Fascist Leader Assassinated

Peoples House Member and leader of the Colonial Fascist Party Conrad Richards has been gunned down in the streets of La Porchette by persons unknown. He was shot whilst taking part in a Fascist rally concerning poverty in the Southern Province. During his speech a sinlge gunshot was heard and Mr Richards collapsed at the podium with a chest wound. Paramedics were on scene and rushed him to La Porchette Imfirmary, but he died en route.

Several members of the Fascist Party have denounced police and government security efforts, claiming that Mr Richards had been left as “an open target”. Some have even mooted the possibility of a government sponsored assassination. Governor Connie Chung issued a statement offering her personal condolences to the Richards family and categorically denying any government involvement in the shooting. Colonial Police General Oliver Barton, provincial commander for the south, issued a astatement that they were looking for “a lone gunmen who most probably acted alone”.

Infighting has already broken out amongst the senior members of the Colonial Fascist Party. Two distinct wings have become apparent. One section of the party want to keep the current political system afloat, the other advocates withdrawal from the political process and civil insurrection. It is known that immediately after the election Mr Richards was contacted by a foreign government offering to support a coup attempt. Mr Richards fully disclosed this contact to the Colonial Police Force and Colonial Intelligence Agency – something some senior fascists see as a mistake.

Violence Erupts
Protests were held all over the southern province yesterday as the new leader of the Colonial Fascist Party, Oliver Gates, led Fascist PHMs and Senators in a mass walkout from Congress, stating that they no longer recognised the authority of the government and demanding independence for the Southern Province. Arrests were made all over the province and Colonial Police General Barton stated that the situation was “tense but returning to normal”. Eye witnesses disputed this however, stating that La Porchette was practically a battle zone.

Oliver Gates was last seen at a rally in La Porchette’s main square urging the Police and the Army to rise up against the government. He is now in hiding following the issue of an arrest warrant for treason. Governor Chung and other Coalition politicians have called for calm amongst the population and assured the people that “there will be no uprising. We are in control”. All four Commanders in Chief of the armed forces have stated that Gates has virtually no support amongst the armed forces.

It is thought by political commentators that support for independence in the south is very low, the violence being more of a protest against government failure to address poverty issues in the province.

Ollieland:

I see you have done your coup d' etat/revolution.

As you are/were aware, the last time Kravania contacted your Fascist Party, Kravania was an Empire ruled by Emperor Constantine I.

Big changes have occured in Kravania since then. A Revolution led by a group called the New Humanist Movement (NHM) has occured. The NHM used nuclear missiles to kill the Emperor and his regime in his countryside holiday palace and they used another 190 nuclear missiles on all the big cities and military bases.

The NHM took control under the leadership of a man, known only as Father. No one knows who Father really is, no one knows his name or life story. All that was revealed was that Father was a scientist prior to the revolution who created a drug/medication called Xeroxium.

Xeroxium drugs a person up to get rid of the emotions, human feeling, the ability to think as an individual, sexual desire and other human traits.

After the revolution (known as the Great Humanist Revolution), Father made every Kravanian by law, to take the drug Xeroxium once a day, to kill their emotions. Father sees emotion as the main obstacle to human evolution and the creation of a brotherhood of man, for emotion causes war, hunger, poverty, hate, love and other social ills in the eyes of Father.

Father passed a series of laws that has turned Kravania into a Humanist State, a totalitarian 'utopia'/dystopia.

The new Kravanian Humanist State is basically very much like the novels 1984, Brave New World and Plato's Republic and influences from the recent film, Equilibrium.

I have to yet to think of how Father will react to your Fascist revolution.

Prehaps your Fascist leader could promise Father that the new Ollieland regime will force it's people to take Xeroxium and thus ban human emotion from your nation. To transform your fascist movement into a New Humanist one on the lines of the teachings and ideals of Father.

I'll post a link on the laws/political-social system Father imposed in the next post. Just to give you an idea of what society Father has built.

Aitoku 7371 gives a deep breath, pushing open the heavy steel blast door and stepping inside. Somewhere in the bowels of Steelia II, one of the larger administrative buildings in the former Empire -- itself mostly underground -- he is in an audience with some of the most powerful people in the country.

Aitoku is no stranger to power. Being one of the few named Steelians, he has earned his name, like all great heroes and generals, by years of hard combat. But he will be coming face to face with the most powerful human -- if such a limited term could be used to apply to Her -- in Steel and Fire.

The other Generals, Admirals, and Marshals are mainly assembled already, seated around a boomerang shaped table; the room is cavernous, high vaulted ceilings stretching away into darkness while its expanse is lit mainly by red lights, sparsely scattered, and a spotlight-like pool of bluish white around the centre of the table.

Then another pair of heavy doors opens invisibly on the other side of the room, and a figure appears out of the darkness. Aitoku 7371 watches it with his crimson eyes impassively, fear and respect beginning to well up within him as the light softens to a bluelike colour. The person approaching is well known to all, and with reason.

She is clad in some shade of dark blue, with a sweeping cloak of black fur behind her. Some of the exposed parts of her body appear silvery, but that could be just the light. She speaks in a mellifluous contralto voice, musical, seductive, but commanding.

"Greetings, my children."

The officers stand and salute abruptly; She waves a hand towards them, indicating that they sit once more. Behind her a soldier drags in a pair of large maps, half hidden by the darkness. Aimée glances imperceptibly towards a light, which switches on as if at Her bidding, and smiles, her face half hidden by waves of hair of indeterminate colour.

"I have gathered you with me for a reason," She says, sweeping across to stand by one of the displays. "As you doubtlessly know, we have few resources left in Steelia for our purposes. Manufacturing has stripped our land of its metals, its uranium, its food."

Silence. She looks around expectantly.

"This map here shows the nation of Ollieland, which is rich in resources we do not have, including human resources, over two billion of the latter, and land. More so, the Ollish people are in the midst of a fascist rebellion -- according to satellite passes, effectively a civil war."

Aimée stops, smiles, and turns to another map. "We will support the legitimate government of Ollieland against the fascists revolting there, at the same time assessing the Ollish military. Then, when the fascists have been defeated, we simply take over the government and place the nation under Steelian control.

"Are there any questions?"

One influential General, Izmiri 84-71C, stands slowly, his features illuminated in the light.

"If it so please Her Glorious Excellence, one humbly wishes to ask whether such a move can be risked with the International Community watching?"

Aimée dismisses him with a wave of her hand. "Pfft, those fools? They will try nothing, they are too busy squabbling over issues of morality and giving pompous airheaded speeches."

She looks around the circle of faces. "Any more questions?"

Silence answers her.

"Good, then. Executive Office, start writing up a message to Ollieland's government informing them of our support. And mobilize Units 24 through 29 for action, with 35 on standby."

Aimée glances at the light again and it abruptly shuts off. When the eyes of the men and women sitting around the table recover, blinking back into life, She is gone.

Governor Chung brought the Cabinet meeting to start and addressed the secretaries present.

"I'm glad your all here, ladies and gents, because we have a problem. I've asked Police General Barton here to provide us with a report of the situation in the Southern Province. General, if you would?"

The tall General stood up from his chair at the back of the room and approached the table. He was a very tall man, over 6 foot, and looked slightly uncomfortable in his starched uniform. He removed his cap and adjusted his glasses before he spoke.

"Thankyou madam Governor. As you have probably heard from the me dia the situation in some areas of the South is worse than previous thought. Most of the urban areas have been pacified by local police forces and the Colonial Police Force (CPF). However we do have reports that law enforcement units in some small towns deep in the Conrad jungle have been cut off by rebel forces"

At this statement there were sharp intakes of breath all around the table. Several remarks were heard such as "bad situation", "why weren't we told" and "surely not as bad as". The Governor banged her gavel on the table to bring the assembled ministers to order. "General Barton please continue".

"Four towns along the Great Blue River have chased out their local law enforcement units and attempts to enter these towns by CPF River Patrol units have been met with gunfire. It is my sad duty to inform the Cabinet that a state of rebellion exists in these towns, led by fascist politicians, and I am formerly requesting the mobilisation of troops as the CPF can no longer handle this situation." This last statement was read direst from the paper he was holding. As the General said it he took off his glasses and placed them inside his hat.

The cabinet room erupted, the Governor responding with her gavel immediately. The only one still speaking was the Culture secretary.

"Bill, I understand your reticence but this is a crisis. We can't allow these people to secede, it would break up the nation. they don't evene have the support of the Southern province let alone the whole of the nation. No, we activate the army and send in the troops against these traitors. To the vote....."

The vote went through with only three against and the meeting broke up. The Governor, gesturing to the Defence Secretary, was pulled aside by the Foreign Secretary.

"Connie, we recieved this message through diplomatic channels. We need a response, now..."

We officially condemn the Ollielandish regime in its brutal suppression of free will and human nature. Justice has not been served for the unjust assassination of a legitimate politician, and the protesting is the natural result. Why not serve proper justice, quell the protests, and simply call it a day, we ask?

However we have learned that over the years, negoiation with left-wing regimes has resulted in little or no progress toward actual peace and stability. This was proven with the Soviet bloc of the 20th century, and has proven time and again in the new world. If all troops are not pulled out of these regions in question and solved peacefully, we will be forced to lay all options on the table, including military intervention.

The people present shifted uncomfortable, looking to the Governor.

"No, Oliver, not yet. We wait to see the outcome of Operation Damocles first. Increase naval patrols to the south, but no further mobilisation. We don't give anyone an excuse. Meeting adjourned"

General Gyapong read the orders, perhaps for the hundreth time, as he entered the command post he had set up at the far end of La Porchette International Airport. Present were the divisional CPF commander, 3 Chief Superintendents, both Foreign Legion Battalion commanders, 2 Majors, and the army divisional, regimental and battalion commanders, 2 Lieutenant Generals, 6 Colonels and 24 Majors. Morning coffee was being handed round by an army Corporal, gratefully recieved by the Police Officers who had been very busy for the last week.

"Well, gentleman, this is the plan. You've seen the map, and you know what we have to do. However, our timetable has been moved forward. We move at dawn, approximately 20 hours. I have your areas of responsibilty here and your objectives. I want preliminary plans of attack within 4 hours gents. Thats it."

Colonial Police Force - Your forces are to split into two and enter the battle area along the 2nd Trans Jungle Highway from east and west when called by the army. Your objective is to take over from army units in the pacification of the area and arrest rebel leaders.

Foreign Legion - Your Objective is Nouveon Airfield. You will capture this area with a combined airborne and para assault ensuring a supply and reinforcement route for the rest of our forces.

At 430am they took off simultaneously from La Prochette. The planes would arrive first, followed by the helos and then the airships. 204 troop helos, 440 combat helos, 136 transport aircraft and 64 airships took off, carrying 13,000 troops and 45 armoured vehicles. The Colonial Police took up positions 30 miles east and west of Ganton, 36,000 Colonial policemen in 6000 police vehicle, 360 helos and 50 patrol boats. General Gyapong was in the lead command zepp, monitorring events. The first battle reports would come in in about an hour..........

The massive, pre-built examplary urban institution had been built nearly twelve years ago by the same designers of the Wustesturm and Gefang projects. IT had cost some four trillion to erect from scratch, but when it was completed, it was a massive urban environment covering some sixty square miles and housing roughly twenty-five million citizens. The denizens of this city had individual living units, clean, safe, and secure. Secure indeed. The mindset of many Bumsians, and especially the leadership, had envisioned Lame Bums becoming the new Sparta, and it had shown in the city's design...no less than twenty thousand unique defensive posts ringed and dotted the city's buildings, ranging from massive railgun turrets to SAM sites to missile launchers of various varieties...and bringing something back from medieval vintage...a curtain wall around the entire city...more symbolism than anything else.

Within the city, the kingpiece of it all was the Bayzayn (Yiddish for "presence") tower, which had been named in a loose parody of a very similar tower on a far-off city called Osea...but that's another story for another time. It was half a mile high, and was covered in gold leaf...to make it appeare golden. And it had more defences on it...but again, another story. In it, the leadership contined to hold their meetings. And, currently, they were watching the news.

"AHHHH!!" screamed the reporter was he was cut off and tackled by a fascist revolutioniary, who got the reporter out of the line of fire, and began firing wildly into the air.

"Ahh! Help me! Help me!" screamed the reporter as an Ollish tank rolled into the building, crushing the man's leg into the ground. The tank then unceremoniously began grinding into that particular spot by turning circles in the same space. The reporter's guts and brains spilled out, some of which sprayed onto the camera-

BATTLE REPORTS

GANTON - Successfull para landings on both side of the bridge by 4,800 paratroopers took the bridge in less than an hour. Some superficial damage was done to the bridge by fascist rebels but it should be operational in a day or two. The town itself was taken in 3 hours by airborne troopers. Approximately 200 rebels held out at the town pollice station but eventually surrendered to overwhelming odds. Total casualties - 4 soldiers, 28 rebels

FERREIRA - Airborne troops attacked rebel positions at the town hall and police station. After several hours approximately 250 rebels surrendered. Total casualties - 8 soldiers, 32 rebels

SULLYVILLE - Airborne troops found the town practically deserted. No casualties

NOUVEON AIRFIELD - Foreign legionnaires encountered heavy resistance in a combined para and airborne assault. Approximately 300 rebels held the airfield and the control tower for up to 6 hours until assaulted by Foreign Legion attack choppers. Support units have now landed at the secured airfield. Total Casualties - 46 Legionnaires, 212 rebels

NOUVEON - Airborne troopers found this to be the centre of the rebel operation. It is believed that Gates and the rebel leaders are still held up at the Police Station. Other rebel positions in the town have been subdued, and Colonial Police Force personnel have taken over what has become a siege situation. Total casualties - 26 soldiers, 84 rebels
