Sector 2.00.813 Milky Way

Beep, beep, beep…..

The dark lifeless void that was space was filled with noises of communication probes and, ships.

The screen panned from one of the probes to look at a massive grey armada of construction ships, the huge array of ships worked busily, there small – huge bodies shimmering in the dim little light the near by red dwarf was emitting there grey gleaming hulls reflecting red lighting.

The entire fleet of ships was working on one humongous project a massive 25 Km wide 10 km high, 20 Km long star fortress, this huge monstrosity was taking shape in the hive of working vessels, local and mobile replication facilities were set up around the system, as the probe camera panned around the lifeless area.

A middle aged toned skin medium build tall person sat in a rather large chair over looking the probe monitor his brown hair gleaming in the light, and blue eyes panning the local monitors his name was, Barney Calhoun , he had his ear open listing to beeping transmissions and communications, his toned rough hand move slightly over the shining gleaming reflective metal desk he was sitting at the ominous twilight like lighting from the monitors panning over his blue and grey uniform. His body tightened and relaxed several times as be breathed in and out, suddenly a communications from a construction pod was incoming...

-Entrance static-
Psssht--- security station 2 alpha confirm supply ships and defensive ships incoming..
--- Psssht
Wit ha quick fluid motion Calhoun punched down a button fighting his body and moving up to the desk, he responded in a Boston accent like voice, words running smoothly from his lips.
Psssht---
Uhh well I don’t see any thing out on sensors or probes….. suddenly he was interrupted as the sensors detected incoming ships and supply vessels.. he was pausing for a moment… the inter dimensional radio lay quiet until the other voice came on again, psssht--- what ? are you there god damn it Calhoun I m not in the mood for these games, either they are here or not…

Calhoun responded and started speaking again quickly psssht – scratch what I said last I’m detecting incoming ships, I’m giving them security clearance now.. the other voice angrily replied psssht--- About damned time Calhoun, get your ass to work..—

Calhoun grumbled a bit punching another holographic button

Psssht—Task force alpha 32 you have Clarence to enter zone blue 2, be aware of route constrictions because of construction and supply running, thank you..

Calhoun laid back his breathing and body relaxing as he panned his eyes over the monitor, he detested rude people, even more so his job at some points, but it had to be done.

Mean while the large fleet of mainly civilian ships crawled through the system going one way towards the construction city, thousands upon thousands of worker bees ships and drones congested the area, the military ships stayed out of it with good reason it was so congested it would have been impossible to maneuver even less possible to move.

On the USS Washington Commander Tom O’Leary stood tall over looking the large array of ships construction and martial flowing, he was a tall man, five foot twelve , his body was burly but skinny he was in his late thirties, his hair was salt and pepper…

His eyes panned the shimmering darkness that was space, and his mind was embracing on how insignificant how infinitely small this is to the rest of the universe, how no one would care about this in millennia to come, how all of this construction how all of this effort would be lost , and eventually would be forgotten, his hands were in back of him his eyes panning the view of space, his body was dully lit by the red dwarf star, gleaming on the ships hull, he had just gotten commanded of this new class of battle carrier a 2.7 Kilometer behemoth. He swiped quickly around, he fluidly raised his arm and in a loud coarse Irish accented voice.. his lips quivered open his toned rough skin stretching as his lips opened. “All right, helm set a course for the far side of the sector, full speed tell the carrier task force to follow have the USS Kennedy beside us”…

The helms officer nodded his hands moving on the holographic panel, and pressing them.

The large and small ships revved up there gravimetric engines, masses of white and blue ejecting from behind them as they began moving slicing space with an ominous military presence, there large gleaming hulls shimmered as they moved in unison like an army of death flowing to the edge of the system.

O’Leary Stood on the bridge looking towards his younger first officer, the first officer said in a deep but subordinate voice “Sir why do you think they are building all this, and why do you think they sent us here, we are military ships..”

O’Leary responded with a hint of curiosity him self his lips opened once again, this time with a softer less commanding but still percent voice, “I don’t know that I’m curious my self on the matter, it seems the government and the commander of the union him self has set large priority on getting this odd facility up and running, there are rumors of some ancient technology around here, its supposed to allow us to kill ascended beings… , well more like arrogant beings, but no matter I do not pay attention to such rumors”

The commanded nodded and looked back O’Leary stood there swiping back to the large view of space sighing as the serine peaceful lifeless dark void shimmered in front of them.

(Basically I want this to be a tech grab, my people will try to secure this thing that will kill ascended beings, tp use it as a deterrent , and we would have evil nations trying to get it for there use, and of course ascended rushing around trying to keep it out of our hands heh, this is a large secret felicity like black mesa this will be sort of a temporal/ weapons. Artifact research center for reason Ill make clear later on.)

The inertial dampners were stretched to their limit as the Cuyan (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/YZ-775) exited hyperspace. The ship was old and rugged, and with her tired systems and mechanics, was barely spaceworthy.
Sergeant Jallen Ansu gazed at the Federal fleet gathered above the target world from the cockpit of the aged vessel. He was old in war, an experienced and accomplished soldier in every field of command and combat, and was respected by his crew for his deeds in battle before his rank. He clapped an armoured hand on the shoulder of the pilot,

"<Divert power from the shields to the stygium layer,>" he ordered. "<Let's not take chances.>"

"<Aye, Jallen,>" replied the trooper. "<Shall I set a course for the planet?>"

Jallen shook his head. "<No. I want to see what those ships are doing here, first...>"

OOC: Hey Rob. Here and watching.

EDIT: Stygium is a naturally-occuring crystalline substance which, when used properly, functions as a sensor-blinding device. It's a sensor disruptor, not a damn invisibility machine.

Janus allowed his soul to float in the currents of energy that flowed all around him. Nearby the essences of the vast majority of his race bobbed up and down in the tide, orbs of energy.

Something is wrong.

A black spot appeared in the blinding white ocean.

Somebody is looking for... No. It couldn't be. Impossible. Mortal man should not seek such things.

In the back of his mind he knew that man would always seek what was not his to take.

He pushed himself down, back intot he body he had created for himself ten years before, when he and his kin had returned to the physical Universe, the Alterans reborn in seemingly mortal form. He looked at the other Alterans in the room, around the grand chamber with its gothic vaulted cieling, one mile high.
An Alteran woman spoke to him, her face, like those of the others in the room obscured by a haze of energy.

"What did you see, Janus?"

"Someone seeks to damage our realm. The mortals of the Fedral Union wish to take the Weapon."

At the edge of the Fedral system, a pair of interconnected B-decs dropped out of hyperspace, then split apart.
"Report?"
"The system does not appear naturally hospitable, but there are thresh gathered around a major construct."
"Damn. I hate naval battles. Bring us in close on grav drive, but be ready to activate Quantum drive at a moments notice."
"Your wisdom."

The commander stood out looking over the large facility being built, his eyes panning out to the endless sea of stars and darkness, his mind calm and serine, he sighed looking out his eyes deeply looking towards a single point in the clam void..

Suddenly the con officer swiveled his leather metal chair, he looked up to the old shimmering commander who was looking out of the large view port of the battle carrier.

The con officer said “Sir we have detected a blip on sensors and a second signature, I don’t know what it was but I suggest we start scanning”

O’Leary swiped over quickly, his hands behind him , his arms stiff, the light gleamed over his blue and grey uniform like that of a serene patch of grass after morning dew, his mind shifted from the quiet relaxing environment to work again, at least he had an infinitesimal second of peace, his lips began to open and curl a little he began to speak in a confident but loud voice , it was a voice with a hint of stress and frustration, as his mind was focusing on what the Imperial States was searching for in this back water system, he said “ agreed, start scanning on those spots raise shields.. If any one tries any thing we will be ready, gradinco I want you to start getting marines on drill alert for the duration of this mission , I have a feeling we will be needing them.”

He spoke like he knew what was about to happen , but he really didn’t, his mind was focusing on the infinite possibilities of what they were searching for, time stood still in his head as his obsession with knowing the facts almost projected outward, his hands fluidly moving over his gleaming chest, his eyes focused on one point out side the ship the designation he looked at it oblivious to what ever else was going on hoping, in some hollow prayer that it would come to him, that we would go on vacation one day……

The other officer worked quietly around him, one of the officers picked up a cup to drinks his coffee he was a young officer the cup was labeled # 1 Dad… this Lt had a family… He would be one of the ones to perish in the up coming conflict surely, the metallic cup sat there staring the commander from the side, is smooth gleaming reflective features sticking out as the large white lights of the ship shined upon the serine peaceful object that was sitting on the desk, the commander looked over and exhaled a bit, his eyes focusing on it….

The large capital ship slowly moved along like a sword of a crusader it cut through space its gleaming and shining hull reflecting the light of the red dwarf, the plates interlocking smoothly, as white and blue gravimetric engine exhaust flew from behind the ship. Its ominous shimmering body could put down most ships, It was powerful in its own right..

Mean while on the surface:

A tall man in an NBC suit looked over a huge operation, flood lights and other people in NBC suits were all focused on one area, the dusty environment was blinding, noises of fusion cutters and mining hover carts reverberated through the hellish chamber , the figure was five foot ten, his body was skinny he was warring a white environmental suit its smooth surface ideal for toxic waste or contaminates to slip off, the glass visor over his smooth pale face, he carried a small data pad looking over the huge operation his eyes panning the large cavern, he sighed as he stood there aimlessly Pushing buttons and installing data in to a droning database.

The hellish cavern was all black, it was almost a mirror version of hell, its black stalactites and odd markings of the wall was almost ominously intimidating to the staff working, but they had a job to do fear would not deter them other wise they would be laid off . the wall were rough panels of an odd metal, unknown markings covered them, they were dark grey with black pieces of rock still over some areas….

The orbital felicity was coming along well barney had successfully set security fields, he now sat back in his pod looking out to the endless void of space watching the small task force as it maneuvered outside the construction zone, his blue eyes looked upon the endless sea of stars with platuides of home, his mind restless, wanting to leave and join his family, his hands smoothly running along the gleaming reflective smooth chrome metallic table , over looking the beeping flashing lights of the monitors.

Janus added his digital signature tot he bottom of the transfer document in front of him. He had officially released a battlefleet for the coming storm. If the mortals got the weapon, it would be a costly victory for both sides.

"We cannot fail, Jove. If the mortals get anything as sophisticated as the Weapon then we're screwed. Simple as that. Mortals often envy ascended beings, as we sometimes envy them. What they want and cannot have, they destroy."

The commander assigned to the battlefleet was Jove, legendary in the border system of Lantea for the infamous 'De Drakan Drinking Incident', which gave rise to a number of imaginative games on the facility there.

"I will not fail the Dominion, sir. We won't let these mortals get such technology without giving them some bruises they'll remember to the end of time."

"<I reckon we're in the clear.>" said Jallen. "<They seem not to have noticed us. Take us down to the planet, Giak, and keep our energy emissions as low as you can.>"

"<Aye, Jallen,>" replied the pilot, his gloveless hands dancing over his console. "<At this speed, we'll enter the atmosphere in six hours.>"

-----

The Cuyan shuddered from end to end as it descended through the atmosphere, dropping at just under a hundred miles an hour. In the main hold, Sergeant Jallen and his thirteen Mandalorians gripped hard on the wall handholds. They had donned their battle armour, checked and rechecked their weapons, and now they waited for him to speak.

"<Our employer wants this done carefully and quietly,>" said Jallen. "<But above all, quickly. It is believed that the Federal Union excavation teams planetside are close to finding something that our employer would rather they did not. If they cannot be discouraged from their operation, we will destroy it. If we cannot prevent the excavation from being completed, we destroy whatever it is that they drag up from that hole.>" Jallen pointed with one armoured hand towards an unmarked cargo crate in the bay. "<That crate contains fourteen personal stealth generators, and six Thorium-Cobalt charges, enough to decomission a Star Destroyer.>"

The rumbling and shuddering of the ship gradually lessened as they neared the surface, and Giak's voice crackled over the comm system.

"<Strike Team this is Cuyan. We're nearly at the landing site, ETA two minutes.>"

Sergeant Jallen activated his comm to respond, "<Copy that, Cuyan. We're ready when you are.>" He turned back to his squad, "<Coris,>" he ordered, "<Distribute the stealth units and detonators.>"

-----

The Mandalorians stomped their way down the cargo ramp, assembling in a half circle at its foot. Jallen glanced at his personal datapad, which displayed a planetary map, then activated his stealth unit. One by one the hulking, armoured warriors activated their own, and one by one they seemed to disappear into thin air, the only marks of their passing boot-prints in the blowing sands...

OOC: What is the surface of this planet like? And describe the entrance to the facility itself, I'll probably need that later.
The employer is anonymous, but his bank account isn't. Mandalorians (http://starwars.wikia.com/images/3/3d/KOTOR7.jpg) don't ask stupid questions, and they're big tough bastards, power-armoured from head to toe, armed with the biggest and most tooled-up blasters they can find and kitted out with the best tech they can steal.
