The Horde Of Doom
23-05-2006, 22:46
The Klaatu system was a quiet system, with only one inhabitated world, called Euroika. Euroika was a nice 3rd planet from the sun, whose inhabitants were not...advanced. A descended from a lost human colony, they had about "1895-esque" technology and hadn't had a war in 30 years.
All this was about to change.
Portals were being opened on Euroika's one moon, Palvo, that would send forth a Horde of evil....
The green portals spat out war machine after war machine, (http://forums.eveofthewar.com/photos/albums/userpics/10001/fightmachine2.JPG) clustering together. After a full 1 million of them now populated the moon, they began to build. By mining away at the surface the war machines began to gather raw materials.
But what, what were these machines doing?
3 Months Later....
Large guns had been built all over the moon, each facing the peaceful planet of Euroika. The war machines loaded themselves into the large cannons and fired themselves onto the planet.
Their construction denied the chance of destruction, and they landed in a configuration that would lodge them into the ground. After recollecting themselves, the crew inside the war machines would ready their machines and unleash general hell. Gamma Guns let loose billions of joules upon the unsespecting planet. The inhabitants were now being scattered to the wind, unable to fight back.
Would any alien power answer their cries for help?

The USTS Willard, a Freedom Class destroyer was out and about. The United States of Trekys had recently ordered that all idle ships be sent out into surronding galaxies and search for other forms of life to trade with. The Willard was doing routine scans, when it detected something a few systems away.
"Yes sir, I double checked it, it seems that in the Klaatu system, an unknown world is being attacked by its moon." said the science officer, LT John Fran.
"Hrmm... Ensign, hail TSC (Trekys Space Command), and let them know where we are heading... Also, request 3 Utopia Cruisers and another destroyer to head for the Klaatu system as well." ordered Captian James Issac
"Aye sir, requesting backup at new location." said Ensign Will Johnson.
"Helm, set a course for the Klaatu System." ordered the Captian.
"Aye sir, course punched in, preparing to jump into hyperspace." said the Helmsman.
"Ensign, also send a transmission ahead of us, to inform them that we are on our way to help in anyway we can ((we don't know what tech you use yet))." ordered the Captian.
"Aye sir, sending transmission." said the Ensign.
"Jumping to Hyperspace..." said the LT at Helm.
This is the USTS Willard, a Freedom Class Destroyer, we are en route to your system to provide any assitance you may need.
With that, the Willard disappeared in a blinding bluish, white light.

Murgerspherian General Bindo Goomblad was doing a routine recon mission of the Klattu system. He smiled down at a picture of his wife and kid as he drank his 2nd instant powdered coffe. He put down the picture and made his way to the bridge.
Once on the bridge his crew welcomed him."Morning General"ensign Dowsky said. The general returned the welcome and went immeadiantly to buisness."Any activity at all"the General said."No sir"the ensign replied. At that moment a light flashed at one of the tech officers stations."Look Sir"The tech officer said pointing to his screen. The General walked over to the screen and saw a planet. It seemed normal enough until he saw the moon.It was a mass of metal and guns pointing toward the planet.'"Were also picking up a transmission that was sent to the planet".Dowsky said.He tapped a button and a transmission appeared on the main brideg screen reading
This is UTS Willard,a Freedom Class Destroyer,we are en route to your system to provide any assistance you need.
The General thought for a moment and said"how far are we from the planet?"
"140 light years away sir."Dowsky said.Bindo nodded and said, set a course for the planet. Also send 3 transmissions.1 to the planet telling them of our aid.Another goes to our planet telling them to send reinforcements to a rendouvous point on this small moon just outside the Klattu system.Lastly, send one to this ship going to there aid and tell them to meet us at the rendouvou point at the same small moon."Yes General.Dowsky said."I'll get on it immediantly.""Set a course to the small moon outside of the Klattu system."Course set"a tech officer said."Then set hyperdrive engines at 70 percent power and launch,"The General said.At that the ship launched off at speeds so fast it left a swirlling wormhole in the space it had been.
The Horde Of Doom
24-05-2006, 04:47
The messages of help were useless to the besieged planet, it's inhabitants unaware of even the radio. However....the Horde picked it up.
The language was unknown and those crews still on the moon couldn't understand it. The Horde was comprised of mainly raiders, and in this war band, no translator could be found. The message was sent to the "homeland" and was to be diciphered there.
Meanwhile, the planet bled. 300,000 war machines were now on the surface, conquering and wiping out those who stoof in their way. Gamma Guns fried any thing, and a strange black gas was fired into large crowds to kill even more quickly. It was no war, but more of an extinction, a active pursuit to wipe a race off the timescale. In short: Xenocide.
The Horde had already began building in some areas, the organic material of the harvested humans acting as a energy source, and terra forming had began. Desolate areas with strange acidic pools appeared to be preferred by the invaders, why however was unknown.
Among all this, no space ship had been used. The Horde seemed unknowing of anything but land warfare, and seemed to excel at it.
The USTS Willard exited Hyperspace only to witness a burning world, and a moon with odd weapons on it. The ships the Captian had requested had already arrived, most ofthem being close by, monitoring other systems.
"Captian, the other ships are here sir, Captian Willis of the USTS Ben, another destroyer, is requesting to speak with you sir." said the Ensign
"Very well, put him though..." said Captian Issac, "Hello Willis, you guys seem to have been here longer then us, what can you tell me?"
"Well James, it seems the moon is attacking the planet, strange I know but the inhaitants of the moon are different then those on the planet..." said Willis, "But, James, it gets worse..."
"I don't see how it can get worse Willies..." said James.
"It can ALWAYS get worse James, it seems that the people of this world do not have radios, nor any other way to communicate with us, we're gonna have to try and get as close to a pocket of their citizens as possible with our marines and talk with them" said Willis.
"Agreed, prepare your marines Willis, and get the other ships to do it too... Also, launch your fighters, I have an idea." said the Captian.
"Okay James, also James, TSC wanted me to let you know that they have promoted you to acting Admiral, they said your long range communications must have been out. Congrautlaions sir." said Captian Willis.
"Thanks Willis, now lets get to work." said the now Admiral James Issac.
--Outside the Trekys Fleet--
From all Five ships, 2 Destroyers and 3 Cruisers, Troop carriers began to launch and head for the surface, to a large pocket of humans. In all, 25 Troop Carriers, carrying 25 troops (625 troops) each were heading for the surface, with more to launch in the coming hours. With them, 100 fighters swarmed out, heading for the moon.
--USTS Fighter Squadron--
"Alright guys, listen up. The Admiral has given us direct orders to try and knock out as many of the enemy guns as possible, while they try to initiate first contact with the denzions of this planet... Unlock all safties and prepare to choose your targets." said Private Greg Wilson.
100 Fighters then turned and began for the Moon. They will be there within the hour, and then the fighting could commence.
--Planets Surface--
Five of the Twenty-Five troop transports landed near the humans of this world. The others would circle above, to try and find an area to setup base camp. As that happened, the 125 Marines made for the group of humans they found, hoping that they will know where the leaders of this planet are...
"Excuse me, I am Sgt. Will Terry, of the United States of Trekys Marine Corp. We are not here to harm you, we come in peace and offer our aid to you in your moment of weakness..." began Sgt Terry, "I would like to know where your leaders are, so we may begin to fomulate a defense of your planet."
The other Marines began to take up defensive positions, incase any enemy contacts were seen. If any were, they would be engaged on contact.
The Horde Of Doom

Surface
The Men From Space were at first feared. But, after it was clear that they meant no harm, the humans slowly came out. A man with a monocle and a top hat crept forth. "I am Mayor Torkin, and I am the only shred of authority we have now! Those blasted....machines...they've ruined us! Killed so many! Their weapons burn, and kill even those withen the area around them!"
The man began to sob. "We have nothing left...nothing. And to think...it was our own moon that did this to us. You! Your from the heavens! What have we done to deserve this? WHAT HAVE WE DONE!" By this time, the man was hysterical.
Elseware on the planet, it seemed the war was all but over. 86% of all land was uninhabitable thanks to the Gamma Guns of the Horde. Humans were now being rounded up, their very cellular matter driving the machines forward. It did not go undetected that a new presence was on the planet. And this would not stand.
40 War Machines moved on the Human encampment, firing rockets of poision gas into the crowd at least a mile away. After the area was nearly pitch black with gas, they moved forward, firing Gamma Rays of unspeakable strength into the humans. No mere lead shield could stop the radiation, enough to match that of a star!
Moon Surface
The fighters were detected, and would be met with force. Defense Cannons, smaller but faster guns then the Launch Cannons, had been built all over the moon, and fired warning shots in front of the planes. A transmission was sent to the pilots, the Horde unaware if they would understand. The unnatural noises were sent to the pilots directly.
Wrahhhh Scrrrrereeeee Blurrrt!
"Ahhh!! Watch your six john, turn turn turn.... fire men, open fire!!" screamed Terry, "Put on your gas masks, take out nightvision googles... move move move!!!"
It was not a pretty sight... Forty War Machines came out of nowhere and started lobbing gas into the area, 20 soliders are missing, Terry not knowing where they went. 105 Men remained, but he didn't know their positions, he just knew that they were dying...
"This is Private Will Wright calling from Trekys base camp, one of the Troop Transports reported seeing your area black out, are you okay sir?" said Private Wright, over the radio.
"Thank God, Will call in a bombing run from one of the ships in orbit, right on our position... Will, get the men ready at camp, you may have company..." said Terry, as a giant War Machine bellowed into his sight, through the smoke, "Dear God, ANYONE HERE, OPEN FIRE!!!"
With that, 6 Men opened up on the machine. Guns going off all around Terry, and then he heard a swoosh sound, and saw a missile heading straight for the machine.
--Near the surface of the Moon--
"What the hell! Men, evasive maneuvers, prepare to fire missiles![/i']" said Private Greg Wilson.
"Sir, i'm getting a strange message, it seems to be coming from the moo..." started another fighter, when suddenly the message was heard on all fighters...
Wrahhhh Scrrrrereeeee Blurrrt!
"I don't know what the HELL these things are, but we have a job to do damnit!" screamed Private Greg Wilson into his radio.
With that, the Fighters continued for the Moon, when they were close enough, they let loose as many missiles as they could, 100 in the first pass, hopefully a 100 more on the second pass, that is if none are destroyed.
--USTS Willard--
"Sir, our ground forces are requesting a bombing run on 63 Degrees 42 minutes, 29 Degrees 15 minutes on the Planets surface." said the Comm Officer.
"Get the Bombers ready Ensign..." said the Admiral, "Also, tell Willis to request more ships from TSC, seems we may have under estimated the enemy... Request two Invasion Class Super-Carriers ((JUst really big troop transports)), Three Carriers and two more Cruisers, we may need to bombard the Moon."
"Aye sir, radioing the flight decks on all ships and preping bombers... Captian Willis reports he has recieved orders and is contacting TSC..." said the Ensigh, "The ships should be here in about 14 hours sir."
"Lets hope we can hold the planet for that long, keep landing Marines!" said the Admiral.
--Near Trekys Fleet--
Twenty Bombers poured out of all the flight decks of all the ships, and made their way to the surface. They would be there in an hour and begin to drop their payload on the enemy, which most of the space fleet has yet to see.
--Trekys Planetary Base Camp--
"Private, another 150 Troops have landed on the surface, that brings our total troop amount to 1200 sir... Will you grant an OK on my request to take 50 men and reinforce the Captian?" asked Private Jason Wilson.
"Go ahead, take the 50 and reinforce the Sgt, hopefully a General will be landing soon, cause I hate contro..." started the Private.
"Who's in charge here?" asked General Iams Angrisani.
"Sgt. Terry put me in command General, are you here to assume command?" asked the Private.
"Yes I am son, I want you to take 250 Men and track down the Sgt, reinforce him, and then extract them." ordered the General.
"Aye sir, Jason, grab another 200 Men and meet me by the south point, we move out in an 15 Minutes on foot, no need for the trucks." said the Private.
"Aye, going to grab more soldiers..." said Jason.
--15 Minutes Later--
"Lets hope the Sgt is still alive, move out men!" screamed the Private.
The Horde Of Doom
26-05-2006, 00:37
Planet SurfaceThe bombers ripped through the war machines, sending red hot pieces of unknown metal into the crowd. The huge machines fell onto soldier and citizen alike, crushing thoughs they had not already killed.
Refusing to allow the humans a foothold on the planet 3 Launch Cannons fired on the precise location of the Human base camp. 3 fully collapsed War Machines slammed into the camp with the effect of 3 medium sized meteors.
Elsewhere the planet appeared to be firmly under Alien control. The Human population was only 10% of what it once was, and the radioactive world seemed to lay firmly in the Hands of the Horde. Almost ignoring the fact that a battle was raging elsewhere, they began to harvest whatever they could. Humans were captured and drained; water was being sucked up and put into strange vesicles; The ground was being ripped up in search of any mineral; and it began to appear as if the very ozone layer was being ripped away.
Moon Surface
Gamma Guns and Defense Cannons alike fired upon their flying foes, taking down what seemed a fair share of them. Still, the missles did their job, destroying many Launch Cannons. It must have been amazing to be on Euroika that moment, watching explosions rip apart pieces of your moon before your very eyes.
A second shimmering portal now opened on the dark side of the moon, spilling about 1 million more War Machines. The War Machines began to dig into the surface of the planet, rather then help their comrades. With all their might they began to construct, as quickly as possible, a new underground chamber on the moon.
--On board the USTS Willard--
"Sir, we've lost any and all communications with the base camp, bombers are not responding and the fighters near the moon are reporting 45 Fighters have been destroyed!" said the Communications Officer.
"My God..." said the Admiral, "Wait, theres one last thing we can try before the reinforcements arrive, how much longer?"
"A few more hours sir... might I ask what else we can do?" asked the Communications Officer.
"Order the fighters to move away from the Moon... LT, I want you to arm two of the Nukes we have on board, target the two most densly packed regions on the Moon, and fire when I say so." ordered the Admiral.
"Aye sir, preping nukes... Targeting the two points on the Moon closest to us." said the Tactical Officer.
"Ensign, keep trying to hail any marines on the surface, some HAD to of survived." said the Admiral.
"Aye sir, hailing the planet..." said the Ensign.
--Fighters Squads, near the surface of the Moon--
"Alright boys, we've been ordered away from the Moon, lets make like we're preparing to land on the planet, maybe they'll track us instead of the surprises." ordered Greg.
What was left of the Fighters began to head for the Planets surface, particularly the last known positions of the Base Camp. Five more were destroyed while breaking their fighting positions, many more would likely be destroyed before they reached the planet.
--Planet's Surface--
"Damn it, I can't reach base camp on this thing, can anyone?" asked Jason.
"Nope, I can't... I wonder what happened..." asked a soldier.
"I don't know, but lets keep on moving men. We have to find the Sgt." ordered the Private.
"Sir, I'm getting a weak signal from the space fleet, I think I can clear it up." said the Communications Soldier.
"Yea son, try to..." started the Private, before he was cut off.
"ENEMY CONTACTS, turn to your left men!" screamed Jason.
All the Marines, all 250 of them looked at the forest that was to their left, about 1500 yards off... They could see something moving, but was it the enemy... ((I would like it to be lol))
--On board the USTS Willard--
"Sir, the two nukes are ready, and the targets are locked... shall I fire?" asked the Tactical Officer.
"Are the Fighters clear Ensign?" asked the Admiral.
"Aye sir, the Fighters are cleared." said the Ensign.
"Then son, send these bastard machines our welcome basket." said the Admiral.
With that, two Tactical Nukes bellowed out of the Forward Missiles tubes of the USTS Willard, and made a bea line for the Moon. One was heading close to the first portal, while the second was heading towards a dense part of war machiens and cannons, however, the Willard was unaware of what was happening on the darkside of the Moon.
The Horde Of Doom

Planet Surface
The War Machines unfolded, it's crew checking all sections for damage. One of the three turned quickly and saw the many humans scattered before it. The pilot inside smiled, and fired his Gamma Gun into the center. Just by being near the gun, many of the men wouldn't survive, and those in it's direct line became radioactive goo piles.
The other 2 machines, now up and running, fired more of the Black Gas that had been used elsewhere into the soldiers.
Moon Surface
The guns foolishly followed the fighters, believing them to be retreating. Then...it happeaned.
The nuclear weapons blew apart large sections of the already battle scarred moons, huge fragments actually falling away onto the planet. Nearly all forces on the lighted side were destroyed. The lack of an atmosphere sucked the radiation out.
The dark side of the moon continued to build, to mine, and to construct. Like ants they worked, two more portals opening on the dark side, spilling forth 2 million more. Guns were already beginning to take shgape, as were huge defense structures. The Machines dug deeper and deeper, entrenching themselves into the moon.
--On board the USTS Willard--
"Get our last nuke prepared, and send it into the middle of the f***ing Moon, blow them to pieces LT!" ordered the Admiral, in a sort of scream.
"Aye sir, targeting... preparing Nuke." said the LT.
--Planet's Surface, Base Camp--
"Be hind you, fire, FIR..." started a soldier, before he disappeared in a brillant blue light.
"Oh My God, over there, fire the missiles!" ordered the General.
Every marine with a rocket launcher opened up on the War Machines, totaling 35 rockets. The base had already sustained heavy loses, with the initial count at 35% killed in the initial impact and another 25% killed in the past 30 minutes.
--Search and rescue Marine Group--
"Sorry sir, I thought it was the Enemy..." said Jason.
"Its okay Jason, lets just keep goi..." started the Private, before he was interrupted.
"Sir, i'm picking up chatter... Sgt Terry is dead sir... Seems that when the Bombers let losse, they killed our own guys too... about 15 Marines should be about 15 klicks in front of us." said a soldier.
"Then lets hurry up... Oh, you, what was the transmission from the fleet about?" asked the Private.
"Oh, Sorry sir... um.... apparently... SH!T, Base Camp is under attack sir..." screamed the solider, a bit surprised.
"Oh My F***ing God... Alright, Jason, take 100 marines back with you, and try to help out the general." ordered the Private.
"Aye sir, c'mon lets go guys." yelled Jason.
--20 Minutes later--
Jason and 100 Marines started back for Base Camp, hopefully they will get there in time to be of help, while the Private and his 150 or so men continued on for the other Marines, hopefully they'll meet up with them and then continue on and look for survivors.
[b]--On board the USTS Willard--
"Sir, nuke is preped, and target is locked... firing nuke." said the Tactical Officer.
The Tactical Nuke was then fired at the Moon, the LT was watching it from his display, hoping that this will hit and do even more damage.
"Good job LT... Ensign, contact the reinforcements, tell them to push those hyperdrive engines, we need them here ASAP." ordered the Admiral.
"Aye sir... sir, Captian Willis is requesting orders, shall he fire any of his nukes?" asked the Ensign.
"Negative, tell him to hold his fire, we may need his nukes for cleanup, as well as the other cruisers." ordered the Admiral.
"Aye sir, contacting the Captian." said the Ensign.

Planet Surface
The rockets tore through the machines, who lacked any shields. The sound of gun fire attracted more of the machines, now heading for the humans. A new, much larger War Machine now faced the humans. Standing nearly 100 feet tall, and with four guns, it was a sight to behold. Only one "Titan machine" lead a each pack of the Horde, and this one had deemed it neccessary to take part in the invasion.
He fired all of his guns, but not in any regular way. He fired them in a beam, using it to ensure the destruction of every human it neared.
Elsewhere the War Machines were now on full alert and had begun to hunt down the "search and rescue" group. It was only a matter of time.
Moon Surface
The nuke left the lighted side in mere bits, the core of the moon now visable in some areas. The dark side had survived, and the progress continued...
"Sir a planet is under attack.... from its own moon!"
"Whats the tech level of the planet's inhabitants?"
"very primative. even more so than that one nation that got it self into a war with a nation with ships that have bigger armies than there entire population."
"wow i thought that was as low as it gets."
"the attackers are large machines that have lasers."
"well then have a massive force of B-2 battle droids sent to the surface as well as a large force of clone troopers, and about 100 AT-ATs. send the 7th fleet."
..."very primative. even more so than that one nation that got it self into a war with a nation with ships that have bigger armies than there entire population."...
OOC: Who's that referring to? Haha. I'm gonna post when i'm more awake, was just dumbfounded by that.

Flotte-admiral Schuldorf lay back in his chair, reading a dossier. It was another case of primitive attacked by modern, and the rest of the Galaxy jumps in to "uphold justice and freedom!". Damn hippies.
"Jump ending admiral going to realspace now."
"Confirmed."
The fleet tore back into realspace, trailed by a division transport, and did a thorough scan of surroundings.

Enough was enough. It was time to intervene.
From between the Moon and it's Planet, a massive wormhole tore through the fabric of space, and from it came one hundred fifty-mile-long cylindrical Colonies.
Each Colony housed nearly one hundred million troops, vehicles, and star ships, and the colonies themselves were covered from end to end with long-range mega particle cannons.
The lead Colony, however, was one massive gun, with a barrel width of nearly four miles. It immediately sent out a transmission to the defending fleet.
"Stand aside. Your forces are not large enough to combat this foe."
From the rest of the Colonies, thousands of Argama-class battle ships, Columbus II-class multi-role transports, and Den'an, Berga, and Vigna series mobile suits poured forth from the massive docks of the Colonies. The mobile suits streamed forth past the miniscule Trekys fleet, creating a massive blanket that even radars could not calculate. To anyone, it would seem like a giant hand had suddenly engulfed the space around the moon in its grasp.
As soon as the mobile suits had reached firing range, they began their assault waves, ducking, weaving, dodging, and rolling through debris, firing at every mechanical object on the surface of the moon, using their extreme speeds to out-maneuver any shots fired.
The ships, however, began making their decent into the planet's atmosphere, the Argamas bombarding anything hostile to the planet's natives with mega particle cannons, missiles, and beam machinegun fire. The Columbus IIs began landing in large expanses capable of supporting them. As soon as they were landed, tanks, powered armors, Destroids, and APCs began unloading. The tops of the Columbus IIs began launching VTOLs into the air, which spanned out and began hunting any and all hostile units.
((I know my NS population on the actual game doesn't seem like it could do this, but I don't use that as the basis of my military. I use an RP population due to my nation being a Galactic Republic. I have hundreds of TRILLIONS of people in my galaxy.))

(You do realize that such an attack will:
1. Leave nothing, and I mean nothing on the planet. Life will no longer exist there.
2. The moon itself will de destroyed, raining huge pieces onto the planet. The ocean tide will rise significantly and the now inhospitable landscape will resemble that of earth's moon.
So in effect, you are "liberating" a already dead world in exchange for...killing everything?)

OOC: Ok then.
The moon was the first to be hit, and quite simply, shattered. Almost instantly the pieces began to fall to Euroika, destroying many of the Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh ships as they went. By now, no humans remained alive. By now, only 1% of the original invasion force was alive. This would have been enough of a loss.
And yet, overkill appeared to be the order of the day.
Copenhaghenkoffenlaugh weapons were loosed upon the planet itself, ejecting huge parts of the crust into space. The crust it self seemed to crack and divide in many regions, the mantel pouring over like a lava stream. The sea, now much more extended due to the loss of the moon, collided with the mantel, pushing forth ungodly amounts of steam into the air.
The majority of oceans were now salt deposits, as nearl 90% of the planets water supply was in the atmosphere. The devestating wind effect caused by the weapons forced these new rain heavy clouds into whirlwinds, creating twisters 2 miles thick and nearly tall enough to reach into space. Effected by the radiation given off by the weapons, when the clouds finally burst with rain, they showered a pollutant so vile and acidic, whereever it landed melted the crust away. The entire world was being reshaped alone by the rain, not to mention the weapons and wind.
In nearly 1 hour, all evidence that life had ever existed here was gone, replaced by an ugly, unnaturally polluted, and primordially dead world. Not even micro bacteria still existed, the planet completly sterile of all life.

What had taken place was not exactly what the Copen forces had had in mind, but it would have to do.
Those Copen forces that were still near the moon evacuated the area immediately. They were soon followed by eighty five percent of the planetary invasion forces. The other fifteen percent that hadn't made it was either stuck on the planet, or dead due to the mass destruction of the planet.
Colonel James, commander of the force, shook his head.
"The bastards who invaded caused too much damage before we could even get here," he said. "I'm initiating protocol G-3: eliminate all evidence that anything had existed here in the first place. Although it's not the best outcome, the total annihalation of this planet has prevented this new threat to the Milky Way from establishing a foothold within its boundaries."
Colonel James turned his chair towards fire control.
"Activate the Colony Laser and prepare to fire on my mark," ordered James.
He then swiveled towards the comm station.
"Tell the fleet to pack up. We're leaving this sector in five minutes. Open the Wormhole."
Both stations confirmed their orders, and began to work.
Within minutes, the entire Copen fleet had docked back with the Colonies, ready to go. On the fourth minute, the Wormhole opened, and the Colonies began piling into it.
The final Colony, the Colony Laser, did not do as its brethren did. It slowly moved backwards towards the Wormhole, keeping its aim on the planet in front of it.
"Thirty seconds, Colonel," said the tactical officer.
"Fire the laser."
On that order, the massive gun fired into the most exposed part of the mantle, aiming to penetrate the planet's core and annihalate the former habitable world.
On the tenth to the last second, the Colony had reached the Wormhole and was slipping inside just as the Laser hit the mantle. The eighth second passed as the Laser penetrated the mantle and plowed through the outter core into the inner core. On the fifth second, the planet itself was beginning to crack as the force of the Laser caused the core of the planet to overload. The second second saw the planet exploding outwards with the Wormhole nearly sealed.
The final second, the explosion rushed in on the Wormhole just as it sealed itself entirely.
The explosion itself would obliterate the planet, leaving only rock and indescernable slag. The impending shockwave would leave the entire moon nothing more than a cluster of asteroids.
And in a single, fell swoop, an entire planet that once was the home of a peaceful people was no more than a memory to those who knew it before.

Bye all. Just got back from camp, but I afraid I don't rp with population modifiers without a brilliant excuse.
