Enterprise Surveys Beta Quadrant (open FT)

OOC: This is open because the Enterprise will encounter other races. I don't have a problem if she is attacked. It will make it interesting. I don't want Enterprise destroyed, if you want to destroy a ship, then I'll have another one join the Enterprise on a mission. I just don't want Kirk to die.

[i]Enterprise departs Primus Station in orbit of Primus III[/b]

The ISS Enterprise NCC-23 had what was without a doubt the best crew in Starfleet. Captain James Tiberius Kirk was her CO. Commander Spock doubled as XO and Science Officer. Dr. Leonard McCoy could heal almost any wound. Lieutenant Chekov was an amazing tactical officer. Uhura was an amzaing communications officer. Lieutenant (J.G.) Saavik was the least experienced of the bridge crew. She was at helm.

The Enterprise was now departing Primus Station for a very long mission. She would be exploring the Beta Quadrant. Kirk was eager to perform this mission. There were many groups he had heard of such as the Klingons and Romulans, but he had yet seen their ships at this point. He was hoping to see them and other races.

The Enterprise departed the Primus Station under impulse power. The ISS Excelsior with Captain Sulu was trailing the Constitution class starship, Enterprise. Sulu had been the helm officer during the ship's first 5 year voyage under Kirk's command. Now he was giving his old ship and captain a sendoff.

Kirk and the Enterprise headed out of Primus at full impulse.

"We are now reaching the edge of the Primus station," said Saavik.

"Scotty, prepare warp engines," said Kirk. "Saavik, begin accelerating to warp."

"Aye sir," responded Saavik. "Now at .8, .9 warp 1." The ship then was surround by blue light as the ship accelerated past warp 1. Scotty had successsfully brought the warp engines of the old constitution class starship online.

The ship settled at its cruising speed of warp 7 and continued on towards the Beta quadrant with it's sensors activated. The first destination was Sol, the place where IDF's people originated from.

ooc: wouldn't it be ironic if you ran into the warlike Kiribushi in their Romulan like ships.

Sol is out of their reach at the moment :)

ic: The newly launched NKS Katana, the latest Kagemon class vessel was cruising at impulse as moved closer to a binary star system.

the newest Captain in the Fleet was Misako Kasigi, a 27 year old woman who like the rest of her fleet was confident of handling anything.

The two squadrons of Warrior Gunboats detected the new ship.

"Commander?" The leader of Black Squadron commed to the leader of Green Squadron, who had overal command. "We've got an unidentified ship. Heading out at aproxamatly 350C. (OOC: Looked it up online, and since you are using Kirk, i'm going by the original series calculations. (LINK (http://www.star-fleet.com/ed/warp-chart.html)))"

"Green Squadron, Black Squadron. Follow me."

The twenty-four gunboats sped off at 1500 times the speed of light, quickly intercepting the unkown vessel.

"Match speeds with vessel, comm silence. Follow the leader, i'm leader." The other twenty-three gunboats formed up in a line behind Green Leader, in the standard Follow-The-Leader drill. The craft would wait untill the person ahead of them got at the end of the line before executing what the 'Leader' did. Once the leader got back to the front, he usually ended the drill or chose a new pattern.

The first pattern was relatively simple. Green Leader flew around in front of the ship, located the bridge, and then matched velocities with the ship. His tail end was pointed directly at the bridge, untill he flipped end-for-end and showed the bridge his cockpit. He waved at the people in the bridge, and then flipped again and sped off around the craft to the back of the line. "Remember to wave!"

ooc: is it the Katana or the Enterprise that you've intercepted?

ISS Enterprise NCC-22

"Captain, I have multiple contacts coming near us," said Spock as he looked at the scanner.

"Do they appear to be hostile Spock?" asked Kirk.

"Negative, Captain, they seem to be showing off," responded the Vulcan.

"I hope your right, either way go to yellow alert and raise sheilds just in case," ordered Kirk.

It turned out to be nothing and the pilots performed some amazing stunts and passed near the bridge. All of this was seen by the bridge crew on the main viewer.

OOC: If your nation is as primitive as it looks, I might be able to play with you on more-or-less level ground technologically. Unfortunately I can't very well come to you, but should the Enterprise decide to swing by the Perseus arm of the galaxy I'll be glad to initiate contact. That's quite a ways for old-school warp drive though, so I don't know if you're willing to go out of your way. I'd like to discuss alternatives if not.

The flyby, although appearing to be showing off, acchieved a little more. They found the name of the craft, and observed the reactions of the crew. The shields were raised, but that was to be expected. They seemed peaceful enough.

"Enterprise, this is the Stellar Nations Green and Black Squadrons. What is your reason for being in this area of space?"

"Stellar nations, this is Enterprise," began Uhura. "We are on an exploratory mission to survey the Beta Quadrant."

OOC: Enterprise isn't my most advanced ship. I'm right now up to mid 24th century tech as I have Ambassador class ships, which are on the new scale. I can send one of those your way to make first contact. The reason I'm having Enterprise do this is because I want it to be a 5 year mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and civilizations, and to boldly go where no man has gone before.:p

Indeed. If you decide to dispatch a ship, send me the link to the proper thread and I'll be happy to participate.

Two bright stars danced their slow dance through the nigh empty void of space amongst the starlight background of the ever changing universe. One planet traced its orbit around these two stellar lovers, its surface scorched by their combined love that radiated out fiercely into the surrounded cosmos.

It was somewhere in this system that the silver hull of a small probe glided along through space. The head of the probe appeared to be a half spheroid, which rested atop a flattened platform with a small engine burning faintly at the end. The probe had been drifting through space for years; its small faster-than-light engine had stopped functioning long ago somewhere between this system and the next, a vast emptiness the probe was forced to endure, alone.

The word Grim was emblazoned across the front of the probes head in a burnt red coloration that contrasted with the silver around it in a surreal fashion. A miniscule amount of energy emanated from the letters, warping and twisting into the cosmos like smoldering flames. Underneath lay a vast array of organic matter tied into a quagmire of wires and circuitry. Within this a sentience of sorts stirred to life.

Hmm... For why have I been awakened? A ship, a ship, a ship it seems to be. This new soul fills mine with glee, a contortion of emotions that resounds into a glorious symphony… For what shall my mind say, for what shall my mind do, to these intrepid souls that have finally found me?

The probe rotated and motioned towards the ship at low speeds, a small and repeating signal was broadcasted towards the new arrival only containing the words, "Cacophony."
