occasional 'ping' from such low-powered weapons.

The Experimental Shuttles went down in balls of fire as the last few remaining made attempts in vain to hold off the more advanced enemy, they knew it was no good and the Ground forces had been mobolised to defend from an attack, they knew that would do little aswell due to the possibility of an orbital bombardment.

Unnoticed by the combatants, a small fleet of ships came into existence on the other side of the planet. Immediately, they began accelerating to enter the planet's atmosphere at a low angle, to a point near to the attacker's bombardment...

[OOC: These are pretty small ships, and are not easily detectable. They are troop carriers for the most, and some tactical ships (Close air support). Bah, I'm so lazy. I'll post again tomorrow.]

Establishing themselves in Orbit, the Tandu began to unleash a withering barage on the planet. They would fire continuosly with one sides guns, then turn the ship and fire with the other side to avoid heating issues.
The Tandu mostly targetted large structures visible from orbit, picking out the occasional missile or bunker if it looked to be a threat.

"Evacuate all buildings, launch all missiles, have our important members of goverment taken to the safety bunker!" The members of the military crew rushed about in getting these orders fulfilled, they occasionally stopped but where whipped into moving by the General, soon they had the entire missile system closing targets on the enemy fleet, most missiles were, however, being destroyed before arrival and the troops morale was sinking further.

The small fleet of ships came into sight of the beginnings of a city. They continued their descent, aiming to land just inside the outskirts, near the suburbs. The few tac ships in the group flew slightly above the transports, utilizing ECM systems to draw away any missiles that might decide to come their way...

"This is a call to all civilians, arm yourself, Hostile Aliens have landed in the suburbs of major cities, we have called the army to quash major threats and will be dealing with these intruders as quickly as possible." The word spread out as Civilians grabbed Rifles and Electrolasers, they marched out ready to fight for thier country, for thier planet!

The ships began landing whereever they could, on streets, in parks, and in parking lots. From each lander came 2 squads of Legionnaires, and a squad of 5 Steel Legionnaire combat drones. One of the tactical frigates hovering above began broadcasting from a loudspeaker.

"Do not panic! We are here to help evacuate! I repeat..."

Chances were that the aliens wouldn't be able to understand the language, but the troops helped by fanning out to search the city for civilians to escort back to the ships. The robots stayed by the ships, motionless.

They did not expect to find an armed populace...

(OOC: oh man, a get out of jail free card and ICly I have to make it so that my troopers attack, dang!)

People had barricaded them inside tower blocks which still stood and on street corners or other covered areas, they did not wait for the enemy to attack first and all those who could see an alien opened fire with Electrolasers and rifles, smoke filled the cities and towns as the combined firepower of the metropolis descended onto the streets.

Tandu ships rapidly descended, not deigning to notice the other aliens as of yet, they focused on the first group of beings. With a few precise blasts each, they had begun to take out buildings in the various cities they targetted. They were now within the atmosphere, close enough for their targetting systems to do this 'scalple work'.
Had the Stalker been capable of it, it would have grinned.
"Begin landing the troops, kill all who resist. Let them know who their masters are." It gestured to the other Stalkers on the bridge, who filed out to their landing craft.

With a loud series of Whump!s, the ships landing pods detached, rocketing down towards the worlds surface, hundreds, maybe thosands, of pods created what would have been a rather nice effect, if it hadntve been for the fact that each of those pods housed a number of Tandu warriors.

The first legionnaire to turn the corner was hit by a hail of bullets and staggered back, his armor absorbing all but a few hits. He fell to the ground as the rest of the squad backed away hurridly. They decided to go house to house, instead, looking for those civilians who hadn't immediately evacuated. The rest of the squads proceded similarily.

Back near the ships, the eerily silent robot sentinels stirred to life as the alien pods came hurtling down from the sky. Optical sensors began sweeping the area, looking for any signs of hostile life.

The civilians were too busy holding off the suposidly(sp?) invading alines to notice the drop pods landing close by, the Military had noticed the pods and were sending attack buggies to the landing zones in order to fight off the invasion forces.

With booming explosions of dirt, concrete, and assorted parts of various beings that happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, the pods crashed to Earth.
Each one disgorged perhaps ten Tandu, who emerged firing precise shots. They didnt simply spray the street, they would stop briefly, take careful aim, and take down a target with a lethal shot, and then keep on advancing down the streets. Occasionally one would stop to hurl an explosive into a building that looked as though it might be occupied.
This usually had fantastic results as most of the buildings in the city were already weakened by numerous impacts from the Tandu ships or the drop pods. Several collapsed when the bombs/grenades dealt them a final blow and with a stately groan, they fell in on themselves or simply collapsed into the streets, crushing soldiers and civilians of all involved more often than not.
The Tandu were advancing in a vast 'wave' as each party joined up in a vauge line, moving through the city until they were nearly a solid wall of green death, killing everything moving in the streets.

Troopers and Civilians fled from falling rubble and chunks of Girder which had exploded and warped into odd shapes before falling onto the streets below, there was no order in this scene as people of all rank and class fled for anywhere they could find, safe or otherwise.

Taking advantage of the blind panic beginning to envelop the city, Legionnaires began forcefully abducting as many fleeing civilians as they could. The muscular enhancements in their body armor allowed them to easily heft a full grown man, while the robot sentinels spread out to move securely cover the landing sites. Anything to look even the slightest bit threatening was to be vaporized with extreme prejudice.

The mission WOULD be successful. The legionnaires would see to that, or die rather than fail the Emperor.

The Tandu continued to commit assorted acts of violence while the ships above ceased firing to avoid totally destroying their own forces.
The ships began to hover over the city, circling and occasionally blasting groups of people that attempted to gather in significant numbers.

The Tandu were now focusing on these others, since the natives were too busy running to bother with much else. They began to take shots at the armour, probing it for weak spots and concentrating on those.
A large number of Tandu were going down now that they were encountering resistance, several good sized piles of insectoid corpses were forming up.

As the Ftagn transports began to be full of panicked civilians, the Legionnaires started blasting themselves a path back to the craft. Gauss rifles tearing bloody swathes out of pressing mobs of fleeing citizens, each squad made it's way back to it's assigned dropship. The robots fired wildly at the surrounding landscape, leveling buildings surrounding the landing sites.

One by one, the ships began to take their leave. The 'rescued' citizens began to realize their misfortune when the soldiers began forcing them all into makeshift prison cells...

Poor buggers!

The sneakshp spy/scout mite droid had tailed the erratic Northern Barbarian Confederation from the edge of Melii and Fatgn borders half a galaxy away. The trip had consisted primarly on minor raids and large acts of piracy... that was until they had inexplicably entered into a system with multiple signatures.

The Pirates had landed forces and apparently lifted off and then left the system. The probe's AI was a crossroads... to chase or let it be. Since he had basically crossed over half of the Galaxy Melii resources were mostly tied up in the Project, neverthless the old ones remembered their youth and were wary of the aggressive tribe. Resources were made avalaible to keep tabs on possibly interesting specimans.

With typical precision, the Tandu destroyers floating above began to pound the area around the ships, focusing some of their weapons on the ships as well. Tandu ground forces were suffering heavily from the damage taken by assaulting the other aliens taking captives, but they were making headway, especially with the assistance of the destroyers.

As the ships began to gain altitude, they came under fire from the invading forces. A tactical frigate caught an enemy missile and slammed down hard into the ground, totally destroyed. The rest of the frigates circled around to distract fire away from the transports as they fled the planet. Two transports were caught by enemy fire and exploded in air, while the rest accelerated madly to escape destruction.

[OOC: Yeah, the pilots really don't care about any legionnaries or robots left on the ground. They're just gonna fight to the death.]
