Only a few minutes ago, the Martentopis department of Disasters received reports of a comet crashing into lake Yo-Yim, causing a tsunami to be triggred. This tsunami virtually swallowed the lake-side town of Mimo. The death-toll is expected to be at atleast 300,000, but even more if we don't get better search-and-rescue aircraft, naval vessels, or cars.
Mimo correspondant of Martentopis News at six: this tsunami has only just happened. I, myself have just dried my wet body after the banks of the local canal burst, flooding my hotel. Bodies are littering the lobby here, and people have been sayingthe case is the same on the streets. I am not sure what the death-toll is at the moment, but my guess is about two thirds of the population died, so about 200,000. Rescue is impossible around the streets and carnage of what is left of the once great city of Mimo.
martentopis is now begging the international community for better rescue equipment, or many more people will die.

The kind Dictator of RNoESOM sends three large vessels loaded with medics, and sends three seperate regards on each ship. Each letter says the same thing:
I send my regards, but I also have disasters to tend to myself. I hope all of your people are well, and I suggest perhaps you could ask some of your neighbors in your region to let your citizens stay in for a bit. I have no other way but these ships to let citizens take refuge. I hope at least one of these letters gets to you. Stocked in these ships, you will find: towels, seperate rooms, at least 500, so you can get 1500 people at least to safety, if you can get more to fit, let me know, and bravo, there is also many packs of guage, for injuries, and you will also find seperate ships attatched to the sides of the ships...you may want my men to see about letting people find their own refuge, if they wish to take the risk...I hope I may speak to you again, whether it be in a letter, during a UN meeting, or otherwise...
Sincerely,
Ace Livantis
Dictator of RNoESOM

Martentopis times reports:
RESCUE EFFORT UNDERWAY IN MIMO
rescue efforts are well underway in Mimo, reports have been saying. Over 50,000 people have already been rescued from the rubble of what once was their homes. Make shift shelters have been erected all around the city, providing housing for the 150,000 or so survivors. Martentopis and it's aiders seem to have all rescue equipment sorted now, although the need for fresh drinking water is arising. Many people have been forced to fight outside rescue convoys in order to get enough food and drinking water for their families. When our reporter for Mimo interviewd a man who had just been beaten up in one of this fights he found out many people in Mimo are distressed with the Martentopis government, for not giving enough basic nessecities in order for the people to continue their daily lifestyles

The Aralonian Self-Defense Forces is sending their own AMSDF Lothringen [INS Viraat equivalent] light carrier to the disaster area as a sign of goodwill. All but 10 of the JSF aboard the carrier have been removed to make way for an additional 18 AgustaWestland EH101 helicopters, bringing the rotary complement aboard the ship to 24 helicopters. Medevac teams are being loaded on board, expect the Lothringen to be there within several days.
Viviani sends two medevac helicopters with full crew and medical supplies, also five semi-trailers with drinking water, clothing, and blankets. We are sorry that we could not send more. Best wishes.
