The people of ancient times raised seven great wonders, triumphs of architecture, engineering, and human labor. Symbols of the success of civilization, and representatives of the cultures that built them at their pinnacle of strength. But thanks to neglect, fire, earthquake, and human destructiveness, six of these wonders exist as mere ruins. The only wonder still standing are the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, and they survive severly delapidated.

The Kreynorian Wonder Restoration Agency has been founded to rebuild the ancient Wonders of the World, and has been granted $12 billion by the Kreynorian government to carry out this mission.

The Kreynorian Wonder Restoration Agency is lobbying for permission from the governments of the Commonwealth of Hirgizstan, Union of Roman States, Realm of Cotland, and Ottoman Khaif for permission to begin its task within their territories.

The United States of Eppstonia commends you on your efforts to restore the seven wonders, and hereby donates an additional $8 billion towards their restoration.

Eppstonia has donated turned the $8 billion over to Hannesteria for immediate donation to the restoration efforts of the seven wonders.

OOC: Hirg, since you own Rhodes Island I think you 'own' the lost Colossus of Rhodes.

The Federation applauds the efforts of the Divine Empire of Kreynoria and will talk Visara into selling marble, iron, gold, and copper to the project leaders at reduced prices for this worthy cause.

OOC: I though the Colossus of Rhodes was elsewhere, did they not break it up once they removed the head? If I do have something I'll co-operation A-SAP, its an excellent project, I just want to be sure I have a wonder in my possession that I can help restore.

OOC: Well you definetly own the place (Rhodes) but the statue itself was dismembered and scatterred in 650's when the Arabs captured Rhodes and pieces were sold to random travellers.

However Nicolaos the Great owned Greece before and said all of the ancient cities and wonders in his territory (Greece+Turkey) were still in existence (although don't know how he rebuilt the Colussus after earthquake dropped it in 224) But that's what he said, we can go by E2 or RL descriptions of events.

OOC: NTG's seems ok. I guess I have a broken Colossus statue somewhere. I will sign up to this project when I get a chance to post something longer.

While normally a privelege of October Alliance nations to pass through, Kreynoria requests that the members of the Agency be allowed passage through the canal. The vessels passing through may be freely searched at the discretion of Cottish forces. We assure you that no armaments nor military personnel will pass through the canal. We hope you will receive our request and consider the choice carefully. Thank you.

Well I suppose the Temples of Zeus and Artemis and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus can receive repairs/restoration if they are still standing. Since they have passed into the control of OK, are they still temples of the Greek religion or are have they been converted into mosques or something?

The Temples of Zeus and Artemis, and Mausoleums are not converted into mosques...they are just left as is...so they just ruins or very old buildings...where Tourist from....Romew can take pics of...or something..and if anyone is going to ever restored it....its going to me or whoever pays me for the rights to rebuild them..

The Government has recently learned of Kreynoria's plan to use a a Wonder Restoration Agency to help restore the ancient wonders of the world.

The COH would like to invite the Agency to Greece to help both the Department of Tourism and the Department of Culture in their undertaking to restore the historical Mediterranean Harbor at Rhodes, including a full restoration of the Colossus.

Some of the parts from the Colossus itself have been fully preserved in Museums and other places throughout Hirgizstanian Greece. Most of the parts were found scattered on Rhodes and sunken in the Harbour, where the torso and head currently lie.

An undertaking to restore the harbor would be costly and funds would be mostly provided by the COH, but we wish to have the full co-operation of the Agency so the wonder can be fully restored.

"The Realm maintains its policy of maintaining a closed Suez Canal due to the imminent risk of hostilities in the Mediterranian. The Suez Canal is a waterway of utmost strategic importance to the Realm, and as such we cannot allow for any unauthorized vessels to pass, despite the assurances that they will pose no threat to the Realm or its security. Sadly, we must deny the request for passage.

"However, we recognize the great importance of the project, and are willing to compromise. We will allow the members, equipment, materials and artifacts of the' Kreynorian Wonder Restoration Agency' to pass through the Suez Canal if they are aboard Cottish-registered vessels.

"We understand if the 'Kreynorian Wonder Restoration Agency' does not want Cottish vessels to carry the loads all the way, and are willing to allow Kreynorian vessels the right to transfer the personell, equipment, materiell, et cetra onto Cottish vessels in ports a reasonably distance from the Canal. If you agree to this, we can issue the orders to the Suez Canal Administration Board within the end of the day. The fees of transfer shall remain the normal price ($10,000 per 100 tons of shipping).
