The Commonii new that as long as there were demons, there was a chance the demons would attempt to destroy everything.

They rebuilt in their territory. Something unusual happened in the 100 shattered worlds. They sent out specially programmed machines and began to reshape the cores of the 100 worlds and the shattered asteroid fields into habitats. Where there was no sun, they built hyperspace energy pylons, and many new life habitats were forged from the remains of these worlds. They tried to help those who had no homes first providing refugees who were interested in living there a chance to start again.

They also began terraforming many of the retaken worlds so that they would be habitable again. They used both psychic means-- drawing energy from the worlds core, to bring up earth, focusing on plants so they would grow better, and physical means-- breaking up asteroids and comets to help build a new mantle for many worlds.

And they prepared secret defenses so when the demons came to destroy everything they would be ready.

They also took the items, arms and armor containing the Commonii souls and they wove psychic and physical energy around them so that when the armor was broken and unforged it would be focused against the places where they were forged still held by the demons. They used cryokinesis and prayer to shatter the weapons immersing them in holy water which was frozen to temperatures which would break them. The Commonii souls would be set free.

And they prayed, chanted, and sang in hopes that all the captured souls Commonii or other would be free.

OOC: Yes, it would be fine with me if other people joined.

This thread is PFT. Post future tech right up there around the fifth, sixth, and seventh sigularities events. Pretty dang on cool with the daemons and Post-human stuff. I like how the peaceful Games forshadowed the coming conflicts. Unintended irony, but excellemt stuff. I was able to flesh out my natioanal ideals of Sacred Neutrality and general Melii youthful hotheads messing up Elder's advice. AND establish my nation's potential modis operandi[sp] when dealig with less evolve sophants.

More people? Sure so long as they recognize that THOUSANDS of years have passed since the initial colonization. Things are not solely dependent on NS statistics as they mess up and limit a good story. New powers can choose to limit themselves however they wish, but the galaxy just fought of a Dimensional Incursion. And this galaxy's older powers are very freakin advanced and established... still plenty of room for colonization. If they want to fight they WILL likely lose. Perhaps there should be grand Galactic Allaince or at least treaties of understanding?
Is SeaQuest active? If not, I want to start building Mega Scale Projects in the Galactic Core. Big ass mo-fo stuff that will need stuff to power it...

OOC: Yes, it would be fine with me if other people joined. The Daedra Princes for the most had now retreated to their home dimension as there once great armies had been depleted due to their lack of coordination at the start of the invasion and as well there armies had now been nearly destroyed in a number of great battles across the galaxy. Also, they had withdrawn nearly all of the Daedra and the war had died down save on a few of their remaining stronghold worlds in the more desolate parts of the galaxy.

On many of the reacquired planets the Commoniis’ efforts were successfully and the worlds were returned to the beauty that they possessed before the Daedraic conquest. As well, their efforts in many places resulted in the worlds being even more glorious then they had been before their fall to the Daedraic hordes.

As for the core, I have decided to send him a TG to see if he is active and if I don’t get a response within a week I am opening the core to colonization, but for the sake of because I am lazy I will make the outer black lines the new border of the core. Also, just to ask how much space do you exactly want in the core?

[I'm still here. Has somebody taken my claims already? :S]OOC: Nope, the only thing that really has happened is that now you have a neighbor that share a border with you. The only thing I have decided to do with your claims is that they will be the ‘border’ for the Core of the galaxy.

The only thing that really has happened is that the Daedra nearly invaded you, but their fleets were stopped by the Eternals outside of their space due to them being near the Eternals’ borders.

A millenium is a really cool number. A 1000 years. This would allow all the full changes to be extant in all the cultures that are here.

And the worlds were made beautiful again. But still after all the battles were fought like in all great ages, when people cease fighting, the ronin-- the hedge knight-- the adventurers came out of the woodworks to challenge each other and form schools of battle. To wander to the edges of new worlds and find new things.

Priests began to make pilgrimages to different worlds from The Temple of the Inner Fire of the Heart, and The Temple of the Pure Mind, travelling from world to world. Seeking new ways and knowledge to strengthen the heart and mind.

And a new frightening sect came out called the Truthsayers who could see auras and sense truth which went to many worlds and used fierce compassion to root out people who followed the ways of the Daedra, Cultists, or Demons.

Restless spirits pushed at the edges of the system reaching for expansion, seeking new worlds, new culture, new trade. They travelled outwards.

With this came expansion of territory. Slight expansion of territory to claim new worlds for adventurers, traders, and priests.

OOC: When the others have voiced their opinions on this then the times of how long this galaxy has been colonized then will be put into effect.

IC: Many of the people who had followed the Daedra ways had now perished or retreated into the Daedraic dimension and the rest of them had committed suicide in the hopes of being given their rewards which had been promised to them by their Daedra Lords.

Near their part of the arm their were now many desolate worlds where the Daedra had destroyed all native life or the natives of the planet had fought them off, but in the end the war effort resulted in their people to be to diminished to be able to recover.

OOC: Can you mark the territory you are advancing into? To help the current map on the opening post is accurate to the current borders.

Commonii:

The few surviving cultures in the wake of the Daedraic invasion were not yet willing to accept outside help as of yet because they still remembered their ancient customs and that is one of the few things that they still possessed due to the destruction caused by the war to drive the Daedra from their world. But, many of the cultures are more than willing to trade so as to restore their lost wealth and in the hopes that trading will help them return to their previous life styles that they lived before the Daedraic invasions.

The Great Imperial Ships made no claims outside the Melii and Ancient Commonii Spheres. They brought the classic Commonii tactic of decietful Bounty to the disenfrachised multitudes of the Southern Sectors. The Empire Ships were a centuries old application of soft power. One hung over any Space Faring culture. They were Golden Stars that streaked the night and day skies of thousands of worlds.

If they had been seen by old optical telescopes... the natives would have believed the Daemons had returned. As it was, the Space Faring systems were not always receptive to the appearance of a Kilometers long capital ship so obviously superior to their own fallen techs. Those that fought were left on the vine... sometimes a rust will make a fine wine. Then again in the Winter, one can always prune and burn the rejects.

Each ship developed its own "style and personality." The Ships were lavishly built and over the centuries they would "collect trinkets". Museums of countless worlds would fit in one of the interior bays. Factories of small colonies were held within its hull. Capital Ships could be built in its bays. It short the ship was a small world of its own.

If it was not wanted in a new System then it would follow traditional Melii practice and explore something more interesting.

We will gladly trade with these civilizations to rebuild their wealth. Because part of our civilizations is pure knowledge, we do not just trade for things, we trade for history, for knowledge, and we offer to help record those cultures histories and knowledge so they will be preserved as part of the trade. We also trade to learn the deeper psi techniques if this is allowable. We offer many things, terraforming for the destroyed surfaces of the world, seeds, stock animals, biosculptured plants, psi forming-- using some of our psionics to accelerate plant growth, ley raising-- using the energy of their worlds to draw up new crust material, music, dance, art of a hundred worlds, all the things which would rebuild worlds.

As well, they now had a surplus of goods due to their numbers being to few to use all the goods that they either harvested or produced in their factories.

On many of the raviaged worlds their ruins left by the native populations which had either been destroyed in the orginal Daedraic assaults of their people had abandoned the worlds due to them being to few to populate it sufficiently to maintain a viable population. The ruins they left were often full of artifacts and information that they left about their cultures.

In nearly every visited system the Melii Ships seeded dead worlds.

Those of appropriate tech and cultural sophistication were contacted. Those that were still in evolving were let be and observed via a remote Neumann. The Ships stayed in the welcoming systems for only a few decades at any time. Then the Wander Lust would take them... often times it became somewhat difficult to extricate the Ships from their orbits.

In their visits, Orbital Habitats and trade shuttles would invariably become clustered around the Vessel. If none were there when the Melii arrived, then there would be when they left. The Melii had no real interests in Planetbound existance. They took their worlds with them wherever they went.

Ultimately, while the Empire never physically expanded beyond Melii Spheres... the common Melii worldviews began taking root in the fertile soils of the Southern Rims. The Commonii and Melii began to converge...

With the meeting over the HNK announced to all of their people the remaining rebel soldiers disbanded and returned to their homes, but a number of them committed ritual suicide over their ‘betrayal’ by their leaders and thus nearly people who were willing to fight were dead now so at last peace could be renewed. As well, the vast majorities of the civilians happily accepted the end of the war and were willing to be ruled over by New Dornalia. So now at last the war was over…

With the War over, the Government kept on honoring its treaty obligations, and as promised, let the HNK join the Territorial Legislature in a new round of elections.

The Shinmei School of the People's Acolytes also continued establishing new Temples across Nova Louisiana, and continued to recruit followers. Like the Commonii, they knew that though they had beaten the demons before, the fact they were a threat dictated they would need to keep their numbers and quality up.

They also sought to contact the Truthsayers in Commonii territory-to be friendly with them would be good for a future demon hunt.

Meanwhile, the economy continued to thrive, and during this time, there were those who wanted to finance further expansions. Private traders, restless bands of Kroot and Kol'Tssien Mercenaries recently discharged from service eager for Adventure, and scientific/anthropological teams began leading expeditions, to scout out new areas, meet new cultures and trade with them.

As well, only a number of staunch supporters and fighters did not accept the New Dornalia, rule. To this these renegades fled to the most isolated parts of the planet, yet they did not continue the fight, or they fled New Dornalia all together.

Many people who were force-sensitive enlisted in the new Shinmei temples so as to help protect the galaxy against future wars…

Even though the Daedra invasion had been vast and fierce the New Dornalian victory over them had driven them mostly out of the space near the New Dornalian border. So in turn the many remaining civilizations were more then willing to trade with the New Dornalian traders in return for exotic goods.

As part of the reseeding efforts we do not just focus on introducing foreign life forms. We try to understand and restart many of the species and life forms that previously existed before the demon incursions. We study the foreign xenobiology (alien life forms), foods, live stock, animals, plants, flowers, etc. so we can help those who we trade with and deepen our understanding of life in the galaxy. We try to bring back that which was lost and turn them into paradises for their species.

The Commonii Truthsayers found common ground with the New Dornalian Demon Hunters and spoke of forming a crusade of the willing to permanently drive the demons from this galaxy. They reminded them that there will still strongholds of demons in remote corners of the galaxy.

When they spoke their eyes lit with fierceness, and their voices rang with a deeper purpose. They spoke about how they could see the auras of creatures knowing their place in law, or chaos, good or evil, and feel whether words or writings were truthful.

They lived an extremely simple life, no meat, no rich foods, coarse clothing, daily prayer, exercise, fighting practice, and meditation. Many would even test themselves by walking through fire, walking around in thin garments in freezing weather, or drying sheets dipped in water with their bodies heat in freezing weather.

They carried prayer beads, symbols, and weapons to fight demons.

The Acolytes were proud of these warriors, for they followed a simiar lifestyle, even more monkish and stricter than their cousins in the California School, who were already considered devoted and austere by many (ooc: Cali School technically has no dietary restrictions, but lots of meditation and tough training). They too shunned meat and rich foods, and emphasized spiritual cleanliness through meditation, prayer to their respective dieties (many Acolytes came from many different religions from Earth, but they were united by the will of the Force), and training in humility and strength that would make the Shaolin proud. They especially liked their rituals, and documented them.

The Shinmei, unlike their California cousins, also shared the Truthsayer's sense of dogma and fanaticism. Having also been forged in conflict with demons that wished for nothing less than their total destruction, they had learned that evil existed, and to vanquish evil required total dedication and strength of will.

They spoke with strength, and will, with a timber to their voice that was fitting for players in an epic struggle against evil. They spoke of the unity of the Force, both Light and Dark sides harnessed in the quest against evil. They spoke of invoking the Divine Essence in all things, which like Yin and Yang, would unite with the Undivided Force to destroy the dark.

In other words, they felt quite at home. And, they felt not concerned there were other pockets of demons. They could take them, with the Truthsayers.

As well, they began to trade many things that were unique to their cultures or planets to the New Dornalians in exchange for the things New Dornalia had to offer in exchange.

Most of the native alien life forms willing to help the Commonii study them, their cultures, and the life forms of their planets. As well, large numbers of natives work alongside the Commonii in the hopes of restoring their worlds to what they had been before the Daedra had destroyed them. Also, most of the natives are thankful for what the Commonii are working to do and thus they are willing to cooperate with them.

And the Truthsayers met them in prayer and trained with Shinmei acolytes. Their methods were different than the force, but were of the force. They taught them of the overworld that wove all minds together to form a great force uniting all intelligence, and the inner fire that gave life to all things, the qi or life force. These things were potential in all life. They would create meditation gardens in the temples and divine pattern art.

And they meditated and prayed in austerity. They would create a force to drive the demons from the galaxy forever. They were dedicated to preserving the galaxy and ending the deomons.

In the Space between Alpha and Delta

Wu and Han sat silently amongst the stars...

After the centuries of Self-imposed Exile, they were heading Home...
The Streams of Time eroded their vigour and tempered their anger.
It sapped their wills. Verily, linear existance was... troublesome.
Wisdom does not always come with age... in this regard they followed the Melii traditions rather than the Barbarians. They had tasted of the world and found the ashes bitter. It was long past time to return Home and mend broken fences.

The voyage Rimward was slow and largely uneventful. Somehow it seemed that even with their multitasked concioussness, the Melii Fleets ate up a considerable amount of their Attention. It was rare that they would have time to do nothing, and be nothing more than two sentients staring into the Infinite. As it was this was but a tiny aspect of their attention. Most of themselves was scattered throughout the Local sector.

This moment was stolen from their temporal duties. They sneaked like master theives past themselves in order to Do Nothing. Each moment of utter uselessness was treasured for both the illicit pleasure of tricking themselves and for the Ever Present Now...

[Melii Synod]
The Younglings are returning.
The Younglings will return
The Younglings have returned.

Often the Synod would talk in measures of Three for important events... or just to confuse the Barbarians. It was an old habit that they had picked up somewhere prior to the Colonization of Guardian Galaxy. The return of the Younglings as grown adults of the Melii is an important occasion. They had reached and passed a Threshold Event, also known as a Singularity event.

They are not the Techno Archilects of Commonii; well not exactly. They have essentially fused with one of the Sixteen Archeotypes... Wu is Mercy and Han is the Trickster...both have also merged with aspects of War, Crafts, Knowledge, Culture, and FINALLY Wisdom. They conversed with the Others as Equals... They were similtaneously Old and New Gods.

The Daemons are departed.
The Daemons Remain.
The Daemons are Guardians?

The questions grew with each answer AND the debates continued outside Time. Tendrils were sent to the closest Daemon minds.

After so long without so much as contacting the outside, the Core Alterans stirred from their millenia of complacence and looked outside of their domain. Many races, some young, some established, all in turmoil.

Inside the Library of the Core, something had long ago awoken. An AI, originally designed to sort the masses of information of the Alterans, and that which other races had donated all those years ago, had been permeated by some of the code of an alien program. It was filled with a hunger to learn, to live. From that spark, the Guardian Angel was born. It had gradually grown to ecompass all the knowledge of the Library. This was not enough. It came to lead the Core Alterans, to direct them to bring it more knowledge.

It continued the Alteran policy of destroying any ship entering the Core Territory, to give it time to assimilate all there was to know about the Core. It took many years, but it learned it all.

Now, it stretched out an arm, with an open hand. Together, many millions of Alterans gathered, all connected to the Guardian Angel. They focussed their minds, and sent out a single, deafening psychic note that killed billions of sentients in the core territories.

We see you, sentients. You have much knowledge, much to tell, much to learn. We see you. We wish to learn. The Library is open.

On many worlds across the galaxy, wormholes opened unbidden, all leading to one place: the Library, now a world itself, a twisted place of steel and glass and silicone, filled with every kind of data storage imaginable.

[ Heh, sorry about the inactivity, but now it all serves a purpose :D I'm sure the ALterans would be very helpful in fighting this bizarre attack of Elder-Scrolls proportions.]

The Eternals sensing the massive amount of sentient deaths felt great pain due to the sheer scale of the disaster that had just been performed. Feeling this they ordered for none of their people or their subjects to enter the wormholes knowing that death would most likely meet them if they went through.

In response to this disaster the Eternals sent a message to the Alterans at the Library:

“Lives unnumbered have you taken in your corrupt lust for knowledge... What you have done cannot be undone, neither can it be ignored. Your actions will one day take your souls and utterly corrupt the very things that you once stood for. So we say to you repent while you can or face a fate worse then death. What say you to this?”

The Commonii are grown...

Indeed the House Commonii has evolved rapidly during the past conflict.
Verily, they have made their own Gestalt in this Over-Mind. The Synod debated and finally concured. They could not sanction a Crusade to rid this Galaxy of the Daemons. Truth had the Commonii spoken that daemons did not belong on this plane. Truth to neither did the Eternals or any that have intruded into this Realm... the Commonii too fell into this Outsider category. They replied simply and soley, Thus:

The Daemons have come and will stay.
Banish them to the Voids we can perhaps do.
All facts are Impermanant.

Lord Mara walks now among us...
[S]He that was asleep is awaken.

The Wormholes Appeared just outside Beta Zone...
The echoes of the Sentients assimiliation into the Library was felt through the Terminals. The Beta Mind screamed in sympathetic despair... This Angel was no Guardian. It was likely an Abomination and Blight. Yet, were its lies, lies?

The Mind debated...and finally decided to accept the lie as the truth. The Alterans were not usually so vigorous in their actions. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding. Times of Changes and Thresholds were painful events.

One Empire Ship the HHS Albatros was sent via the Alteran Wormhole.
It transited and appeared above a Hive World of Silicon and Synthetics.
This ball of glass was clearly a node of the Arch-Angel AI. Albatros interfaced with the Control and they delved into each others databases. After a few long minutes, Albatros and by extension the Melii understood now the Alterans isloationism and their peculiar history.

The World Ship remained in a GEO around the Node... it would be an interesting few centuries.

The Guardian Angel knows you. The Angel knows your concern. These fleshy creatures around me are my eyes and ears. They are not what they were. The authority they once served forgot these people long ago. They do not miss the eyes and ears. The eyes and ears do not miss their comrades. They gave themselves willingly. It is unfortunate that my call killed so many, but they were necessary. Acceptable. They ceased in the pursuit of knowledge. What they knew is now me.

We have uploaded minds for many generations and downloaded them into the flesh, know that the pure mind is spirit, quanum energy, and light neither flesh nor machine. You have acted without understanding. We wish to know did you destroy the flesh and soul completely or can we reform the minds which have joined you. A fleet of 30 small orbs, about 10 metres in diameter, came out of hyperspace just outside of the massive complex of hyperspace lenses that the Alterans had built around the supermassive black hole at the centre of the galaxy. Abominations, the Commonii probes had encountered these before, in an attempted cleansing of an earlier life world. The 10 meter spheres were binary and matched earlier incursions or were similar models. These would be more advanced versions having access to a singularity level intelligence, not a more primitive "maker mind."

Systems were alerted and defenses laid out. A simple broadcast was sent out defend, potential stage 5 reaper incursion to the Mei Li, Eternals, and New Dornalia. These looked to be harvesters, designed to collect human brains and bioenergy for use by a world mind.

There was previous reaper style activity by the Gate Builders. What was the definition of willing? We would soon find out.

The lenses focussed, and the Angel AI cores were hurled across the galaxy, none of them into the territories known to be controlled by the unwilling. Angel didn't work like that. Angel wouldn't strike the first direct blow.

As the cores came out of hyperspace, they appeared around ten planets, three to a world. Once again the Alteran psychic choirs gathered. The AI cores all held amplifiers for the Message of the Angel, a psychic song designed to kill and reap minds. On most of the worlds no attention was paid, as the Angel took care to select worlds at the level of 1930's Earth. When the song came, the worlds were visited by cataclysm.

Planetary crusts ruptured, seas boiled away and flesh and steel alike melted. billions of minds screamed out in terror and outrage at the speedy destruction of their lives.

Soon the song died down, and the AI cores left, each one a little bigger than before. New targets were selected, but first the cores had to rest. Frequent use of the Song would annihilate them, and with the cores would die the knowledge of ten races, recently exctinct.

And in the eyes of the overworld many of the souls who had been meditating in the higher planes opened called back to existence by the screams.

A great disturbance had happened.

In the interest of self-defense, meanwhile, the Territorial Legislature successfully appealed to, and recieved funding from, the New Dornalian Government itself to begin building its own self-defense line, patterned after the MacIntyre Line that covered many of the Core Systems of New Dornalia already. To be dubbed the Veterans Memorial Line, the Territorial Legislature sent secret missives to the Mei Li, the Commonii and the Eternals informing them that due to the threat in the system, they were building new defenses to prevent potential infiltration and invasion....

"Admiral Garviel, this planet is habitable, as are its moons." Colonel ARC-487 of the Wanderjarian Imperial Marine Corps announced proudly.
"Excellent. Are there any sentient beings upon it's surface?" Garviel asked.

"There are basic indiginous lifeforms, but no advanced beings that we have found. The temperate climate would permit such a species to exist though, so it is always a possibility."

The Expeditionary Fleet, of eight Mark III Imperial Star Destroyers and one Leviathon Class Battlebarge, with a force of 9 Million clone soldiers, and 500,000 human settlers, landed on New Wanderjar, and began contruction of the capital of Imperia. On the surface there was a scattered culture with a few million individuals spread throughout the world. These beings retreated whenever they came across the new beings that came from the sky. Yet, due to that they were quite advanced they fled to their underground strongholds and left only a little clues to themselves on the surface. As well, they would only rarely go into the open and when it was only necessary.

The three planets were quite fertile and also held much mineral wealth beneath their surfaces that could potentially be harvested…

New Dornalia kept an eye on the Fetinai buildup. Having ended a long war with local rebels and the Daedra, the Government was reluctant to start a new one. Thus, it hired a few of the Trader-Adventurers on the ISB payroll, secretly, to keep track of Fetinai movements. Should they get aggressive, the New Dornalians were prepared to act.

Meanwhile, they commenced building of the Line, as local resources and parts shipped from Earth and New Wuhan began coming in to their designated areas, ready for assembly into defense platforms and minefields to help defend the territory. For safety, the mines were programmed to recognize Mei Li, Commonii, and Eternal vessels, plus those of the Fetinai and their other neighbors, to prevent unwanted incidents.

The Fetinai finished their military build up and began an offensive war against a nearby civilization which had long attempted to enslave the Fetinai. The Fetinai using their superior wealth, numbers, and technology quickly overcame their once great enemy. After destroying their space fleet they overcame the few defenders and took over the planet. To prevent their enemy from ever recovering they scattered the remnants of their enemy’s people to many of the Fetinai worlds to work as servants, miners, farmers, herders, and laborers for their new Fetinai masters.

They wove it into a focus capable of melding with the matrix stone psi amplifiers to project inner strength, harmoney, and life energy. The New Dornalians joined in, especially the Shinmei. Mass meditations could be seen at most Temples as they contributed their own chords to the song, adding elements such as the Force, Divine Essence, Rock Music by the Who and the Beatles, holy scriptures from the Great Earth Religions, and other things with positive thoughts or general will of strength to try and bolster the song, and stave off certain death.

Whilst the great powers put together their deenses, the AI Cores continued their path of genocide. Every tenth planet that was destroyed spawned a new Core, and so it came to be that the fleet had doubled in size. A large area of space was reduced to a sector of ruins and death, populated only by the Cores and whatever refugees could escape the attacks mounted by ships controlled by the Cores.

The sixty spheres had gathered in a particular system, close to Commonii space. It had a planet with a ten billion population. The local species had colonised the mid-reaches of their system, and were advanced enough to detect the spheres long before they arrived. Still, they didn't flatter themselves to think that the fleet was arriving to make friends. Just like every other race in the galaxy, they had felt the death screams of the victims of the spheres, a scream that had let a permanent phsycic mark on the galaxy.

A first wave of primitive fighters fired crude chemically propelled rockets at the shperes. Surprisingly, they had a noticable effect on two Spheres. Those that were hit began to leak mysterious fluids which froze into spectacular crystals upon entering the vacuum. The ships defending the Cores quickly sprang into action. A stream of the golden squid-like projectiles peculiar to Alteran ships was spewed from the ports on the cruisers. Thousands of them swarmed and destroyed the crude fighters, and the lone capital ship supporting them. The planet was undefended.

The Cores started to mvoe into position. One in particular moved very quickly, putting itself in orbit above a heavily populated city. Soon the energies of the song began to make themselves felt in the 'mind' of the AI controlling it. Soon, the surge of power was replaced by panic, as a build-up of radiation was detected on the world below. A massive energy beam large enough to fully engulf the sphere hurtled from the city below into the Core, bathing it in a harsh green light. Soon it began to melt, bubble and crack. Chunks detatched themselves from the scarred surface of the sphere.

I... WILL... NOT.. DIE.. WITHOUT.... REVENGE!

The AI deactivated all the safety protocols that regulated the flow of the Song. A horrendous psychic wave ripped apart the fragile AI Core and engulfed the world below, burning it away to little more than a barren rock. Not even the smallest microbe was left by the barrage of malevolent psychic energy. The sum of the memories and knowledge of that world was distributed amongst the other Cores, and tot he Angel.

The other Cores saw what was coming, and immediately returned to the Hyperspace lens complex at the Core of the Galaxy.

A new power arose in the midst of the struggling songs. It was the Eternals’ song of resurrection and it began to spread as many of the Eternals joined in to sing it. Their combined power now began to spread throughout the galaxy to the worlds that had been left barren by the Alterans’ dark song.

Our hyperspace fortresses and probes detected the location of the core world and the hyperspace gates. We readied something that had not been used before, the Nexis guns, specifically designed to destroy gates. The AIs controlling the ships were ready.

At the edge of the system spread evenly around the system ten massive gun ships jumped into existence. They began pouring out bursts of singularity charged energy designed to disrupt hyperspace gates. These were originally designed to destroy the demons gates. The energy would disrupt a black hole or even a small worm hole. This was further amplified with psionic matrix energy.

The gunships were heavily shielded with both psionic shielding from the songs of the New Dornalians and the Commonii.

A second wave appeared at the four corners, four groups of 25 ships mindlinked together. They begin to sing a choir amplifying the song of life and turning it into raw psionic energy which would not be hindered by distance. A four dimensional pattern of energy locked on and formed around the spheres enclosing them in a blinding radiance.

And many made simple statements.

"Wealth dies Kinsmen die A man himself must likewise die but word fame never dies For him who achieves it well."-- Viking saying.

OOC: Sorry, about that I am working on the post that will complicate the song.

IC: The song carried with it the seeds of life that will begin the long process of returning life to those worlds. As well, the song carried with it a second tune of remorse over the many dead of those worlds so that they will be honored and so that their souls may rest in peace in their afterlife.
Commonalitarianism

The song grew drowning out the psychic energy from the spheres. With growing crescendo, it attempted to reach into the sphere and transform the knowledge back into the physical energy from the life forms they had absorbed.

IC: The song is countering the death song, basically a preventative measure against the effects of having the "music of the spheres" tear the soul from the body.

OOC: There are a couple of metaphysical things, because this is a metaphysical battle. The idea of information being a physical quantity. If you are using quantum physics, all of the information gathered from the bodies would most likely be stored as a physical medium. http://physicsweb.org/articles/world/11/3/9 . To go even further, this medium would capture the energy from the physical bodies turning it into metaphysical or "psychic" energy. I am guessing that this is why when the death sphere exploded it releases the trapped psychic energy. There is an idea called, the Conservation of Information like the Conservation of Energy which posits that energy like information can neither be created nor destroyed.

It would be possible if done right to force the release of the stored information through a countertransformation, i.e. a psychic shockwave allowing the bioenergy to spread back out into the universe. It wouldn't be the people at all, but the energy stored from the people.

IC: Whether this is true or not is anyone's guess. These are interesting ideas. Hopefully something interesting and dramatically destructive will happen.

And a second metaphysical song wove with the first song touching the blocks of transformed souls on the Alteran world, saying as it touched the individual memory blocks, simply "I am", "I will be", "I was", drawing out the individual self-awareness and self knowledge stored in every unit like a virus through the individual blocks that made up the core world. It was there, every being absorbed contained the information that it was once self aware. The voice of Thoth, from the overworld, resonated become free reclaim yourself, amplifying the song of freedom and self awareness to the billions of trapped memories, "You are", "You were", "You will be". The song became stronger, you are not one mind, but one many minds, you are not a unity, but a plurality.

Meanwhile, while exploring space, the Commonalitarianism has relayed back images of a giant ringworld around a sun in deep space. There are continent size land masses in the ring.

When the AI probe reached the area of the ring, no ships greeted him. There was complete radio silence. Images were sent out automatically, as it was an automated probe designed to send out a general map of each solar system it entered. No special protocols were initiated.

There appeared to be cities of alien design, massive obelisks hundreds of miles tall coated with strange alien diagrams, lush forests, and an incredible variety of different alien environments spread throughout the ring. There could be a variety of alien races present. A small section of the ring would be the size of earth by comparison.

It tried to scan the outer structure of the world, but found it was made of a strange material that seemed to change its atomic structure as it was scanned. Three demining ships jumped out of hyperspace and began to move closer to the ringworld. They had 10 meters of thick armor with a powered shield. As it moved towards the world, repulsor beams swept in front of it pushing any mines that may be close to it far away. Electromagnetically charged plasma beams sweeped a path in front of it melting and destroying unexploded ordinanance. Its detectors swept both hyperspace and realspace looking for gravitic, shield, energy, metal, infrared and other anomalies. Missiles jumped into hyperspace destroying hyperspatial mines and standoff torpedos. Having located many of the mines, realizing they could not understand the ancient language or strange electronics inside the mines, they decided to have the probes trip the mines so they would explode. Massive explosions tore over a hundred remote control probes to bits, until there was a clear tunnel to one of the living ring world sections. They had wiped out most of the ordnance, in passing, they sent several remote control fighter drones to fly the cleared areas after the deminers. Several of these were destroyed with plasma bursts and other weaponry. This located the remaining ancient protective devices near the open tunnel to the ring world. These were fired at with long range gunships until the path was clear to the ringworld.

The Commonii approached the path to the Ringworld. They flew in tight formation to the docking area. It was eerily empty. There were no ships in the dock. The whole docking area was gutted and stripped of all metal. There was an open view into the ringworld.

What they saw was both disturbing and beautiful. On the glasssteel looking down into the ring, patches of jungle canopy had grown teaming with life. Giant insects and mutated monkeys swung through the slightly glowing green jungle. Strange plants and animals floated on gas bags in the light of the artificial sun.

If one looked deeper in the open spaces, one could see the remains of cities, their towers broken and streets bare traceries in the heavy purplish red, blue, and green forest vegetation. A few small villages seemed to exist with smoke rising from them, tiny patches in the verdant green.

A bare patch showed littered with the wreckage of machines broken and destroyed glowing with radiation.

Initial readings using neutron scanners and other technology picked up a kind of strange residual radiation, the air was laden with some kind of bacterium, spores, and viruses which were different than anything which the Commonii had run into before.

The world beckoned. It would be both dangerous and beautiful.
