Cravan would like to host an aerial war game for all member nations of the GASN. We feel it would be good practice for our pilots to go up against each other in simulated combat, for training in dogfighting, CAS support, and other such activities. Each member nation is encouraged to commit at least one fighter squadron to the exercise. When all member nations participating send their squadron(s), we will divide up into BLUFOR and OPFOR and begin the exercise.

The exercise shall take place in the airspace above our SWTO headquarters, the island of Cayanace (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Cayanace) (OOC: So I got bored one day and wrote a small wiki article on the place. So sue me.). If the exercise is a success, we shall hold other exercises such as MOUT, special forces training, jungle warfare, tank warfare, naval maneuvers, and other such actions.

We look forward to your response, and hope you are able to attend.

Nice idea.. although I'm actually lacking fighters.

Mind you, I do have a fair amount of Bombers... I wouldn't mind lending them to the training exercise.

Just tell me when it starts! But is it MT PMT or FT, or all techs?

OOC: This alliance is MT/PMT, so... yeah.

@Northford
Like it was said, there are CAS and bombing scenarios, so come on anyway!

Yey!!

Is it going to on our offsite forum, or here?

Also, where is everyone these days?

Pythogria seems to have... died.

Anyway, IC-wise I'll need to wait till I've finished an RP with Yallak, as I'm going put them on high alert.

Cool idea, though

OOC: I figure it can happen here, although I would like our offsite forum to get some more use out of it.

And Pyth has quit NS... Leaving me as the only founding member. So I'll have to make some changes to the charter pending approval of the members.

The pressures of illiteracy became too much, eh?

It's a shame to see him go though.... he was a nice guy, he just needed to become better aquainted with MS Spellchecker.

The Aequatian Republic will send the 1st Aggressors Squadron which consists of twenty of the Aequatian Republic Air Force's finest pilots in the new F-1C "Banshee" Multirole Tactical Fighter.

The Banshee is the most advanced aircraft in the Aequatian inventory and has been designed as per combat experiences in the current Red Tide Theatre of Operations.

No... It was because of his ignoring of a pretty damn big invasion... He was criticised terribly...

All aircraft and pilots participating will be kept at the airfield on the island until the exercises start. (I'll just wait a day or two for more people to participate.) We welcome all pilots with open arms!

In any case, three squadrons (36 aircraft) of our F-80 Pheonix air superiority fighters will be participating in the exercises.

Ustia will send the elite 6th Air Divison. They consist the aces of the Ustian air force including the legender 66th air force unit. They were the masters of the sky during the battle of Lordis. Since that war there hasn't really been any combat for Ustia's air force so this will be a good workout for them.

Brigadier Derek Fletcher was performing the walk around of his brand new F-1C Banshee fighter, there were only a few changes made to the aircraft compared to his former F-1A Thanatos. After an hour on the ground, the twenty fighters were in the air flying a course to Cravan for the joint exercises, they flew in tight formations in their flights of four each, the twin-engined fighters as they started their cruise over the water, they would meet up with a Navy KC-2 tanker before making the last leg to Cravan.

Everyone in the 6th Air Divison was itching for some dogfighting. It had been awhile since anyone had been in a combat sortie. The 6th did there final checks on there airplanes before taking off. Eric callsign Cypher was the leader of the 66th airforce unit also known as Galm team. His wingman John callsign Bat was his best bud and flew with him throughout the Lordisan conflict. Now they were all heading for a small island called Cayanace. The 6th took off into the sky and headed for Cayanace. It was a large force consisting of jammer aircraft, fighters, fighter/bombers,AWACS lots of different types of planes. everyone flew in tight formation as they headed for the island.

The three top squadrons in the Imperial Air Force; Rogue, Talon, and Mobius; had already been deployed to the island. Security was tight, with the majority of the SWTO fleet deployed on patrol around the fortress in paradise.

The INS Illustrious, an Imperial-class battleship, silently cut through the waves. She was escorted by two destroyers, and always kept an eye out on the horizon.

"Radar contacts at point zero-two-five."

Fleet Admiral Martin Hale walked up behind the shoulder of the RADAR operator.

"Aequatian aircraft to the north... Ustians to the east. Alert CentCom. Our guests are right on time."
"Aye, sir."

The flagship of the SWTO fleet continued on its patrol, acting like a sentinel against possible intruders.

Fletcher was the first to hit the tarmac as the other nineteen fighters were brought in for landing thanks to the instructions of the Cravan ATC and their own landing systems. He taxied the Banshee over to the designated hanger for his squadron, followed by his wingman, and once he came to a stop, the canopy slide back and the boarding ladder extended from the fuselage as the brigadier stepped down from the aircraft.

Fletcher shook the officer's hand, "Brigadier-General Derek Fletcher, it's a change from Anson Air Force Base back home, but we'll get used to it, plus it'll be nice to fly over some unfamiliar terrain, it will certainly test my pilots."

The remaining pilots of the squadron had entered the hanger and their aircraft rolled to controlled stops as they disembarked from their fighters, many stretching their legs after the long ferry between the two bases, his wingman, Lieutenant-Colonel Katharyn "Tigerlady" Tomiko, walked over in still in her flight suit, her thin figure obscured by the suit's bulkiness, "Brigadier, Sir, the Aggressors have landed and are ready for action."

As the 10th fleet of The Warring Minorities Navy approached Cravan waters one of the circling Hawkeyes picked up three ships on the horizon. Sir we have three ships on radar, they look like a Cravan battleship and escourts. Admiral Grace Dobson lifted herself out of the captains chair of WMS Delicate Thunder and picking up the radio she announced the arrival of the fleet; Cravan vessels, this is the Warring Minorities 10th fleet. We are here for the GASN exercise and request entry to Cravan territorial waters.

OCC: ha ha, very funny but you got to admit Demon Lord of the Round Table is a pretty kick ass name and I'm also a big fan of AC so why not have them be my aces considering Ustia and Ustio are very similar.

Over Ocean:
Eric picked up the Cravan vessels on radar. Seemed like a patrol group. He
switched frequencys and sent a message. "This is the Ustian 6th air divison requesting vector to Cayanace AFB for the exercise, please respond."

"roger that." A few minutes later the skreching sound of an F/A 35 Talon hiting the tarmac was heard as the 66th and the rest of the 6th air divison landed at Cayanace. Eric powered down the Talon and pulled her into the hanger bay. The cockpit door raised up slowly and the air crew pulled over a ladder. Eric steped out of the Talon and took in the fresh air. He looked around and say nothing but shining water and pretty much paradise. "Beautiful isen't it sir." John startled Eric a little for apareing out of nowhere. He got under control and said to him "anything is more beautiful then that nuclear sky we saw at lordis." Suddenly he had a flash back. He was siting in his cockpit flying above Lordis when the nuke went off. he could here the sounds of his squadron screaming for life over the radio and then silence. They were all dead. "uhh captain you alright?" John's voice brought him out of his trance. He got up and said "Yeah I'm fine" and then walked off.

The small fleet slowed to a gentle pace as they entered Cravan waters. As the ships pulled around to the anchorage off the island, a C-39D SabreLiner carrying Admiral Grace Dobson and her attendant staff touched down at Cayanace Air Force Base. The plane drew up on the tarmac outside the main hangar to be met by Brigadier General Harold Lawson who was waiting patiently at the bottom of the mobile steps. "Greetings, Brigadier General. Nice weather you guys have here, should make a nice change from guarding those bloody conveys to The Andromedan."

As the various commanding officers arrived, they were directed by the staff to the main command building on the tarmac. It was obvious this base was very important, for guards patrolled the area in very dense and very irregular patterns to keep those unwanted out. Guards were heavily armed with the Aequatian made M2 Inantry Carbine, the current standard issue.

Lawson walked along with Fletcher and Dobson, and watched in the distance as the Ustian pilots were helped down from their aircraft.

Well, that only leaves the Northfordians, Findanians, Wanderjarians, and anyone who hasn't responded.

He looked back to the two flag officers walking along with him towards the command building, the hot tropical sun beating down hard on them.

"So, I see you've got a fancy new kind of fighter.", he said to the Aequatian general. "I must admit, it looks impressive."

Fletcher took notice of the guards armed with the M2 rifles, "Just like home," He thought to himself as Lawson spoke, "Yes, she's an excellent bird, designed after a few bad experiences overseas in Red Tide from LIDAR-guided missiles, the black retro-reflective paint also makes them look fairly bad-ass in my opinion as well," The brigadier said with a grin, "They'll give your jockeys a good run for their money."

The Illustrious slowly inched its way to the pier in the harbor, and Admiral Hale walked briskly down the gangway. His white uniform was pristine, despite the heat. He walked to an HMMWV, and was driven to the headquarters building to meet with the arriving commanders.

General Jimmy Arnold was the leader of the 6th. The C-17 globemaster he was riding in touched down at Cayanace and unloaded its cargo. Air crew and engineers walked out and headed for there squadrons as Jimmy disembarked. An Ustian soldier ran toward Jimmy stoping, saluting and then catching his breath. The general a little inpastient said "Yes?" The soldier stood up and said "Sir they need you at the main command building right away. Everyone is meeting there." Jimmy responded "Thank you soldier, carry on." He saluted him and headed for the command building. There was heavy security all around the command building. He felt kind of vulnerable but continued on. he noticed the commanding officers from the other nations. He walked over to them and intrudised himself. "Hello I'm General Jimmy Arnold commander of the 6th air divison its a pleasure to be working with you all."

Colonel Tomiko sat in the base's cafeteria with a cup of coffee as she went over a few of the technical booklets that came with the new aircraft, they were not too different from the previous models, but they would need to learn a few new tricks with these planes. Around the room were the other pilots, mostly sitting in groups as they talked, being alone did not bother her, she was used to it being an only child and a loner in school and at the Air Force Academy in Arrio.

Lawson greeted the Ustian general with a smile and a handshake.

"Welcome.", he said cheerfully. He then turned to the Aequatian general.

"Well, our first exercise will probably be a warm up dogfight. Then we'll move on to bomber escort, assuming Northfordian aircraft get here on time. Then we'll move ahead with some CAS ops. Then maybe a naval air sim. The adgenda is still being worked on, to an extent."

The two huge carriers dropped anchor just outside the main port on Cayanace. There was soon established a perimeter of frigates and destroyers around the two ships with numerous smaller craft patrolling between the larger vessels. Planes were by constantly buzzing between the ships and the island, ferrying across all the off-duty seamen for tours around the tropical island.

The Admiral was sat opposite Colonel Tomiko in the cafeteria as the Aequatian officer looked through her new planes instructions. "So those things any good" asked Grace, Colonel Tomiko lowered her reading material so she could see the figure talking to her. "If we have time later would you mind showing me around one of them as they look like an excellent piece of kit."

The image of his squadron bursting into flames keep repeating over and over. He pulled his head up and looked at John. He was the only other pilot that survived the explosion. John noticed him staring and said "sir is something wrong? You've been acting strange lately, tell me whats aching at you." Eric responded "It's the nuke." John frowned and said "come on sir it wasn't your falt. Veragon set off that nuke, they killed practicaly everyone with that blast. Why are you punishing yourself for something you didn't do." "I'm not punishing myself. Its more like shellshock then anything else. I keep on geting flashbacks of the explosion. I have no idea why." Consernd John responded "sir are you going to be able to do this exercise?" Eric snapped back "yes I'm going to do this. I'm fine don't worry about me." "Alright sir whatever you say." While the pilots from around the world were socialising and carrying on in the mess, four men walked through the door, all of them with a well known patch in the Imperial Air Force:

Second Flight Team, 12th Fighter Squadron, better known as Talon Squadron, the most decorated squadron in the Imperial Air Force.

They walked into the mess, with their usual arrogance and huge egos like most Cravanian pilots possessed. Thing was, these guys could actually back it up...

"It's a fine aircraft, handles just as well as the standard A Model with a few new toys and systems," Katharyn said smiling as she spoke before giving a disappointed look and shook her head, "My apologies though, but the boys at AMI were very specific that no one but our own personnel get close to the aircraft. I'm under orders, like any of the others in the squadron, to shoot anyone that isn't authorized to be near the Banshees." It was then that the Cravans entered the room, "Look at their swagger, it's offensive."

Turning her head to see the Cravan pilots who had just entered the mess, Grace jestingly spoke "They sure look like they need taking down a peg or two." One of the four pilots glared at the two women oficers as they walked over to the far side of the mess, obviously knowing they were being mocked. The glare made Grace slightly uneasy as she had become use to her, all female, command staff on bored Delicate Thunder and the complete respect that all her pilots held for her. She began to consider taking to the air in the coming exercises just to show some of these supposidly great pilots how real flying was done. Turning back to the Aequatian officer "We'll show them who's boss around here."

The Talons continued with their walk to the buffet, knowing the foreign pilots were looking at them. They took their food, and sat down at a table, quietly speaking among themselves. Their display of arrogance, however, did not waver even with them quietly conversing. Their pride was visible in the way they conducted themselves, and although the foreign pilots thought of it as disgusting, the Cravanian pilots in the room had the utmost respect for the pilots.

One Cravanian pilot, obviously a nugget, walked up to the Aequatian and Ustian pilots with his wingman.

"Mind if we sit down?"

When the Talons finally left almost everyone in the room was glad to see them go and made jokes about the Talons except Galm team and few of the other veteran pilots. Me Li Carrier Group 3 TaskForce Tiangou (Heavenly Peace), had been detached from duty in Danteri following the Treaty of Neutrality between the Me Li and Kravenite Slave-State Zukariaa. It was a brilliant piece of diplomatic, political, and military application of Power. The Melii had studied the histories and the doctrines of assymetrical warfare. They excelled in subterfuge and "mind games." The Melii however lacked training in co-ordinating with other allied militaries outside of the Isles of Mara.

This Affiliateship with the Gaijins was a hot topic back home...still the grunts could respect a military allaince that helped out the little guys. Mainly because the Melii were still the little guys for the forseeable future. This meant that these Gaijins weren't Daemon Enemies...they might even become limeys (allies).
