Major events in Bajor (FT open)
OOC: in relation to the mysterious craft in this thread http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=485257
IC: The attack on the ISS Trump didn't go without notice. 4 mysterious craft were involved and all 4 were now destroyed after their failed attack. These new villains were not from the Alpha quadrant, but where were they coming from? There had been some ackward readings in the Bajor system.
Bajor had recently been added to the IDF empire due to their desire to join a stronger force for further protection against the always looming threat that Cardassia displayed towards the Bajorans. IDF hadn't fully upgraded the system with new sensor arrays and subspace communication relays yet, but that was being done.
The readings were coming from the Denorios Belt, a highly charged plasma field in the Bajoran system. The area was considered a navigational hazard so ships tended to ignore it. Something besides plasma storms was obviously present in the Denorios Belt. While Bajor's long distance sensors weren't completed yet, the Terok Nor station, which was soon to be renamed Deep Space Nine, was in orbit. The station's powerful sensors had indicated that there were unexplained events in the Belt that needed to be checked out.
The Excelsior class ISS Lexington was paired with the constitution (refit) class ISS Enterprise under the command of Captain James Tiberius Kirk. The 2 cruisers moved in with shields up. The ships were at a relaxed Red Alert due to the possibility that these new silver, blue, and purple ships would appear out of the belt. They slowly moved in with their auxiliary power generators activated to boost power to their sensor arrays.
They searched and searched, but they found nothing. Then, they noticed something on the viewer. A hole had opened up in the plasma storm and one of the small attack fighters appeared. The ships were in the middle of the plasma storm so they decided to power down most systems to reduce their signature and avoid detection.
"What is it?" asked Kirk as he turned to Spock.
"Fascinating Captain," began the green blooded Vulcan. "It would appear to be a wormhole. It would appear that these new invaders have been using it to travel to the Alpha quadrant. If they have been able to use it multiple times, then logic suggests that we have found what might be the only existing stable wormhole."
"Do you know what you're saying?" asked a skeptical Dr. Leonard McCoy.
"Yes Doctor," began Spock. "We know for a fact that this isn't the first time they have used this wormhole to travel here more than this time we just witnessed. We have never had a recorded instance where a wormhole has had consistent exit points. Now the readings from DS9 would confirm this has happened before as our own readings during this most recent event mirror the station's sensor readings."
"That seems very thin Spock," retored McCoy.
"Not really doctor," responded Spock. "This exit point is consistent so we know this isn't an unstable wormhole. Logic dictates thatg once you eliminate the impossible doctor, what ever remains, no matter how improbably, must be the truth."
"I'm sold on your argument," Kirk said in an effort to stop McCoy from defending what was clearly the losing side of this argument. Kirk then called out on the frequency to the Lexington. "Lexington, this is Enterprise, I think we should get out of this area and return to the DS9 with our findings. I'm sure Captain Sisko will be intrigued by this new discovery."
OOC: Please don't kill me Paramount, I really needed to get the Jem'Hadar and wormhole in here so I did borrow some ideas from episodes, but I mixed them with my own,
IC
The Enterprise and Lexington were now docked at DS9. Captain Benjamin Sisko was very surprised with the news. Since DS9 was his command, and he was in charge of IDF ships in the Bajoran system, he would go out there with the ISS Saratoga and the other 2 ships to explore it.
Sisko had no idea, but he had been destined since his birth in 2331 to be the one to make first contact with the mystical prophets who inhabitted and controlled the wormhole. Sisko had no idea of the fact that his mother was in fact one of the prophets.
Now the Bajorans were a very religious people. There had been tales for centuries of prophets dating back to the days of the First Republic when the Bajorans used solar sails to fly from Bajor to Cardassia. Most of those records had been lost during the years of war and occupation resulting from Cardassian aggression. There had been about a dozen orbs found in various areas of Bajor. Most Bajorans attributed this to the prophets who had fortoled that an Emissary would one day come to save the Bajorans and find the Celestial Temple.
After centuries of horrible misfortune, Bajorans had begun to discount these myths. All of that would soon change.
The ISS Saratoga was the 3rd ship commissioned into the IDF Starfleet. It was a Miranda class vessel that was very much capable of reaching the Bajoran Wormhole through the Denorios Belt. Sisko took the starship there under impulse power. He then boarded the large runabout Ganges, which was one of 3 vessels inside of the Saratoga. The Danube class runabout took up most of the shuttlebay though.
Sisko took it to the entry of the wormhole with the 3 warships standing guard in case the mysterious ships appeared again. Sisko got too close and was sucked into the wormhole. There was a bright light. Then the light was gone. Sisko was not in his runabout. He was now in a beautiful garden with his wife Jennifer, but it wasn't his wife. His wife had been killed nearly a decade earlier by the borg. He was confused when the being that had taken his wife's form told him to not be afraid.
This being was one of the mythical prohpets of Bajor. These prophets controlled the newly discovered wormhole. This wormhole was stable because it wasn't a natural one, it was artificial and built by these prophets. The mysterious planet like are Sisko was in was in fact the Celestial Temple. The prophet explained that Sisko was the Emissary of the Prophets. He had been destined to find this Celestial Temple. He had also been destined to save the Bajoran people. Sisko now knew that he had a purpose at DS9. He had previously considered leaving the IDF's space fleet and returning to earth. He now would stick with his assignment and give all his might to protecting Bajor.
The light appeared once more and Sisko was in the runabout. He wasn't in Bajor though, he was in a far away place. The ship's computer registered his location as in the Gamma Quadarant, 70,000 light years from DS9. He now also had uncovered the mystery of where the attackers were coming from, but given the fact he was in a runabout, he decided to not stick around. He took the Ganges and went back to the Bajoran system in the Alpha Quadrant. He was soon back in the Saratoga and explained to the other 2 captains what had happened.
They discussed what should be done. The heavily armed DS9 was to be moved closer to the Delorian belt. This would allow IDF to hopefully use the wormhole to establish contact with Gamma quadrant races and hopefully establish trade.
Sisko decided it was time to talk to Odo. Odo was a the chief of security at Deep Space 9. He wasn't a starfleet officer, but he wore a Bajoran uniform. Odo wasn't Bajoran either. He was a changeling. He really was nothing. His natural form was liquid, but he could solidify into whatever being or object he wanted to be.
Odo had no clue where he had come from. Sisko wondered if he was from the Gamma Quadrant since the wormhole had been discovered. The Bajorans had discovered him in the Denorios Belt in 2337. He was discovered in his liquid form and brought to Bajor. Doctor Mora Pol studied and taught him for years before he made his home on DS9.
Now Sisko went to Odo for answers. They met in Sisko's office.
"Now tell me Odo, do you have any idea where you came from?"
"I honestly don't know Captain," responded the Changeling. "I do wonder often myself."
"Do you believe you came here through the wormhole?" asked Sisko.
"Given the recent discoveries, I believe it is definitely possible."
"How would you like to find out?" asked Sisko.
"I'd like the opportunity."
"Good, we will be going to search the Gamma Quadrant next week."
"What are you waiting for?" asked Odo.
"Starfleet is sending us an experimental ship that has more powerful armor, armaments, and even a cloaking device. She is named the Defiant and she arrives next week."
Transwarp Gate Hub Beta - Command Center - Control Room
"Commodore, we have recieved a priority one message from the Pillar."
"A prority one? Are they in need of assistance?"
"No. Apparently they came across a group of ships engaged in combat inside our space. One of the ships appears to be of Romulan design, but her crew claims they developed it independantly and appear to be human."
"So, why the priority one coding?"
"Apparently Captain Trix and Commander Stran are aboard the Romulan-esque craft after being invited by her captain. The Chief Engineer, one Lieutenant Commander Kambusu, was left in charge, sir. He was the one who authorized the priority one coding."
"Then he'll know its his head if its a waste of time."
"Correct. Though judging from the obvious hostility of the group of ships that were destroyed, I think he was justified in that decision. An agressive group has sent ships into our territory in this reality with the intent of doing combat. Kambusu has recommended we aide the others, who are native to this reality, in teaching this scum a lesson."
"Any idea where these ships came from?"
"One of the natives has identified that they are arriving through a near-by wormhole in the Bajoran star system from the Gamma Quadrant."
"Hmm. We control the Delta Quandrant in our own reality."
"Agreed. For the time, the Emperor has decided its not worth the effort to try to find a way around Alliance space or fight our way through it to reach the Gamma Quandrant of our reality."
"Yes. Now that we know of the wormhole from the Bajoran system to the Gamma Quandrant in this reality, we can assume that it also exists in our own reality."
"Only problem is that the Alliance controls the Bajoran star system in our reality."
"True. But we are their only access to this reality, thus I assume we could work out some kind of arrangement with them in exchange for the system.
"Send some ships to this end of the wormhole in this reality."
"Aye, sir."
Exterior - Five hours later
A group of twenty-five ships, the forces under the command of one Flag Captain, undocked from their berths and formed up before a section of the mighty Transwarp Gate Hub. They got their clearance and entered the Gates they had been assigned. They were now en route towards the Bajoran star system with an estimated time of arrival of thirty minutes.
The ISS Defiant entered Bajoran space at warp 1 and slowed to impulse as she made her way through the Denorios Belt to DS9. Sisko, Kira, Odo, Quark, Bashir, and Dax boarded the tiny warship and departed DS9.
"Major Neryes, activate cloaking device," ordered Sisko. "Dax, take us at full impulse into the wormhole."
The Defiant was now cloaked and it soon appeared in the unexplored Gamma Quadrant.
Quark had had business dealings with the Karemma in the past. The Ferengi had arranged the deals a few years before. The Karemma was the only link they had with the Dominion besides Odo, the changeling
Quark had arranged a meeting with Orinthar, a Karemman trader who could help them. Orinthar's ship met with the Defiant in the middle of a nebula where they would be hidden from sensors. Orinthar told them that the only contact he had with the founders was through the Vorta, a hummanoid race that carried out important duties for the Dominion. He told them that the Vorta commanded the Jem'Hadar and were the true CO's of the Dominion warships.
The Defiant departed the nebula and was still cloaked. Orinthar had departed in his ship. His ship was discovered as soon as it left the nebula and came under fire.
"Red alert! raise shields!" ordered Sisko as the Defiant dropped its cloak.
The 3 Jem'Hadar attack ships didn't expect a cloaked ship so the first one was focusing all it's attention on the Karemman ship when the Defiant fired her 4 pulse phasers at the Jem'Hadar attack ship. Her 3 beam phasers and 2 quantum tubes then opened up on the ship destroying her. The other 2 ships turned from the Karreman's ship allowing her to warp out.
The 2 remaining ships opened fire on the Defiant. Starfleet's shields weren't at correct frequencys to stop phased polaron weapons. Sparks flew across the small bridge as the starboard nacelle was struck. The ablative armor kept the hull from being cut open with the shot. The Defiant fired her aft tubes and used her maneuverability to fire her pulse phasers in rapid succession heavily damaging the Jem'Hadar ship. A quantum torpedo ended that ship, but the final one fired a shot that broke through the ablative armor and punctured the hull near the port nacelle, which vented plasma into space.
The Defiant was unable to cloak and her warp engines couldn't attain maximum warp. Odo and Kira decided to take a runabout and go for where the Founders were allegedly from. The Defiant departed in a race towards the wormhole leaving Odo and Major Neyres in the runabout Rio Grande.
OOC: @IDF: You have MSN?
IC: Five A.U.s from the IDF station, known as Deep Space Nine in this reality, but was still known as Terrok Nor by her Alliance masters in the home reality, a massive, green wormhole like structure appeared as the terminus of the Transwarp Conduit opened. The Imperial ships were a few minutes from the terminus of their journy. Due to the situation, it had been decided to open the Conduit's exit earlier than usual to give the local IDF forces advanced warning. The Imperial ships were here to teach the Dominion a lesson for breaching Imperial territory with hostile intent and had no quarrel with the IDF forces on this end of the wormhole.
OOC: I use AIM, but I'm rarely on. Please don't go and destroy the whole Dominion. It's impossible. The combined force of Starfleet, the Klingons, and the Romulans couldn't even do it. They only beat the Dominion because the Jem'Hadar couldn't use their ships since the mines at the exit of the wormhole blocked their entry into the Alpha quadrant
IC:
DS9's long range sensors detected the ships and registered them as Jarvon ships. Jarvon was no threat to IDF so no actions were taken. It was no event to have many ships come to DS9 now that the wormhole had created new trade lanes.
---------------------------------
Odo had a desire to travel to the Omarion Nebula. He didn't know why he wanted to go there, but he knew something was drawing him there.
The runabout Rio Grande warped into the nebula and began scanning. There was a single class-M planet on its own without a star in sight. Major Neyres landed the runabout and they walked on the surface. There was a group of changelings. One of them took form and said "welcome home" to Odo. Odo had found his home.
Odo and the changeling talked. Odo was one of many changelings sent out to explore the galaxy over 100 years before. Odo learned of the Dominion and how the Changelings, or founders as they were called by the people of the dominion. The Vorta and Jem'Hadar had been genetically engineered to serve the founders in their quest to eliminate the "solids." The founders saw all solids as threats to their existance. The Vorta and Jem'Hadar were sworn to serve the founders to the death in this endeavour.
With this knowledge, Odo and Major Kira Neryes left the area and flew to the wormhole. They were allowed to pass without incident as no Jem'Hadar would dare think of harming a founder.
OOC: @IDF: As you wish.
IC: Flag Captain William Decker's fleet emerged from the exit of the Transwarp Conduit in a lazy, but uniform, formation. Twenty-four of the ships hung back while the the Conduit spiraled closed. Flag Captain Decker's ship, the I.S.S. Prejudice, a Asteroth class (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b91/SeaQuest_Sim/Schematics/Jarvon/dreadnaught_asteroth.jpg) dreadnaught, approached to within fifty kilometers of the IDF Deep Space Nine station.
