With recent elections going by with several moments of tension, and a few instances of near blows between the military and the lower class citizens of GProopdog, re-elected President Stephen C. Heiney has shown many signs that he is concerned for the stability not only of his country, but for other countries that border GProopdog as well.
"It's never easy, nor is it ever a happy moment to say that Civil Unrest or War might break out in your country" Heiney said in a speech last night in Maingnot, GProopdog's capital, "But right now, with all that is going on, I fear that these premonitions may be coming to life, and soon."
Heiney, who has held office in GProopdog since 1995, Is no stranger to civil tensions and unrest in his country. Back in the summer of 2000, when unemployment was, at that moment, at an all time high, citizens of the country came to what was called "small blows" with the military, and even upper class citizens several times, but thankfully, none of these brief "exchanges" led to full out Civil War, though most people were fearful that it would happen.
Many of the older citizens of GProopdog in particular, have lived with this fear, dating back to the late 1970's, when it seemed that the country was on the brink of Civil War, due to several economic problems, as well as ineffective leaders such as General H.C Riley.
Now, in 2006, with the economy not as poor as it was 30 years ago, though with other problems still in existing, as well as new ones popping up, President Heiney is imploring other nations of the world for help.
"Anything we can use from the other countries of the world, money, peace keeping forces, supplies, even in small doses, will help us considerably" Heiney stated in his speech. "I just pray that some country, any country, will have pity upon us and help as best as they can."
