This rp starts in the year 2020. The world is now a much more totalitarian place. That is, the major powers of the world have returned to their imperialistic ambitions that they abandoned nearly a century ago. Many of these powers are also giving up democracy.
Some things are the same as today and others are different:
The Major difference is that all powers now have anti-missile technology that can stop ICBM's with relative ease, so nukes are no longer the threat they once were. The United States is still a superpower. On the other hand, so is China. The two have nearly identical GDP's (Purchasing Power Parity, not Exchange Rate). Japan along with Germany, France, England, Italy, and many of Europes other rich countries have maintained their current economies. India and Russia are on the rise.
Now, a bit needs to be said about the European Union. It has grown in power over its member states. Until now a constitution has still not been ratified, but that will change. When we rp the European Union will be just a big alliance of nations, and as soon as we hammer out a constitution things will work differently, but of course I don't know exactly how yet.
I hope I don't have to say anything about godmodding. If you don't know what godmodding is then either find out or go away.
