Davy Crockett 2 Project
The Davy Crockett 2 is a modern version of the 50s project to build small portable nuclear weapons. There are 2 versions;W67,W82
W67 warhead
weight 51 lb
length 31 inches
width 11 inches
yield 25 tons of TNT
W82
weight 75 lb
length 48 inches
width 16 inches
yield 45 tons of TNT
It is launched from recoilless rifles. mortars,or a special launcher(M438) that can launch a W67 war head 10 miles and a W82 8 miles. It is recommended that the special launcher is used as to not injure the crew. It is used to defend hot zones from invasion and to make an area inhabitable to give our forces time to respond to an attack.

OOC: Yeah, it's a great weapon. Though nobody will use it in fear of retaliation. I might buy production rights and a few hundred right now. Tis' Sparta Infensus.
OCC: why strike back? its like attacking with a massive air strike.

OOC: Exactly but with this one, before you kill your enemy and if they know your using these. They'll use them against you to; unless you manage to paradrop a few dozen soldiers armed with these covertly within ten miles of thier capitol and thier largest cities. And strike before they know what hit them. Making them unable to use thier Nukes. Then yes.

Most people on NS consider any use of nuclear weapons to be an instant nuclear exchange, whatever the yield or target. One of these used against most good RPers will result in a limited/full nuclear exchange.
yes it can. but what i'm using it for is making wooden ships and arming them with this and just sailing them toward an enemy fleet then unvieling them and bam.

OOC: Not really; you can nuke the shit out of a country and bomb thier Silos making it impossible to strike back. Though like I said; if you can covertly paradrop some of these guys into a country and get them to into within striking distance of major Military and Governmental bases as well as facilities and use them without your enemy knowing then they won't be able to strike back as they won't have any national leaders to confirm the launch making it impossible to use.

I rather think said fleet would notice a few boats coming towards them via lookouts and patrols and blow them out of the water. Plus the whole instant nuclear retaliation against your city thing.

Did anyone mis that. it is used in defence. but i will not use the ship mounted ones as a first strike weapon.

Unfortunately to many, use is irrelevant. Any use of nuclear weapons results in a nuclear strike in response.

I mean like old wooden ones like Rroman Empire old. they wouldn't think anything of it because i would keep the normal weapons on board.(bows, large crossbows, catapults).
First of all, you have failed to research the history of this weapon, it failed primarily because of the fact that there is a strong possibility wind will carry the fallout from the impact directly unto friendly lines

Nations usually keep a light lip about silo locations, and since silos are usually impervious to a high-yield nuclear weapons, this puny thing will do nothing. In addition, NS nations on average keep tens or even hundreds of thousands of missiles on alert, making any concerted attempt to eliminate their retalitory capabilities wasteful and useless. And since any nation with nuclear weapons will most likely have a half-decent air defensive network in place, paratroop planes carrying this thing will be blown out the sky long before they can reach sensitive military and political targets.

...
Optical gunnery systems and combat air patrol fighters will spot you and betray your rowboat's position long before you can get into range.
fine then i give up. but i will keep this in my arsenal.(in case i ever get conquered and need a weapon to attack large enemy positions.)

Send in stealthed subs to drop off small covert units. Units reach landfall, they have camo cloth and are trained to infiltrate enemy cities. Move into range fire. You could also use low flying stealthed helicopters. Drop troops. Leave. Blam guaranteed nuclear hit. I believe you are playing FT, or PMT. Not as easy to pick up. First strike to destroy military bases.
Wooden speed boats don't pick up on radar very well. They have a very low profile in the water and are very hard to pick up in the water. This is why they are used by pirates and smugglers. They would die after the first shot though.
Ancient wooden boats would be very odd. I think someone would destroy them before they got too close to a navy. Warn then destroy.
