Cast in the Name of God (Jagite-Cruxium War)

Jagada

New Christendom, Jagada

Eric looked at the screen in front of him--it illuminated him, his glasses, and the room in was sitting in. The other computer screens in the room illuminated his teammates as well. He was apart of a secret branch of the military called Section H, or better known as "Section Hackers" by the Jagite High Command. Orders had come down and now his job was complex--as was the entire job of Section H. A situtation was been boiling for some time between the Republic and a small nation called Cruxium over the sensitive issue of Freedom of Religion and Freedom to Worship. Eric sighed, Cruxium was yet another egoistic Empire that thought that banning religion was somehow going to better their nation. To him, besides that rather cycnical viewpoint, he really didn't care. His job was already hard enough and very complex. The first phase of what the Jagite High Command as told him was Operation: Red Dawn, was the Hack Phase and his team was apart of it.

The job was simple on paper, but complex in reality. Eric spoke out to his teammates, they were close enough together to do so and the room was contrusted in a way that no sound would escape it. "Begin jump," he stated dryly. With that comment, his team became the tip of the spear against Cruxium and its Coalition allies. They search quickly for the Cruxium internet connections, and soon found them. They didn't even bother to try and go threw the front door, as they could already see that firewalls kept the entire system locked up tight, thus Eric and his team searched for a section route--a backdoor. If they found it, it was a simple matter of entering, and planting the virus as their end. If there was no backdoor, then they would make a door in the system by cracking the code threw the front door or simply blowing a new door into the system. Either way it was done, the Jagite Hackers were in and out in a hurry, quickly rushing and planting the virus at the processor points of the entire system. This would then spread the Jagite cyber virus across the entire Cruxium Satelliate System. In effect, the satellites would completely shut down, save for motoring systems which would keep them in the air--their imagry system was what the Hackers were after. Without it, then they would be blind to the whereabouts of the Jagite Navy.

Eric and his team were not fools, and did self-checks on their own computers as they retreated from the Curxium Systems and back behind the "Wall", a very complex and tangled firewall system set up by the Ministry of Defense, primarily led by Section Hack, to defend the Jagite System from Hackers. Has Eric and his team passed into the Jagite System, they immiedately went to their designated satellite. There were hundreds of hacker teams, and they all 'fortified' the Jagite System. The front door, the backdoor, and any vulnerable points in the Jagite System were defended. From there even further security measures where taken as each satellite had its own personal, unquie, security wall, and behind that wall was indeed that satelliates own persoanl hacker team to defend it. Should the Hacker team fail, and the enemy hackers somehow break into the main controls of the Satellie, there was a primitive AI system installed that would simply run all Anti-Virus and Anti-Hacker systems it was given when installed--and it was regularlly updated. Though for Jagada, the possiblity of the enemy having enough manpower to try and stop the virus that the Jagites planted in their system, and launch a cyber assault on the Jagite System, break threw, managed to shut-down dozens of Hacker Teams, then break into the individual and unquie satellite systems of Jagada, defeat their personal hacker teams, then break into the core, and then break the AI was rather slim--but could be done. Jagada prided itself on its defense of its system--these funds had, however, been taken out of the Social Equality budget, which technically didn't exist, and the funds that would have gone to that where put into Section H and the Anti-Hacker Systems, and Anti-Virus Systems.

Though the Jagites didn't halt their cybernetic rampage there. Eric's team and the ones that assaulted the Cruxium System were now assaulting the Dontgonearthere System as well, as the Wolfensland Systems. Using the same tactics, and they attacked at the same exact time to ensure that no one had a chance to hear about the other unfortunate attack and try to prepare their own defenses.

Thus the operation was complete, and now the die in terms of this cyber war was turned over to Cruxium and its allies.

Inn,Jagada

Grand Admiral Bradley III. Grandson of Grand Admiral Bradley who fought against and eventually helped ousted the Dictator Norris, latered killed during the Fanatical Civil War. Son of Grand Admiral Bradley II, whom committed suicide during the Jagite Invasion of Malkyer when Jagada was a Slave State of Kraven. He was the third in a generation of surpremely excellent Naval Commanders. He was tasked with the job of imposing a Naval Blockade of Cruxium despite the fact that Dontgonearthere, Xeraph, Wolfensland, and maybe a few others all stood in Jagada's path to spread Religious Freedom. The task before him was daunting, and in this war Jagada literally stood alone--against a Coalition that outnumbered it, but did not outgun or outgeneral it. Jagada was renown for its Generals, Admirals, and Air Marshalls. Such heros as Field Marshall York, Grand Adrmial Bradley's I and II, and Air Marshall Hughes were Jagites and they had inflicted utter defeat upon nearly all whom opposed them. Bradley simply saw his situtation--annoying, more than impossible. Dontgonearthere had never been in a war as far as Jagite Intelligance Agency, 'The Eye', had known. Cruxium had no military whatsoever, but did have access to biological and chemical weaponry. Wolfensland had never been known for its military prowess or abilities, Xeraph may be prehaps the only real threat Jagada faced. Though their intervention semed rather small, and he doubted they would get fully involved.

The Monotheistic Republic was sending seven of its ten fleets to impose this forced Naval Blockade. The three fleets that would stay behind where only at ninty percent, they were the ones that had attacked HailandKill and been sent home in shame--they were actually filled with obsolete vessels, so their overall combat effectivness was probably only seventy percent. Nontheless, to accomidate this the Jagite High Command had the entire beach of Inn--the only realistic landing spot of any foriegn invader to Jagada, with heavy foritification. Steel reinforced concrete bunkers and walls, combined with machine guns nets, fixed artillery possibles, and the every present fear of Phantoms killing off generals or officers who exited their tents, would make any enemy General question if the invasion of the Republic was worth it. Jagada was, in essence, prepared for a drawn out war.

Though Bradley's primary concern was the Grande Navy which was already preparing to launch. He boarded his flagship, the JGFS 'Dwarven Hammer', a Dreadnaught. The seven fleets were divided up into two groups, one called "Group Theology" and the other called "Group Science". Four fleets were in group Theology, while three were in the Science Group. They went seperate directions as they took off, but where always within range of each other to assist incase an enemy attack came. The Jagite Fleets also tried to merge with the every constant, and almost cluttered, movement of Naval Vessels from other nations, or merchant ships including tankers, or simply large merchant vessels. If the Cruxium Coalition had some satallites still operational--then they would be hard pressed to locate the Jagite Fleet. The Fleet made its way towards the enemy fleets. Thus far Wolfensland and Dontgonearthere were the only Navies present off the coast of Cruxium--while Maraque and various nameless nations had put their ground forces on Cruxium. Bradley could only snicker at that--if, no when, Jagada enacted the Naval Blockade, their troops would simply hamper the scarce food that the Cruxium People would have and would in the end be more of a curse than a blessing to the Empire of Cruxium.

WAR!

A TNN Special Report!

New Reichsburg, Tinsuvilia What all began with stolen pigs and a break in, has now escalated to war, featuring some of the most respected and powerful militaries in the modern world. Xeraph, Jagada, DGNT, and more now face off, in response to Jagada's embargo upon Cruxium, attempting to force freedom of religion upon the small nation.

This foolish embargo will likely be the end to many lives.

Activists in Cruxium, eager for the right to free religious choice, attacked a LifeWyze establishment, setting off a hunt for the perpetrators, and an international hate session against the Cruxium Empire, lead mainly by Jagada. Ordered by the aggressive nation to change national policy and allow freedom of religion, Cruxium promptly replied:

"No."

This response, along with support for Cruxium's sovereignty by other nations, led to the threat of naval embargo by the much larger Jagada, displaying and odd combination: Republican Imperialism.

And so, today, Tinsuvilia marches to war. But it is not to Cruxium that the Navy sails. Jagada shall be the target. "The body is useless without the head."

Ten fleets of the Imperial Navy carry enough men and supplies to establish and maintain domination of Jagada. It will not be long before the beast is beheaded.

OOC: Is this MT or PMT? Basically, can I use my satellite weaponry?

"Begin satellite sweeps of all the ocean between Jagada and Tinsuvilia. I want to find that fleet!" said General Blak. "Put two missile submarines on high alert. Arm one with nuclear missiles, the other with conventional. If this conflict goes nuclear, I want to be ready.

"And somebody let Jagada know what's going on, in case nobody was watching the news. Tinsuvilians slipped up. Let's make them pay."

Statement by Robert Heljaan, Executive Consul of the United City States

Any foreign interference within the regional area of interest of the United City States will be met with the full necessary force of the nation from land, air, sea, and space.

All foreign military assets destroyed if the invasions are not called off.

By attempting to send soldiers you will provoke us to violence.

We have survived many wars against adversaries more ruthless and more adamant than those arrayed against Jagada now. It is their choice whether they send their soldiers home to their families in boxes or recognize and remove obstructions to the free market and the sovereign rights of nations.

In any case, if you look at our regional map, I'm right next to him, so you can see why I'd be against this.

FROM: Joint Chiefs of Staff, Shaz City, Shazbotdom

We condem the actions of your nation. We have spotted your navy making pace at full steam towards Cruxium National Waters and we deplore you to stand down with your course of action. This is also to inform you that the Empire will dispatch food and medical supplies to the Nation of Cruxium and these aircraft's orders are to not stop nor turn around for any reason. If these aircraft are fired upon by any ships or aircraft under the command of your nation, it will be considered an act of war against the Pure Socialist Holy Empire of Shazbotdom and will be met with the full retaliation of the Empire.

SCENE: Shazbotdom Marine Air Command
At Shazbotdom Marine Air Command a flight group of 10 AC-01 Pelicans, 2 Boeing 767's and 20 Modified Transportation Boeing 777's were being prepared in several hangers and out on the taxi ways. The AC-01's and Boeing 767's were being loaded up with as many Marines as they would fit to help distribute the food and medical supplies that were being transproted on the Boeing 777's. Word from the front line is that the Jagadian forces would attempt to stop the flight group from getting anywhere near the territorial airspace of Cruxium. For this reason, the Pelicans were being armed with a full barrage of machine gun amunition and a total of 6 Anti-Aircraft missiles in case they needed to engauge hostile forces.

SCENE: Shazbotdom Space Operations
In a bunker deep under ground, Emperor George A. Loak was called in a few shorts hours ago by a rather disgruntled Major from the Marine Corps. As he walked into the main room of the bunker, he spotted Major Renolds standing over a panel in the center of the room staring at a monitor built into the panel. He walked over to him and cleared his throat.

Loak: "What is it, Major?"

Renolds: "Several hours ago, after we recieved the first reports of that nation, what is it called...Jagada, making threats to start a blockade against the Nation of Cruxium, we spotted a rather large fleet of ships moving out of port in the nation of Jagada."

Loak: "So, what do you make of it?"

Renolds: "We feel that they are bend on actually doing this blockade. I do have reports though that our group of Aircraft are preparing to leave at this moment. If they leave within the next 15 minutes, they will reach Cruxium before the Jagadian fleet arrives, although with how it is looking, they arn't even half ready filling the crates into the 777's."

Loak: "So what your saying is that we just might have to figure out a way to get our aircraft past their ships without them being spotted?"

Renolds: "Precisly sir." Renolds then punched up a map of the area. "What I suggest is that if, and only if, Jagada places their blockade in these specific zones, which block naval traffic to the major ports of Cruxium, we move our aircraft around to this point, comming in from an angle. Now if it goes according to plan, they should be able to get into the National Airspace of Cruxium before they are spotted."

Loak: "And what if they don't get in before getting spotted."

Renolds: "Then we may have to go to DEFCON 3 and prepare the military to push in the supplies or find a different way to get them in. Either way, it won't be pretty."

Loak: "Keep me informed. I'll be at the Palace preparing a dinner party for some foreign dignitaries."

Renolds: "Yes, Sir!"

(OOC:
Troops were already deployed in the other thread, the Fast Reaction Forces should have arrived by now.)

The Klatchian Coastal Fleet was even now docking in Cruxium ports and offloading their men and material.
Colonel Vassily Mashinko rested his elbows on the edges of the transport ships rails, watching as the FRF's FLASH tanks were offloaded from the ship, idly counting them and wondering where the medium tanks were. FLASH's were all well and good, but they wouldnt hold up in a pitched battle for long...ah, there they were. Other side of the docks.
Typical organizational buggering around, offloading the bloody tanks on the wrong side of the yards.
"YOU LAZY BASTARDS GET BACK TO WORK! WEVE GOT A TIGHT SCHEDUAL AND YOU REALLY DO NOT WANT TO BE HERE WHEN THE NEXT FLEET ARRIVES!"
Two military dockworkers turned away from their communal smoke and looked up, muttering something that might have been a 'yessir' or a profanity, and got back to work with apparent reluctance.
Hopefully the rest of the army would arrive with the heavy tanks soon enough.
At least the air wing was here already. A pair of Avengers were circling overhead even now. They had fighter cover and even a few recon planes occasionally checking up on the waters surrounding Cruxium.

The two carrier groups made speed, cutting through the frigid waters of the region with speed. They would not engage Jagadan forces unless the fighting became too intense, and diplomacy was impossible. Hopefully they would not engage Jagadan forces at all. Their main purpose here was to break through the blockade peacefully and deliver supplies to Cruxium.

"XO, bring us about 45 degrees."
"Aye, sir. Around 45 degrees."
"Aye."

The massive INS Goliath, a Freedom-class carrier, swung about, causing a surge of waves to crash against her escorts. Her escorts ignored this, and followed her through the figid sea.

"XO, I need confirmation of enemy fleet movements. Can we have satellite scans of the area?"
"Aye, sir. I'll get on the horn now."

The Executive Officer picked up the reciever to a telephone, and contacted the IDI.

"Hello, sir. This is the INS Goliath, requesting a recon scan of the area around our current position."

He read off the coordinates of the area through the encrypted line.

"The next sweep of that area will be occuring now. We'll have the photos sent to you ASAP."
"Thank you, sir."

He hung up the phone, and looked ahead through the darkness.

"Quiet night.", he said to the ship's commander.
"Too quiet. Something's happening out there. We have multiple possibly hostile fleets someplace out there. And yet we don't have any intel on their position."
"You know how the IDI can be, sir..."
"And that is why I expect to know where every crewman in their fleet is inside the next three hours."

The admiral's XO chuckled.3

"I wouldn't be surprised."

The admiral turned to his XO.

"I won't be, because I know it'll happen."

Geosynchronous orbit
Over Cruxium

The satellite network went to work, snapping photos of the area continuously for ten miniutes. When the last photo was sent, the satellites transmitted the data to their secure network. It was then attached to an email, and sent to an address registered under a false identity to a 38 year old housewife in Aghelia. From there, it went to a secured and encrypted portion of the FTP to the baking website of a 55 year old woman, who posted recipes sent in by those who frequent the site. The FTP was accessed from someplace in Cravna, Cravan. The specific location? Imperial Department of Intelligence. From here, it was loaded into a jump drive, and taken to the desk of the Director of Intelligence.

"These have to be approved and sent to the fleet near Cruxium."
"Approved. Get them over there."

Within fifteen miniutes of the request for satellite recon, the photos were delivered to the fleet. Efficiency was a key priority of the IDI.

As was paranoia. The IDI made sure to do one of two things all the time:

Cover its tracks... Or leave none.

War breaks out between Jagada and Cruxium

Yet another war has broken out over religion. On one side: Jagada. They claim to be attacking Cruxium for its lack of religious freedom. On the other side: Cruxium. Sir Christian Smythe and Lord-Marshal David Johnson sat in conference with the Council of Defense.

The Lord-Marshal began the proceedings. "I am afraid that at some point in the last hour, a hostile force has taken down our satellite system. We are now blind to gentlemen."

"We understand perfectly well the situation, what we wish to know is what you intend to do about it!" Lord Christian slammed his hand onto the table, upsetting several glasses of water.

"Currently I can only suggest that we enquire as to whether our allies can relay battle information to us."

Lord Christian was a young, hot tempered man whose blond hair often seemed to be ruffled. Even now his face was set into a black scowl as he contemplated his options.

"Very well, Lord-Marshal. Speak to our allies and have them set up a relay, I do not like having my eyes gouged out by filthy religious fanatics." Spittle flew from his mouth.

"As you wish, Lord Christian. What of our defensive tactics?" The Lord-Marshal was past his prime to say the least, however, having never fathered a son, there was currently no replacement and his retirement was, as such, long over due.

"I'm going to speak to that damn capitalist, Lord James. I want as much biological and chemical weaponry as he can supply and his ETC's and CCC's on high alert. The minute one of those dirty foreign b*****ds sets foot upon our soil, they're going to be bleeding from the eyes."

Those about the table looked at one another, for there was no trace of sanity in the eyes of Lord Christian.

Armed Republic of Mer des Ennuis
Today, the imperialistic nation of Jagada instituted a naval blockade against the nation of Cruxium. They are going against many doctrines of the Christian Religion, and are attempting to starve the people of Cruxium. This cannot stand, since if a large nation such as Jagada is successful in enforcing its will upon a smaller nation like Cruxium, it is only a matter of time until a hostile nation attempts to do the same to us.

Because of this, I am ordering five amphibious assault groups to peacefully ignore the blockade and deliver humanitarian and strategic supplies to ensure that the people of Cruxium are not affected by this act of aggression. While normally ment to land marines, these groups will be loaded with foodstuffs and will only have token security forces. We expect the naval command of Jagada to act rationally and not attempt to sink our ships or attack our assets.

Men of the Navy, may the wind be at your back and may you conduct yourselfs with integrity in dealing with the people; their lives rest in your fortitute and courage.

"The key to power is stability under the market. To be isolationist and allow participants in the market to fall to foreign invansion is unacceptable. And that is why we will always fight."

Arthur Dleroes, After the Next War: National Prosperity and Regional Stability

[The Strategos Council]

Though rooted in tradition more Grecian than Imperial, the Strategos had always been those who took the reins of warfare from the Consuls. Though seated now within an underground complex rather than a tent on the fields of a new conquest, their job in coordinating battle remained important. A representative from each service, the Army, the Navy and the Aerospace Force sat within the command room along with advisors from the Executive Consul and other high-ranking civilians.

A wallscreen displayed a map of the theater, focused on the northern coast of the continent that New Empire and Jagada shared with other nations. Scattered symbology now depicted half the Northern Fleet making full steam for the waters north of Jagada, a corner of it displaying the weathered face of Fleet Admiral Johannsen aboard the UCSS Adam Smith[1].

"I expect you're ready for this, Admiral?" asked the Strategos of the Navy, though he knew Johannsen's record and had little doubt he felt ready for the task.

"Yes sir. We've pulled out most of the elements of StraDoc Gray. I don't plan on losing this one. These guys can't be worse than the Markies were, and they weren't reluctant to throw out a tacnuke or five when they wanted to."

"Carry on then Admiral, we'll contact you when we've finalized the defense strategy."

The datalink cut, and the square in the corner of the screen flickered away, leaving only the map.

Northern New Empire

Within the rocky crags of the mountains, a few tunnels began spewing out railroad cars, as they always did. It was a simple waystation on the track to the larger supply depots that serviced UCSNE assets in the north, usually passed by. But today was different. The biodiesel engines of the trains were now hauling the weight of many extra cars, and recieved a bit more guard and protection than would be usual for a home-based logsitic train. UCSAF Captain Alice Miller was in charge of her train's new cargo, peering over several computer screens from an armored car now linked to the chain.

"This is fucking nuts, you know, Cap?" muttered a 1LT tasked with comm. "You'd think after what we did to the Markies, the shit going on in the Throne, people would want to keep their noses out of here."

"Yours is not to reason why... Just make sure we have a stable satlink. When we light off, I'm not going to be blamed for shooting blanks on account of your punk arse."

"You're reeeeal cheery at five in the morning, you know that? Want some coffee?"

"If we need to draw then we'll have more on our minds than lack of caffiene. Just check the link and cut the small talk until then, alright?"

The truth was she had a bit of a hangover. Great mix of a Celt's love of the drink without a Celt's tolerance. So now the UCSAF had part of their strategic arsenal under the control of a few idiot officers and a drunkard. Conventional or no, she was glad necessity overrode the possibility of inspection. It was New Empire, anyway. Shit happens here.

W.K.S. Prinz Eugen
25 miles north of Rendezvous Alpha

Kapitän zur See Adolph Schmidt was standing on the bridge of the W.K.S. Prinz Eugen heavy cruiser. It was the first ship of its class, named after a WWII heavy cruiser. The W.K.S. Werner Ehrhardt, W.K.S. Hans J. Reinicke and W.K.S. Seifer K. Wolfstein were right behind it, in a column formation. Schmidt was a short man; his sandy hair was starting to lose its color.

“Kapitän, we should arrive in the RV point in about one hour at our current speed.” Announced a young blond male in a Kriegsmarine uniform. According to his shoulder straps he was a Korvettekapitän, the Wolfenslandic equivalent to a Commander on most navies, he was the ship’s X.O.

“Good. Inform the Oberkommando.” He replied.

“Aye, sir.”

About forty-five minutes later, a watchman announced: “Ship spotted! Bearing 020! Those are our merchants!”

“Set intercept course! Bearing 020! All ahead full! X.O. establish contact with the ships and inform the Oberkommando.” Ordered Schmidt, while looking at the merchant ships through his binoculars.

“Aye aye, sir.” Replied the executive officer, before transmitting the orders through the intercom.

“Set intercept course, bearing 020, all ahead full, aye sir!” Replied the conn officer, before giving the orders to the helmsman.

About fifteen minutes later the convoy was assembled and sailing to Cruxium at 8 knots, the merchant ships' maximum speed.

1st Wolfensland Abteilung HQ, Mainframe Room
Wolfenshafen, Wolfensland

The mainframe located on the 1st Wolfensland Abteilung HQ was the most important computer on the country. It contained the entire national police database and also controlled the communications flux of the several Wolfenslander Abteilungen. It also handled other less sensitive data, such as secret government projects information. The WAs, like the Abteilungen were known, are paramilitary police organizations responsible for the Homeland Security and Stability.

The mainframe is a very powerful system, comprising of several high speed multi-core processors and several high capacity hard disks. There is a single terminal with four LCD screens that controls the mainframe, and there is always a system operator monitoring it. Johanna Schmuckler was sitting on a comfortable chair in front of the terminal. She was about 23 years old, and, like 51% of the Wolfenslandians she was blond with blue eyes. Johanna worked for the Sicherheitsdienst, the Wolfenslandic intelligence agency. The Sicherheitsdienst (SD) was responsible for the security of critical systems. It was just the beginning of her 12-hour shift when suddenly an alert popped up on one of the screens: “Warnung! Eindringen-Alarm! Rasterfeld B3!” Johanna was tempted to try to counter-hack the invader, but she had to follow the strict security protocol of the SD. She typed some commands and in a couple of seconds the mainframe was isolated from the internet. She also alerted all other critical Information Centers. To hack the government mainframes now, a hacker would need to pass through several other high-security systems on the SECNET, which would take some time, and also alert the Sicherheitsdienst.

Cruxium Coastal Waters

A frigid wind blew across the metallic hull of the JGFS Dwarven Hammer, yet the ship moved on, as if in defiance of the chilling winds. It was 0500 hours, military time, which translated to around five in the morning Cruxium time. Early in the morning it was, as the two Jagite Naval Groups Theology and Science converged to do battle with the Cruxium Empire and her allies. The sailors onboard their ships were wide awake, having their sleeping schedules atlered to ensure they got the proper sleep nessecary to function as optimal effiency for the upcoming battle. The CWIS Turrents on various ships lay silent and dorment, as the sailors who had shift duty and were standing on the decks preforming various tasks wherein their full Nuclear-Chemical-Biological Suits and Gear. They had been told to expect a chemical or biological attack from Cruxium, given to the anti-religious empire by a vile corporation within the nation called LifeWyze BioTech. Prehaps these soldiers would have died this day from such an assault--if LifeWyze hadn't made a public statement saying they would indeed sell, or outright give, the Cruxium Empire any weaponry they needed to attack the Republic Ships coming to bring them liberty. The movements from Jagite Ports to Cruxium had been swift and chaotic--as the two groups splite apart and merged in with the constant flow of naval ships, fleets, and squadrons that commoning occupied the international waters of the World. The Jagites had waited until the last possible moment to merge together, thus giving the DGNT Navy even a less chance of catching on to the situtation, and making Cruxium virtally open to any kind of attack the Grande Navy was desiring to give it. Though many mistakes had been made DGNT Navy, they had docked their fleet and started unloading equipment--this would ensure that espically at five o'clock in the morning they would still be unloading such equipment or would be simply on guard duty in port while their sailors prepped the ships to return out to sea--possible to guard against the very attack that was about to swarm down upon them with the vegence of a vengful people.

The bridge of the JGFS Dwarven Hammer was illuminated in green and blue lights from the various screens that occupied the room-all casted an illuminous glow upon their crew, ontop of which silence was in the room, making it seem as though machines were working instead of humans. Admiral Bradley III looked down as his glowing watch, and it read 0500 right on the dot. Right on time. The upcoming battle would decide weather the Republic would be the tip of the spear in the perservation of religious rights--weather a religious could no longer be catagorized with the totaltarians and genociding dictators and instead be their own independant listing--an a listing to be reckoned with. Such was the goal of the Republic. "Begin Operation: Thunder Lords," said Bradley into the darkness. He got confirmations from various forces and immiedately the two groups, Theology and Science, sprung to action. From the decks of the various carriers, the Jagite Teutonics and Sidestreamers launched. They aligned themselves in the air and the Teutonics flew in first.

As they flew the Teutonics took a torrent of fire, as SAM Missile and Anti-Aircraft Systems activated flinging all types of death-bringing objects at the pilots. Immiedately the Teutonics released their metallic chaff and flares and began to make evasive maneuvars. Those saved many young lives that night, but many more it did not, and over the skies, far from home, lives were ended as fireballs lit up the night, more so the various streaks of morning and burning fuel from the Anti-Aircraft Missiles. The Teutonics continued to fly in, despite the attacking they were taking. Their targets was the DGNT Capital Ships, which could be seen thanks to the thermal output such ships gave--even if their engines had been off. Another way was guessing, and simply picking the biggest looking ships--either way the Jagites would hit some of their targets. The Teutonics did not carry with them the convential missiles they would use, but they had been adjusted to fit Anti-Dreadnaught Missile, the Jagite 'Big Bang', and regardless of what class of ship the DGNT had these missiles would definately do some damage. Though it wasn't over yet for the sailors of the DGNT Navy, the Sidestreamers came in second, but not very long after the Teutonics, in fact less than a minute, but by that time the Teutonics would have been given most of the DGNT Navy's Anti-Aircraft Systems attention. They flew in low, their targets the most obvious to fin and hit, the DGNT Carriers. The Sidestreamers flew in, spotted their targets, dropped their payload, while releasing metallic chaff to try to avoid as much Anti-Aircraft System fire as possible. After dropping their payloads, the Sidestreamers turned around and immiedately headed back to the Jagite Grande Navy, to ensure that if more attention was paid to them by the AA Systems, the Jagite Sidestreamers released their flares as they left, ensuring some protection. Though the Teutonics remained until they had completely used up their missile ammunition, which wasn't much and then they too took off.

Movement became visible to the Jagite forces from the north, clouds of smoke and steam rising up from the snow-covered ground. It seemed a large number of vehicles advanced upon the location, clearly between sixty and sixty-five trucks designed for transportation.

The convoy grew ever closer to the extensive Jagite force.

(OOC:
Who said anything about carriers? DGNT's marine navy is composed of submarines and transports, there is no need for anything else since I am a primarily FT nation, other roles can be filled by spacecraft, not in this RP of course, but eh. The transports moderatly well defended, for transport ships, but transports they are.
Thus, Ill assume its them your attacking. If not, Ill edit.)

IC:
"INCOMING!"
The ships Anti-Missile-Cannons, spraying lead into the sky regardless of who or what got in their way, raked across one of the incoming ADM's, resulting in a rather large explosion.
This particular transport ship had gotten lucky. It had taken a hit from one of the Anti-Dreadnaught-Missiles in the initial attack. But through sheer luck or chance or fate, the missile simply passed through the relativly thin upper hull of the ship, passed out the other side (leaving a gaping hole) and exploded in the dockyards.
Sailors were visible everywhere now, running about putting out fires, jumping overboard, or manning various air-defence stations.
Somebody down on the docks had the presence of mind to unload one of the IR-Missile launchers and was busy setting it up between two transports where they had some cover from the rapidly forming dogfight above the ships.
Across the yard, one of the transports, full of ammunition, was now almost fully underwater, only its bridge was visible, another beside it was now in flames from an ADM hit.
Directly above, the few patrol fighters that had been present for the initial attack were now heavily engaged and screaming on all channels for reinforcement, which was settled a good way inland on a temporary runway, hurriedly preparing their fighters for launch.

Admiral Jennings again scanned the horizon for signs of the enemy. Nothing. Nothing on radar, nothing via scans from the OBPs, nothing at all.

The Emperor had ordered a total of six CBGs to the waters off Cruxium. One hundred fourty-four ships-of-the-line, including 24 aircraft carriers carrying 60-70 fighters each. Nothing like the numbers that Jagada was supposedly sending, but Jagada was not the experienced wager of war that the Emperor was.

The Task Force was anchored 22 miles offshore, 144 vessels stretched out in a line 72 miles long, staggered formation. Battleships, destroyers, missile cruisers, FABs and subs were poised to unleash a barrage that would decimate anyone that came against it.

But.....where were they?

Alaric Tan'it, Xeraphian Emperor, was pacing. He was all dressed up for a fight, but there wasn't anyone to fight....at least not yet. Jagada and whatever allies they had were nowhere to be seen.

One more day he'd wait. Then he would carry the fight to the shores of Jagada itself.......

ooc: sorry everyone....been gone for 2 days and probably won't be around 'til Fri nite...

Cruxium Coastal Waters

The DGNT Navy was very unconvential in its works. It contained only well guarded transport. They had engaged the Jagites with their patrol aircraft, but they wouldn't be enough to prevent the aircraft that they were now engaged in over the skies of coastal Cruxium. As the DGNT planes from the interior of Cruxium took off, they would be far too late. As the last of their planes burst into a fireball over the Cruxium coast. Reports had already come in from AWACs in the area about incoming DGNT planes. The Teutonics already had a second wave flying in to relieve the first, thus they broke off and headed back. In the mean time, the DGNT soldiers on the shore were still trying to resist the Jagite Naval Sky Force. The Sidestreamers, due to lack of carrier targets, turned their attention on them. Sweeping in and dropping several thousand pound bombs ontop of the DGNT troops. The bombs they carried were originally for carriers, but they could still be used against infantry as the effect would be the same. Some of these bombers suffered the fait of getting too close and thus getting hit by the AA systems of the enemy. Though once they delievered their payload, they immiedately turned about and headed back to the Grand Fleet. Meeting them not far from the shore was the second wave of Teutonics, they flew in and immiedately targeted the DGNT planes unleashed their long range missiles, breaking off themselves they prepared to release their anti-missile systems which included metal chaff and flares. The Jagites were rather disheartened by the lack of resistance shown before them by the Cruxium Empire and Dontgonearthere--though what the AWACs picked up several miles away would soon present an interesting oppenent to face--the Barbaric Empire of Xeraph.

On the JGFS Dwarven Hammer, the bridge was alive with activity--focusing not just upon the Cruxium and DGNT resistance, but also something the AWACs had picked up, a rather large fleet whom was expected to be coming towards Cruxium--they had made no attempt to hid their arrival, this told Bradley to expect some degree of arrogance. He reviewed in his mind all the enemies he was told to expect: Dontgonearthere and Wolfensland were the primary supporters of Cruxium. Maraque had troops, almost five-hundred thousand somewhere in Cruxium. Various other countries had promised to fly in supplies, and dared Jagada to resist them. Bradley cared little about these countries, before all was said and done, Cruxium would give in and they would submit to Jagite demands--as they were the demands that any democracy would fight for. Yet, like always, when a religious broke out and drove to do what is right, they are condemned as fanatics and insane. Bradley growled, Jagada was probably one of the most tolerant, most modern, and most friendly and peaceful religious nation in the world--yet the Liberal world feared Jagada, and the totaltarian world hated Jagada for being a democracy. Thus the Republic's motto "We Stand Alone" was more true than ever before. Bradley was a board man, very muscular, and had ordinary looks of any Jagite, crystal blue eyes and silver hair. He hair was cut extremely short and stuck straight up--almost like a flattop of sorts. Suddenly another nation entered his mind: Xeraph. They had made vague threats at Jagada and promised to push the Religious Republic away from Cruxium. That could be them, or it could be some unknown enemy simply launching an assault. The most dangerious enemy was one that did not declare his presence known--but then again, Bradley didn't think those he was up against were half as good as the rumors claimed. If it was Xeraph, they would, like Dontgonearthere, much larger than Jagada. Though, with the right tactics, he could send Xeraph packing--and if Xeraph fell, then Cruxium would have to surrender. Regardless, Jagada wasn't going to go home defeated, Cruxium would give freedom to their people--no matter how much the World hated Freedom of Religion, or religion itself, Cruxium would be made an example that the Republic would not tolerate religious presecutation.

"Turn the fleet about. I want to be able to hit the enemy fleet, and hit them hard. Have the first wave rearmed immiedately, and the third wave ready for launch against unknown enemies. Expect extremely heavy resistance. AWACs are to report every fifteen minutes. Understood?"

Bradley simply got a confirmation from the communication officer. Bradley stood in the ill-lit bridge of JGFS Dwarven Hammer pondering on how he would defeat the Xeraph Fleet, if it was indeed them which he highly suspected, when suddenly the communications officer replied, "Sir, word from Admiral Chao Qin of Group Thunderstorm. They are within fifty miles of Cruxium, appoarching slowly sir." Bradley replied with confirmation--Group Thunderstorm was the last remaining three fleets of the Republic had, in a very risky and dangerious move, left Jagada not long after Group Theology and Group Science left. It was a risky move, but considering the naval might that would be required to blockade Cruxium, fight back anyone who attempted to liberate them, and eventually force Cruxium to surrender--the risk was worth it. Luckily New Empire and The Aeson had seen it in their best interests to push the Tinsuivilian Fleet back instead of fighting with Jagada in Cruxium--Bradley was relieved as now the Holy Lands were safe.

In the end, a naval battle that would go down in the history books was about to be waged.

Dean could see the enormous forms of the battleships manouvering in the water, merely shadowy shapes from this distance and with explosions erupting across the skyline. Flashes filled the air as the sky began to lighten with the coming noon. Despite the arguements of various members of the Defense Council, they were still en route to Port Grief, location of the Jagite fleet.

The convoy was now no more than fifteen minutes from the armarda.

" Sir, Jagadan ships are sighted."

Jennings jumped up and grabbed the binoculars. " I'll be damned! It's them alright. Any activity, Captain?"

" Yessir. They're running around on those ships like chickens with their heads cut off. OBPs are scanning and reporting numerous Jagadan ships manuvering for battle/attack positions. Maybe they didn't know we were here, Admiral."

"I'll guarantee it, Captain. Very well, inform Gen. Strickland and, of course, the Emperor. I'm ordering Phase II of this operation to commence in one hour."

" Yessir."

Phase Two of Operation Sun-Tzu was simple. Master Sun's foundational view of warfare was about to be implemented: All Strategy Is Based On Deception. As far as the Jagadan commanders knew, they were coming up against six Xeraphian CBGs...144 ships and a little over 1600 aircraft. It's what they didn't know that was going to turn this sea battle into a route.....

As the Jagadan fighters were swerving to begin their runs on the infantry below, twenty Avengers promptly swept in at Mach 2 and unleashed their own missiles, a mix of IRMs, Heat-seekers, radar finders and ARMs.
The pilots quickly pulled up, using the 'Al-Khali Turn' to both avoid incoming fire and prevent their own missiles from locking on to the various emissions of the DGNT fighters, theoretically the Turn could not be performed by less modern fighters, using the Avegneres excellent flying chareceteristics and 'flying wing' design, and each fighter carried eight missiles presently.
Meanwhile, on the ground, most of the troops had gotten under cover by now, either in ships, in buildings or under crates on the docks.
Now there were five missile launchers on the dock, most of them inside allyways or covered in sandbags in some effort to defend themselves from the firestorm going on above.
Several of the lighter tanks had joined into the fight, using their light cannons as AA weapons, which they were moderatly well suited to, although some lacked the verticle traverse to be truely effective.
Some distance away, the next wave of Dontgonearthereian fighters, all sixty of them, were rapidly closing with the furball over the docks.

---

Meanwhile, other dockyards across Cruxium were host to other flottillas of DGNT transports, a good many of which were unloading canister after canister, bearing such names as 'DS2' and 'The Fifth Horseman', as well as conventional names like Sarin, Tabun, Chlorine and so on.
Such weapons were handled with extreme care, especially some of GLACORP's more exotic items, which were known to act erratically on occasion.
Overall, the Cruxian chemical weapons stockpile had just advanced several decades AND grown exponentially.

---

Back at the docks, Dontgonearthere forces had gotten their act together and infantry on the ground were rapidly getting the most valuable equipment off of the ships and into buildings where they had some measure of protection from the assault.
Here and there exhaust streams from the ground showed the passing of an IRM headed for a Jagadan fighter, a clear and unjammable picture in its little electronic brain of what it was setting out to kill.
