Avarus Polleo Holds Grand Prix (FT, Character RP, OOC / Sign-up Thread)

This will be a very open character RP built around a FT motorsports event. Avarus Polleo is the single largest company in Kazecistan and makes luxury / performance craft. There isn't a set storyline, really, anything can happen, but AP will have a set tournament schedule as a basis / background for the RP. Winning isn't particularly important (oocly anyway), this is a character RP. All are welcome, please post character profiles here. As usual, basic literacy and attempts to keep up with all your characters are expected.

ooc: Is it a free-for-all/no-holds barred race?
Also what, if any, rules are there for vehicles?
Also am interested, and do you want the pilots/mechanics/any sponsors?

Any character can be there for any reason, the races can be the focus or just a backdrop (or both), it's a free for all.
The races are STL, and to avoid everyone just going .999 C in a straight line, the courses require agility through their curves and obstacles. AP has never done this before, so they're unprepared for and unsuspecting of any foul play, but such is not off limits.
Requirements for the vehicles are as follows:
Vehicles must have either one or two pilots, AIs are not allowed unless they take the form of an android or similar.
Land races require a less than 10 cm distance from the ground at all times
Air races must be limited by atmosphere, no 'air-splitting' devices that create a void ahead of the craft with no friction loss.
Space race vehicles may not exceed 'personal craft' dimensions. (keep them small)
Mark
Male
Driver of the Shadow(Land)
5' 8", lightly tanned skin, short sandy brown hair
Jerrad
Male
Pilot of the Hellscream(Atmospheric)
5' 10", dark skin, short dark hair
Mari
Female
Pilot of the Vulcan(Space)
5' 7", nearly translucent skin, short blue hair
Irio
Male
Chief Mechanic
5' 2", ruddy skin, shaggy brown hair
Also do you mean that the land vehicles can not get more than 10cm from the ground?

Right, the bottom of the craft needs to be close to the ground in order for it to really be a land race, rather than an air one. If you've got wheels your ground distance is zero. No worries, the ground will be paved.

I am interested (tag for possible participation), but before I join, I would like to ask a few questions:
1. I understand there will be three different races Space race, Air race, and Land race. The question is, is it possible to sign for just one or two races, or do I need to sign for all three? (I already have two characters in mind, but creating six characters on a short notice won’t be easy, not to mention that role-playing them simultaneously will be virtually impossible for me)
2. Are races going to be role-played one after another or simultaneously? (As I mentioned before, I wouldn’t like end having to role-play six, or even four characters simultaneously)
3. Approximately how much Real Life time I have before races start? (I would like to have at least a day to develop characters and prepare introduction post)

Well, there is no real need to answer my questions anymore, as I have…
1. Re-read your posts more carefully and realized that it is in fact one or two operatives per vehicle.
2. Decided on the three characters who will drive/pilot their respective vehicles anyway.
3. Partially (about one-third) written my introduction post anyway, so I should be able to post it either later today, or tomorrow.
And so, here is…
Jurai Empire’s Team:
Baiko (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Baiko)
Female
Driver of Aoi Hoshi (Blue Star) sporting bike; land race
Sagami (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Sagami)
Male
Pilot of Kiiroi Senkou (Yellow Flash) sporting airplane; air race
Tamasaburo (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Tamasaburo)
Female
Pilot of Akai Raikou (Red Lightning) sporting spaceship; space race
Note I: all Jurai’s vehicles are sporting, as Jurai doesn’t really expect a foul play (Juraian driver and pilots themselves are completely different matter, though; all of them seen their share of foul play on such events, and if it happens here it won’t be a great surprise for any of them). However, since Juraian vessels are made of Juraian Ironwood (a very strong material that Jurai uses for all its vehicles, including Jurai Battleships) they are much tougher then one is likely to expect from sporting vehicles of their class, and airplane and spaceship are equipped with moderately weak shields too.
Note II: while Jurai will naturally (especially considering that Juraian technology is pretty unusual) bring along a repair/maintenance team of their own, I currently don’t intend to give any of mechanics a significant amount of detailing (role-playing three major characters is more then enough for me). However, this may change as the game progresses.

I'll answer anyway, for clarity.
Create any number of character with any reason to be there, (a single mechanic, a whole team, small band, observer, whatever.)
The races will be held one after another with a few RP days between. There may be multiple in each category if they turn out well. The only simultaneous RPing will be between those not racing (it's a big planet, could be several here) and those racing.
How much RL time between/before? IDK, whenever we've got enough players. (~3 days tops) (I don't think I'll close the doors ever, but if it gets crowded I will.)
