It had been seventy six Terran years since the Trailarii disappeared through their powerful gates, travelling deep into the void of distant and mysterious galaxies, towing massive celestial colonies behind in a chain of uncountable vessels. Seventy six years, and not a single fluxuation from those scarlet constructs of iron and stone.
The Milky Way was oblivious to the parting of that elder race, and equally oblivious to what happened to the once peace-loving Trailarii once they crossed into the darkness of uncharted space and nameless worlds.

They were about to be made painfully aware.

The centers of the nine Trailarii farjump gates suddenly caught aglow without warning. Complex systems that had been silent for seven and a half decades rebooted, analyzing the sudden stream of information that had been fed in from the other side. Codes were verified and telemetry sorted out in a matter of miliseconds, and then the gates truly activated. Blinding crimson light poured from the titanic gates, enough electromagnetic energy spilling from the gates to light up the sensors of anything within the systems they were based in. Post-activation, they stood for a short while, doing little more than crackle with excess energy as the still semi-dormant systems completed all proper calibrations needed for safe jumps.
That was when the Trailarii made their return. Interceptors without number poured from the portals, descending on the planets the Trailarii had once owned and had left to younger races seventy years ago. The swarm let fly the products of Traileric war technology, turning the newly founded cities to wastelands in but a single pass. The primitive peoples of those civilization stood no longer than nine minutes against the greatest assault in Traileric history. As the worlds burned, the Trailarii assembled before their homes of old, beholding the genocide in silence. The Trailarii had always been a peaceful people, working to stop such an atrocity as this. Yet now they burned millions of innocents in firestorms that hungrily gnawed away at the atmosphere. What could possibly ellicit such a change in such short time? One must travel beyond those gates to know.

Archangel Bazriel sat upon his throne aboard the Collossus Bazriel Watching as his four legions pulled back from the world that had birthed him. The atmosphere flickered with a burst of flame occasionally as one or another of the larger craft poured fire onto the helpless residents thereof. His three Patriarchs, who were the true pilots of the craft, murmured to one another as they were being fed important telemetry.
"Your Lordship," Plague, the senior Patriarch whispered, "The remainging mortal population numbers in the thousands, and not a single hoplite had to make landfall, as was the plan."
"Well then continue the withdraw, petty details are not my concern." The Archangel returned. The Patriarch hung it's head, augmenting servos whirring in the neck plates, allowing the helmet to lower properly under the weight of a direct nerve shunt to the primary computer.
The four hive vessels of Bazriels brood encircled the primary craft, destroyers and carriers docking therein and preparing for the Great Assembly of the col,ony vessels which contained the Traileric population. Clouds of interceptors clouded the view of the vessels, giving one the thought of a disturbed bee's nest.
A soft ping sounded in the Archangels HUD interface. A mental command opened the channel, and the upper right corner of the Archangels helmet enveloped the enarmored image of the Archangel Nylathriel.
"What is it Nylathriel, can you not see how busy I am destroying the halls of our fathers?" Bazriel muttered irritably.
"You must hurry, brother, the Nine have declared we accelerate this genocide and gather the Great Assembly as soon as we can. The colony vessels are already gathered around Trailaria Prime..or what's left of it. The planet is breaking up you see, I think the Nine's broods really let go on it. Seven or eight starbusters discharged, if that dosen't attract attention nothing will." Nylathriel seemed ansty, constantly looking at something offscreen.
"Gathered already? Not but three hours ago we only had two of them through the alpha gate! Bah! I'll never be ready in time." Bazriel rested his hooded head against his throne, wondering if the Nine would be overly upset if he was a bit tardy.
"Worry not, few have been told. Inform the other broods."
"Without hesitation, dear brother. Now, attend to your own affairs, I have have legionaires to organize."
Bazriel relayed the warning to his patriarchs, who quickly dispatched a flurry of orders to their subordinates, activity on the primary screen increased exponentially, fighters docking as fast as they could. Bazriel stood from his throne and took a step foreward.
"Plague, you have the helm."
And without another word, the Archangel Bazriel, lord of four broods and member of the highest caste of Traileric society blinked out of existance.

(The power used to transport Traileric colony vessels should be enough to set off radiation warning lights in Canada, which is on the far side of the Milky Way..so..feel free to hop in. Yes, this is relatively the same thread I posted four months ago, with a few revisions. If it dies this time I swear to God I'm going to bludgeon someone)

Trailarii Immortal, apparently a vessel developed during the seventy-six year absence. Very few of these enigmatic ships, mostly in the Nine's personal vanguard.

Collossus, the largest vessel and flag ships of any given brood. They're so pritty.
