Empire of Northern Arabs

Northern Arabs
27-05-2006, 04:24
The Empire of Northern Arabs was a small nation that had big plans to conquer the world through military and other means. The nation was right now, about 5 million people some who were nomadic and others were urban. The nation was absolutely Muslim there was no other religions and no other voice could be talked about except for Arabic no other language was allowed. Two armed men, in grey browny uniforms dragged a veiled women with rifles slung over their shoulders. She had been caught with another man by her husband and because she was poor and the man she was doing the adultry with was rich the man paid his way through the court system while she couldn't. Therefore she was dragged to the makeshift wood struggled and was dragged up the stairs her feet getting caught up in her veil making her fall and bruise her knees.

And being lifted to her feet a rope was tied around her neck and the trap door was released and she fell through, and she struggled her feet kicking several feet off the ground for several minutes before it stilled and she was dead. Her body was removed and another covicted woman for adultry was dragged up the makeshift hanging stage and fell through the trap door like the first.

Both bodies were then put in a cart and then burried in unmark graves.

"They wish to be left alone, yet they wish to take over the world?" Said the president as he looked over a report on the current situation within Northern Arabs, "And they publicly hang people and expect the world to not be outraged? What can we do to fix this?"

An intelligence officer shook his head, "We could attempt to eliminate the nation's leaders with surgical strikes, but even that may not work due to the nomadic nature of the country. Other than that, we could just simply glassify the nation and its population."

"What's the closest asset we have to the nation?" Saltzman asked his group of advisors and generals.

A naval officer looked through a number of reports, "Sir, we have the destroyer Barnes along with the frigate Esienman, we could have them deployed to within a hundred kilometres from their coast and ready to strike at targets within their capital of Akbarica."

The intelligence officer spoke, "What would our justification be in this matter?"

"Maintainance of stability," Said the president, "They wish to take over the world, this is merely a preventative measure."

Captain Philip Cowan stood on the bridge as the vessel received its orders for deployment to Northern Arabs. They would be performing strike against targets such as government buildings and important infrastructure points like power stations and transformers. The two ships changed course and steamed ahead at thirty two knots, soon enough they would unleash their weapons.

President: Omar Kah speech:

"To the people of the Empire of Northern Arabs. Today we are 5 million strong and we will fight the infidels and we will ensure that no infidel country will direct us in our course of action as we spread throughout the Arab world uniting our Muslim brothers and then spread and either convert the infidels or destroy them'.

This was followed by cheering crowds and other quest speakers.

The vessel slowed to a steady fifteen knots alongside the frigate Esienman as they prepared the weapon systems aboard, including the BGM-172 Pike cruise missile, armed with 450kg high-explosive warheads. Captain Cowan was waiting for the next satellite pass so that the Naval Intelligence office in Aequatio could determine their targets.

Omar Kah sat at the table and sipped cool lemonade as he watched a small dust storm blow by. He had sent contacts out in the Arab world as well as black markets for weapons and equipment for his newly created nation, no wait his newly created nation that will become a global empire. In the nation of Northern Arabs, Omar Kah had come from a nomadic background and he had been educated in western cities and saw attacks by foreign nations on Arab countries as a sign that they did not want to prosper. So his plan was to take over other Arab nations that are totally Arab or have large Muslim populations, through political means or through military means if necessary. He didnt really want to attack Western civilization unless it attacked him but he believed that the only way to show them that they couldn't push Muslims around was to be one united empire. And strike once they strike.

Cowan stood within the ship's Combat Information Centre as the first information started to arrive via satellite transmission from fleet command in Aequatio. Nearly a dozen targets within the city of Akbarica, many were suspected government buildings although there were a few infrastructure targets, such as a large transformer which provided the urban centre with power and a few bridges that were heavy with traffic. The weapons control officer had his personnel prepare the vertical launch system of the destroyer with the Pike cruise missiles and coordinated with the frigate to launch its weapons. Fire poured from the small doors laying on the deck of the ships and within ten minutes, over a dozen weapons were on their way towards their targets in Akbarica.

"Well, it probably has something to due with these Northern Arabs publicly hanging adultresses and planning to conquer the world."

"Well. Prepare a human aid team to help them out when all this is over. Positive PR for us, and if we find anything interesting..."

Northern Arab military base:

With the incoming missles targeting a high-school as well as a hospital in the capital soldiers and the government was told of the incoming cruise missiles. Therefore anti-missile weapons were fired in the capital lighting up the night sky and sirens blared across the capital. Luckily, three of the 12 missiles were hit by anti-missile rounds and exploded in the atmosphere. However, two missiles missed harmlessly, but seven missiles hit the capital.

One hit the Presidetial palace, three hit military institutions and two hit residential areas.

Presidential Palace:

Omar Kah breathed heavily as he felt blood trickle down his face. Several paramedics were putting him in an ambulance as flames were being combated by firefighters. A small fire still raged and it appeared that the bottom right area of the first floor had been damaged.

One soldier was covered in a white tarp while another 10 people were taken away in ambulances.

News Report:

A foreign infidel nation attacked Northern Arabs Empire today and six missiles to seven hit the capital. The Presidential palace was hit killing one soldier and elsewhere, 2 civilians have been reportedly killed on a strike on a hospital while another 29 people have been wounded.

Cowan sipped his coffee as reports came back in from the strike missions. His intelligence officer examined the newest photographs that had come in from the latest satellite pass before walking over to the captain, "Sir, a few of our weapons were knocked out by surface-to-air batteries and our next set of targets should be radar installations and communication hubs."

The captain nodded as his staff prepared for the second wave of missiles, this time they would be firing at radar and military installations with missiles armed with cluster submunitions while communication hubs would be targetted by the same 450kg high-explosive warheads. After a short while, two dozen missiles were launched towards their respective targets.

Defense Minister Anton Girerd thumbed through the report concerning the Aequatian attack on this new empire of Northern Arabs. It was a dicey situation, and from a standpoint of realpolitik would be to the Imperial Commonwealth's benefit to ignore the situation. Especially given the conditions between the Khailfah al Musilmeen and Oceania, the Imperial Commonwealth would do best to remain neutral in the world of Muslim affairs. Unfortunately, the Emperor rarely operated according to realpolitik. Alexei Saarad was a very idealistic man, to put it politely.

On the final page of the report was a list of the Imperial Commonwealth' assets in the area. A submarine about 600 nautical miles away, a pair of destroyers a little closer but in the opposite direction, and a cruiser, the HMS Lysithea, currently about a hundred kilometers offshore.

HMS Lysithea, outside Northern Arab territorial waters:
Captain Richard Harding watched from the brigde as crews prepared a UAV drone for launch; the drone would be the Lysithea's eyes inbetween satellite passes over the area. A helicopter was in the process of being fueled as well, and the cruiser was being ordered to full combat alert as it entered this potentially dangerous situation. Harding turned to the communications officer, who nodded to confirm that a message had been sent to the Aequatian military vessels in the area.

Message to RNS Barnes:
RNS Barnes, this is cruiser HMS Lysithea, alerting you to our presence in the area. The Imperial Commonwealth has ordered us to observe the situation in the area, and if necessary, support Aequatian surgical strikes with our own. Radio contact is advisable for further coordination.

Fires still raged in several parts of the capital as the death toll from the attacks was raised to 4, 2 civilians and 2 soldiers with 42 people wounded in the attack and fires.

Central Command found through technology in their area where the source of the missiles were from, and they directed several Ground to Sea missile battaries that ring the capital fired about 20 missiles at these ships out in the ocean. Going at 200 miles per hour, the missiles weren't too bad for a new nation but it was probably only going to be 1/5 that hit its target.

As this occured, near the captial several instalations that were of civilian and military telecommunications were hit by missiles. Explosions lit up the night sky as already tired and scared residents ran out into the streets to see the explosions. With no comments from President Omar Kah, they were afraid that this was some kind of infidel attack or tribal attack on their empire.

Fire trucks and ambulances arrived at the several attack sites and pulled survivors from the damaged buildings.

------------

News Report:

A second attack has occured tonight on military and civilian installations around the capital city. However, the military has stated that it has fired back a salvo at the infidels. However sadly, 2 civilians and 3 soldiers were killed in this latest attack and 28 more people were wounded bringing the death toll up to 9 people killed as well as 80 people wounded.

The ship's alarms were raging as the vessel's phased array radar picked up the incoming missiles from the mainland. As the destroyer and frigate were conducting land attack missions, their vertical launch systems and their crews were preparing them with the cruise missiles and they were unable to launch the first level of defence for the vessel, the RIM-154 Sea Comet surface-to-air missile. The radar tracked the incoming weapons and the close-in weapon systems awoke with their electronic eyes, the RIM-118 Rolling Airframe Missiles launched in a continuous stream towards their targets as the weapon mounts aboard the frigate did the same. Several of the enemy missiles disappeared from the monitors in CIC, however, there were still five incoming as the advanced Falltech high-energy laser mounts opened fire with invisible beams, they managed to destroy two more before it was too late to stop them, Cowan watched in horror as two of the remaining three missiles streaked towards the Barnes, "Brace!" The first missile struck the bow of the vessel, destroying the vessel's turret and its twin 127mm guns while the second went on to strike the starboard pontoon which made up part of the helicopter landing deck. The third missile, which was aimed against the frigate, hit the vessel's enclosed mast, effectively rendering the frigate blind for the time being. The destroyer shook as the weapons struck it, Cowan had managed to keep his footing as he looked to his XO, "Get damage control crews to work and I want a damage report in fifteen minutes!"

General Aziz Cateras had had naval experience before he had gotten into the army but since this empire needed a navy he had been selected as one of the officers to lead this battle group. Quickly he ordered the destroyer Herat along with the frigate Akbarica to open up with front turrets and launch torpedos.

Quickly the two ships in front of him sent out a burst of turret fire lighting up the night sky following by a flow of waves as two torpedos were sent from each ship.

Praying to Allah General Cateras ordered the comms man to open up communication with the two ships and tell them to surrender their ships and their crew and they will be treated fairly. Or leave Northern Arab waters and don't return.

Alarm claxons wailed as the missiles slammed into the Aequatian ships. Captain Harding shouted orders on the bridge as the MEQ.181 NAIADS anti-air radar system swept the sky for other incoming missiles in the electronics suite. Ordering the communications officer to dispatch a message to Naval Command in Kingston, Harding left his XO on the bridge and headed for the flight deck, where the cruiser's helicopter was being readied.

Reaching the senior deck officer, he shouted to be heard over the rotors of the aircraft. "Get that chopper in the air, and see if we can take any of the Aequatian wounded. Go!"

Waving his hand to signal the pilot to take off, the deck officer and the captain moved off of the flight deck, with the captain heading back inside.

Hundreds of kilometers away, the Imperial High Seas Fleet Rapid Deployment Force Group was leaving their port of Kingston, Jamaica, sailing for the Lysithea's location. The orders from the politicals were clear: attempt to stop the situation from escalating further, and if that failed, crush Northern Arabs as quickly as possible in order to maintain the status quo.

*****

"Torpedo in the water!" The XO looked up from a console, toward the sonar station.

"MEQ.185 SELKIE has acquired sir, deploying countermeasures." The ship's defensive systems were already active. Computers buzzed and electronics whirred as the Lysithea deployed measure to protect itself from the incoming torpedoes. The Aequatian ships were far away, and Executive Officer Jake Stanley doubted that the Lysithea's MLQ.135 Mackerel anti-torpedo countermeasures would be able to defend them as well. High Command had informed the bridge of a major heat bloom at one of Aequatio's main naval bases; Stanley wondered if the Arabs knew what they were getting into.

Desist from this conflict immediately and allow for peacekeepers to be sent to your nation so that this minor conflict doesn't turn out into a full conflict.

We oppose the attack on civilians and the President of the Empire even if his idea that infidels have th be taken care of and world domination is what he wants to do. It's isn't practical. So we believe that all forces should withdraw before more deaths occur and peace talks or even an embargo or sanctions against this new nation will suffice.

It is small, it is a small economy and it is nomadic. Sanctions would probably cripple the government and result in a more ideal government.

Cowan was monitoring the repair actions taking place when his radar officer spoke, "Captain, we have contacts coming in, I count four vessels of two types, excort-sized and they are probably an hour out."

"Contact the Esienman, have them prepare to fire their 127mm guns, we're out of the fight for now," Replied Cowan as he read over one of the damage reports.

"Can't raise them, Sir, their mast was knocked out by an ASM," Said the communications officer.

The sonar operator interputed, "Sir, we have four fish in the water, heading on bearing two-one-zero,"

"Take evasive maneuvers, fire noisemakers off the torp launchers!" Ordered the captain as water was kicked up just off starboard from the enemy shells, "What do we have?"

"After we fire those noisemakers, we can fire off Mark 60 540mm torps to intercept, we also have a few ASM Pike missiles ready to fire from the stern VLS," Said the weapons officer.

"Make it so,"

The destroyer fired off the noisemaker canisters which presented a sonar false signature which would both mask the ship's true signature as well as act as decoys for the weapons before they fired off four BGM-172 Pike anti-ship missiles from the rear vertical launcher, aimed at the advancing warships. The noisemakers were successful as the torpedoes either passed harmlessly by the ship or detonated as they struck the canisters within the water, the shells however, managed to crawl towards the vessel before striking the armoured plating above the main deck and damaging the helicopter flight deck and hanger at the stern. The frigate's turret traversed as its gunners fired off their 127mm shells, guided by the still-functioning phased array radar. At the stern of the frigate the ship's SH-20 helicopter, armed with a single Mark 60 540mm torpedo, lifted off the flight deck and started on a course towards the enemy vessels, it stayed low on the water to avoid detection from the enemy radar.

Suddenly, the order came direct from naval command in Bandar-E Abbas, the worryingly agressive and expansionist Empire of Northern Arabs had come under attack from a single Aequatian ship and several barrages of missiles.

This small task force was perhaps the closest Parthian force in the area, a mere day away from their target, they would move to reinforce the lone Aequatian vessel RNS Barnes. The vessels each moved ahead, engaging all motors as they accelerated to 25 knots. Hopefully, they would be there in time to ensure that the Arabs were cowed into submission. First, Commodore Ardeshir Tehrani would have to call the Aequatians on radio to ensure they knew the Parthians were coming, walking to the radio room, the Commodore gave a note to the officer on duty there, who read it into the radio, "This is His Imperial Majesty's Ship Jamshid, calling to offer assistance against hostile agressors in the area, if desired, please acknowlege."

The shells raked the destroyer with little damage beyond external, although they did not do much to the armoured hull. The frigate fared about the same, taking damage to its starboard pontoon. Captain Cowan stood in CIC as the torpedos made their way towards the vessels, "Deploy the Nixies and noisemakers, get them off our trail!"

The towed decoys dropped off the stern of both vessels as the torpedoes approached in addition to the deployment of the noisemaker canisters. Half of the torpedoes were fooled by the noisemakers as they either passed by the ships or detonated as they struck the canisters while four more engaged the Nixie decoys and detonated harmlessly to the aft sections of the vessels. However, two managed to get through with one striking the destroyer on its already damaged starboard pontoon, which utterly destroyed it and forced the ship into a slight list while the second hit the forward vertical launch cells of the Esienman and its bow slowly began to sink below the surface, the ship's damage control teams were quick to contain the fires and sealed the watertight doors in the bow section. For the moment, the Barnes and Esienman were out of the fight, with the enemy vessels closing quickly.

Cowan watched on the radar monitors as the Northern Arab vessels approached and turned to the Marine detachment leader, Commodore Alexander Haskel, "How soon can you have your force ready for action?"

The Marine officer smiled, "They've been ready since we arrived in these waters."

"Good, we're going to have those ships come close and I want your people to board their vessel and disable it, I'll have the force aboard the frigate do the same, their gun turret will also be able to knock out a ship or two," Explained the captain as he turned to his XO, "Send a message to their vessels, tell them we surrender and will gladly hand our ships over."

The XO grinned as he worked with the communications officer on a message:

To the Northern Arab Vessels

After underestimating your power and taking extensive damage and losses by the hands of your brave warriors, we have chosen to surrender and will gladly hand our vessels over to a skeleton crew so that we may be interned within your nation and hope for mercy at the hands of your justice system.

Super Secret Message to RNS Barnes

From: Admiral Taol Jenovorich, Commander of the Kranasis battlegroup

We see that you are heavily damaged, and that it seems that you are at a disadvantage. With your permission, we will send 10 naval bombers to assist you, and sink/disable/scatter the Northen Arab ships. While we have officialy not changed our stance on the conflcit, and remain neutral, the airplanes that we would send would be wearing made up colors pretaining to no nation.

We await your reply.

(OOC: I have some of your plane designs on teh Kranasis, and might send those, or I could test out my strike aircraft)

The Northern Arab ships did not know how to take this message. The two frigates were ordered to advance on the two ships. The turrets were pointed at each ship and Arab troops were prepared to open fire with machine guns and 50 cal.

The message was issued;

We are sending two frigates to your ships and we hope your forces surrender quietly.

Cowan smiled, "Excellent, they've fallen for it," He said as he turned to his XO, "Are the Marines prepared?"

The officer nodded, "Yes, Sir, our crew have also concealed the 35mm autocannons and 23mm machineguns, just before the Marines attack, they are going to strafe the decks with HE rounds."

"Great, as soon as those frigates pull up, give them the hard good-bye," Said the captain.

The frigate's gun crew on the 127mm mount also prepared to fire their gun manually at the approaching vessels along with the gun crews on the 35mm and 23mm cannons.

A message was also sent in reply to the Franberry aircraft:

To Franberry Aircraft

Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated, we can deal with the frigates, have your aircraft target the NA destroyers.

The two frigates got close to the two damaged ships. However, they had deployed several small boats that were released with about six soldiers on each a total of 40 in total and they headed to the frigate. They got near the frigate that was sinking the small boats that would probably be looking like ocean.

They then tossed up several ropes and walked up the side of the frigate on the other side of the ship away from the two Arab frigates.

The two Arab frigates floated to within turret and cannon range.

The 40 soldiers that climbed aboard the ship, they were prepared to take the crew of the Aequatio crew.

Moving around they noticed several sailors;

"Surrender!"

"It's aproved" an aide said to Admiral Jenovoroich
"Very well, send 6 strike planes and 4 fighters to provide cover"
"Yes sir!"
"And continue our course, the planes are not to be detected, they are to take off using the nromal patrol routes that we have been running, then get out of radar. We will not comment on the attack"

On the deck of the Kranasis

A sailor waved the aircraft onto the catapult, while others scrambled out of the way of other planes manuevering along the deck of the carrier.

The planes quickly took off, and maintained the patrol routes that the fleet had been running the whole time. The aircraft had different emblems and stripes compared with your usual Franberrian naval aircraft. (OOC: Not paint, adhesives)

The 4 Fe-100's and 6 Fe-a-105's went towards their targets at high speeds, doing their best not to appear on radar.

Task Force 3

The Parthians could see the Aequatian ships in the distance, damaged slightly, but also the Northern Arab vessels, with two frigates moved close to the Aequatian vessels. The Commodore wasted no time, ordering the destroyers to demonstrate the power of the Parthian navy, even on small scale, on the two vessels staying away from the four ship tangle.

The 16 torpedo tubes of the HIMS Pahlavi let loose a torrent of 16 torpedoes at the Arabian away from from the Aequatian ships The Mk-48s hit the water, then accelerated at 48 knots towards the Arabian vessels, hopefully, they would both be knocked out.

The three vessels now turned their attention towards the Arabian frigates which had moved near the Aequatian ships in what appeared to be a haphazard boarding attempt, they decided not to risk further damaging the Aequatian vessels with accidental gunfire, or even the explosion of the Arab vessels, but rather chose a simpler method, moving closer in while preparing the 350 Marines the vessels carried in total to board the enemy frigates.

The sixteen torpedos were spotted on radar and beacons and other measures were deployed which destroyed most of the torpedos. However, two torpedos struck both ships. Water began to fill in both but was locked down quickly. One sailor was missing on the ship of General Aziz Cateras.

Task Force 3

The Shah's vessels now responded again with another barrage of 16 torpedoes from the HIMS Shapur Bakhtiar, each of the Mk-48s were set with active sonar sensors, designed to activley pick up the acoustic signal of the enemy vessels utilizing direct beams of sonar waves. These now would be much more effective, upgraded with a target filtering system that recieved information from signals sent to the torpedo via a laser designator on the Shapur Bakhtiar. The enemy vessels would be unable to confuse the sensors as the torpedoes now were told at every conceivable period in their short life where the enemy vessels were.

Following that, the 8 inch ETC guns opened fire upon the enemy vessels in the distance, shooting with enough velocity to rip through armor and explode deep in the vessels, since they were using DU sabot shells at this relativley close range. All the while the Parthian ships prepared for the up close and personal run in with the two frigates nearest the Aequatian ships.

Gunnery Sergeant Geoff Morris waited with a platoon of thirty eight Marines as they waited for the Northern Arab personnel to come aboard, he turned to his sergeants and talked in a low whisper, "All right, when those squids open up with the guns, we'll hit those fuckin' ragheads hard." The sergeants nodded as one of them pulled the charging bolt on his MG55A2 light machinegun. As soon as he had finished speaking, the Navy personnel pulled off the dark grey tarpaulins off the large 23mm machineguns and stabilized 35mm autocannons as they took aim at the small boats and the frigates in the short distance, Master Chief Ralph Gerrard, who was leading the team controlling the frigate's 127mm gun swung the mount around and started firing armour-peircing incendiary shells aimed for the enemy ship's waterline and bridge. "Fuckin' get some!" Shouted a chorus of Marines as Morris led the platoon as they charged from the hatches at the stern of the vessel and started firing at the Northern Arab soldiers who had climbed aboard.

RNS Barnes

Just as the frigate's guns had opened fire, the 23mm and 35mm guns opened fire from the decks of the destroyer against the small boats and the frigates in the distance. Cowan laughed as he slapped his XO on the shoulder, "Hah, I knew they couldn't resist a catch like these ships, even if they knew it was a trap!" He pointed to his weapon's officer, "Lieutenant, fire 540mm torps off the deck, I want those fish in the water!" The order was followed as ordinance teams loaded the mounted triple launchers and fired the weapons off towards the enemy frigates, making sure they were on a course that would not have them circle around to the Esienman if they missed.

Aboard Dauberline 1, enroute from the Capitol to the city of Kyrulea on the southern coast (a popular tourist area this time of year)

"Mr President!"

"What Sloan? Can't you see I'm studying my speech?" spoke Pres Bill Lloydwright.

"Theres been another flare up in the Northern Arabs waters, it seems the Parthians decided to engage in a little warfare"

"Uh oh.. that sounds bad.. who's side are they on in this?"

"It seems they want to destroy the Arabs.."

Hmm, Bill thinks to himself.. i do not wish to get involved against those two, but maybe.. yes... that could work.

"Mr Sloan, draft this message to the Parthians and Aequations"

We have been watching the action against the Northern Arabs, and while we would like to maintain neutrality, we have also discovered vast amounts of crude oil in the region.. something which, while we do not lack it entirely, we are always looking for multiple supplies for our national needs. Perhaps we could detach a few of our submarines to support your surface vessels, in exchange for allowing us to place a dew small drilling stations in and around Northern Arabia once it has been eliminated?

"Yes sir, Mr President.. very slick"

"Oh shut up, Sloan, you know I despise yes-men. Now, let me finish studying my speech"

OOC: Btw.. what we lack in surface vessels, we make up for in sub-surface vessels.. we have presence nearly everywhere, but prefer to remain unseen.. therefore, are subs are small, approx 10 very small 15man recon vessels in that area of the world(our most advanced recon units use fuel cells, but the ones in that area are diesel/electric, not nuclear, and we have 1 nuke-powered attack sub heading towards the area, after the fighting started.. just in case. :)

Captain Harding watched with a slight grin as the Arabian sailors boarded the Aequatian ships and were subsequently ambushed. The Aequatians were certainly brave; they were taking a mighty risk by allowing the enemy to get so close. The surprise counter-attack by the Aequatians, coupled with the pummeling by the newly-arrived Parthian ships, would quickly subdue the Northern Arabians, if it had not already. Harding turned when the comms officer called his name, saying "Captain! Commodore Michaels sends his compliments, and says that the Rapid Deployment group is sending air cover, and the ships will arrive soon. Until the group arrives, the Lysithea is to abide by standing rules of engagement."

Harding nodded, and ordered a reply. The rules of engagement were simple: Lysithea would not open fire on the enemy except in self-defense. If the Arabians didn't shape up and end this while they still could, that might change once the fleet arrived with its two carriers and several marine divisions.

Overhead, a moment later, a flight of jets from the carrier HMS Cameron appeared over the contested sea lanes, in time to see the Aequatians battling the Arabs on their damaged ships. Maintaining a high altitude so as not to alarm the Arabs, the lead pilot broadcast a message to the Aequatian and Parthian ships.

"Commanding officers of Aequatian and Parthian naval forces, this is Major Winters of the Malkyeri Royal Navy. We got two carriers on the way, and a couple of cruisers and some smaller ships; don't shoot at 'em. You fellas need some help down there, or can you handle it? Over."

The pilots came onto the scene, the NA frigates were fighting with the Aequatian ships, and the two destroyers had each taken a torpedo, but did not take much damage.

The Arabs were about to lose their two destroyers.

Lining up in atack formation, the Fe-a-106's went towards each target, 3 to the traget, in a delta formation.

Each Fe-a-106 was carriying 2 AASM-89 "Flying Fish" missiles, designed to take out ships of destroyer size, a hit from one of these missiles would (if ecverythign went right) sink a destroyer.

The Fe-100's flew high cover, just in case some NA aircraft showed up, while the Fe-a-106's closed on their targets.

"Group 2 Coming up on target"
"Roger that. Group 1 coming up on target"
"Roger, everyone follow standard procedure 6-7-I"
"Roger"
"Group one! In range! Fire one!"

The aircraft in the first group, targeting the nearest ship, fired one missile each. 3 "Fliying Fish" flew towards the ship

"Group two! In Range! Fire one!"
The second flight opened up on the second destroyer, each one firying one missile.

"3 Flying Fish per ship! haha"
"Thats overkill!"

Cowan was talking with his communications officer when the Malkyer message came in, "Send a reply to ask for their IFF signatures, so that we may be sure not to fire on your aircraft and ships once they enter the area of operations, even though we can hold our own for a while, we'll beed help until we can get a fleet tender in here."

The officer nodded, "Aye, Sir," He said as the message was sent.

Receiving the Aequatian response, Winters keyed a switch on his radio which patched the message through to the Cameron, where the command crew immediately sent Malkyeri IFF codes to the Aequatians. Upon hearing confirmation that the ships below wouldn't fire on his planes, Winters and his flight turned down, heading for the Arabian ships. The incoming planes went low, and while it would not mask their presence from the Arabs since they had already been high enough in the air to be spotted, it would help to keep enemy weapons radars from locking onto them. As the frigates and destroyers came into focus both visually and on radar, the pilots locked weapons and fired their missiles at the ships. Once the weapons were away, eight missiles total, the planes peeled off and headed back for their carrier.

The lead ships of the RDFG were in range now, and the eight frigates and four destroyers established a dispersed perimeter, with radars and anti-air defenses online and ready. Onboard the light carriers Cameron and King Dayan, forty fighters of the Royal Navy Air Wing were readying for take-off as crews scurried about, securing weapons and checking fuel. The cruisers Churchill and Walsea readied missiles targeted at areas around the capital, in case the Northern Arabs tried to strike back at the fleet. The Lysithea prepared her missiles for launch as well, ready to hit the Arabs again if need be.
