OOC: This is open, people can play villagers if they want to, or one of their own citizens in the village
An explosion, a bright torrent of flames and dirt that rose into the air, the smoke and heavy rumble from the shock of the explosion shook the building, then suddenly, the shrapnel ricoched off somthing metallic, giving it a distinct ping and then.... Darkness...
"Shhh... rest yourself young one..."
"Where... am I?"
"Just rest... thats not important right now..."
"but..."
"Sshhh... Just rest..."
"What do you think?" asked a young man, as a woman walked out of a darkened room...
"I don't know, he doesn't seem to know where he is.." she looked at him with forlorn eyes...
"I don't like it... I don't like it at all..." he shook his head, before turning and looking out of the window
"If I hadn't done anything about it, we'd have been no better than they..." she spoke holding up her hands...
"I know... thats why I don't like it..." he finished by leaving the house, leaving her alone...

Thirty-seven... thirty-eight... and a little bit of loose change. It was a tidy little profit, more than David Halder had been expecting today, but he'd need a re-stock soon. He was nearly out of bacon, which had accounted for over half the days earnings, and he could use more chicken as well.
Glancing at his watch, he realized it was twenty past ten, and flipped the sign in the window to "closed", then locked the door, dropped the small change into his change box, and climbed the stairs... and stopped. It was a nice night. Dry for once in a blue moon, which was shining brightly (although it was white, of course). And he needed the exercise. He changed into a coat and boots, grabbed a torch, and left the house, locking the door behind him and strolling leisurely down the familiar the street.

Early, The Next Morning
The morning was bright, but slightly cold, people were waking up early for the day ahead, there was a market in town today and so people awoke early to get some decent bargins, the church bell gently rang out, and people began to wlak out into the streets...
"Good morning.." spoke one man, yawning and stretching his arms out wide...
"Hey, good night?" another asked, passing him on the pavement...
"Yeah, I slept easy.." he smiled, lowering his hands..
The other man laughed, continuing on his way...
In one house, the curtains were just opened by a young woman, in her early 30's, she smiled looking out to the village as it was starting to get busy...
"I love market day..." she quietly thought to herself..
her husband came up behind her and put his arms around her, giving her a loving and warm hug..
"Morning darling..."
"did you sleep well?" he asked her..
"Yeah... how about you?"
"No, I didn't, having him here is making me uneasy.."
"Its only for a while..
She turned to face him, while he still held her in his arms...
"I know, but the village will soon find out about him, you can't keep him locked up in his room all of the time..."
"I'm sure they won't mind at all..." she smiled resting her head against his chest..
"yes, but he's an outsider... and he's not...."
"Not what?" She asked, looking up at him..
"Not... well... you know... Normal..."
"He's no different from me or you..."
He smiled, he knew she always had a kind heart...
"Well... I suppose we'll find out soon enough..."
(OOC: This is a strange request, but can I play the local preist? And if so what religion?)

(OOC: This is a strange request, but can I play the local preist? And if so what religion?)
OOC: Sure go for it, General Religion in this region is Christian (although I'd just like to state now, I'm not christian in the Slightest, Norscan all the way)
The Local Church
Father John, the local priest, sat in the study of the quaint house that was attached to the small church. As usual, he was reading at the small wooden desk in the corner, right next to a window that faced out to the main village street. This time he was reading a book entitled Constantine the Great. As always, John was reading up on some famous Roman Emperor.
His eyes scanned the pages of the book over his circular reading glasses, soaking up every minor detail and fact about the Roman Emperor. Finally, he shut the book and placed at the corner of the table, and stood up to go out into the streets for Market Day.
OOC: I'm assuming modern day just... peaceful? Right?
IC: Kallirroe climbed down the steps from her room at the Inn. She had been here for two days now and was starting to enjoy it. The village was small but it was a nice change from home. She could see her little rented motorcycle outside and considered going for a drive later if the weather held. She had been doing a motobike tour of the country, enjoying every moment of her vacation. She already had about six rolls of film to develop, whenever she got back to a photographer that was.
She stepped outside the inn and looked around. A bit chilly, but nothing she couldn't deal with. Spotting the market opening for business she started to wander in that direction. She never could turn down a good bargain, besides, she needed souveniers.
Jacob Presk was feeling the downside to his flu go down, as his stomach lurched and lobbed, as if it was doing a somersault in wanton defiance. Nevertheless, he felt fairly amiable. Sitting carelessly on the bench in the cleanly cut park, the smell of waving flowers and the seductive blow of the wind beckoning him as he bathed in the softness of the sun's reassuring glow. It was quiet, nothing more than the sounds of the children laughing playfully or the soft rap of the flowers. Life was easy, life was simple, and he loved it that way.
His brown plain hat bent over his eyes with the small slit showing tenderly, his thin white shirt and baggy blue pants drooping, Jacob was enjoying the softness of the natural world. It was his day off, and he would relax, nothing more.

David stretched and glanced at his clock. twenty minutes till opening time. Time for a beer. He wolfed down a pre-prepared breakfast of his own merchandise, and ran out of the door, over to the bar, where he ordered a pint and sat down.
