Part 1:
A message sent to the galaxy at large.
It was to be the greatest thing the Azahans would have seen since the days of the great Imperium-type ships.
In the days of old, the average cruiser was 6 clicks, the battleship, 8, and the smallest escort, 1.5 clicks, dwarfing some battleships of other nations. In the newer days, they scrapped the giant junkpiles, saw them as worthless old relics, and started anew, creating small, fast, and sleek ships, using pure numbers to overwhelm any would-be enemy.
But a old era was returning, the old era made anew. This was to be the first of the great ships. It would not be a return to the old relics that were, these new lines were to be made with the newest technologies(Albiet new to the Azahan was decades behind other empires) they could muster.
What they called for was a 6 kilometer behemoth. Sleek surfacing, weapons batteries, two massive ion cannons, fighter support, and very big communications arrays. When the first few ships are to be completed, they would be used as command ships. But once the production swings into a good pace, they will be phased out as command ships, and made to be the standard battleships.
It was a monumentous task, most, about 80% of the resources, would come from old ships no longer in use. After the first prototype model, resources will need to expand to create more.
