Sounds an awful lot like the Terminator to me...either way, Super-power doesn't have sentient humanoid robotic beings (our closest thing to AI is the ALICE OS we have in one of our expermiental weapons)

Tigerlanian President/Dictator for Life/Assorted Other Titles You May Hold,
GLACORP can easily supply your demands in this case, we have several models of sentient robots which can meet all of these conditions and even exceede them in a few cases.
Currently our best-selling model is the IAC (Independant Artificial Combatant) Mark XI. It is of roughly human dimensions and can support loads of up to one half ton. It does require maintanance, but we feel that disregarding this part of your specifications may be in your own best interest, as a self-charging zero-maintenance droid is unheard of (OOC: IE: Kinda godmoddish, IMO).
The Mark XI is capable of performing most of its own maintenance with the assistance of other Mark XI's. It can operate totaly independant of orders (it will act on the last received command unless otherwise specified).
They are currently avalible for G550,000 per unit unequipped and G850,000 per unit with full field kit.
We can provide modified programing that will enable formation marching for an additional G10,000 one time charge.
If this does not interest you, we can supply inferior, but cheaper, models for less, or better, but more expensive models.
Thank you for your time.

Attack of Seirou Academy
The sun began to set on the Seirou academy, its sandstone walls turning red in the light. Far above a single voice waited for dark to fall, its target set soon it would begin.
As the twilight set in the voice stepped off its orbital plate and plummeted toward the earth, its descent slowed by the various apparatus of the many remote guns it had taken with it. Over the great distance their efforts slowed him to the extent that by the time he finally landed it was quite a gentle one, and night had fully set in. he applied a tiny electrical charge to the shiny metal of his skin and it immediately dulled to a matt hue, a slight increase in that charge and his body became black. Variations in the charge over his body allowed the change of his skin from black to silver to ripple like stems of the corn field he found himself in. The field extended all the way up to the walls of the Academy. The Walls were tall enough, and the hill steep enough as to make a line of sight from the ground to the Academy building itself impossible so his ten remote guns fanned out, quickly getting into position ringing the building. From each of their ten points the guns began to emit an eerie high pitched keening noise which made pinpointing the location of any noise in particular far more difficult. Though this would give away their presence for the moment it would be very useful later.
The guns noises did not go un-noticed within the Academy and lights began to switch on inside, spotlights were illuminated along the walls and the voices of the centers many guards could be heard calling to one another. Though none, it appeared could make out what was making the noise, nor see the guns as they crouched low to the ground on their spindly tripod legs. One of the guards took a pot shot out into the corn, and it was time to step up the barrage
In order to draw out and/or disable more of the guards the guns fired several limpet like pellets onto the walls. The noise of their ejection made almost impossible to pin down by the disorientating whine that echoed through the air. The limpet attachments stepped up the audio assault adding in their own voices. These however emitted a variety of noises well beyond the range of human ears, carefully calculated to help usher on a heightened state of disorientation and nausea in the listener. Those with the forethought and equipment to shut out the sound were not spared however, tiny however globes launched from the back compartments of the guns spun rapidly around rapidly flashing different colors inducing sickness in even the most prepared of guard.
Now was the time to strike, before any guards recovered or additional protection was brought to stave of this particular onslaught. As one the Guns and the voice moved forward, using minimal force as the approached the guns picked off defenders. Though many attempted to brave their nausea to shoot back it was hard for them to even determine the location of the assailants. Among the ensuing chaos no-one of them noticed the Voice leap clear over the wall rushing past like the wind.
As soon as the voiced has dropped down into one small courtyard the guns drew back, whilst his mission was conducted they would continue to simulate an unsuccessful assault. There were some 15 heavily armed guards in the courtyard which appeared to be serving as some kind of kitchen garden but five had been felled with the voices whip before any of them noticed his presence at all. The whip tore through the flesh of anyone unlucky enough to get into its path. Woven from a metal alloy not dissimilar from spiders silk it was far stronger than steel and as such was almost invisibly thin making it deadly when it struck. By the time the remaining guards had raised their guns to fire the voice was already ducked behind a pillar. As shots pounded into the stone it increased the charge across its skin dramatically, its skin turning pitch it leapt from pillar to pillar. It grabbed hold of one guard using him as a human shield. The electrical charge spasming the mans muscles and firing his automatic gun into six of his unlucky compatriots. Ducking back behind a pillar before his human shield was ripped to shreds the voices composite eyes began to work overtime. It analyzed the entire electromagnetic spectrum in an attempt to locate the rest of its immediate enemies, though most useful to it was its sonar which pinpointed the movements of his foes and laid bare their simple machinations. He allowed them to creep closer to his location whilst he stealthily climbed up the pillar. And as two of them timidly peered round the pillar it struck down with one spiked foot, quickly piercing the helmets and craniums of both. The remaining two back off firing at the pillar but the voice simply swung round the top to face them and fired two bolts through each chest.
The gunfire would undoubtedly quickly draw additional support so the Voice quickly heaved the bodies over the wall and carried on through to the main building. Quick work was made of any guards he did encounter, his reactions were far faster than any of their and he didn’t even have to fire a shot the silent whip was more than sufficient. Eventually after almost five minutes of breakneck progress through libraries and study halls he approached the doors to the main study, and his target.
By sweeping his hands just over the face of the door he could make out the electrical devices contained within, their slight electromagnetic emissions both changing the color of his skin and visible to his eyes. Some carefully stored acids made quick work of the hinges and the voice scrambled up and perched above the door letting the doors themselves drop away.
Even before the hit the ground a barrage of bullets and projectiles spewed forth from the room but after some little time stopped. As this happened the Voice began to emit a thick smoke from its joints, with drawing a long thin rapier like sword from its back it slipped down into the haze of smoke that had formed below the in the doorway. Though the movement was almost imperceptible it was noticed by the inhabitant of the room and as the voice was moving away several bullets made dents in its left shoulder and upper arm. Trailing smoke behind it the voice ran round the walls of the room almost running horizontal across the face of the walls circling its prey, who held a large and very lethal automatic weapon. The prey obviously knew how to deal with circling like that and a single bullet shattered into one of the voices composite eyes. Immediately it dugs its feet into the wall leaving a deep star in the stone and launched itself at the prey as he was still turning firing at where the voice would have been had it continued it maneuver.
The rapier cut straight through the preys neck and ripped upward, bending perceptibly as it began to tear though the skull, an eye slide in two as the rapier left the doomed males head.
The voice has left with 2 minutes, tearing through the halls, the thick smokes it still exuded now containing a potent neurotoxin effectively killing any potential obstacles. The remote guns, the 7 that remained focused their barrage now on the part of the wall that the voice would soon leap over tearing through any potential opposition. As the voice raced away the guns dragged with them their fallen counterparts, and as soon as they were far enough away they began their ascent back to the plate. Their target achieved.

Very well, we can provide a custom model specifically tailored to your needs as a customer of GLACORP.
The TGRL Mark I will be put into development as soon as specifications are completed. GLACORP is authorizing a run of 100 sample units for testing and evaluation, once you provide the specifications you wish us to work with.
For now, we require information on budget limitations, weight and dimensions, requested weapons loadout, types of weapons it will be using, environmental range specifications (what sort of environment it will be expected to operate in), specific battlefield environments (urban, swamp, etc. etc.), and anything else you can think of would be most helpful in the designing of this weapons system.
The 100 sample units will be provided free of charge as a courtesy service of GLACORP.

No, but battle droids that use melee weapons as a primary mode of attack are a fucking stupid idea.
The Emperor Fenix
28-05-2006, 02:36
At what point was that specified as their primary method of attack ? It was merely the most apropriate under the circumstances, not only does each droid control ten advanced mobile gun emplacements but they are able to wield any weapon usable by humans. Given their superior strength they are able to use a range of weapons greater than that used by an ordinary troop.

--In Unrelated News--
Zethathrin Industries, a textiles company in New Scotia have just released this quarters financial reports, and one thing struck analysts as odd. Though the company is known for its often unusual market strategy many spotted that this year the company has donated aproximately ten billion dollars to charities in the region, most of these donations have been received anonymously so a full list of charities benifitting is not forthcoming but if this is some kind of goodwill brand strengthening endevour by Zethathrin they are going about it in a very odd fashion.
Unfortunately no spokesman for the company was available to talk the The Herald when we called, but if anyone does get an interview with Mr Charaphr the founded and president we will be the ones to do it.
