If you enjoyed ether of those books/movies you should enjoy this. This RP takes place in, of course Africa. It takes place in modern times, and will have a lot of black-porters in it (has nothing to do with prejudice, that's just the story). The rich funder (who I control) of the expidition, who has yet to reveal the reason, is simply offering money to the RP'ers.

This RP could have ANYTHING in it, maybe super-natural, but probably not. The people will be carying a lot of guns with them, and may fight. Anyway, sign up your characters, the more the merrier, and this WILL be fun...and I have final say on all fights/encounters/deaths. No Godmodding, and please don't bicker. SIGN-UP!!! Can someone tell me what this rp is about exactly? I'm not sure; since I haven't heard of the books/movies that this is being based off of.

King Solomon's Mines is like an adventure tale to discover gold. Think Indiana Jones. And the Congo is about a group of researchers who are fighting man-killing apes in the Congo while in search of an ancient city.

Well "King Solomon's Mines" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Solomon's_Mines is a Victorian novel, the main character being Allan Quatermain. It involved a safari in search of the fabulous mines, that would make everyone rich. The most recent character that I know of to play Allan Quatermain, is Sean Connery in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen http://www.foxhome.com/lxg/, a story that involves a super-hero group of Victorian novelst characters, the critics trashed I personally enjoyed it, but back to what I was saying.

Congo http://german.imdb.com/title/tt0112715/ is also a safari story, set in Africa, King Solomon's Mines appear along the way. The movie based on a book by Michael Chrichton who also wrote Timeline, The Andromina Strain, Sphere, Jurassic Park, and The Lost World: Jurrassic Park all adapted into movies. Congo, unlike King Slomen's Mines is set in a modern era.

If you want to be a cultist, be a cultist, but just make sure it fits in with the story. So try to be an African tribal cultist, just so it doesn't look like you're coming in from the RP next door.

It's naturally our host's desicion to decide things like these, but if a friendly piece of advice is allowed I'd say we should stop the recruiting about now. Too many players usually just ruin the RP, better to keep it as compact as possible. I'd say with our two newest players we have about enough. But that's naturally just my eprsonal opinion.

Just like the one considering the nature of this whole RP. I strongly suggest we keep it in RL world. NS World is a completely different place and reality, and having some people from RL World and some from NS makes things both silly and unpractical.

The more the merrier in this safari. With it closed this late, it improves your characters chances of surviving.

We're in the middle of Sudan at the moment, the idea of hiring more men at this point doesn't seem to fit the plot too well I'm afraid... but then again, that's just me. And the plot isn't mine.

And I'm not from US, so my opinions wouldn't count anyways :(

Yes, that is best. How about some criminal we meet on the way, who takes to running with us. Or a tribal cheiftan is good.

Oh, I'm fully aware of that and by no means disagree with you in this one. It's just a bit sad, that's all.

Parkus, I suggest against setting such time deadlines for the RP. Let the story run at its own flow, don't run this like a D&D Dungeon Master. We all have our own schedules, so let the RP just go where it wants to at its own pace. Otherwise, people get left behind and/or lost, and the RP quality tends to be less-than-good, due to the "MUST POST!!!!111!1" rush.

Parkus, I appreciate what you said in the IC thread, but I don't want to cause any inconveniece with my schedules. We can't really RP it too far/well with just three attendants that we have now, without making it really silly. Everyone has to have an opportunity to respond... So really.
Let's just do it as we'd do it normally, without any special arrangement for me, and I'll just stay here as long as possible without making myself completely zombie tomorrow's morning lessons :rolleyes:

Why is this RP dying?

No idea. But from what I've noticed, that if it picks up uberfast then it falls short very quickly. It's not dying, it's simply not running a marathon anymore, and it needs some time to catch it's breath.

I'll post when I can, but trust me -- a slower pace does not equate to death. With a slower pace, more people can RP as they have time to respond, and people can put much more effort into posting. Plus, it allows for things like what just happened in my part and can't post a day or so.

Don't worry about it, trust me.
