White Star Six, the sixth ship built in the White Star frigate line, obviously, cruised through a Minbari fringe system, surveying planets and searching for any...anomalies. This system had almost nothing in it, compared to the Minbar system. Four planets orbiting around a medium-sized star similar to Sol, and an asteroid field in between the fourth and third planets. It was twentyfive light years away from Minbar, and had been deemed worthless for most military expeditions. However, because other planets in the Federation were becoming densely crowded, this system was chosen for new colonial developments. White Star Six entered the asteroid field with guns blazing, vaporizing asteroids that cruised too close to the frigate.

The 49 Minbari crewmembers were alert and aware as the White Star cruised through the asteroid field, and the sensors didn't pick up anything unusual, just some abnormally large asteroids in the centre of the field, but this was no cause for suspicion among the crew. After all, asteroids were nothing new to them. Little did they know..

Base Star 13: The Galactic Imperium Forward Battle Station

A cyborg, a man and machine meld, looked up from the console he was sat at, its sensors had picked up a small fleet on the outskirts of the Asteroid field that the Base Star was currently hidden in, the Base Star was a very large battle station, capable of defending itself from space fleets, while also being capable of supporting an escort fleet and a contingent of Fighters, interceptors and long range scout craft as well as bombers and Imperial Landers..

The Cyborgs voice was very robotic, its entire voice synthesized through a vox caster...

"Commander, Sensor sweeps detect an unknown fleet in Sector 7 - G.."

"Monitor it, Forwards?"

"Yes Commander", two young officers, each in the Jet black uniforms of The Galactic Imperium, devout worshippers of Kraven, awaited their orders...

"Dispatch two of the Devestator Class Destroyers"

"As you wish" The two snapped to attention...

"Servitor, ensure that the unknown fleet is monitored, inform me if they come any closer"

"By Your Command"

"Alyt, we are detecting an anomaly in the centre of the belt, it's far larger than any of the other asteroids and we are detecting faint life signs, we must get closer to investigate further."

"Move in.."

The White Star class pulled in closer, it was within a figurative hair of the unknown station, it was less than 50,000km away. It transmitted a message on all known frequencies and languages, saying simply, "Who are you?" Weapons were armed, although gunports had not been opened yet. The vaunted Minbari stealth device was on, so it was highly unlikely that the unknowns could get a solid sensor lock on the little White Star. As they cruised closer, the sensors came back with a detailed scan of the ship. It was 1.7 kilometers long, slightly larger than the Sharlin class, the mainstay of the Minbari fleet. It had numerous guns and other weaponry and appeared to carry fighters and smaller vessels.

This was a standard first contact for the Minbari, but first contacts had gotten the Minbari into conflicts in the past..

The Base Star had dispatched two, Devestator Class Destroyers, they moved slowly through the asteroid field, while their forward facing shields, kept the vessel safe from the devestating effects from a direct asteroid smash...

The two Destroyers flanked the Nimbari vessel, comming to face it on either flank, while no sign was made that they were hostile, no contact was made as of yet...

"Alyt, there are two vessels flanking us, about the size of a Sharlin." the comm officer said calmly, not betraying his fear of this situation.

"Retransmit our message and get us on the opposite side of them, I don't want to be surrounded."

"Yes, Alyt."

The White Star class moved underneath the right-most Destroyer, coming up on the right side, putting it only in range of fire of one of the destroyers, putting it in a far better position for combat. It retransmitted the message again, but it was gaining distance steadily, with weapons and deflectors still armed..
