Amphibs sought
Upper Weston

The Republic of Upper Weston has decided to form a Marine Corps. Most of the ground equipment will be provided by modification of our existing vehivles and by buying AAVs. However, we require amphibous ships to deploy our new troops and replace our single aging LPD.
We require 3 ships to allow for substaining a constant deployment. We require the following criteria:
Carry 900 troops
Have combined vehicle and cargo space of 30,000 sq. feet
Support 2-3 LCUs
Carry 3-12 H-60 series helicopters
Have limited self-defense capability
Bear in mind that these criteria are not set in stone, however the closer you come to meeting them, the better your chances.
Good luck and we await your submissions.

Barbour-class Convoy Ships.
rather slow, and large Resupply/Convoy ship. Light, simple, easily built, and well defended. Perfect for resupplying your forces, amphibious landings, and moving supplies around.
Crew: 40 Merchant Marines, 30 Navy Gunners
Length: 450 feet
Width: 60 feet
Cargo Capacity: 9,500 tons
Speed: 15 knots
Armament: 4 Anti-Submarine Missiles , 4 20mm CIWS (2 stern 2 aft),
1 155mm Cannon, 4 12.7mm guns around bridge (2 starboard 2 port), 4 Short-range AA missiles, 2 Exocet missiles.
The ship also is equipped with 2 simple dissassembled cranes which can help quickly move supplies onto other ships in rough seas.
$9.2 million US each

Pretty sure you can toss at least one chopper on it, 4 if you keep the deck tidy. Should be able to compromisre and have 3 LCUs in the bow holds, 2 stowed helicopters, and one ready on the platform.
Plus there is no telling what "land systems" you could strap onto the deck for added firepower, a PROHT 12" railgun comes to mind, but you'd need to reinforce the bulkheads first.
On a side note, I suggest you get a few HLCACs (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=412411), listed under "Landing Craft", they'll make up for their price in versatility and faster transit
I'd recomend DMG's assault vessel, here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10242802&postcount=1659). I also remember Pheonix Dynamix also having something to your specs.

Lefanistan's storefront is currently closed due to a civil war.
However, Aequatio's storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=414464) is wide open. At the bottom of this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8739951&postcount=13), there's some amphibious assault vessels, and same goes for this post (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8740047&postcount=19).

Pheonix's stuff has issues...
Like his One-Tenth gauge (10 pdr) fully automatic shotguns, I believe he called that the "street cleaner". His Pocket battleship which you speak of also has problems, his heavy gun turret casements interfere with aircraft handling on the deck. Making it a "one or the other" concept; either big guns or a few planes, but not both.
And yes, I did buy a few of his "street cleaners", and after about 5 seconds of looking at it, made it into a light belt fed 90 mm (with 9 mm left over) artillery piece. Planned to use APDS with it. But for now I am content with stripped down 35 mm cannons and 5" mortars for my man portable artillery needs. Don't be surprised if I riddle someone's mech suit with one of these.
Still, unless I'm looking for comic relief or a new idea to paw around with, Pheonix isn't going to be on the top of my list of storefronts to visit.
Oh, LPHs, funny thing when a conventional one costs twice as much as a nuclear one, remember, you get what you pay for.

Sloan, draft this message to Mr Shaw of Upper Weston.
Mr Shaw, we may be able to provide you with some surplus vessels, in return for some raw materials. We currently have 4 vessels which meet or exceed your criteria that we were about to sink in our littoral seas to create reefs for divers and fish, however, if you can provide us with raw materials, such as unworked, raw iron, and deuterium, we can possibly not only sell you three of ours, but provide you with a little technical assistance in learning to build them yourself. Here are our crafts statistics:
Mane Class Amphibious Assault Ship.
Twin 400PSI steam boilers, twin screw. total of 60000HP at the shafts
740' length
102' beam at waterline
200' with flight elevators extended
drafts 25' under full load, and 30' when ballasted for unloading of LCAC/LCU
approx 30,000metric tonnes displacement
15knots max speed
multiple-enclosed decks for heli/vstol aircraft
6 .50cal emplacements, front and rear phalanx anti-missile weaponry.
Would this be suitable to you?

OOC: btw hurtful that is great because the street sweeper and Mac 10 are real life weapons and that is what my weapon is based on and my modification is 2 gauges larger than a 12 gauge.
In fact the configuration of having a mac 10 under a street sweeper is real as well :p I win

Except for the minor thing with the decimal points, either way it would make a decent anti-mech gun, largely recently replaced by "standard" CC-35C 35 mm Anti Material Rifle.
(Might want to fix that decimal problem)
Also, Pheonix's recent LPH proposal looks quite good, even I'll admit that, though it is 4 times as expensve as DMGs nuclear boat, and twice as expensive as Leafthanistan's Indomitable class (which also carries half as many planes).
How DMG does it is anybody's guess, but I would assume it has to deal with nuclear safegaurds.
Plus, the Aequatian Richards Class makes me jealous, I'll buy 5!
