"Why we have ta be out here anyway sarge?"
"Cuz we gotta. now shutup and keep watchin"
Private Kevin Gow grumbled and continued trudging through the jungle, rifle ready and suit visor open. Even with the air conditioning running at full tilt it was to hot for him.
"You hear what they been sayin at base? The whole cursed thing?"
"This forest aint cursed. now keep watchin private or ill kick ur ass back to Rynald."
"Sorry sarge."
Kevin was on patrol with his sergeant, Tim Sester. They were supposedly on a recon mission, although why a recon mission needed a fire base nearby was unknown. Gow know something was going on here, he just couldnt figgure out what.
Off to the left, there was a rustling, followed by a crack.
"What's that?"
The Sergeant tensed, and lowered his visor. Kevin did the same.
"Cover me, I'm going to check it out..."
The jungle around them suddnely burst into flame. "OH MY GOD!!" The flames grew taller, until they reached were as high as treetops.
"Sarge... why doesnt the jungle burn...?"
Sarge whipped around to face kevin. "What are you babbling about private?"
"Sir, the trees, they aren't burning..."
"Alright, now extinguish the flames." The professor said to the student as he observed or collected the finals, depending on which fields the student wished to take.
"Yes professor." The student, a young lady by the name of Valeri Collan, replied as she cast the spell to extinguish the unburning fire. She was hoping to get into the collage where she could become a lighting mage, or the equivilant of an electrician had the concept of electricity been known.
"Very good." Professor Oppenheimer replied as he made some notations. "Roy, I believe you decided to hand in your final assignment."
"Yes professor." Roy Marko replied picking up the a thick binder in which his research was done on. He hoped to be a researcher in the existance and manipulation of magick at it's most basic components.
Once all but the last student had demonstrated or handed in thier assignments, with none as elaborate as Valeri's, the final student stepped up. He was aiming for acceptance in the elite SorTec. SorTec was both the protective force for the nation and the agency that policed and ensured the responsible usage of those that had the mystical talents beyond the basics that all but a few citizens had. It also dealt with the occasional beasts that were beyond that of the constabulary.
Once the rest of the students and Professor Oppenheimer stepped back, the tester for SorTec stepped up. Placing his hands on the ground, the powerful mage placed his hand upon the ground and then lifted it with a crackle of arcane magicks. As his hand lifted, a fourty foot beast of stone rose to dwarf the forest Valeri had demonstrated on. With a roar that caused most of the birds in the forest to take off, it rushed Alaxandros, who set himself to deal with the beast.

Kevin and Tim dropped to the ground as the flames went out. As sarge looked around, he noted that kevin was right. Not a single tree had been burned by the fire.
"Sarge, what the hell just happened... are we dead?" Sarge hit Kevin in the arm with his rifle butt. "Ow. what was that for?"
"To check if you were dead. I have come to the conclusion that you are not dead, even if some people wish you were. Now, we need to find out what the hell just happened."
Sarge clicked on his radio. "Black Dog One to Big Momma."
"This is Big Momma. come in Black Dog One"
"I need some reinforcments in here. We got some weird shit going on here. we could use some help. Over."
"Theres another recon team nearby. Ill divert them to your position. Over"
"Thanks Big Momma. BLack Dog One out."
Sarge rolled over and looked at kevin. "Listen up private. We're joining up with another recon team. Until then, we'll just have to find out whats going on by ourselve--"
Sarge was cut off as a huge roar shook the jungle. Birds flew into the sky in droves. "Private! Stay low!"
"Sarge..."
"What!?"
"Sarge..."
Sarge looked where Kevin was staring. A massive stone monster had risen out of the jungle and was rushing right towords their position. Out of reflex sarge armed the grenade attatchment on his rifle.
"Private, in a situation like this, there's only one thing to do."
"What?"
"RUN LIKE HELL!"
They both got up and ran like hell away from the giant stone beast, into the jungle growth.
Unaware of the happenings on the other side of the forest, Alaxandros waited as the creature rushed him. As it reached out to smash him flat, he dove to the side, the construct's fist smashing into the ground behind him. As it worked at pulling it's fist out of the ground, Alaxandro let loose a spell as he reached over to touch the stone skin.
With a cracking sound, the hand and arm began to break apart and fall to the ground. One of the lumps falling from close to the shoulder hit the ground hard, sending a fan of splinters flying. One splinter lodged itself in his shoulder, another opened a thin cut along the back of his hand. Reaching up he pulled the shard from his shoulder.
Taking the peice of stone that was coated in his blood, he hurled it at the beast with an associated incantation. The shard punch into the chest of the monster of rock, before exploding, bringing the monster down.
With the applause of his classmates, Alaxandros returned to his seat.
"Now then, with the tests and assignments handed in, it's spring break. Now go relax, and Alaxandros you should probably go see the healer."

The beast seemed to be fighting something below the treeline. It struggled for a second, then exploded, sending debris everywhere. Kevin was knocked to the ground as a small boulder hit the shoulder of his armor and unballanced him. He got back up and ran on, until he noticed that sarge had stopped.
"Ok then. Thanks for the update. Black Dog One out."
"What they say sarge?"
"The second squad is right nearby. Base says meet up with them and head towords where we saw that monster."
"Wait... towords that thing?"
"Thats what base says." There was rustling in the underbrush and two more armored figures stepped out into sight. Sarge peered at the nametag on the first suit of armor. "Daniels? That you?"
"Sester? Wow. Your the ones who wanted assistance?"
"Yeah. some weird shit going on here. We're gonna see whats goin on."
"Well then, lead on."
The group headed off in the general direction of the monsters death throes.
Twenty minutes later
The group finally reached a clearing in which the monster had obviously died. Rubble lay everywhere, trees shreded all around it.
"What the hell happened here?" Corporal Jason Daniels asked.
"That's what we need to find out." Sarge replied.
"Sarge! Over here." Sarge, Kevin, and Jason ran over to where Private Henry Hutchenson stood. "What is it?"
"Footprints sir. Lots of footprints. They dont seem to be trying to hide them either."
"Who? Whos not trying to hide what?"
Henry smiled. "Well, thats what we gotta find out isnt it."
The group once again headed off, following the footprints through the jungle.
The students had headed back to the academy, a sprawling building with many wings, annexes, and turrets. The older students, including those that had returned from the testing, headed inside to finish packing while the younger grades played games while they awaited the carpets.
As the seniors entered, Valeri walked over to Marko, “How do you think you did?”
“Pretty well, but I’m sure I could have put more research into it.” He replied with a rueful smile, “You did excellent. I’m positive you’ll get into the collage of your choice.”
“Thanks, I hope everyone passed.”
”Ya.” He agreed with a chuckle, “Well I’ve got to go pack, so see you on the carpet.”
As the students packed, or relaxed, one of the group playing with a flying disk, tossed it too hard and it landed near the tree line. The girl shook her head and jogged over to get the disk while her friends called for her to hurry up.

Three freinds travled the jungles routinley.
Yomi A tall slender brown haird girl, was a master of charms and enchantments
Kaouri was a master of power and strength
and Kyo was well..She was just the smart one. She was brilliant but rather pacifistic and not full of self confidense.
"I think someone has been doing semi-fire again." Yomi said. "I fell heat, that is fire like, but nothing is burning."
Kyo said "I think there is a school of some sort in these woods. I don't know. But I heard this place is just as hostile as it is freindly."

The group had been walking for about another 20 minutes when they came to a treeline bordering a large clearing. In the clearing was...
"Thats one big ass castle. How did aerial scans not show this?"
"I dont know sarge. All I know is the footprints lead into that castle there."
The team moved closer to the edge and magnified in on it. Sarge activated the directional microphone in his suit.
"--itive you’ll get into the collage of your choice.”
“Thanks, I hope everyone passed.”
”Ya. Well I’ve got to go pack, so see you on the carpet.”
Sarge leaned back. "Some kind of school. they're talking about colleges."
"Um... sarge?"
"What is it Kevin?"
Kevin opened his mouth and then closed it as a small, frizbee looking disc floated into the middle of the group and landed on the ground.
"Sarge, here comes one of them!"
"Shit. find cover." The team scattered. 3 hid behind trees, but Kevin slipped and fell on his back.
"Damnit private! find cover NOW!" Sarge hissed
"No time!" Kevin turned and aimed his rifle at the clearing, just as the girl entered the shadows of the treeline.
Tara, as the girl who'd tossed the disk was named, ran in to pick up the flying disk. Looking up, she saw a freshly broken branch. Frowning she walked over and picked up the branch and went to the where it had been broken off.
Her father worked for the forestry department, the organisation that keep forests, and animals that lived within, in good condition, and she'd inherited his talents. Placing the branch against the place it had broke, she laid her hand on the joining and held it for a second, greenish sparks flowing from her hand to the branch. When she removed her hand, it was as if the branch had never broken.
Once done, she again picked up the disk and noticed a man. "Hello there, where are you from, what's that in your hand, and were you responsible for breaking that limb?"

OoC: Im assuming that since the students have not yet entered college, they are all teenagers.
IC:
Sarge stepped out from behind his tree, rifle also aimed at the young girl who had somehow reattached a branch to a tree.
"For a teenage girl at gunpoint, you're very fearless. But, since we are near your school, or so Im assuming, I'll answer your questions."
As sarge was saying this, the remaining two team members also stepped out from behind their cover.
"We are from North Mack, an Empire a long long way away. That is a rifle in his hand, and considering it's a .50 cal at this close range, if he fired it you would have no head. And finally, yes it was us who broke that branch, although you seemed to have fixed it up. Now, its our turn."
"Who are you, where are you from, what's that building behind you, and how the hell did you fix that damn branch?"
"What is a gun?" Tara asked, puzzled at the strange word. "Never heard of the first two, but how dare you break a branch for no reason." She all but yelled.
After a second in which she glared at the three men, she replied, "My name's Tara, that's the academy for this area, and wasn't it obvious, I used a herbologic spell.
ooc: There are two schools K-5 is normal(english, math, history, ect) 6-12 is at a magick school(like this one)
There is not disk floating. The flying disk is a frisbee and it's on the ground

"first of al-- wait... a spell? As in magic? As in giant stone monsters rising up and then exploding...?"
"Do you mean the seniors testing?" She asked, "And of course magick, what else would it be?" She added, wondering where these people came from that they didn't know about magick.
North Mack
29-05-2006, 01:50
"Magic." Kevin stood up from his position on the ground. "Holy shit. The fire base, the reconasaince, it all makes sence now..."
"Private, what the hell are you babbling about?" Sarge demanded
"The Empire knew there was magic here. They want it."
"Um... guys? The girl?" Daniels pointed towords the girl. Sarge moved foreward, lowering his gun.
"Listen. we come from somewhere a long way away. Where we come fron we dont even have magic. we have these." He hefted his gun. "If you would be so kind, could you take us to the head of this school?"
OoC: i just noticed. above sarge said it was a 'rifle' but the girl said 'what is a gun'. lol. yay for discontinuity
"I'll take you to a teacher, they might take you to the headmaster." Tara commented as the three men did fun stuff with thier 'guns'. She then picked up the disk and began walking toward the school, before she paused, "How can you not have magick?" She asked
North Mack
29-05-2006, 01:55
"We just dont. We have some people called Pscions, who can do some special things with their minds, but nothing like making unburning flames or summoning giant monsters. Its just something we dont have. Just like you dont have guns." The team followed the girl across the grounds, to meet a teacher
Tara shook her head, the concept was just too strange. She knew that there were a very few without magick, but they were only a very, very few. Tossing the disk to a friend, she quickly told them that the strange men wanted to talk to a teacher, and she'd be back soon.
Leading the three into the building, they would find it lit by massive ribbons of fire that 'burned' upside down providing illumination. She lead them to a a classroom that had a very statuesque, and attractive blonde in it. "Professor Mariana, these men wish to talk with Headmaster Mason."
The professor looked up with piercing blue eyes and asked, "May I help you gentlemen?"

Sarge stepped foreward, raised his visor and extended his hand.
"I am Sergeant Tim Sester of the North Mack Imperial Army. I have been instructed by my superiors to arrange a meeting with your leader, or leaders, at a future date."
The other three members of the team stared. The government had known about there being magic and they hadn't told the men?
The others, while digesting this information, also raised their visors and slung their rifles across their backs, realizing that even heavy weaponry wouldn't protect them from many hundreds of magicians on their home turf

the three girls watched the whole event, before they left. "We had better report this."
In a dimly lit chamber the three entered and kneeled.
"Rise children." Said a Sorceress, drapped in a long black robe.
"Mi-lady, we bring news from the jungle. Mortals, mortal with guns."
"So the mortals want the land do they." Or so was her assumption. She never trusted mortals. "They will have to pry it out of our hands. Kyo."
"Yes Mistress?"
"Rise."
She rose and approached her.
"I know this can be hard for you. But you must be strong, against any mortal force."
It was Mortal Men that stole her family awaye, from their tiny colony.
"You are brilliant child. Don't let anyone tell you diffrent."
"But I'm no good at magic."
"You are too. Everyone is good at magic. The key is trusting your power. If I ask will you take up armes against the mortal soldiers?"
"Yes milady."
"Good girl. Get some rest all of you. Tomorrow, we sneak into the Mortal Base, and see what we find."
"They held guns to the children milady."
"Yes Yomi I'm sure they did. Go rest now. Your parents are probably worried."
Kyo however had no parents. The Lady took her in.
"Kyo let me see your eyes."
Kyo took off her glasses. "They're pretty. Don't forget that."
"Interesting, but negotiations with a military very rarely go well." Professor Mariana commented as she gestured, causing three chairs to pull themselves up.
"Take a seat, Mason may be interested in seeing what you want.."
She got up and moved to a small box. Pressing a lever, a humanish creature an inch in high stood up. "Michael, there are three foreigners who wish to speak with you, and ultimately with the Council in my class room."
"I'll be right there Jane."
A few minutes later, a man in his late thirties, early fourties arrived at the door, his long brown hair tied back. "So what would you like?"

A group of 13 rotten bacon soldiers one of which was Commander Gree one of the three major generals in the army came through
" i don't belive this i am in command of over 20 million peopel and i have to come here and work with 12."
off in the distance they heard noise.
Come on Gree yelled at the squad. when they got to the clearing they saw a soldier pointing a gun at the girl. Gree came up behing and pointed his gun at the back of the soldiers head. while montining to his troops to fan the area he said. "one move in any bad dirention and your head will resemble a dohnut, now drop the gun and put you hands on your head b**ch."
after hearing the invite in Gree and his men lower their weapons and followed the sarge inside.

"As I said earlier, I am Sergeant Tim Sester of the North Mack Imperial Army. I have been instructed by my superiors to arrange for a meeting at a future date. I do not know any information personally about what will be discussed at the meeting, I have simply been told to arange one."
The three other members of the team sat in the chairs, while Sarge remained standing, facing the man.
"Imperialism, such an unseemly concept." Michael Mason commented idly, "As to arranging a meeting, I'd suggest that if your superiors wished such a meeting, they should come in person to present their ideas. If they come here, they'll get the meeting they wish, but not if they aren't prompt."
North Mack
01-06-2006, 00:37
"Well, If promptness is that important, I'll call them in now."
Sarge activated his suit-radio.
"Black Dog One to Big Momma. We have contact. Bring in the Big Cheese, over"
"Copy Black Dog. Send coordinates, over"
"Coordinates sent. over"
"Big Cheese is en route. Big Momma out."
Sarge switched off the radio. "My superiors are on their way. I estimate arrival within the next ten or so minutes."
"If they are coming by helicopter,"
"By what?" Professor Mariana interrupted
"I'll explain later." Mason replied before continuing. "If they're coming by helicopter, please have them land on the western edge of the forest and walk the remaining distance."
ooc: The academy is on the eastern side
North Mack
01-06-2006, 01:03
Sarge thought a second. "We haven't used helicopters in decades. We use high-speed gunships now. Should they still land in the same place?"
"Same concept, and yes, in the same location." Michael replied
North Mack
01-06-2006, 01:08
Sarge nodded. "Ok then."
"Black Dog to Big Momma."
"Big Momma. What is it? over."
"They say to land on the western edge of the forest and walk the remaining distance, over"
"Copy. Relaying now. Big Cheese is two minutes out. Big Momma out."
Sarge switched off tha radio again.
"They'll do it. They're two minutes from the landing area."
"Good, would you like to come along?" Mason asked, "As I intend to meet them, and they might be a wee bit annoyed if you aren't there as well."
North Mack
01-06-2006, 01:15
Sarge motioned to the other three men and they all followed after Mason
As they walked back out and toward the forest, Michael whistled. A golden furred animal with massively bunched muscles bound out, it's eight legs thudding heavily against the ground as it ran up to Mason. "Hi Vox." He commented as they entered the forest.
"So what do you know about your leaders intention?" He asked the four soldiers.
North Mack
01-06-2006, 01:26
Sarge grunted. "They know nothing" he said, nodding to the three behind him. "And although I technichally haven't been told anything except to arrange a meeting, there are a few rumors going around. There are only two I beleive thought. The first is that our government wants to form an alliance with your people, and the second is that they just want rights to settle without having to worry about being attacked by magic weilding armies."
"Ah." The headmaster replied as they entered the clearing in which the testing had been done. "Seems like he's getting into SorTec." Mason commented to himself as he saw the remains of the construct.
After a little more walking, they arrived at the indicated point of arrival for the visiting officials.
North Mack
01-06-2006, 13:16
After a little more then a minute, a high pitched whining sounded in the distance. A gunship flew into view, then quickly dropped and landed in the clearing. the engines shut off, and three men got out. Two were dressed in the Dress Uniform of the Imperial Army, and one in the uniform of an Admiral.
The three quickly walked to the group waiting.
"Good work sergeant" the leading one said. "If I may introduce us, I am High General Henry Thompson, this is Mid General Jacob Carley, and this is Mid Admiral Steven Fredricho. Pleased to meet you....?"
"Headmaster Michael Mason." He replied, with Vox looking at the gunship with a look of annoyance and hunger on his face.
North Mack
01-06-2006, 18:04
Thompson nodded. "The school must be nearby for you to have reached the landing zone so quickly, but we did not see any trace of it from above."
"It's not intended to be seen by air, at least not unless you're travelling on the right road." Mason replied, as he leaned against the trunk of an oak tree, Vox curling up at his feet.
North Mack
01-06-2006, 21:53
"I assume you used some kind of magic to hide it? We found nothing. Not visually, not with scans, not even with most foot patrols. It's like you didn't exist"
"Something like that, more the land itself keeping hidden." Mason replied, "Thought you'll have to ask a specialist for more information."
North Mack
02-06-2006, 22:18
"The Land Itself? Do you mean that this entire planet can use magic? That the ground itself is aware? Amazing. This planet has shown us more in a week then we have learned in our thousand years of history."
"The vast majority can." He replied, "And yes, the earth is self-aware, to an extent."
North Mack
02-06-2006, 22:42
"Amazing... truly amazing..."
Although Thompson was obviously delighted, Mid General Jacob Carley was less so.
"How long until we reach this school of yours?" he asked, obviously irritated at having to walk.
"Considering we've been going in a spiral," Mason commented as he shifted his direction and they walked maybe thirty meters, "Not long at all."
North Mack
03-06-2006, 17:06
"I am looking foreward to seeing this school of yours. It must be very large." Thompson said.
Carley leaned over and whispered to Fredricho "Leading us in circles, these magic types idea of funny, no doubt"
"It's actually a mid-sized academy." He replied as they stepped into the clearing that surrounded the school.
North Mack
03-06-2006, 18:28
"Amazing..." Thompson said in awe as he looked up at the castle. "WE have nothing like this anymore except in holos"
"Ah, well right this way." He replied as they headed into the academy building, being followed by the eight legged Vox.
North Mack
04-06-2006, 15:13
"This place looks so old. It must have been here for centuries"
"Six hundred and thirty two years next thursday." He replied as he led them into the building and then into the teachers room, a spacious room with many comfortable chairs.
"Please be seated, and would you like anything to drink, alcholic drinks notwithstanding?"
North Mack
04-06-2006, 15:32
"Thank you." Thompson said, as he sat in one of the chairs. The other two officers also sat. The four man recon team, though, remained standing, as the bulky armor they wore would certainly destroy any chair they tried to sit in. "I am fine. Nothing for me." The other officers murmured in agreement with Thompson.
"So, now what is it you'd like to discuss?" He said as he went to the kitchenette and poured himself a drink of somesort.
North Mack
04-06-2006, 15:47
Thompson pulled a few old, paper maps out of his breats posket and handed them to Mason. "We are hoping to be able to setlle a new colony on this planet, not far from here actually. However, we have had problems with the native inhabitants of planets in the past. All we want is our colony to be left alone-"
Kevin hit sarge on the soldier. "Hey sarge! you were right!" Carley turned back and stared at the private. "Um... oops." Kevin went back to attention, staring straight ahead at a wall.
"Anyway, this colony will simply be a reasearch post and housing for the crewsmen. Not too large, minimal landscaping, we just want it to not have to worry about fire raining from the sky and burning it to the ground."
"It that's all you're planning, once you provide a bit more details, I can't see the council having any objections." Mason commented, smiling at the comments of the two soldiers.
North Mack
04-06-2006, 16:06
"Excelent. Although I'm not sure how many more details I can personally provide, as I don't know that much about the details myself. When would we meet this council?"
"You're in luck, they're meeting this weekend. Weather permitting, there shouldn't be any problem getting you there on time." He replied
North Mack
04-06-2006, 16:14
"Excelent! We will be there. If you do not object, I would like to return back to our base so I can familiarise myself with the plans for the colony."
"If you do so, you'll possibly be late as your case will be effectively tossed out the window if you show up in your gunship." He replied, "But, no I don't object at all."
North Mack
04-06-2006, 22:44
"Hmm... if that is the case, maybe I'll just have someone bring the plans here..." Thompson said quietly.
"That might be best." He replied
North Mack
04-06-2006, 22:58
An akward silence filled the room. After about a minute of feet shuffling and wall staring, Sarge stepped foreward. "Well, since no one here will say it, I will. Where will we be staying until the weekend this council meets?"
"You'll be traveling as the council doesn't meet here." He replied
North Mack
04-06-2006, 23:10
Thompson chuckled. "I hope it's not too far. At my age, even the walk here was an epic journey."
"Never fear, it's not going to be by foot power you'd get there, you'll be travelling by the most common conveyance beside foot power, that of carpet travel." Mason replied with a smile.
North Mack
04-06-2006, 23:20
Sarge smiled and nudged kevin. "I guess those cheesy magic Holos weren't too far off..."
Thompson smiled, unhearing. "Well, that is a releif. Is the meeting place far?"
"They're nothing that fancy." Mason commented, "And it's about a day and a half journey."
North Mack
04-06-2006, 23:31
"Very nice. I assume we will be setting off soon if we are to make it in time for the meeting?"
"We, no, you, yes." He replied, "I still have an academy to manage, at least for the next few days till the break. Jane will be departing earlier thought and I'm sure she won't mind taking you to the council."
North Mack
04-06-2006, 23:36
"Ah well, it has been an honor to meet you sir. I hope your school turns out many exlemplary magic... um... people..."
"It does." A voice replied, the soldiers would recognise it, the generals would not. Professor Mariana was leaning against the doorframe.
North Mack
04-06-2006, 23:42
Thompson turned in his chair to see who was in the doorway. "Well, that is good. Im sorry, I do not know your name..."
"My name is Jean Mariana." She replied, "Now shall we see about getting you to your meeting?"
North Mack
04-06-2006, 23:49
Thompson got up from his chair with a great effort. "Ah, my bones don't work like they used to. Well, I suppose we should be heading off. I would hate to be late to the meeting. That would not look too good for us I would think"
"Your right." She replied as she lead them out, hips sashaying, as she lead them down to a underground room with a large number of rolled up carpets.
North Mack
05-06-2006, 19:14
Sarge whisled quietly. "now thats a whole lot of carpets. You could cover a small moon with all those"
"Not that much." She replied as she walked over and rolled one out so it was flat. "Now get on."
North Mack
05-06-2006, 19:45
All seven men looked at teh carpet for a second, then shrugging, walked onto it.
"Sit down, you don't want to go flying off now do you?" She asked as she took a seat at the head of the carpet.
North Mack
05-06-2006, 20:07
The men sat down, the four armored soldiers with some difficulty due to their bulky armor. Everyone finally got settled, if not comfotorable.
Once they were settled, the carpet lifted off about four feet from the ground and began gliding along the ground. None of them were unbalanced and they could remain easily, if not entirely comfortably on the carpet.

06-06-2006, 19:23
"Wow" kevin muttered. "Wait 'till I tell the folks back home about this..."
Sarge leaned over "Who'd believe you?"
Jane simply smiled as she directed the carpet to speed up. Soon it was headed at a decent clip. Turning around, she asked, "Anyone have any questions?"
ooc: Will be gone for a few hours or so.

"I have one" Thompson said. "How long have your people lived on this planet. You have such a mastery over magic, did your people always have control over magic?"
"Yes, at least after the laws and proceedure and theorum were understood." She replied

"So there are laws of magic, like the Laws of Physics... although your magic seems to defy physics..."
"Not sure what the laws of Physics are." She commented, "But they could defy the laws of magick."

"We have Laws of Physics. Things that we have observed are true no matter where in the universe. Things like gravity, momentum, friction, all that technichal stuff. The Laws of Physics also say that you can't have a fire burn without burning things, and you cant summon something from nothing. Things that Magic seems to defy."
"Which would suppose that your laws of Physics are faulty." Jane commented, wondering how they'd take it.

"Our laws of Physics only seem to be faulty on this planet. And I would bet your laws of magic would be faulty on planets other then this one."
"Possibly, but our laws do not claim to be universal." Jane replied, "Yours do."

an IC reason to be there (wherever there is) that would not disrupt the current storyline. I can either arrive by ship from one of mine or use the melodramatic portal. The main point is I don't want to disrupt the current story by my sudden presence.

"Our laws of physics used to be universal. But thanks to this planet, they are not anymore. Thats part of why we want this research station. To find out why physics seems to have taken a holiday here."

OOC:
Sorry it took so long.
IC:
A worm hole opened and a silvery flier shot out of the apeture diving into the atmosphere. The ship flew down and leveled off just above the treetops. It slowed as it approached the school grounds and settled in the courtyard.
The ship hovered motionless a few inched above the grass. A doorway opened and part of the hull melted to form three triangular steps hovering upon their own along the shuttle.
A tall dark haired lady dressed in a travelers cloak stepped out of the doorway and used the steps to descent onto the green grass. The ship closed the door behind her and remained motionless.
Morganna Aarisbane looked around the courtyard taking in the clear sky and the delightful breeze. She took a deep breath and exhaled, enjoying the frresh air.
She looked around to see who would meet her.
"You'll have to take that up with the council." Jane replied as they reached a T-intersection where other carpets were travelling. They turned into the flow of traffic heading left.

OoC: sorry i was gone for so long. my computer crashed and i am lazy so it took me forever to get a new one.

Thompson put his hand to his ear, listening to his earpiece. "Well, it seems like we're not the only ones interested in this planet. Our ship in orbit says that another ship just arrived. Unknown design, which means we have had no contact with them before. It appears to have landed near your school. This is turning out to be an interesting week after all."
