I need to know how the war got started, in order to pick a side.

Yes, why has this war been started? It is, unfortunately, our people's inclination to assume that you are attacking them without a reason if no reason has been given.

We have declared war on this nation because we have traded weapons with them and they have not sent any money, or any goods. Also we dont like their politics.

If forced into this conflict, Aegethia would support The Oceanic Party for its politics, although not its actions, as we feel The NSSR does not grant its land enough freedom. However, Aegethia does not intend to become embroiled in conflict- The first reason being pacifism; The second reason being that we have neither the power nor the arms to become involved in any kind of conflict.

Well, seeing as you are a small nation, it wouldnt matter if you supported the Oceanic Party.

The Superhappy Funtime Empire of Dontgonearthere frankly doesnt care at all about the reasons for this war, but would be happy to supply you with some highly effecient means of destroying your enemies.

A word of advice, 5,000,000 soldiers would constitute your ENTIRE army at %5 of your population (the practical maximum for your population. Generally having a bunch of puppets and saying they support you doesnt go over well either, its considered cheap unless they post (if theyre different people) their support of you. If they ARENT different people, its basically a 'puppet wank'.

Let's put it in perspective, shall we?

Your average tank costs about $6 million to purchase. One million tanks would thus cost approximately six million million, or six trillion, dollars to purchase, which just happens to be sixty times your annual defense budget, or 180 times your annual procurement budget (which can be at a maximum of 33% of your defense budget).

In other words, you would have to save up for 180 years of buying nothing else but tanks to purchase a million tanks.

Let's move into the logistics of taking care of a million tanks now.

Materials alone for maintaining a tank cost about $60,000 per year per tank. Paying its crew a minimal salary of $40,000/year, with four crew per tank, is another $160,000 per year per tank. Logistical crew and it goes up to about $400,000 total per year per tank. And that's when they're all just sitting in warehouses and suchlike.

If you ever, Mod forbid, actually use one of them, costs go up exponentially for fuel, repairs, insurance to families of dead crew members, general maintenance, all those rounds from the main and secondary guns, and so on.

In peacetime alone, a million tanks will cost you $400 billion per year, which is four times your military budget.

In wartime... I shudder to think.

Steelia is a nation completely devoted to war -- we spend the maximum sane percentage of our GDP on defense, or about 10-15%, and we have maybe 100,000 maximum armoured vehicles. Admittedly, some of those are UHBT style 'supertanks' and the like, but still, we are 40 times your size and have approximately a hundred times the defense budget. I call godmodding.

You can add it up; I tried. The stated amount is nowhere near close enough to maintain a million tanks.

Common sense tells me to side with the Oceanic ones, however not believing in war my call if for the NSSR to withdraw its troops.

Sugar cane tastes good, alcohol is fun, therefore sugar cane alcohol is some sort of dream miracle combination which makes everyone happy, even when it is running the tank which is blowing them up :)
