Mulungu Project: The Shaping of the African Economy: A TATO Undertaking

Destruction is the work of an afternoon; creation is the work of a lifetime.

For decades the continent of Africa had been smothered in a cover of stagnation and decay, withered by war, corruption, and unfit economic policies. The dead nations of Zeeeland, New Jyria, and Celtayoshi had either ruthlessly exploited their territories or left the economy idle and decay. It was not until the arrival of the three African super-powers; Hirgizstan, the United States of Brink, and Bjornoya that the continent would arise from its pitiful state to claim the power it rightfully deserved.

Years of war fought by various nations and several tactical land trades had finally stabilized the region into the three African powers that are now the status-quo. However the governmental and economical leaders of these nations saw the huge potential that the continent of Africa entail, and were not satisfied with the current status. Change, no progress was desired.

It was a combination of humanitarian and economical practicality that gave birth to the Mulungu Project. Many millions of Africans were left homeless, starving, and under constant threat of guerilla forces that plagued the region prior to the rise of TATO in Africa. It was this recognition along with the vast capital to be gained by exploiting once unreachable natural resources and the potential a horde of potential employees to assist in that exploitation that kicked off the project.

The agricultural was the first to be revitalized. Intelligent expenditures in scientific and labor allowed for the reformation of many thousands of square kilometers to be converted into wheat, soy, rice, and pea fields using modern crop rotation and minor terra-forming abilities to tame and settle the wildernesses of Africa.

To assist in transporting the newly abundant food-supplies countless billions were spent evolving infrastructure that not only began connecting the isolated regions of Africa but also began migrations from overly populated areas to new towns forming in the once thought unsettleable regions within Africa. Small agricultural villages and herding towns were popping up on the desert and rainforest fringes and slowly moving inward.

Other important infastruture developments included the creation of hundreds of airports and sea-ports devoted not only to the transportation of various commodities but also allowing Africans to travel their continent with an ease once thought unobtainable to the citizens. Public utilities were constructed efficiently and intelligently by government contracts to many private organizations, creating thousands of jobs and bringing countless services to Africa that so many nations take for granted.

After the infrastructure phase was underway much of the invested money including a generous 50 trillion dollar grant from the nation of Hawdawg went into private industries. Various major and minor TATO member government officials who received intelligent advice from prominent businessmen controlled the distribution of these funds. Depending on the climate and region money was spent assisting thousands of industries including gem-mining, apparel, advertising, education, record-keeping, communications, electronics, pharmaceuticals, architecture, and legal fields.

It has been nearly half a year since the project was started. Like a vitalizing wind the investment started from the African heartlands of Bjornoyan Equitorial, Hirgizstani Zambia, and Brinkman Namibia and spread throughout the great continent of Africa. In time TATO members predict Africa will become one of the most economically powerful regions in the world, offering some of the greatest goods and services to its citizens of any nations on Earth.

OOC: Questions concerning the project may be referred to me, I left out many details because well... details are boring and I don't feel like writing this like a scientific report.

Mulungu Project: The Shaping of the African Continent: A TATO Undertaking

'There is always something new out of Africa.'

From the oil rich fields of Libya, Niger and Chad to the agrarian heartlands of Angola, Namibia and Zambia, through the stifling jungle potential of the Congo to the vast plains of the south and on either side vast oceans filled with every conceivable form of life. That is Africa as it should be: a land of unbridled potential and limitless wealth, the jewel of the world. And that is what TATO is making Africa.

In a very short time Africa, as continent, has gone from a war-torn and fragmented melting polt of fractious states to a vastly unified bloc that works together for the good of the continent.

The most populous continent in the world, is not Asia or Europe, but Africa, meaning there is more potential here than anywhere else on earth. Where once battles raged over unexploited oilfields, now derricks churn and where once only nature would go, medicine's and cures are being extracted from this very nature to go to worldwide medical breakthroughs.

Essentially the Mulungu Project was conceived on a humanitarian basis, to help Africans in the wake of war. But the advent of peace and the joining together of the three continental super-powers into the Tri-African Treaty Organisation, as well as an unprecendeted $50 Trillion donation from the nation of Hawdawg, propelled the Mulungu Project into something fantastical, a project that would truly turn Africa into the jewel of the world.

The infastructure of the project is vast and diverse, including a huge number of new airports, ports and a completely inter-connected highway system that will eventually stretch from Tripoli to Cape Town. This highway system and inter-connected commerce ventures between TATO members will ensure the delivery of raw materials, food and goods quickly around Africa and across the world. Regional trade will also be a major area of work for the Mulungu Project, and the fact that all trading routes around Africa will be protected by TATO signatory country National military forces will surely increase the want of corporations to trade with Africa.

Civilian Air Control and Port Control Co-Operation as well as the connecting of national highways and railways over national borders in the past six months has given the project a springboard off which it may touch unseen and unheard of heights of success.

The goal of the Mulungu project is to turn Africa into the centrepiece of the world, and the TATO members shall lead the way in this endeavour.

OOC: As Bjorn says this is going to be a sort of forum for us to post essays and progress reports etc, and for the E2 community to ask questions etc.
More detailed information on the project will be forthcoming.
