May 25, 1984.

A massive world shaking storm took many billions of souls, reducing the Empire from nearly 8 billion to a measly 5 million. The Cause was when the Myogin of Nature's Infinite Grace Finally summuned forth all its power to stop the invasion of The Oni, lead by the All-consuming Oni of Chaos. Damges are in calcuable.

Date: 1999-2000
Disaster: Blizzards
Death/Injuries Toll: est. 24,621,900 dead, injuries unknown
Damage Toll: no accurate figures
Information: Harsh blizzards are a normal feature in the Dominion, but the winter of 1999-2000 was particularly devastating. The freak atmospheric conditions of that winter kept large blizzards parked over central Cotenshire. The storms were constantly being reinforced, and there would be many days where the snowfall level would exceed six feet. The lucky ones were trapped in their homes, and the unlucky ones died when their homes collapsed under the weight of the snow. The melting snow the following spring created enormous floods. This was only the beginning, however. Farmers could not sow their crops that spring and ost of the deaths occurred in the ensuing starvation. Relief silos full of preserved food had been created by the nobility, but the logistical nightmares created by the snow and floods meant that the food could reach almost no one. The mentality of the situation was not helped by the fact that many thought the apocalypse would come in the year 2000.
Shenyang
25-08-2007, 01:20
Well, heres the worst my nation's encountered, it puts all the others in perspective for my people, which is why I'll only list it.

Minor Super-Eruption:
1865 (almost the whole year)
Deaths: 2,300
Wounded: 190,000
Cost: 15.6 Trillion USD (approximate (does not include unreported damage / ecological impact))
Shenyang's infrastructure was severely damaged, rebuilding efforts extended until 1917, when the last of the damage was repaired. The volcano is located in the Southern Shenyangi Desert, and is partially responsible for Shenyang's bizzarre climate. No eruption is expected in the forseeable future.
