A new ship had been built. A steam ship, faster than sails. A now it was ready for it's maiden voyage across the sea.

Emily Bindiger rode up on a horse into the Port city. She was 1st Mate to the ship. She was carrying a hand bag full of clothes, and her fowel weather gear. She gave her horse to the stable man, and showed her pass to the ticket taker, and went aboard to the bridge.
"Emily Bindiger, 1st Mate Reporting for Duty Captian."

Two kids, twins recived their tickets, for the trip home. They had been away for a while.

"Come on Lilly." Matt called back to his sister.

"I'm comming she called back."

they handed their ticket to the taker and went aboard.

They came into a small cabin, with a port hole window. A big sign next to it saying: Keep Closed

"This is nice, I suppose."

"Could be worse Matt. It's great." She fell onto the bed, and stretched.

Bellow deck the engineers we're preapring to move this ship. They we're lighting the boilers to warm them up. All they had to do was wait for the command.

Arthur stepped aboard, fully uniformed. He saw his first mate, a lovely woman, who was speaking with the captain.

Hanna his daughter asked where to find her room. He showed her the way, and she went off. She knew he would have to attend to the bridge.

"2nd Mate Arthur McKnight, Reporting, Captain Sir."

Captain Niccolo sucked in the fresh air, his belly pressing against his uniform. He pulled out a spyglass and surveyed the area, knwoing full well it was only a habit of his and that it served no purpose.

His steam ship (http://info.detnews.com/dn/pix/2005/08/14/greatlakes/gl14-steamship-0805n__JC7MU46.jpg) was the pirde and joy of the sea, a marvel of cutting edge technology. He turned and eyed the ship up an down, never getting over the fact of how far man had come.

Snapping back to reality, he called for his first mate.
"Emily Bindiger, get yer arse over here!"

"Yes sir?"

"Go to my personal cabin and fetch my phonograph! Before we set off we must have the proper music playing!" He let out a loud laugh and slapped her back.
"Now go!"

He would wait for the other passengers, rasie the colors, and be off!

She did just that. "Here you are sir."

"Skies are clear, waters are calm, should be good departure weather."

"Excellent! Now, fetch God Save The Queen so we can be ready!"

Rafael board the the Raven, a cruise steam ship. His bag was on his shoulder as he handed in his ticket and then headed down to his room to unpack.

She put down the record and wound it up, setting down the needle. The music came out clear as a bell.

It's free-reign. There isn't a specific story to it. What happens happens. The one scenario I'll put the ship thorugh is a storm, anything else, is up to you guys to create.

After he finished unpacking, Rafael headed up to the main deck, only to be confronted with the vileness of God Save the Queen. Looking around, he noticed the first mate was a woman, and an attractive one at that. Walking over, he bowed before her and asked, "What brings a woman of your loveliness to the position of first mate?"

"Well family history I suppose. I'm really striving for Captain someday."

Paying no attention to the passenger hitting on his first mate, Captain Niccolo went off to the pilots wheel. "Full steam ahead!"

The ship lurched off, at(what was at that time) an amazing speed. The Captain made his way to the decks once more, taking in the salty air. Noone, minus the Captain of course, knew where the ship was going. He liked the idea, not having any ask any...bad questions.

The whole reason for the voyage was simple: Gold. The Raven did work for the Queen. In fact, it was the Queen who had sent him on this mission. They were t venture into darkest Africa, and search for the lost tribe of the Watoosi. The Watoosi, it was said, lived in an area that was rich in gold, so much in fact, one could pick it out of the ground with your bare hands.

"That is a most admirable goal." Rafael replied, "Might I ask why you wish to captain a vessel?"

As the ship blasted it's way out of port, people from the gound watched. It was so fast. They hadn't seen anything like it. Emily took the additonal wheel used for port side waters. She knew they had to travel through a deep continent and as a side quest the captain would be searching for gold.

She looked out through the spyglass. All clear.


"Well my whole family has done it for ages. I just can't see my self doing anything else. The thrill of it is all the worth while."

Arthur checked everything else. Everything was ship-shape.

He even went down into the bolier rooms, and checked it out. Personally testing the dampers, to make sure they would close. It was a two engine ship, but he was used to old sailing ships. Fire and Icewater never mixed

"That makes sense." Rafael replied with a smile, "So what's it like being first mate?"

"Well it's honerable. It makes you feel important you know. But I still can't wait to be captain."

"How will you become captain?" He asked

"Well a few more sea hours out to do it. Then I can formally apply for my Captains Papers. So this trip and back, should rank in all my sea time that I need."

"Then more power to you." He replied

"Yes I suppose so." She chuckled.

"So do you know how long it is till the next meal?" He asked with a charming smile.

"First meal is at 6:00 P.M. It is currently 4:25."

"What would you suggest as a possible method to pass the intervening time?" He asked

"Hmm, well, you could explore the boat decks, read, or continue shooting the breeze with me."

"That last one sounds like it's the best." He commented with a grin.

"That's what I thought too. So tell me about your self."

"I do much better if given questions, otherwise I tend to ramble off topic, occasionally delving into nonsense." He commented

While the ship was on her way, the Captain saw it fit to examine his passengers. Gentry, no doubt, and some of the finest in the empire. His beloved first mate was talking with an engaging young man, and all seemed to be well. He remianed on the bow, just breathing in the air...

"Oh I don't mind. Nobody is perfect. Are going in search of the fabled goald, or are you on your way somewhere else?"

"No destination actually, just taking a cruise for the fun of it." He replied with a smile, "Are you after the gold then?"

"Well, it would help me when I buy my own ship. So I might keep my eyes out for the gold." She looked at the sky, clear as a bell. "Great weather we had for departure. And it's still as good as ever." She was getting to like this man more "What did you say your name was again?"

"I don't believe I did, but it is Rafael Carastair." He replied, "And I hope that you find the gold for your ship. You seem like you'd make an excellent captain."

"Thank you. I'm sure I will." She blushed.

(OOC: Well got to log off now)

"Might I request to join you at dinner tonight?" Rafael asked, with a smile at her charming blush.

"Captain, we've got fog rolling up ahead."

"I would love to. I'll meet you in the dining room, at the start."

Now she had to go see about the fog situation. It looked pretty thick.

"Alright, and since it looks like you'll have full with the fog, I'll stop distracting you. Au revoir." He said with a smile at her acceptance of dinner, he headed down below.

"Well the fog looks pretty thick, but I'm sure we could steam through it saftley captain." She looked through the spy glass

"Captain, we've got fog rolling up ahead."
"Ha ha! This is a steam ship! No manner of storm can conquer us! Full steam ahead!"

"Just as I thought. Make sure to sound the fog horn. I'm going to get ready for dinner."

She retreated to her cabin. She undressed from her Uniform, and changed into her dinner gown. It was Navy Blue, with straps, and a bow in the back. She put on a pair of earings, and a necklace, that was a chain with a small ships wheel on it.

She looked at her watch, it struck 6 o'clock. She hit her head in the swaying lantern. "Ouch!" The price of being tall. She rubbed her head, she was all right, and proceeded above. The Fog was rolling in, and the horn sounded often. She moved into the dining room and waited for her date.

Rafael had likewise return to his cabin and had changed into a suit of deep royal blue with a burgandy shirt. With a gargle of mouthwash and a his hair combed back, he made his way down to the dining room.

Spotting Dana, he walked over, "You look absolutely gorgeous." He commented as he bowed deeply to take her hand and plant a kiss gently on the back.

"Thank you, you're stunning your self. Come, let's find a table."

"Thank you." He replied as he offered her an arm so they could go find a table.

She guided him to the Table reserved for Captain and the first two mates.

She unfolded a napkin, and placed it on her lap. "Thank you for inviting me to dinner. I was afraid I'd have to stay up in the bridge, and eat. I rarley eat when the passangers eat."

He likewise placed a napkin upon his lap, "It was my pleasure." He replied, "It is rare to find a woman of such beauty, especially one who knows where she is going and how she wishes to get there."

"Yeah, my father said I always get that from my mother."

"If you take after your mother, your father must be a very lucky man." Rafael replied

"Oh he is. He's a retired captain now, but he's taught me so much."

"Ah, following in your father's footsteps." He commented

"Yes indeed. He would take me out on his ship all the time."

"He sounds like a great man." Rafael said

"Oh he is."

"Good evening," the waiter said "Tonight we have a special, fried shrimp, green salad, with poached samon."

"Sounds lovely, i'll have that."

"As for you sir?"

"That sounds excellent, could I get the same please." Rafael replied

"Certianlly sir. I'll be back with your food in a few moments."

"Thank you. So Rafael, do you sail at all?"

"Just as a passenger." He confessed

"Perhaps a hybrid ship might be best, that way you could travel even in when there is no wind in the right direction." Rafael replied, "You could develop it and sell it to the nations of the world so you could get a ship of your choice."

"Well, I don't know about hybrids, it's sort of either or. I do know hybrids are being planned, and tested but I'm not quite sure how they work.

"Then I hope you get a ship that can take anything the weather can throw, as it would be a great loss for the world to lose you." He replied with a charming smile.

She chuckled lightly. "Yeah, most ships are built good and hardy. If I find enough gold, I can buy a ship to weather any storm. It's a shame you don't sail, because I would ask you to join my crew."

"I'm honoured." He replied, "Perhaps you can seduce me to the ways of sailing so that when you do get your ship, I can join your crew."

"Ah excellent."

He set the food down. "Here you are." He poured some champaign, for the both of them "Enjoy your meal"

"Thank you." Rafael replied to the waiter. "Shall we begin?" He asked his date as he breathed in the scent of the delicious meal and champaign.

"Let's dig in." She cordially ate her food, and sipped.

Rafael nodded as they began eating their dinner.

She scooted aside her plate, after clearing it, took a last drink of champaign.

"That was a lovely dinner. I best rest up for the night, care to escorte me back to my cabin?"

Hanna was sitting alone at the table. She was approached by a boy, he looked to be a working class type with very blond hair and suspenders.

"Hey, what's a pretty girl like you sitting alone?"

"My father is 2nd Mate. So he's up in the bridge, and well no boyfreind."

"Care to take a walk with me?"

"Sure."

Rafael finished his dinner and drink at about the same time as his date. "It would be my pleasure." He replied as he got up and offered her his arm.

They wen't up on deck. The fog had cleared leaving the stars. "Ah lovely. The stars are so lovely!"

"Nice stars" Hanna said.

"Yeah, shooting star, make a wish."

She closed her eyes.

"Your cute you know that uh..."

"Brad. Your even cuter."

She giggled.

"Come on. let's walk around the deck."

"Yes they are, quite lovely indeed." He replied

"Some times, my father would navigate purley by the stars. Oh shooting star, make a wish."

She shut her eyes and made a wish. They made it to her cabin.

"Thank you for the night. I had a wonderful time with you." She gave him a kiss on the cheek.

He likewise closed his eyes and made a wish. Arriving at her cabin, "And thank you for the pleasure of your company. I also had a most enjoyable time with you." He replied as she gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Good night." she went inside, removing her gown, and slipping into bead, for a good nights rest. She dreamed of Rafael, she hadn't meet a man so sweet charming, and kind.

Rafael smiled as he departed, thought he decided to head to the deck for a little while before he decided to head to sleep himself.

Sure enough Hanna and Brad couldn't really controll themselves. Their clothes we're scatterd on the floor, and both we're making out like no other.

A small bell rang.

Hanna opend the pipe, used for communcating.

"Cabin 56." She said

"Hanna where are you? Why aren't you in the room?"

"Because Daddy. Look don't bother me now, I'm having sex with a factory worker."

She shut the hatch

"Factory worker? I'm really live on a farm you know. It will be mine."

"Well I would have said that, but I don't think it would have pissed him off as much."

"Do you always do that to him? He has no problem?"

"He's learned the hard way trying to controll your hormones at sea. He says, as long as I don't do all the time, he doesn't care."

He fingerd through her red hair. "You have pretty hair."

"Thanks, but don't you dare call me carrot."

"Don't worry I won't."

The next morning, the ship was rocking more. Emily was shaken awake by being tossed out of bed. She looked out the porthole, the sea was rather choppy. She dressed in her 1st Mate outfit, and walked out. The sky was grey, no sun in sight.

"Good Morning Aruthur."

"Emily. Oh my daughter must have pulled an all night again."

"Ah flirty type?"

"Yes. She loves to flirt, and make out with the cutest guy. Why fight it? Getting rough, maybe I should climb to the crow's nest."

"I'll do it." She walked out side, and climbed up to the nest. She saw the dark ominus clouds on the horizion.

She came back down the the bridge, "Captain, Storm Approaching."

Rafael headed up to the deck, but failed to notice Emily in the crow's nest, so decided to head into the group wardroom to see if there were anyone there.

"Well it's going to get rough. Better batton down."

She put on her coat.

"Better inform the passangers to be cautious in this weather."

Thunder rumbled, with a flash of lightning. It hadn't started raining yet, but it was getting rougher, and stormier.

Brad dressed in his clothes, while Hanna just laid there in bed still. Thunder rumbled, but nither of them we're worried.

"Sounds like a storm is moving in."

"Yes it does." She said casually.

"I hate storms." She said. "They make you wait and wait. And when they get bad, they get scary."

"Don't worry, I'll protect you. Better put some clothes on."

"Yeah I should." She stretched
