The Tides of Time are everchanging (ATTN Balrogga/Chronosia/CW/Etc)

OOC: This takes place after ToT, with the Kythons rather handily annihilating the remainder of the Caleshan as a result of Sojun's hasty retreat following the destruction of Terivine. The Nations mentioned in the title are specifically considered in this particular instance.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Father?

I KNOW WHAT YOU SEEK TO ASK, MY SON. IT IS UNDERSTOOD NOW THAT MY INTELLIGENCE WAS FAULTY, AND THAT I WAS THE INSTRUMENT OF THE UNTIMELY END OF MANY LIVES.

Do you understand the ramifications your actions have for the Godulan people? They revered you. You were the embodiment of all that they held dear, and you stabbed them in the back, father.

I DID WHAT I THOUGHT NECESSARY AT THE TIME. UNDERSTAND THAT ALL THOSE WHO MET THEIR END HAVE BEEN GIVEN THEIR JUST REWARD FOR THE LIFE THEY LIVED.

Is that how you rationalize it, father? Is that how you tell yourself that what you did is really not so bad? Is it really that easy?

YOU MUST UNDERSTAND--

Father, I am fairly certain that I cannot understand anymore. What you have done... I cannot be certain what is right anymore. I do not believe that I can no longer respect your guidance. Goodbye father. I will consider your last words.

Kelvin awoke from his slumber and calmly sat up in his bed. Movement to his right called his attention momentarily as Horizon shifted in her fitful rest. Even these few weeks after the destruction of one of the Godulans' shining gems, Kelvin's wife could still only cry herself to sleep, be it in grief or confusion. It mattered not, for every tear down her cheek was yet another pang of guilt that Kelvin would have to endure for the actions of his father.

The whole situation had ruptured the Godulans' entire moral compass, to say nothing of claiming the lifes of someone that somebody knew in some form or the other, making certain that every single Godulan citizen felt the bite of Terivine's loss.

Without making another shift in their bed, Kelvin got to his feet and left the room. Baron Skye might not be seeing many petitioners at this time of night, but he would see him...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Greetings, Adjutant General Majestatus," Baron Skye said from the dark depths of the command room. The only source of illumination in the shadows was that of the primary viewcreen, detailing schematics and other information to the blurry shapes in the room. Even in the darkness, Kelvin could make out the shapes of Skye, Xenith, and Maximillian, turned towards the young general with gazes tangible even in this darkness. "Does the Son of Sojun bear tidings from his divine progenitor?"

"Yes. It is fortunate that he did not decide to wait longer, it seems that his battle against Orion took a great amount of effort on his part."

"Do tell," Skye replied.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skye nodded slightly as Kelvin finished, and shifted his grip on his cane as he replied. "I agree with your assessment, Adjutant General, though I must admit I find myself somewhat surprised to hear such come even from one such as yourself. I shall tell you now that the whole thing has caused something of an epiphany for us as well."

Skye pointed at the large viewscreen, and the schematics on display. "If anything, this entire situation has cemented and amplified the Godulan hatred of all those entities who seek to push their will upon others, in much the same way that Sojun attempted to bully us into submission. Though the situation was a trauma for all, it is also having some strange side-effects.

"Take note on the right. What does that look like to you?"

Kelvin turned to the schematic Skye indicated, and raised an eyebrow. "It would appear to be a Kython-Human Hybrid."

"Indeed. It would seem that the Godulan populace at large seems enamored to the spirit of wrath and righteous vengeance that we built the Kythons to embody. As we speak, the very concept of a possible merge between the Godulan forces at large and the Kython scourge is very swiftly gaining speed and I have no intention whatsoever of saying no to the move. The sheer power of the Kython scourge was made to lay the Imperials low single-handedly. Allowing this would enable an evolutionary speed at least an order of magnitude greater than before.

"Take note on the left."

"Entropic? But only Sojun could use such weaponry!"

"Oh, we are not capable of duplicating the Entropic Ward of the Aeon Lances, but the lesser Caleshan utilized direct technological version that displayed remarkable effectiveness. We are also looking into incorporating the Entropic Annihilation capacity into Shardbolts.

"And finally, note the center... the crown jewel of what we intend to mark our apotheosis..."

Kelvin studied the central panel for a long time, failing to understand what the schematic displayed. Slowly, however, realization dawned, and his jaw dropped.

"Guiding Light..."

"The Aeon Lances we captured had a healthy number of workable torpedos left in their arsenal. Reverse engineering is in progress as we speak. We suspect that this alone will be enough to send all who seek to oppose the Kython Scourge into total disarray."

Kelvin stopped and looked at Skye for a moment. "Why so much talk of the Kythons?"

"You might not have learned of this due to the leave you were given after the incident, but when I mentioned that the Godulans are rather focused on merging themselves with the Kython scourge... I speak of the notion that the entire Godulan Starnavy is on the verge of obsolescence, and the entirety of the military seems very adamant on this course. Save for the M'Lekk'Torr... we suspect that your efficacy is far from dependent on any artificial machinations."

"So," Kelvin replied, "Is that how we respond? By becoming some angel of vengeance against all who seek to force their will against others?"

"Oh no... I will not broach the details now, so I shall simply say that your presence is requested at the speech I intend to give in the evening. Nonetheless, we have sent word to our Balroggan allies and our unexpected friends from Chronosian territory. They should be sending envoys.

"Rest assured, youthful one, there are going to be some remarkable changes taking place around here..."

The Battleship appeared without warning. The sleek black craft appeared to be a creature of spite and vengeance. The silent wraith descended to the surface near the century old base Balrogga had occupied during the creation of the Kythons. As it approached the facility, the ship shattered into a cloud of ebony death. The cloud of Kythons swarmed around before landing through the aperture that opened in the building roof.

Minutes later, a message was relayed to Skye:

We have received your message and Nhur-Galladu himself will attend your meeting. Prepare the way and he will gate himself directly to your chambers at the appointed hour.

Grand Admiral Ga’Ton

EDIT:

Whenever you are ready, you can postthe arrival of Nhur-Galladu. You have the specifics already...

Scything through the fabric of reality, the immense vessel; the Sword of Arioch translated into the materium, a gleaming testament to the power and black skill of the Imperium; the flagship of the Emperor himself. Remiel had come forth, emergent from the glory of battle.

We have come; you requested us and we have graced you with our presence. Now, we wish to know where we might go and what draws us here. It is uncommon for Godulans to request the soverign presence of the Imperium...

Your Esteemed leader honors us with the gift of his presence. We shall make preparations immediately.

Baron Aeraeon Skye

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Say," Maximillian began as the center of the room was cleared of clutter, "You seen the marines lately? Hell, everybody, now that I think about it. Seems to be some sort of ceremonial tattooing going on or something."

"The tear patterns?" Xenith replied, "Its spreading like wildfire, I saw. One thing you can say for the Godulans, they're all of a similar mind. Persuade one and you have 'em all. Its a reaction to the whole Terivine thing. Black tear patterns running down each side of their face. Interesting design actually."

"I saw. Damn. I was hoping that my own facial tattoos had caught on."

Xenith took one look at Maximillian and snorted. Maxie gave Xenith the evil eye in return and moved away.

Baron Skye looked over the proceedings then raised his hand for silence. "Here he comes. Try not to move."

The manifestation of Nhur-Galladu was a rather sudden affair. A pop and a whoosh of disrupted air as a section of the room became energized with psionic energy. Indeed, the appearance of a being of pure psionic energy within the room caused quite a few papers to fly about before eventually drifting to the ground.

"Awww nawwww!" Maximillian blurted. "Not another one!"

As suddenly as the Balroggan emperor had fully materialized in the room, a streak of psionic energy lanced out from him and Skye at the same time, meeting in the middle between them and shimmering slightly. A not-very-subtle tug-of-war commenced between the two of them, moving in one direction, then the other, then eventually restabilizing at the dead center before popping out of existence and sending more papers flying.

"Amazing," Skye commented after the little contest concluded. "You are as powerful as I am that is simple to see, but I must say the precision of your counter caught me off guard. I may learn something yet from this universe..."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the Chronosians:

Indeed. Time has a distinct penchant for altering even the most iron of situations, and your assistance at Terivine, while unexpected, was not un-appreciated. Your aid in our time of need has caused us to... consider an alteration of our stance...

The landing coordinates are the same as last time. I shall send an escort to meet you on the landing pad.

OOC: I'll let you RP Remiel's arrival in the conference chamber. Its pretty much the exact same thing as last time. With a substantially larger and more respectful/complimentary escort.
Balrogga

“Yes, you have some strength behind you but I am more familiar with raw energy manipulation. Technique and Strength both are needed to make a weapon useful.”

The elderly man hobbled over to the seat reserved for him without asking which one it was and sat down.

“When is Lord Remiel supposed to arrive?” I haven’t spoke to him since that strange party he threw a little while back. It was fun watching everyone throw themselves at his feet. We laughed about it when we spoke. You should have been there, it was a riot.”
Godular
21-05-2006, 10:40
"Indeed," Skye commented in response to the emperor's reply. "My skills rest more in matter manipulation and enhancement than in direct energy control. Even so, my... Ill-gotten knowledge has often served me well in understanding the other facets.

"Remiel is on his way down now. I arranged for a somewhat more... respectful escort. I did hear about that gala he threw some time ago. Droves upon droves of supplicants and bootlicks. The very idea of a single man causing such reactions from people by mere presence alone both amuses and disgusts me."

"Not me!" Xenith blurted from the back. "Amusement and Nostalgia over here!"

"In any event, I find myself saddened that so many in this universe behave like so much sheep to be shorn and slaughtered. The people of this universe should be stronger... more thick skinned... more... tenacious. More willing to fight for their own beliefs than kowtow to others and delude themselves into the belief of strength by simple association.

"At the same time, though... it gives me hope... for what I know now must be done is made easier by those very individuals who cower and beg before those they see as their better."
Chronosia
21-05-2006, 22:42
"I couldn't agree more." A figure materialised; a whirling cacophany of warp energy disgorging the tall, beautiful form of the true Lord of Chaos. His reign had come like a firestorm; a system dieing, his father slaughtered by his own hand, all to seize at true and lasting power. "The people of this universe cower and bicker amongst themselves like children. Even now I'm forced to use my precious Legions to teach the Seaquestrian dogs a lesson."

He turned, bowing lightly to Nhur-Galladu. "Ah, friend. It has been some time since our last meeting. The conference did prove entertaining; but some good, at least, was fathomed from it."

He moved his attentions back to the Godulans "Forgive me the manner of my entry; but I thought it better to forego formality; and have us proceed to the matters at hand. There is, I am sure, much to be discussed; and I would not wish to set that back by bowing or curtseying the wrong way" A smile crossed his lips, almost amused, perhaps even mocking.
Godular
21-05-2006, 23:04
Skye closed his eyes for a moment to send a telepathic message to the escort outside, telling them that the Chronosian Leader had decided to teleport down and forego the formal proceedings. He opened his eyes after he was done and continued.

He then smirked slightly. "The mental image of a Gendarme performing any maneuver even loosely related to a bow strikes me as inherently ludicrous. No, they planned a simple salute. Unlike those other sycophantic pawns we give respect when it is due. You assisted us in our time of need, going against preconceptions on both sides of our petty squabble. That alone earned you the escort the first time, that and our own trepidation of course. Your assistance proved invaluable during the battle, despite how it... ended. Know now that we see you not as enemies but as fellow warriors... and we note further that perhaps our own outlook on foreign affairs may have been flawed. The rectification of this discrepancy puts us in the rather awkward position of entertaining thoughts of collusion with those whom we previously considered genocidal maniacs and staunch foes. Time alters all as the case would be, from the stoutest mountains to the most stalwart perspectives. As they say, the only constant is change. Would you not agree?"
Chronosia
21-05-2006, 23:10
"Indeed. One can never know what the next day will bring. You called for aid, and we had an issue to settle with the long ago bloodline of Sojun; one of whom offended, upon a time, imperial honor. Such insults have been wiped clean and we are forced to view you in a truer light. You are not the foes we would have held you as being; instead; you fight with honor and determination; not trickery, deceit and cowardice.

I must say; I am impressed."
Godular
22-05-2006, 00:15
"Oh, you will find we still utilize trickery and deceit. The method of attack is as important as the strength of the attack, if not more so. We are more tenacious than most, though our penchant for focusing more on tactical expediency and feint maneuvers does earn us the occasional pointed label of cowardice. Such often ends with those leveling the appelation limping home.

"As for the Son of Sojun's activities, such things took place before my tenure began." Skye turned towards Kelvin who even now sent Remiel a confused look. "Though from what we gather, were not Kelvin's transgressions inflicted not upon you but upon a Chronosian fugitive? I apologize if I am mistaken in the thinking that the individual known as 'Chronos' was not held in esteem by you and your ilk, but my understanding is that you and your comrades share a significant distaste for force users on either 'side'."

OOC: Looks like a good three, I will keep an eye on it to see how it develops.
Chronosia
22-05-2006, 00:29
"The nature of Chronos' state of grace and favor are...Ever changing. Indeed I intended him to be a mighty instrument of revenge. His former lover is a thorn in so many sides; that the bloodline must be guarded by one who is of our blood. I may not favor his powers; but I am not as foolish as my father to so easily cast aside pawns.

We have our own personal distastes, true enough; the force is hugely insignificant compared to the glories of the Warp. Our brother shall understand this once he serves his purpose; but until then, restored from mindless life as he is; he remains my kin and my concern. Thus, is an old wound avenged."
Godular
22-05-2006, 01:07
"Ah so," Skye acknowledged. "Dare I say that the Son of Sojun has matured immeasurably since the days of his youth. He is somewhat more... tactful in his operations.

"Nevertheless, such things are water under the bridge. There is much to discuss, particularly with how things have changed and how we seek to... remake the universe, so to speak?"
Chronosia
22-05-2006, 01:20
"I'm sure he has; grown wise enough, we would hope, to keep out of the Imperium's hair. As to the shape of the universe; you must surely know how we seek to change its form. The universe is devoid of true power. Those who claim power are too afraid to wield it as it should be, and the rest; inhabited by pretentious fools who believe they have more power than they can muster.

Both stand in the way of the true path of power; the true plan for the Universe. What are your views upon it?"
Godular
22-05-2006, 13:50
"Ours is the hope that we can strengthen the universe by removing the weaker elements and those who would seek to bar our way. Strength comes only through adversity, and the instillation of a perfect discord will enable those who truly deserve to survive to do so.

"Our intent is to bring a cleansing flame, a purifying flame, a shattering flame, to change the universe for the better. Some will have to die, such is the way of things, for it is only natural for those unfit to survive to be removed from the universe, and what is more chaotic than nature? What is more beautiful? What is more inevitable?

"Ours is the intent to return the universe to its fundamental state. To restore the inherent balance of the world around us that has been suppressed, no... corrupted by those who seek to instill 'order' and 'safety' in the universe. Why should weaklings be coddled by such things? Why should those who deserve to be removed find respite?

"No. Such is against the way of nature and of this beautiful discord. Those with power must use it to its fullest extents, and those without must be subsumed by those who do."
Chronosia
22-05-2006, 13:56
"And so it shall. The power of Chaos, the raw force of entropy shall strike the universe with a pitiless fury that existence has never known. We are the harbingers of a new and glorious age; a purer age. Let us never doubt, that we are gods amongst men; come to set right the injustices; balances the scales. There must be death and madness and darkness before the glorious light can come.

We cannot shrink from this...Holy duty"
Godular
22-05-2006, 15:31
"Indeed," Skye replied, noting that Maximillian and Xenith, for the first time in recent memory, now sported immense and very honest grins. Kelvin however seemed uncertain and Skye did not begrudge him such. The young man's own moral foundation had been shaken to the core, as had the rest of the Godulan populace. What they wanted was revenge, not against those who had perpetrated the heinous act committed against them, but against the principles that had caused such an atrocity.

This was the way.

"Such is not a path forgiving to the weak. Ours is an inquisition as it is a liberation. As much a plague as it is a remedy. Ours is... the solution."
Balrogga
22-05-2006, 15:51
“I agree, I see nations beating themselves bloody trying to make themselves believe they are at the top of the dung heap. The sad thing is they just don’t get it that shit is still shit no matter if you are at the top or bottom of a pile. Either way, you smell like shit.”

Nhur-Galladu paused for a dramatic moment.

“But seriously, so many nations out there are so into themselves that they cannot see where the general populations are heading. Boredom will breed mindlessness. All you have to do is look at the one mentioned earlier. SeaQuest was so into himself that they actually thought they would get away with stealing a moon from their landlord. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad.”

It seems we are being flooded with so many minor warlords and two-bit power-players that really have no idea what the hell they are doing or their true place in the cosmos. Someone really needs to take control of the situation and exert some influence before things completely get out of hand.”

“I know total anarchy is not desirable but this is just so, petty. There has to be something better.”
Godular
22-05-2006, 16:28
"Precisely," Skye replied. "A form of... anarchic purpose? One cannot seek to stop the floods of disorder, but such does not deny the possibility of controlling the directions of such waters."
Balrogga
22-05-2006, 17:54
"Flood control?"

Nhur-Galladu seemed amused.

"That would be one hell of a large levee."
Godular
22-05-2006, 18:29
"Not even a thing that daunting. A simple redirection in the path we wish to take. Indeed, manipulation of circumstance and perception with tricks and deception would enable us to strive to our goals with the aid of others. And as the Chronosians are so capable of doing... the wonderful thing is we may just be able to work it so that those we wish to do our bidding operate under the impression that it is under their own impetus."
Chronosia
23-05-2006, 14:16
"It shall be the Great Crusade; liberating and strengthening the galaxy through massive conflict. The reforging of the universe to our vision; our dream. There are, of course, forces at work that would doubtlessly stymie our best efforts. Alliances that exist; immense beasts, all working together for their own agendas. Our organisation should seek to undermine them at all costs"
Balrogga
23-05-2006, 19:27
"So how do you propose we accomplish this? If we are not part of said alliances or within their circle of power, we would not have enough influence to steer these alliances against each other. That is the best way to cause Chaos, making the giants beat each other into submission.”

“I know we can influence some of the nations and then browbeat a few others but what you are talking about might be beyond our scope. I know my Childer can influence some of the leaders but we need to make sure nothing can be traced back to us or not only will our efforts will come to naught, but we might have a lot of pissed off nations knocking upon our doors.”

“If that were to happen I know even banded together we could not stand against an assembly and would be forced into hiding. I know Godular can go into Inter-Dimensional Space and Chronosia can enter the Warp. I would still be acting as intermitterary between you because I can travel both.”

“Don’t get me wrong but I have always tried to fathom all angles of possibilities and I am not afraid of action. I agree the universe needs a fire lit underneath their collective asses but we don’t want to get burnt by those flames ourselves.”
Godular
23-05-2006, 19:55
"I agree," Skye replied thoughtfully. "Much though I hate to admit it, though we three are powerful, I suspect that our first priority will be towards expanding our power base and acquiring supporters, and I suspect all three of us understand that the initial processes will be somewhat slow. Even the most furious of wildfires has humble beginnings."
Balrogga
23-05-2006, 20:11
"We are but the initial spark. we have to let the winds of war fan the flames we start so we will be forgotten and the flames capture the attention."
Godular
24-05-2006, 06:30
Skye nodded slightly, then chuckled slightly to himself. "The key issue though, besides comparing our ideology to various elemental catastrophes, is how we intend to execute our will. We must consider where to start and how. Who do we befriend or challenge? How stringently do we wish to keep our presence, but not our activities, secret? These are the questions we must answer, or our flood will be but a trickle in the desert, and our wildfire but a simple lit match and just as long-lived.

"Requiring that our activities be noted and not us ourselves requires the use of sheep and lackeys. Who? Who would these individuals be?"

Skye turned to Remiel, "It is known that your compatriots are legion and powerful, but neither are they mere bootlicks. Would you seek to win them on this path?"
Kendari
24-05-2006, 07:24
OOC: Well, well, well... anarchy by force?

Interesting. I shall certainly have to keep a close eye on this...
Chronosia
24-05-2006, 14:06
"There are many amongst the Lords of Chaos who would gladly pledge their force behind this endeavor; there are, of course, others whom I could convince to our side. Some that we can corce; Chaos is not without its persuasions; not without its links and ties. There shall be anarchy enough to envelop entire galaxies"
Godular
25-05-2006, 20:01
"That is good," Skye replied, nodding. "Only one key thing to look into now, and that comes down to 'who do we execute first'? As I mentioned we will have to start small, to give us a chance to test ourselves but also to give the impression that our strength is somewhat less than it actually is. Our penchant for 'trickery and deception' at work, you see. When you are many, appear as few. When you are close, appear as far. Make them think there is nothing to worry about until the horde rams itself down their throats."
Balrogga
26-05-2006, 01:23
"Exactly. Never let the enemy know your True Strength, or anything else for that manner."

Nhur-Galladu looked at his two companions, letting the moment stretch on a little bit onlger.

"Who have you in mind? What are our parts? This first step is important or we might as well not even attempt this."
Godular
26-05-2006, 10:33
Baron Skye thought for a moment and then sighed slightly. "The primary issue is that I suspect we have differences in target priority. Doubtless both of you have notions on potential targets such as the ever-infuriating SeaQuestrians, who show a remarkable aptitude for making absolutely everyone into an enemy, including their allies. Or various upstarts roaming throughout space attempting to carve a suitable nook for themselves.

"However, I have a notion that may well render assistance to the cause, though I am uncertain as to whether Remiel would support the motion.

"You see, due to increasing belligerence on our own borders, and even a siege on a jointly owned world between me and... Coreworlds," Skye said the last word with a slight defensive shift away from Remiel, "It would seem that the Galactic Empire, in its neverending effort to dominate the galaxy would make not only a prime initial target, considering its present state of disarray, but I have no doubt that both of you would recognize the potential good reputation we may well be able to derive from them.

"I realize the Chronosians have had significant past ties to them, and are even now contemplating rejoining, but I find myself curious as to whether we might actually benefit from gaining a reputation as freedom fighters in order to cover up our actual nature of being somewhat more... indiscriminate?"

pop...

A calico cat? It was grinning! It bore an uneasy resemblance to something of yore. The memory was faint... Then the cat spoke:

“Will an eye on thou we keep shall.”

The grin was slow in fading from the cat. It was, as a matter of fact, the last thing to fade completely from this plane of Reality. The body had already began flickering even before he had spoken. It hung in the air before finally disappearing in a flash of light and sound.

We can assure you that the Empire's gaze can be turned from you; while we unite our efforts against more supple, weaker prey.

We can glory and victory abounding, if we take advantage of the element of surprise."

"Which begs the question, why did you fight for them? You executed its goals with the utmost of devotion, but it is everything which you and indeed all of us stand against. You were the empire's strength, you and your own allies. But you also followed the whims of the emperor without fail.

"You are Chaos. You are not a bootlick. You fought for them and got the scraps. Why do you still?"
Chronosia
01-06-2006, 19:05
"I don't. As I said, we are only nominally allied. Were it not for the return of Palpatine the Empire would be ashes and dust. We fought because it served our interests; power, influence, conquest. Blood was spilled, change and magic touched countless worlds; the plagues of Nurgle ravaged entire systems and the pleasure of it all overwhelmed but the mightiest of Slaanesh's champions.

We serve only ourselves, and the Gods; but sometimes, one must take a role, play a part, to attain a more glorious result."
Godular
01-06-2006, 19:15
"Why should Palpatine's presence have changed anything? You well had the capacity to raze the Galactic Empire to dust through the strength of your own arms. You sought to play a part but you, and I, and Nhur-Galladu all know that you had the power to decide your own part to play, free of external stimulus. Free of someone else telling you what to do.

"I tell you now that right now the Galactic Federation quite truthfully espouses our goals for the moment if only because they are so fractious. At any one time there is bickering and tomato flinging between any number of the constituent nations, a state of affairs the Godulans had no small part in promoting through our constant opposition to, amusingly enough, the SeaQuestrians.

"I say then that while we might be deadlocked on the notion of who to support or attack first by virtue of who we hold friendly relations with, I propose then that we make the decision respecting to secondary stimuli."
Chronosia
01-06-2006, 19:21
"The federation is a far more viable target; weak, divided. They cannot agree upon any single thing, we each know this. The good they pose is keeping the Empire distracted; but they cannot avoid stretching themselves thin; without the interference of any of our powers they shall soon burn each other out.

This is total war; a glorious and terrible war that shall lay low all before them; but the Empire is but one threat, a powerbase that we could oppose but only at great cost. The emergence of TRITON also poses a question of how we shall react. Other powers emerge to try and challenge those most dominant, but only through unification can we challenge the system."
Godular
01-06-2006, 19:38
"We are agreed on Triton, but I find our impressions of the GFFA different. They have acquired considerable power, and despite their constant bickering have the capacity to rather swiftly form up against opposition. In these ways I do agree with the assessment that we should simply wait for them to beat each other senseless before moving in on our own in either direction.

"However, I am afraid that there are several means that might force us into action before such a time. For instance, the Imperials have in their control at the present time a small but not insignificant number of Godulan vessels. It is a matter of national pride that no man, not even Palpatine, has been able to subvert Godulan vessels and get away with it. We intend to make the emperor pay for his arrogance and foolishness, if only to get our ships back. Though a secondary possibility exists that such might come to pass without us even having to 'enter' any kind of combat at all.

"Secondly," Skye turned to Nhur-Galladu, "I do believe that you have been conducting negotiations with the nation of Tigerlan to bring them into the fold? They are a smaller target but there is yet the offhand chance that they might draw notice. How would you react to such a circumstance?"

"It seems Tigerlan is being bullied by a number of larger nations and they seek to gain a degree of safety from The Empire.

There will be costs needed to be paid for this but in the long run, it will serve my own ambitions I think. Perhaps I can meld them into a great weapon. Only time will tell."

"But back to the discussion, I think the two great alliances should beat each other into submission. When this happens, there will be yet other alliances that will try to take advantage of their weakness. This will be a benifit we can also take advantage of. There is Triton, ESUS, AoN, and many others that could inadvertantly do us the favor of acting at the right time."

"I agree with you on that point, save for the Alliance of Naggeroth. I suspect that happenstances of late have caused that alliance to more or less fade away. Its power is negligible at best, and if intelligence serves, Remiel has engaged in diplomatic issues with the alliance's founder. I do not know how such turned out, though. Perhaps such could be utilized to our advantage at some point."

"Also, if I am not mistaken, are not you and Remiel both signatories of the TRITON alliance?"

"Yes, talks are currently going on."

When the look of confusion shown on their faces, Nhur-Galladu explained.

"At this moment I am maintaining a presence both here and at the TRITON meeting. The only difference is that avatar is wearing the image of Ga'Ton while the actual Admiral is busy elsewhere doing his duties."

Nhur-Galladu suddenly seemed to look off into empty space. He then returned his gaze to his companions.

"I think I have just detected a situation that can be manipulated which could bring the chaos of war into the galaxies."
