" Hello, this is Terry McSherry for XNN News. Today, Emperor Alaric Tan'it announced plans for the construction of a new Royal City, the first in over 122 years.

The new city, to be named Ravennii, will be located in the central sector of the Kingdom of Xeraph. It's facilities will be state-of-the-art and will be the first Royal City to have a Space Port in addition to an international airport.

The city will be octagonal in shape, approximately 55 square miles in size, and will house 2 million Xeraphian citizens and 33 foreign embassies. Following tradition, there will be no buildings over one story high.

The Emperor has slated 560,000 AI Engineers to begin breaking ground in one week, construction to be completed in 6-8 months.

Additionally, there will be a military airbase and recon/quick response base 100 miles west of the new city.

The Emperor's staff is presently putting together a short list of invitees for the formal celebration of the new city. It will be the first state affair to be held outside of the capitol of Xeraphia.

The sun had set hours ago, and the smoky murk of the Grand Palace was oppressive. The Grand Palace was actually nothing more than an over-size tent, for the Slayers were nomads, moving from place to place as the seasons dictated.

The Slayers and most of the other nations of the region had been at peace for years now, ever since the signing of The Agreement by The Nine.

Guards had been by the entrances to the Palace all day and night, so it was a wonderment that anyone had gotten past them. But One had.

Lord Blade, titular head of the Slayer Commune, was enjoying both a leg of beef and the attentions of a comely wench when he felt the presence behind him. The girl looked up to see who was there...........and fainted.

Blade glanced behind him and said, " You again. What are you doing skulking around? You can come and go here as you wish."

An eerie voice came from the back of the tent. " And for now I wish to remain in the shadows." The voice was more of a hissing sound than recognizable human speech. " Are you aware that Alaric of Xeraph has completed construction of a new city? And that he is planning some sort of celebration?"

" Yeah..........so what?"

The Presence closed his eyes to slits in a moment of anger, then continued. " It is here that I have decided to make my presence known to the world once again. Twice I have tried to kill that Xeraphian pig, and now I have waited long enough for a third try. We must make plans. Call a gathering of all the clans, tribes, and leaders..........it is time."

Blade turned to respond, but he...it...was gone. He barked an order. " You! Sentry! Send a message to the leaders of all the territories of this land. It's time................"
