Emperor Pedro II requests that 200 Brazilian Humanitarian Force members be allowed to train in Sweden, as Brazil currently has nothing capable of mitigating wars in cold weather. If the Kingdom of Sweden-Norway wishes, Brazil would welcome a like number of soldiers for jungle training, a skill that might perhaps become useful in tropical Africa.

We would allow Brazilian soliders to train with some of our units for fighting in winter weather- however we first request a small sum of money to pay for this. Sweden appricates the offer to also train for Jungle training, however we are unable to offered that right due to the conflict with Denmark. Which cost us and is still costing us quite dearly.

Brazil will be happy to pay this amount (OOC: a reasonable sum, I don't know how much exactly), and the offer of jungle training remains open.

The Swedish Ambassador sends his thanks from King Oscar II.

OCC: Yes, the war is over- The port of Malmo was damaged but it is being repaired. To prevent anymore aggresive from any of its neighbors the Swedish Navy and Army are being Reformed and provided with additional funding.

If the United States Government has any spare- cheap ships for sale, for use in coastal defense, our nation would be interested in buying them (Depending on their cost.) Our funds are limited.

To: His Most Christian Majesty King Oscar II of Sweden
From: King Rama V of Siam

Greetings from Siam. Even though our two nations are divided by the entire world we wish to open Diplomatic ties with Sweden. Firstly even in Siam we have heard of what happened in Denmark, and to open trade between our nations we should like to purchase 75,000 Krag-Petersson rifles from your nation. This shall give Sweden much needed Gold and Siam weapons to fight the ever present Burmesse attacks. We regret the lack of Paper money to pay you in and Even our gold we must save to a point.

In conclusion we offer the following for the Rifles:
3500 Ounces of Gold (10,600 Pounds or $80,500)
5000 Ounces of Silver (1500 Pounds or $12,000)
800 Carrats of Cut Sapphire (Value Unknown but probably around 9,000 Pounds )
Opening of all Siam's ports to Swedish ships.

The Island of Ko Lanta Yai In the Gulf of Siam to the Swedish government for whatever they wish.

If this deal is unacceptable then please contact us and we shall work out another. We hope for the best relation between our two nations.

Signed:
His Majesty Rama V

OOC EDIT: You probably sold yourself short on the Population gained from Denmark, Copenhagen alone had about 1/4 of the population in it's limits. Not to mention Nyholm and Helsinborg.

IC: We would be glad to open trade relations with Siam. We agree to ship the 75,000 Krag-Petersson rifles and accept the payment you listed. That will do as payment. However, we have no wish to claim any Islands or land outside the Baltic due to us adherring to our strict neutrality. You may keep the Island- however, we would still like Swedish/Norweigian ships to be open to all ports in Siam.

OCC: Thanks, I've been looking for the Small Arms in use by Sweden and Norway. I didn't know all them but I found some. Anyway- your probably right about the population thing- however I couldn't find a list of the population of Denmark on a provinance level going all the way back to the 1870s. Closest was the 1900s. So what I did is divided the population in half. Half to me half to Germany. That seem the fairest. Anyway- if you find a link or information on Denmark listing its population- let me know.

We thank Sweden for it's magnanimous and gracious behaviour. This deal is acceptable and we look forward to a bright and long foriegn relation with our most nothern neighbor.

OOC Yeah, population wise that seems about right I couldn't find anything either, but if you go to the main OOC thread page 3 there's a very helpful sight on population, if you haven't used it already.

Oh and about the neutrality thing you do have a colony.

OCC: Thats what I have been using for the population numbers.. As for the colony- not for much longer. In 1878 it goes bye-bye. Isn't neutrality grand?

With the commisioning of the first of the ships bought from the United Kingdom, funds that were being used to pay for the ships are being redirected to fund the expanding Army of Sweden now that the ships have been paid for.

The expansion of the Army is expected to be completed around the same time as the last of the new ships are taken into service, in or around the year of our Lord, 1881-1882.
