Some random system in deep, deep space.

The small scout ship slowly pulled into the system. There was nothing – only a sun, several large, uninhabitable planets, and lots of asteroids. Thus, it was perfect for the nefarious goals of the man on board – Kevin Kirillovich Nivensky, CEO, Allanean Arms, Incorporated. He was not looking at the star chart, or on the screen in front of him. He was looking at an old photograph of a man who bore a large amount of unhealthy resemblance to Kevin himself.

“Well, Dad....” - whispered Kevin, so nobody heard. - “You never believed in me, did you? You always thought I was a worthless spineless sucker – that I would never amount to anything.... this kind of stuff. But today, I win out, don't I?”

A clerk walked into the room. “Mr. Nivensky, the first payment from the Solarin League came through.”

Nivensky laughed out loud as the screen lit up, showing a nice, round trillion dollars add itself to the corporation's balance. But he knew it would not be all. Five minutes later, another clerk entered.

“Sir, the first payment from Beta Aurigae is online,.”

“Get out of here! And from now on, don't tell me about this stuff, I can see it on the computer anyway.”

“But, Mr. Nivensky...”

“Get the fuck out.”

After the clerk got out, the computer began to bleep violently – transactions from No Endorse, Chronosia, and other nations were coming in like mad. Nivensky was still chuckling as he typed in the coordinates of the chosen construction location and sent them via secure tightbeam transmissions to the relevant nations.

He was now laughing madly. “So who's laughing now, Dad? Huh? I just freakking quadrupled – wait – quintupled the assets of the corporation – our income this year is greater then our bloody net value was in your time! So who's worthless now, huh?”

He ripped open the door of his yacht's safe. Normally, this would be company money – lots and lots of cash, Universal Standard Dollars, credits, Mullgian Dollars and Allanean Arms' own Nivensky Dollars. Normally, it wouldn't be his – but given the increase in Allanean Arms profits in the last fifteen minutes, it was – as a small bit of the dividends. He laughed insanely as he lifted a want of Juuman inguts from the floor. He smelled it. Then, slowly, he began to unbutton his shirt, still laughing.

Elsewhere in the system

Allanean Arm company vessels began to deploy in the Oort cloud, proceeding slowly towards the star system's center, spreading special encrypted-transmission FTL beacons. Only nations who were members of the project could use them to arrive at the locationswhere the greatest Allanean Arms project ever would begin.

Back in the ship

Kevin Nivensky was now fully naked, rolling about on the floor of the safe, laughing as he rubbed the money against his flesh. A dribble of saliva flowed out of his mouth as he smelled the fresh smell of Pacitalian douros. “So who's laughing now, huh Dad? Who's laughing now?

Serena Lavine was deeply involved with the Motherland Republic Space Agency, experience of which spanded decades of her existance. A very notable contractor and developer in the MRSA, she was the very mastermind of the Orbital Ion Cannons that orbited the Earth currently. Indeed, blood was on her hand already for her awesome creation. But that was the last thing on her mind, because now she had something else to look for.

After the collapse of the Galactic Republic, the Motherlands offspring for the stars, all dealings automatically went from that Shattered Government to the very stable Executive Government of the Motherland of Anagonia. Even as it didn't have the technology in practice as its star-borne brethren, it retained equal technology in deep undergounrd bases where Anagonia's first development of its Space-worthy ships had been accomplished.

Two Trillian dollars had been placed into this very operation she now had her mind set on, the massive habitable ring that was being constructed. A strain on the Executive Governments Economy, but well worth the cost for creating a new home for their lost brethren.

A gaze out of the window of the under-developed Construction ship revealed where the Allanean Arms Incorporated ship was. The Pilot turning back to Selena and nodding with a smile.

"Comrade Lavine, we have arrived."

"Thank you Justin," she smiled as she spoke in her soft tone, "Make sure they know we have supplies and the lot avaliable for assitance."

"Da," the overly Russian Justin responded, going back to his duties on the craft-like bridge.

A soft sigh of relief, it had been a day jounry here. Even with the Sub-Space device gathered from the remains of old ships, it wasn't as best as their Starborne cousins. This Construction Ship had been used for many a task in Earth Orbit, in secret and in public. Until recently, no more tasks had been assigned to it, and it was scheduled for retirement. However, with the message from Allanean Arms, and acceptance of terms therein, this old beauty was to be refitted and reconstructed towards this task.

American-Class STS Space Shuttles had been gathered and stored in its hanger bays, full with modified equipment for construction puirposes of many a space station. Supplies and suits galore inside its wonderous hull, and a few resembleces to its hard life of past scarred its refitted hull. Records of past logs and history had seen that no one had ever really named this craft, always a designation had been given. The OCS, or Orbital Construction Ship, was all that was in the naming logs. Crews had called it the Grindstone because of its hard labour purposes, and as such Logs recorded this below the name slot. Until recently, this name was just an unofficial name.

Selena, however, made it official out of respect for past crews. A gentle smile, for she knew her day had come. With so much riding on this construction effort, she was confident that things would work out.

Greetings Comrades of the Stars!

We come in peace and with effots as our beasts of burdon are ready to assit you in any way. Please feel free to use our shuttle fleet, and construction crews, to hurrt your efforts.

With thanks,
Commander Justin Vladinchi

Two very large blue plips appeared in the darkness of space, out of them came two Cradle Class Repair Ships. These huge Ships measuring a square Kilometer lumbered forth to the work site. Building this project was their one goal, by finishing this Ringworld the Yukatan People would have a large resort or what ever the space they get on the world would become.

"Ah ha, we've arrived!, Message the Allanean Work Fleet that The Yukatan Detachment has arrived."
"Aye Sir!"

The Construction Crew from Yukatania has arrived, what shall we start to work on?

"Uh, sir?"
Captian Bortscek turned to the man who said that, "Yes?"
"Well I just want to know why we are doing this, I mean what is there to gain?"
"Well our country gets some land out of it and we get to test out these stations."

ALLANEA!! RAWR!!! Com'on, this could BE a great RP!
Allanea

The Allnean vessels dodged back and forth. They hitched a variety of raw material – asteroids, rocks, and so forth – behind their ships, steered it into an orbit near the construction site, and let it loos, then proceeded to go and collect more. Towards the Anagonian and Yukatanian crews, they dispatched two small, green craft, each bearing a single messenger.

The messengers carried complex instructions to the assistants. Essentially, so far the project was in the gathering stage – raw materials were being collected into the system for the enormous task, while the Allaneans would construct several mobile converters to shape the varied raw material into HyperPlast, the main component of the future construct. Once the first HyperPlast sheets were rolled out, the Yukatanian and Anagonian construction crews would begin putting it in place.

In the meanwhile, Kevin Nivensky was done with his peculiar money bath, and left to the outskirts of the system, where a large luxury cruiser owned by Allanean Arms was already parked. It was that craft that would serve as the headquarters for the Allanean Arms, Incorporated involvement in the entire enterprise. It is from aboard this vessel that Nivensky would eventually address the different participants of this project – once both Anagonians and Yukatanians were taking part in the work.

My dear friends!

This marvellous new project, beginning now under the guidance and management of the Allanean Arms company, is not merely a large construction device, not merely a new word in commuity housing. We here are building a new world – not only in the literal, but in the figurative sense. There will be numerous nations – some members in the Galactic Federation, some not – that will be, by this project, bound into a new dedication to peace and protection of the common habitat that they will share.

This project will be the dawn of a new era for all those who have bought or plan to buy Participant Nation Slots on the new project – they will create a new environment not merely for comfortable living, but for peace, trade and security for their members. I would like to thank you all at this wonderful opportunity for signing up for this plan – and I am sure your children, those who will actually live on this beautiful new world we are building, will thank you, too.

Good luck, and may God Bless our endeavor.

A politician, an accountant, and a Military Advisor sat in a room looking at the dispatch from their sometimes-ally Allanea. when it got down to the ring world the Politician shouted, "I WANT FIVE UNITS!" The accountant looked doubful at the Politician and said, "Sir, in order for us to even buy one unit we'd have to take over $2000 dollars from every taxpayer. That's a big chunk out of the defense budget."

The General glared at the accountant, "Mr. Matacoshi, there is no reason why the Commerce Department cannot also pay over half of this in their budget seeing as how your department would use it as much if not even more than we do. Do I need to remind you how much y'all use OUR stargate program to transport goods while you refuse to help fund the trillion-dollar per annum project."

"Because the Military Industries gain tens of trillions of dollars from our allowing the military to sell their products to the public and foreign nations as well as run many hundreds of service planets you so viciously conquered in the last war and have used to mine materials so cheaply. And need I remind you that is was the Commerce Department who created the universal assembly nanite that the military uses so well to create its warships."

"Then it is settled. We shall buy two sectors. The military shall have control over one sector, paying for it out of its military profits. The Commerce shall buy and control the second. Now get me a shotgun and the Vice President's best friend..."

OOC: explanations of some terms are below the RP, Allanea subcontracted me for parts of the software of the ringworld.

Kalisimu kali, Diaka~l kalesa:
The radio was loud enough not to hear one's own voice. The Rejistanis in the cubicles and the central area did not seem to mind, they even enjoyed it. It took 16 years for Kalisimu Veran* to reach the chance to promote into the H1SR**. The match against Jinhes Junis*** was the decisive match. Here in the Ehaanik JSK building, everyone was following the match: both the Veran fans, who want their team to promote, as well as the Salan fans who were siding with the Jinhesi team. The computers were humming unnoticed and waiting patiently for their programmers to return. Those however were listening to the broadcast and various shouts filled the room.

The radio speaker, Inkatil I Ra~e, also became very emotional. This was a Kalisiman radio station so the reporter was highly partial and supported the Greens. The score was still 1:1 and anything could happen during extra time or even in the penalties. But then, in the injury time of the second half, seleken**** striker Sahameneteha Menesehekijidala managed to use an error in the Jinhes defense to get into a good position. he could have the chance to score, but instead passed to the ehila~oan Ha~e Xii who then shot the ball into the upper right corner, unreachable for Jinhes goalie Teke Syku. In Ehaanik, hell broke loose. People were celebrating or drowning their anger in alcohol. Some even tried to work, but they were a tiny minority.

Ehaanik JSK is a software corporation and currently working on a project for Allanean Arms. They themselves only received a mathematical definition and had no exact idea on what it was, they were programming. The Allaneans hired them because they were cheap and did their job on time (nevermind they estimated 3 times as long as their rivals), maybe earlier, but never did they finish too late.

Official Message from the Allanean Arms Company To Crazed Marines

We thank you for your participation. Please send your construction crews along too – Yukatanians and Anagonians are already here!

* * * *
Kevin Nivensky smiled at the HyperPlast factory now working outside, churning out large amounts of the Ringworld base material, which was then carted off by the Anagonian and Yukatanian crews to the storage locales – basically, key spots throughout the system where the masses of material hung in deep space held by gravitic anchors.

Soon, once the Rejistanians were done with their programming, the construction would begin. In the meanwhile, he hoped, other nation’s assistance crew would also join the effort. And the ringworld would be built.

He smiled.

Glorious.

Randal Jackson(the Prime Minister) and James Hawdon(the Military Commander) had received word of this ring-world. That the Allanean's where starting to build apparently, Yukatania had already sent a couple of large Cradle Class Repair Ships. The people of Anagonia and Crazed Marines whom we haven't had contact with have sent or a sending crews.

"Well... It certainly seems a big project." said Randall

"Do you know if there are any defensive measures in place?" asked the Military Commander

"Nothing that I can find... Are you thinking about sending something?" asked Randal

"Yes, I think we can spare about 6 Hawdons, maybe a few more." stated James

"If we had a hand in constructing this then that would be a great boon for us. How much is one of their slots?" queried Randal

"10 Trillion." stated in an abrupt manner

"Do you reckon they'd take a payment plan?" hoped Randal

"That's 10 Trillion every year for 90 years..." said JAmes shooting Randalls dreams down in flames

"Oh, okay then..." stammered the Prime minister

"We can't afford a slot but I think we could send our construction crews to help, as well." suggested James

"What? You mean the crew that constructed 'The Pad'? (OOC: The Pad is Nova Bazalonia's only shipyard) questioned Randall

"Yep." confirmed James

"Where is the crew anyway? and their equipment?" wondered Randall

"Ah... The crew is on 'the pad' being bored ****less, We just don't have the money to fund construction of more ships, well not yet anyway. Their equipment is also being stored there. It hasn't been needed since the pad has been constructed." answered JAmes

"Are we sure the equipment works?" pondered Randal

"Oh, yes these guys are quite pedantic about there equipment. I'm not even game to go up there." stated James with a smile, Randal smirked at the comment

"Okay, then. You can send those 6 ships... Oh... and where will the construction crew go?" said Randall

"They can go on one of the ships, with a skeleton crew and no military on board there is plenty of room for them on a single ship. if we keep that ship close to the ringworld then it can start getting people on board ready to evacuate, while the others are fully engaging the enemy, if there was an attack... The construction equipment can be stored where the fighters usually are." replied James

"Okay, then. I just hope we are not spending these resources for nothing, I'll get in contact with Allanean Arms, they're the ones looking after this."

"I'll await word and then send them off." said James

"I just hope this will be worth it." exclaimed Randall as he left to send a message to the Allaneans, James went to organise the ships.

Randall sent the following message.

We have heard about your 'ring-world' and while we are not able to pay the cost for a space onboard, we are still very interested in becoming apart of this project. To this end it has been decided that we can send the following...

1 Hawdon-class Spaceship carrying a large construction crew and their equipment.

5 other Hawdon-class Spaceships to aid in the defense of the ring-world until the project is at a stage where such ships are no longer necessary. We would also like to inquire about provisions that could be made for Novaen usage of the ring-world even though we cannot afford to purchase a slot as a result of our aid during the construction process.

Thank you, We await to hear back from you, Novaen Prime Minister, Randal Jackson

Fifty Ha'Tak battleships and a hundred Asguard motherships were set for decomission and were being shipped to the location of the ringworld along with a full load of nanites that were dismembering the ships on the way there, their alloys and wiring to become the CM section of the ringworld. The AI on each ship would be integrated with the construction and only 20 men would be required to create this section of the ring within a year. More ships would be on the way to retrieve the coaxial/hyperdrives and supply the men. The weapons would be integrated as well and with all luck the reactors would function just as well.

The OCS Grindstone drifted a few meters from a large section of the Ring that had been completed per the following years. A few STS Class Orbital Space Shuttles were carrying crews and workers along-side the completed section and continuing to manage and weld bulkheads into place. Crews were having the normal times, observing Galactic Construction Laws as they ensued the grueling task of going about the business of the Ring-World construction.

Nothing new was to report, a lone Space Construction Shuttle drfted off the end of the finished section to go around, open its cargo bay doors, and extend a robotic arm to place another bulk-head proper. Tiny Construction Astronauts drifted out to begin the finished proudtcs of bulk-head placement, while chatter and random jokes could be heard.

The Allanean executives watched with interest as the international teams labored on their bits of the ring world. It's been eleven years now since the project started. The Allanean president has been re-elected thrice, and the composition of the Congress and Senate has shifted back and forth a little – but, since it was Allanea, their doings were little affected by this. There still no income tax, and the Allanean Arms corporation began to invest it's major income into banks all over the multiverse, as well as a variety of companies.

They have sent a message to the Bazalonians as well, suggesting that the Allaneans, in exchange for the help in construction, would give them their miniature – only one earth surface – subsection of the Ringworld. Now, only the underground maintenance areas would remain under Allanean Arms control.

In the meanwhile, raw material was still carted by different participants into the system, as per the agreement, and the Allaneans kept converting it into vast amounts of HyperPlast – then giving it out to the participants, and watching as it slowly began to take up shape.

Well, seventy-five more years, Dad, and it'll be over. – chuckled Kevin Nivensky. - But unlike you, Dad, I don't age. My c*ck doesn't go limp, and I don't grow fat, either. I will live to see it happen. So who's the worthless loser now?

By now over 300 decomissioned ships had been disassembled and reassembled into the ring world. CM's side of the construction was finished long before everyone else were evemn halfway done. However it was because nanites could work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year without a break. Instead of repairing CM designers felt it better that new nanites be brought in every 30 days and the old ones scrapped for wiring. now came the topside construction. some of the CM planets captured a decade before were being threatened by their sun. It was close to becoming a supernova and the planets were too valuable to lose so once the surface was dregged off and kept intact on special planet-type ships the barren planet was shot with planet-killing weapons and collected by space barges for the raw materials. Now the barges were here, selling off all the necessary materials at a fairly decent price to the contractors needing more materials. Not only that, CMDC made a killer by doing this to other similar projects. Expectations were high and a few contracts had been awarded.

Today was a good day to be a businessman.

The Six Mk II Hawdon's left for the Ringworld via Merchant Nova and then to the FTL beacon set by the Allaneans.

NBS Utilius bore the Engineers and their equipment to the ringworld and immeaditely started working on the 'minature' section on the ring world which was certainly large enough for the Novaens. Their first task was to build the 'minature' section and then to provide any construction aid in the undergroud maintenance areas which spread around the entirety of the Ring world.

Resource Gathering on Nova stepped up.. they even had to start resource hunting expeditions through the Stargate the recources where flowing in from Nova to the the Trade world and shipped to the Ringworld, also purchashing some of the Crazed Marines resources in attempt to keep the resources up until a suitable mine could be found and established.

The other 5 ships had arrived with the Utilius, Snow, Ice, Frost, Hail, Sleet. There to provide defense until there is no longer any need for it.

OOC: my guys are calling themselves Novaens... for two reasons, they wanted to seperate themselves from my Bazalonian Government and 2 they called their home Nova.

The Ringworld began to form itself – a fraction of the mass it would have in the end, but still huge and ominous. The Allaneans were still producing large amounts of HyperPlast, and still the Novaens, the Crazed Marines, the Anagonians and Yukatanians were busily fashioning it in place. The Allaneans bought none of the raw materials the CM government offered, but rather ferried their own into the system.

The Allaneans were pretty content – it had to be said – with the progress so far.

Kalisimu kali, Diaka~l kalesa:
The Ladybugs were singing "back in the H1SR" on the radio. Of course this time, it was not running on full volume but only quietly in a cubicle (Ka~nsu I Tei insists on being able to work better with music), otherwise only the humming of computers is heard. Lyku "Janek" Mianou, the chief of Ehaanik JSK is leading a visitor through the main room to his bureau. The visitor is a tall Allanean, named Jay Reno, who is here to see the progress of the project. The Allanean looks utterly pale, not only because he is white, but also because for rejistanian standards, his clothes lack color. He points at some of the numbers, which are shown on several cubicle doors, 10-0, and asks what they mean. "Reno'he, I am sorry, the employees decided to show a bit Schadenfreude about the latest result, please be not offended."

"Mister Mia, I do not understand you."

"Excuse my accent, I mean the match between KS V 2 and the PWNers" (he only approximated the last club name because he was unable to pronounce it correctly).

"This is a sports result?" He was long enough in Rejistania to begin to adopt the habit not to use tenses when talking to Rejistanis, since they apparently use them rarely at most.

"Soccer, yes. The Ngmweni PWNers travel to Rejistania for a training camp and there was a friendly against the second team of the Veran'ny from here. The result is the 10:0 win of Kalisimu Veran, lasane xi'het."

"Ngmweni PWNers? I didn't even know they exist."

"They are in the first league. National champions a few years ago."

"Oh, well, I do not follow soccer." the strange look of "Mister Mia" reminded him that this is in Rejistania like saying "I can't read" in Allanea. "You watch the game?"

"I watch all Kalisimu Veran matches and friendlies against international teams are especially interesting even thought they did not play against our first team." Lyku Mianou said it without any sarcasm. It was normal for him.

"They are afraid to lose even higher, I guess." when they reached the bureau, he changed his tone from small-talk to a more earnest tone. "How is the progress of the program?"

"Well, I can show you" during this, he started the computer (a rejistanian SI-X, to the disgust of Mr Reno). "Yes, we did decide to use the SI-X platform, it is not only compatible to the required standard, we also have the need for multiprocessor hardware. Also, the lower speed makes debugging easier." he says with a smirk.

Then he showed how far the progress already was: The main components did work nicely, however, the rejistanis were unsure about certain points. What the allaneans said and what the rejistanis understood differed at points, partly since the rejistanis saw problems which Allanean Arms did not consider worth thinking about when writing the specifications. After an hour of discussion, they agreed on the last points and a copy of the core-system was given to the Allanean on an external hard drive, so they could test it on their systems. As Mianou'he said: the program so far fits the specifications, but do they fit reality?

The very first of the Federation's construction vessels arrived in the system. The Da Vinci quickly took stock of the surrounding area and the raw materials at hand. In only a few days, the remaining bulk of the fleet was waiting to arrive at the same time as the two starbases, and the technical facility to arrive simultaneously. The starbases had had half of the docking bay capacity converted to massive industrial replicators, with half of them geared to receive material, the other half to produce the refined and converted product. However, to create the material, the computers running the replicators needed to know how it was composed of the subatomic particles. That's what this ship was sent here to find out. It simply sent out the message to the Allanean fleet, and awaited their response

Kevin Nivensky shrugged as he looked at the status report of the Ringworld. It was now almost 30 % complete, and work was advancing quickly – as indeed Allanean Arms had planned, many had chipped in voluntarily to add to the work the company was paid to do. But – as was not planned – some of the production was falling behind schedule.

The AIs were looking over this message and AI343GS decided to reply in kind.

We have not abandoned you. Our construction has been finished for five years and the new inhabitants are within a month of arrival. Hell, we have helped others finish their sections in time and our nanites have sped up production by 40%. So it is not us who have abandoned you but rather distance that has kept this from happening at the same pace.

Brandoniat Segment Orbit, Starship Da Vinci
The slow construction of the Brandoniat segment had frustrated those who were giving their lives to this extended time, and it wore on the commanding officer of the build crew. Hyperplast was quickly taking shape into the base plating of their sections, but the thickening of this layer was slow, and the engineers had not addressed the problem of the habitable surface, nor that of populating the sections with plant life. Engineers had proposed GE plants and grass, designed to grow quickly to maturity in the first generation, but to eliminate that gene in the next, resulting in a full plant ecosystem within a matter of months, complete with large redwood trees, with size normally associated with centuries of growth. But the fact was the surface had to be created, and the atmosphere supplied. The good news was that at least the Brandoniats sections, as least the Hyperplast portions, we expected to be complete with 15 years, to 20 years at the outside. The only question was synchronizing the orbit of the incomplete sections such that they would be easy to join.

The rejistanis experienced many relegations, promotions, league-titles and XTSR defeats but their dedication to the lasane was unstopped (even though one fan of Sijitalatirikimidateme Xkora was hired). The programming went smoothly as such a project can go. Until some day, something unthought of happened: The project was finished. Of course the rejistanis spent a lot of time to test the software, but then one day, a number of magnet tapes were sent to Allanean Arms. There was no real ceremony, since rejistanis were preparing for the XTSR final, there was just a phone call and a packet. Only after the final Ehaanik JSK realized that now they actually need to find a different task.

It was well done, though Nivensky. Here he was, 30 years after he started – as young in body and mind as he was 30 years ago. But the ringworld was advancing on schedule, and that was good. He set to typing.

Dear Friends!

Today, I am pleased to announce that 31 out of the 90 sections of the Ringworld are complete. It is well, and I thank all participants for their work. I remind you, however, that there still is a lot of hard work ahead of us. Many of the participants have not yet sent volunteers, and perhaps this ought to be fixed if we want to complete our struggle ahead of time.

At any rate, we have 60 years left till the end of schedule. Let’s make the most of it.
