OOC:The aircraft is carrying diplomats to a conference to discuss the use of Nuclear weapons. On board many of the diplomats know things about their countries nuclear weapons. There was a fight onboard between a few diplomats about the use of nuclear weapons. One of the diplomats onboard tells everyone that he is not ''name of diplomat'',he killed ''name of diplomat'' and took his place. Before he got on the plane he wired the engine area with explosives. So the reason your fighting each other is because your not sure who brought the plane down and you want to secure the site before another nation learns about your nuclear secrets. For the sake of this RP we will assume that each one of the nations involved has some sort of naval battle group operating in the area. The climate will be jungle, fairly flat, with mountains on the east side of the island.

......This is Capt...Explosio....tota...engine....Mr.....is not actually him...Tryin..land....Black Island..........

The Jet began loosing altitude quickly, the pilot was fighting to keep the jet level. The engines flickered on and off,not enough to keep the jet in the air.The pilot attempted to stabilize the plane once more and land in a large clearing. The plane lost altitude quickly and crashed into the side of a hill. The cockpit was destroyed but the back of the plane stayed intact.

A Naval Battle Group operating in the area picked up the last radio message.A UAVs launched of the carrier Liberty and flew over the island searching for the Downed aircraft.

The Chancellor was in his office, awaiting a call from his secretary regarding the current fleet status on Pudite Taskforce 02 off Spizania. What he got was Mr. White, the foreign affairs officer for this Commanderey.

White looked disturbed, the Chancellor assumed something had gone wrong,

"White, what's wrong, where is Kakova?"

White responded, "Nothing, nothing is wrong with the Admiral, its Grey, his transports gone down."

"What? Where is he? Have we made contact?"

White dropped a manila folder onto the Chancellors desk as he spoke, "No, no contact yet. I assume his escort is dead too, I couldn't make contact with White, or his personal receivers."

The Chancellor picked up the folder, which contained only a few pages, the first was a typed list of countries, followed by a name. He dropped it face up on the desk, "What’s this?"

"That, is a list of all the countries that also had a diplomat on that plane, and the name of said diplomat. They, their staff, and the pilot, were the only people on that aircraft. It was either shot down, or sabotaged, I cannot believe that a high value targets could have all gone down in this remote of a location by accident."

The Chancellor picked the folder's first page up again and began to read through the nations, "White," He said in a now much more level voice, "I've never heard of these places before..."

Mr. White chuckled as the Chancellor continued, again in his 'situation voice'

"Alright, we're going to need to get in there and get Grey out quickly, what do we have in the area?"

Mr. White leaned over the folder that the Chancellor was still reading and flipped a couple pages forward, this one was a detailed list of a fleet and some accompanying troops.

"Well, the 7th OPARR is only four hours away, I could re-route them, and we could have a few thousand men on shore by dinner."

The Chancellor had flipped back to the front, and continued reading down the list, "No, we need them at Chitzeland, break a few ships off, and get them there quickly!"

Fragment of 7th OPARR fleet, unidentified landmass, 4:44 PM
Five ships from the 7th OPARR, now under the command of Captain Valerian, were just coming into sight of the land mass on which the Pudite diplomat, Mr. Grey’s plane was reported crashed. Making up this task force was a single Triara class light cruiser, an Emden class assault carrier, a Blitz class LPD and its two attached LCACs, and two Swiftsure class multi-purpose destroyers. Also riding along with the Blitz was a single company of Orthae and six LV-08 light infantry vehicles. Supporting aircraft based off of the Emden and Shrike included twenty-five Cormorant medium transport helicopters, twenty Sparrow attack helicopters, twenty-five Sea Fury STOL fighter aircraft and twelve Swordfish strike aircraft.

In the next ten minutes the fleet had approached close enough to shore and had begun to unload their compliments of troops. Two Seasprite class LCACs, one loaded with one-hundred and fifty troops, the other contained six LV-08s and fifty troops. Flying in overhead was the company command squad in a Cormorant transport helicopter, followed by three more Cormorants loaded with supplies to be dropped along the beach.

The troops encountered nobody along the coast so far, but would not be surprised if anyone else was soon to arrive, another rescue mission or the inhabitants of whose ever land this was anyway. As such, the company would move inland about five kilometers and set up a base camp in some forested crags satellites had spotted earlier that day. After that a single platoon would break off and make the rest of the ten kilometer journey to the plane, recover Mr. Grey, find a landing zone for the recovery helicopters, and then trek back to base camp.

First things first, the five kilometers march through the rocky forested terrain to their base camp site…

12th Light Fleet of Madnestian Navy, consisting Titan-class Trimaran Fleet Carrier Dumihagey, Lion-class Trimaran Cruiser Oztah and three destroyers was sent within three hours after Warchief Tamujid, The Father of The Nation and The Beloved Leader, had heard about the accident. It cruised with full steam towards the Crashdown Island, as it was named. These ships were transporting something very speacial and precious, the flower, the diamond, the climax of Madnestian military. This unit was very rarely used, but Warchief hadn't hesitated in sending it. This was indeed a situation of the highest possible degree of importance.

In a country so completely and throughoutly militarized, every single person tested in the age of three for their suitability for different levels of military service, "ultimate diamond of the armed forces" is quite a lot to say. These men (and women), 125 of them, were the Strike Team "Shaugan" of the 1st RATA (OOC: For Madnestian words Troops For Special Missions) Brigade. They had been trained for their whole life, excessively, brutally and effectively, and they were all veterans of more than three 1st or 2nd Rank missions. Their field commander was Colonel Gavrai, propably the best soldier Madnestan has ever produced, and operational coordinator and ultimate commander was the man who had created the whole organization that RATA was, General Odaghan.
This unit was always stationed in the Base Camp Spezar, near the capital city, and ready for mission of any type within two hours. They were transported by the First Special Task Air Assault Group and the 18 Anvang M2T Transport/Battle copters of it.
STAAG also included 12 Andring M3B Battle copters for fire support and reconnaisance. Anvangs, each carrying 8 men, were heavily armed and armoured which reduced their maneuverability a bit. Andrings were much smaller and faster, and less well protected, but their weaponry was equally strong to that of Anvang's.

Strike Team Shaugan, together with General Odaghan, was first loaded to the copters and flown to the 12th Light Fleet and stationed to carrier Dumihagey for the trip. It took no more than 15 hours (OOC: I dunno how far this island is from Madnestan, so I play it like not very :p) before the shores of Crashdown Island were in sight, and Shaugan went to the copters again. In perfetct formation the Air Assault Group flew over the island, searching for the fallen plane. Two satellites searched the area as well, and it wouldn't propably take too long for them to find the place.

Chancellor Blackhelm was sitting in his office in the Imperial Palace when an aide walked in. "Sir, we have a problem concerning the nuclear conference" the aide said. "Go on" Blackhelm responded. "well you see, our diplomat was on a plane which...well..erm..crashed in the jungle" said the aide. "Well what are you doing here, deploy a rescue squad" the Chancellor said. Minutes later, 150 men in 15 black hawk helicopters began their flight to the crash site

OOC: I figured out how to get in...

IC:
There was a knock on the door of the Supreme Admiral's office. "Come in," The Supreme called out. Admiral Mark Provensono entered his office, "How are you Mark?" The Supreme asked his friend.

"Sir, Frank, it's about Joe Didoto," The regular Admiral said

The Supreme chuckled, "What did he miss his flight?"

Provensono took a deep breath, "Frank, it would have been better if he had."

"What!?" Frank asked, his voice had trembled a bit.

"His plane went down on an island around 1000 Km from here. A small carrier group has split off from one of our fleets that was patroling the area. You son was aboard one of the ships in the group and he and his crew decided to join the small group." Mark breifed his superior.

"Dear God. What kind of troops do we have going in?" The Supreme Admiral asked.

"Two platoons of Black Berets, two Nimitzs, two Destroyers and a battle ship are all we've got. Aboard the Nimitzs are Two C-170s, five Chinooks, and five Apches. Your son's group has two Humvees that they can use. Sir, several other groups are at the very least already on their way their. We also have some satilie imagray of the crash site. We've got to move fast."

---

The small naval force was nearly five km from the crash site. The two
C-170s took to the air and flew off toward the crash site. Each held a platoon of Black Berets a Humvee, and two Horsemen. One would airdrop the troops to the East of the target the other would drop a kilometer to the west.

"Open doors in 3... 2... 1... NOW!" The pilot of each plane call almost simultaniously. The doors opened and the Berets were ready. They went one by one out the door while the Humvees with two Horsemen inside each drove out the Cargo hatch. Parachutes deployed and within two minutes the forces were ready to move out.

Rocky Southern Beach, Pudite Landing Zone, 5:11 PM

The Pudite Orthae Company had just finished unloading and, because speed was of the essence, they did not stop to create a foothold or finish unloading extra weapons. The force began to move immediately five kilometers inland and create their camp.

The force was already rushed, and so the decision was made to send off the 1st Platoon, those that would search out and rescue Mr. Grey, directly from the beach. Lieutenant Kolek loaded his men up into their LV-08s as soon as they were unloaded, and before even the rest of the platoons were unloaded, they were off into the jungle, with the vehicles moving in single file through the tangled underbrush and think trees.

The vehicles were light, they could pass over the unstable rocky ground and swerve efficiently between the massive, vegetation covered trees, but the going would still be slow. They had to travel fifteen kilometers though this, and satellite intelligence extended only as far as the five-mile-camp, as it was being called. From there on in, all they had was the GPS signal of Mr. Grey, which was not moving, and hadn’t moved since the crash.

In half an hour, barring unknown obstacles, Lieutenant Kolek expected to reach the downed plane.

100 km away from the crash site

The C-130 thundered toward the island. It was cruising at about 50,000 feet and the commander was standing at the front, adressing the small squad of men in front of him. There were twenty men, most equipped with G36 rifles, with the occasional 12.7mm anti-armor rifle and M60. Each of these men were veterans of the Black Agent training, and were members of the newly reformed Siapian Intelligence Network Operational Detatchment Epsilon. "You all read your briefing- a plane carrying several important diplomats went down in the area. Your job is to paradrop in and hold your positions until our 5th Naval expeditionary can get within range to provide support." The commander looked at all of them. He had a feeling that he would regret getting into this. "Now what I am about to tell you is top secret black ops. This means you do not tell your family and do not tell your kids, and do not tell anyone! This is the kinda thing that never happens in the history books. Officially, you are just here to secure the site. The last transmission of the plane revealed to us that one of the diplomats is a spy, with the intent of killing them all. He had planted explosives and we feel that all the rest may be in danger. You are to protect all the diplomats on the scene, find out by any means necessary who this assasin is and hold him until Combat Search And Rescue comes, and aid in the evacuation of Ambassador William Kesson and the transportation of the assasin. Most importantly, apart from recovering ambassador Kesson, is keeping the assasin alive. We don't want to be sending pieces of a foreign national back. It would look bad and most likely all of you would be executed for violation of international law. Also, be aware that there may be hostiles operating in the area. Check your fire, maintain your intervals, and bring back those diplomats in one piece! Get ready, jump time is in three minutes!"

The plane rumbled over the jungle as several parachutes opened in the sky and touched down less than a kilometer away from the site. The men marched briskly towards the site.

'Fuck!' Matthew Crowley thought as he saw the parchutes. He called on his encryted radio, "War, this is Death. We've got some company dropping in on evac. route Beta. Tell your forces to move in." Matthew made a small movement with his hand and almost instantly his platoon followed him and Todd Giang, Plague, in thier Humvee. They rode off on a dirt trail into the jungle.

Meanwhile, John Lynch, Famine, and Andrew McDonald, War, were leading their troops in as well. The Berets had their Combustion bows at the ready, their explosive heads pointed up just in case. Famine and Plague drove while Death and War had their Special AK-105s ready. The video recording from their detachable camera sights fed directly into an eyepeice attached to their helmets. The head of each platoon took the gunner postition on the Humvee.

The Berets knew what to do. They were at home here, plenty of cover and little noise to distract them. They moved like ghosts after their leaders, their camoe gear blending them into the trees.

The Siapian soldiers walked along cautiously, when one captain stopped, looked around the air, and made a curt gesture and pointed behind them. The men in such a small squad didn't speak or use radios, but rather used sign language based off Native Siapian tradition. The language and the gestures were known to very few, even among those within Siap. Private Baines lifted his goggles and noted that there were vehicles. Johannes noted that they were outnumbered at least 2:1. The Captain declared that they should be on the same side, and that these soldiers would probably cooperate, but then noted that it would be unwise to take risks. He instructed 3/4s of his squad to proceed toward the crash site and to radio for exfil when they arrived, while the remainders, along with him would talk to the approaching force. The main group split into several smaller groups and moved to encircle the site, while the captain stood up, both hands on his rifle, facing where he perceived the others to be. His accompanying men had retreated and were covering his position. The snipers were trained on the gunners and drivers of the humvees.

CSS Eyrenstrong, 250 Km off the island

The Eyrenstrong was flanked by her fleet of 5 Aegis cruisers, a dozen or so frigates, several support subs and about 20 Siapian Patrol-Torpedo-Missile boats. All the ships were heading full steam towards the island.

Admiral Dobenicz sat intently behind the comms officer. "Give me news."
"Sir, Epsilon has successfully landed, and they're going quiet until they reach the crash site. The captain estimated it shouldn't be more than an hour for them to secure the crash site. There's no evidence that there should be any hostile activity."

Dobenicz's face remained unchanged. "I don't like this situation. Its too many men with guns in too small of a space." He turned to the XO behind him. "Tell CSAR to have their choppers ready at a moments notice. Also, when the Epsilons call in, tell them that they have my explicit permission to simply pick up Kesson and exfil if they deem it necessary. There is too much firepower converging on too small a space. This could get messy, and if it does, I want Kesson and the Epsilons on this boat, even if you have to swim over there."

"This is Kilo 2, we have chutes"
"Roger that kilo 2, intercept those men, we can not lose our nuclear secrets."

"Fuck," Crowley said as his Humvee got caught in a deep ditch filled with mud. "Todd, come with me," He said as he got out, "Gunner hold your postition and wait for the others to catch up." Then he pulled out his radio, "War, this is Death. We've hit some problems, Plague is on my 6 and we are proceed ing on foot, reciprocate. We don't wanna give any body their a chance to shift forces." "Will do," came the reply. Crowley made a small hand gesture and Todd halted. Crowley looked around with the scope of his D-7. He saw some men stop the people that that he had spotted earlier. "Hehe," he chuckled as he continued on with Todd covering his 6.

Things weren't shaping up well. 1/4 of the Siapian forces were waiting for a response from an enemy approaching by foot. The captain looked. The enemy was obviously not going to come out. He quickly ducked behind a tree, expecting a burst of fire at any minute.

Another one of the groups had been encircled. The men that could retreated into the forest. Several men set up anti-aircraft missiles and trained them on the helicopters. The remaining dozen trapped in the circle set down their weapons and raised their hands in the air. "Do not fire. We are Siapian Special Forces with orders to proceed to the crash site and recover Ambassador Kesson." One of the men that had pulled back and was hiding behind the crowd whispered into his radio, "Almighty, Almighty, this is Crossbow. We have hostiles and we may need some anti-personnel air support..."
"Roger-we can light up those woods with some lovely white phosphorus. Just give us the call."

On board the aircraft carrier, planes were brought up to the deck. Men scurried back and forth fueling them up and checking the wapons systems.

OOC: Deployment - One expirmental XF-24 put in a real conflict.[/OOC]

The XF-24 had it's 20mm M61 Minigun retracting slot replaced with a super high-res camera made for taking pictures at speeds up to Mach 7 without blur. Though the XF-24 would never near speeds that fast..

After a small frigate in patrol of the area from Spiritu Sante overheard the distress call and thought it would be the perfect time to see the worth of this jet as a possible reconnsiance plane.

The plane cruised at a speed of Mach 4.4 with the use of it's Ramjets. The sonic boom immense as it was going for speed not stealth. This plane was approaching the possible crash site to take several dozen photos and RTB. Which the plane seemed to be doing perfectly. As it maintained radio silence the perfectly flat plane at the moment snapped several dozen photos clearly as it flew about 400 feet off the deck. The pilot of the XF-24 saw the smoking crash site in a small clearing on the side of the hill. Still maintaining radio silence as he re-directed his plane. As in a matter of seconds it flew directly over; snapping it's photo's.

The pilot of this plane then yanked back on the control sick as it did an almost 70 degree upwards turn on almost a dime. Climing fast as it was to get to 20,000 feet and then begin RTB. Which it did with ease; as it now left the island and flew above a rather large fleet trying not to be caught. Which it most likely wouldn't with it's speed; RADAR signature hider/jammer. IR would be able to get a lock though if the plane dispensed it's Chaff and Flares would make missile firing useless, and lastly the LIDAR would be useful if the plane weren't flying above the clouds.

West End of Crashdown Island, near crash site, 5:38 PM

Lieutenant Kolek and his vehicle-mounted platoon had just hit a minor snag, a large marsh as a large nearby river spread over the small jungle plain. The vehicles could have managed, but Kolek decided it would be safer to continue the last three kilometers to the crash site on foot, to maxamise stealth.

Sergeant Ognev's squad was ordered to remain with the five vehicles, while the other thirty men proceeded on foot.

Kolek had, after sighting the helicopters overhead and the transports in the distance that they were not alone on the island, and as such further recconisance should be preformed on the crash site. A radio message on a secure channel to the Emden class assault carrier Shadow Strike sitting off shore, requesting a fly-over of the crash site to determine the number of unkown nationals present.

The three remaining squads of Koleks platoon continued foreward, even as they heard the Sea Fury aircraft scream overhead. These two planes would each take a small survelience tape from a camera in the weapons bays, and then relay it to the map screen on all the HUDs of Koleks officers.

The Lieutenant sent a quiet audio message to his platoon, through the audio recorders in his helmet and the earphone-speakers in theirs.

"Stay quiet, we have foreign soldiers crawling over the objective. Numbers unknown, weapons unknown, tactics unknown. Stay on your toes, this could get bad, we know someone in the plane brought it down."

The thirty men, and one attatched Commissar, advenced further down the river, now only two kilometers from the objective, they broke off into three ten-man squads and moved slower, keeping their eyes open...

"These people may be injured and there may be hostile forces in these woods. It is inexcusable to leave foreign diplomats behind when they are wounded and when their lives may be in danger. We will take any diplomat that wishes to be evacuated with us." The Siapian soldiers began searching through the ruins for the survivors, the blackbox, and most importantly, Kesson.

OOC: I've always thought that the best way to do a RP in which we have plenty of participants is to wait until they have all had thei chance to respond, so that situation like these - those who walked though the jungle are on the spot way before those who fly straight to there with helicopters, simply because those who play them manage to post earlier... RL situation becoming crucial in what happens IC. But that's just my opinion anyways.

Strike Team Shaugan was hiding, approx. 400 metres North from the remnants of the plane. Men lay on the ground, completely without moving and in perfect silence. Ahead of them, in position from where it was easy to monitor the crash site, Colonel Gavrai had seven men - his best snipers/scouts - hiding also. Four of them were in trees, three laying on the ground under the bushes and low vegetation, completely unseen. Their tiny helmet cameras passed information to both Colonel Gavrai few hundred metres behind them and General Odaghan, located on carrier Dumihagey.
Those two satellites that were now positioned to fly over the island had noticed all the action in it's airspace, and this had allowed Strike Team to avoid them, dodging the places where "enemy" was dropping or flying to. This gave them hope of not being noticed by anyone yet, even though they couldn't be perfectly sure about it.
Choppers had unloaded the men about a kilometer from the site, from where they had quickly advanced into the mentioned position.
Air Assault Group was meanwhile in air again, flying a circle on the other side of the crash site - it would take some five minutes for them to reach the place. They flew in their maximum altitude, using their optimal speed for saving fuel.

On the ground, Siapian soldiers that were now all over the wrecked plane were immediately seen (but not identified).Gavrai and Odaghan had expected this, and the unit remained in it's position. Should the enemy find someone, they would try to find out who it was and depending on that decide whether to step in.
If it was impossible to indentify even some those possible survivors these unknown SpecOps could soon drag out of the plane's remainings, (meaning: they could not be sure if it was Mr.Bagum) they would act anyways.
Propably by killing him, since that was the easiest and most reliable method.

No risks would be taken.

Lieutenant Kolek did not hesiatate at all, he, as well as the rest of his platoon, had detected the thermal signatures of the foreign soldiers long ago. The men's weapons were ready and now they would be ut to use.

The entire platoon opened fire into the bushes, each man firing with deadly accuracy into the small red splotches that could not be masked by the encompasing terrain. No speech was offered, no surrender demands were issued, and there was no hesitation. Commissar Iarek stood tall, the enemy bullets seemingly leaping out of his way. Standing with his arm outstetched, firing his OTs-27 Berdysh machine pistol in fully automatic mode into the treetops, the Commissar reached into his vest and pulled out a Pudite stick grenade. Biting the pin off the top, which was rounded and resembled a more common pineapple greande, he hurled it forward into the bubshes, followed by screams of pain as he struck home.

Pudite soldiers were dying, their heavy armor did protect them, but at such close range it's effectiveness was slightly reduced.

The three Support Men in the platoon went immidiatly to ground and began firing their light machine guns into the red blotches, around them the fifteen Riflemen went to one knee and begin putting short bursts into the foliage with their AS-Val silenced assault rifles. Having jogged backwards out of the trap and then sprinted up the left side, the six Assault Men were now on the outside of the enemy ring. They also covered the dense woods in short bursts of fire from their Vikhr SR-3 compact assault rifles, telling their Pudite counterparts from the enemy by their slightly reduced heat sigantures and larger, armored frame.

The snipers in the trees plucked down the Lieutenant, as well as some other men with well placed shots to the neck. The rest of the squad hit the dirt and started firing. They really were not expecting a fight. The sergeant fired and killed the lead pudite, than hit the dirt and rolled. A number of the Honor Guard were killed. About 4 were wounded, 1 badly.

At the plane, the captain heard the fighting. "Fuck! Send 30 more men to reinforce the interceptor group, and give them some air cover!" With that order, a group of men took off running into the jungle. They would be at the battle site soon.2 black hawks zoomed in over the fight. They opened up with their chainguns on the Pudite forces on the ground. "What are they shooting for?" the captain thought.
"Sir, we found the ambassador!" someone yelled
"Good, find the Pudite one to, and get them on a chopper" the captain responded.

We need to get out of here!" The Captain grabbed his radio and called for exfil. "We need to get out of here! Now!" The Exponent troops were busy trying to evacuate their man. "Sir?" A nervous voice called. "What is it private?" He quickly up his pack and opened a flap for just a second revealing something bright orange. "Good job soldier!" The Captain strapped a bullet proof vest over Kesson and hoisted him up over his shoulders. "Move Soldiers!" Half of the squad formed a tight box around him, rifles pointing out, while the spread out around them looking for enemies. Their evacuation choppers would meet them about a kilometer away from the fighting, but would take some time to arrive.

The Lieutenant had fallen, but Commissar Iarek stood fast, even as his fellow soldiers died arround him. Although some men had died, there were still more Pudite's than Exponent troops.

One of the Riflemen, Femelii, put a short call through to Sergeant Ognev's squad and the Pudite headquarters on land. Ognev could arrive in five minutes with his nine soldiers, but it would take the relief platoon under Lieutenant Tiekhorad from HQ twenty miniutes to make it to them.

In the meantime, HQ had forwarded Femelii's call to the Shike class helicopter carreir Templar off shore, which responded with the rapid launch of twelve DAS-9 attack helicopters, who would reach Femelii's location in four miniutes, just in time to meet the enemy helicopters as they came near.

Also recieving the call were the two Swiftsure class destroyers Beowulf and Skallagrim, who responded by removing the covers from their covers from the Mk.41 VLS launchers they each contained, and establishing a stalite image of the crash site combined with contnuing survelience from the Pudite planes still in the air. Now, as the Exponent helicopters began to land in the clearing near the plane, presumably to deploy troops or extract a diplomat, forty 9K40 Buk-2M surface to air missiles, each tipped with a 70 kilogram high-explosive fragmentation warhead, were launched from the ships. They would arrive in seconds.

In all, although they were surrounded, they were not outgunned, and their armour was still holding strong. Three Orhtae were dead and one was woulded in the foot, but continued shooting from his prone position.

It would be advisable for you to destroy those surface to air missiles before you create a far larger incident than you already have. I will not hesitate to go to war over this.

Meanwhile, the Exponent troops had also found the Pudite diplomat. Reports from Exponent satelites had come in about the SAM's. The helicopter was not going to take of until the missiles passed. In case they did not, the men unloaded 3 EIM-2's from the chopper. Basically what this was was a metal box containing nearly 3,000 bullets that all fire at the saem time, destroying anything in their path. As soon as the missiles were visible, they would open up.

The six ships of the quickly assembled group moved quickly down towards the coastline of the island where the plane had crashed. The Royal Cottish Navy had picked up the distress call from XX-103 when it first appeared, but the nearest unit had been so far away that even moving at flank speed cost them a few hours to reach the area of operations. Now, the kommandør in charge of the small task force looked over the units at his disposal deep inside the large Lord class LHD. Thank God for the fact that he was carrying the finest soldiers of the Realm aboard.

Task Force “Golf” - Ships
Lord class LHD: 1 (HMS Skriftemål [L-19])
Wallace class DDG: 2 (HMS Skjebne [D-61]; HMS Fristil [D-106])
County class DDG: 1 (HMS Orkanger [D-157])
Bullfinch class FFH: 2 (HMS Nansen [F-310]; HMS Hagen [F-363])
Task Force “Golf” - Air Wing
AH-92B Stalker: 8
F-43A Wasp: 6
H-86A Merlin: 10
H-86B Merlin: 13
RQ-15C Mack: 4
Task Force “Golf” - Ground Forces
3rd SOF [MJK]: 36 operatives (3 teams)
6th BDE, RCMC [Marines]: 98 soldiers (2 rifle platoons + 1 weapons platoon)

He had a small but capable fighting force at his hands, but something told him that he was going to need it. From what the secretive breifing over the encrypted satellite communications had told him, the kommandør knew that the talks had been about nuclear armaments. The Realm had only recently acknowledged publically that it had maintained a healthy stockpile of nukes for the past fourty years, something which had caused a small public outcry. The diplomat the Realm had sent knew much about the latest weapons delivery systems the Realm used, and thus his rescue was a top priority. The kommandør had permission to employ force in order to get him out of there alive. That force would be primarily through the ships at his disposal and the three special forces operatives teams in his relatively empty amphibious craft. The rest of the 6th Brigade were ashore on shore leave with the few ships of on a short cruise for testing weapons systems, another testemony as to how quickly this operation had been executed. He shook his head slightly as he looked up to the officer standing there, waiting.

“Hva kan jeg hjelpe deg med, fenrik?” [How may I be of assistance, Ensign?]

“Vi er nesten fremme, sjef. Sjefen for marinejegerne vil snakke med deg.” [We’re almost there sir. The head of the Naval Ranger detachment wants to speak with you.]

“Send ham inn.” [Send him in.]

The Ensign nodded and motioned for a man dressed in a woodlandish disruptive pattern uniform in the far end of the room. The man saw the signal and walked over to the kommandør at the map table.

“Hva kan jeg hjelpe deg med, kapteinløytnant?” [How may I be of assistance, Lieutenant?]

“Jeg ville bare høre om det var noen siste order eller oppdateringer du hadde til mennene mine. Vi er klare for innsats.” [I just wanted to check if there were any last orders or updates for my men sir. We’re ready for action.]

“Jeg vet at dere er klare. De siste etterretningsrapportene forteller oss at vi ikke kan bruke satellittene våre der inne. Det betyr at dere må stole på ferdighetene deres og på dataen som dere får fra dronene.” [I know. The latest intelligence reports tells us that we can’t use our reconnisance satellites this time around. That means that you’ll have to trust your skills and the data you recieve from the UAVs.]

“Helvete.” [Damn.]

“Jepp. Det er egentlig ikke så mye mer for meg å si, annet enn lykke til. Få diplomaten vår hjem i live. Det er hovedmålet.” [Yep. There’s not really much more for me to say other than good luck. Get our diplomat back home alive. That’s the primary objective.]

The man from the 3rd SOF (third special forces unit of the Royal Cottish Military), the Naval Rangers nodded, turned and exited the operations room. He proceeded down a few decks to one of the equipment bays. Here, he found the rest of the Rangers who were in the last stages of preperation. Equipment and weapons were being checked, cleaned, checked again, loaded and checked a third time. They were taking with a lot of weaponry.

Most men carried carbines, mainly AG4A4s and AG11A2s (both firing the 6.8x43mm standard round), but there were light machine guns of the types AG49A2 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW rechambered to 6.8x43mm), M60E4 and M240G; submachine guns of the types MP6A1 (P90) and MP7A1 (UMP .45); shotguns of the type M74A1; and sidearms, mainly P33A1s and P33A2s, firing the .45 and .40 round, respecitvely. They also carried light antitank wepons of the type AP72A2, mainly just a seriously modified M72A3 LAW; Claymore anti-personell mines; hand grendes of various types, and a few of the soldiers had SG92A2 sniper rifles, modified Super Magnum rifles firing the 8.6x70mm Lapua round. In all, they had a one hell of a weaponry at their disposal. Pleased with the effort, the Lieutenant gave a short peptalk before the men loaded up their equipment and started moving up the ladders to the flight deck.

On the flight deck, a lot of helicopters stood, waiting for the passengers. A flight of two H-86B Merlin transport helicopters were going to carry the Naval Rangers in. The flight was escorted by two AH-92B Stalker attack helicopters, each armed with the 32mm twin chaingun, two AIM-186A Wizard air to air missiles, four AGM-187A Brimstone anti-tank guided missiles and two nineteen-shot CRV7 rocket pods, loaded with high-explosive 70mm rockets. The two attack helicopters were there to escort the transport helicopters, which each was armed with two M134A2 Miniguns, and to provide close air support for the Rangers in case they needed that. The helicopters had their rotors spinning when the men appeared, the pilots impatient to get going. The soldiers were escorted to the helicopters, with six men going in each of the Merlins.

Once the men were safely inside with all their equipment and gear, the pilots increased the torque and the helicopters lifted off from the flight deck and headed for land. The Merlins were flying first, escorted by the two Stalkers. They flew in a tight formation, just as if this was a combat mission.

As the helicopters flew towards the island, a RQ-15 Mack unmanned aerial vehicle flew silently and unnoticed over the skies at 12,000 meters, filming the island, looking for the area the plane crashed into. It was pretty clear where it was when one saw the foreign helicopters and aircraft moving over a general area, so the UAV controller aboard the Skriftemål focused on that particular area. After a short search, he found out that the crashed aircraft had to be in that area, roughly one square kilometer in size. It was still a lot of ground for the men of 3rd SOFs Delta Team to cover, but they’d get it done. They had to. The national security of the Realm was at stake.

The helicopters were redirected to the new area they were to focus on. ETA was in fourteen minutes.

Four Siapian soldiers were killed immediately by the blast, while two were injured. Another soldier was felled by the crossfire, but instead of engaging the forces, the men continued their tight formation around Kesson and the Captain carrying him. The soldiers marched northward to a smaller clearing. Four blackhawk helicopters thundered in low quickly, gently alighting upon the ground. "Ambassador and the wounded get priority!" The Captain shouted as he set the ambassador down inside the helicopter. "Form a perimeter around the clearing until we can evac!" The men scattered to the edge of the woods, setting up machine guns and watching the treeline as the first helicopter carrying the ambassador and the wounded. More helicopters arrived and began evacuating the soldiers, but the helicopter carrying the ambassador darted quickly in its convoluted pattern around the pockets of violence. It soon was over the sea, where it was met by a pair of Air-Superiority fighters. The helicopter increased its altitude as it left the island and approached the Siapian fleet.

On the island, the soldiers maintained their tight circle as the rest of the helicopters touched down and men began to be evacuated. "Where's our man with the blackbox?" "Sir! He's the one that took crossfire and fell back near the crash site! Should we go back and get him?" "Negative! Hold out here until we can all evacuate! Our mission is now to get outta here alive!"

The situation went from bad to worse. The radars on the helicopters detected a lot of incoming missiles fired from a ship towards a land target and followed the missiles both on radar and visually while requesting assistance from the Skriftemål. The assistance came in the form of two F-43A Wasp tactical fighters being scrambled and sent towards the area the helicopters were in. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be in the area for another eleven minutes at the earliest.

The helicopters dropped even lower, flying just a few centimeters over the treetops of the jungle-covered island. The chainguns of the two attack helicopters sweeped from one side to the other, ready to unleash unholy hell upon anyone threatening the Cottish flight while the two Merlins flew fast and low towards the crash-site. The radars of the helicopters picked up a lot of activity in the air over the believed crashsite which was twenty kilometers out. While the Rangers prepared themselves for leaving the helicopters and retrieving the diplomat, the pilot of the lead Cottish helicopter, a Merlin, went out on the open emergency channel that every pilot was obligated to listen to.

"This is Lobo flight of the Royal Cottish Navy. I repeat, this is Lobo flight of the Royal Cottish Navy. We are inbound from the northwest with four helicopters to retrieve our diplomat. Please hold your fire as we wish you no harm. We shall only engage targets if engaged ourselves. I repeat, this is Lobo flight of the Royal Cottish Navy, inbound to retrieve crashed diplomat."

While he said those words, the four helicopters slowed to sixty knots with the two Stalkers moving forward to protect the two Merlins with their jammers and decoy flares and chaff. All of the helicopters were armored enough to be able to withstand up to 15.5mm rounds (Merlins)/ 23mm rounds (Stalker), so the pilots felt relatively safe from small-arms fire. Still, they wanted to take no chances.

OOC:
O-K... Time for me to try and catch up ICly to everyone...

PROHT Intellegence Agency
It took awhile for the analists to figure out Agent Mendez AKA Sgt Mendez AKA Ambassador Igor Ranski. Firstly it was when ther delegate he was supposed to protect went missing on a flight, then a track revieled that Agent Mendez was on the same plane; a plane trip that would normally be forbidden to him and it was immediately assumed he was trying to defect with vital government secrets; that cuold not be tolerated...

Task Force 2, within 24 hrs of crash
was already offshore of the last known location of the plane, and was sending 10 SAR utility planes and 5 helicopters. They had yet to find the plane. Because they where looking in the wrong place, 100 miles off to be exact.

The political situation was on a hair trigger.

The next day the choppers found a clearing, but no plane.

The 5 choppers then rapidly deployed a heavy ground unit of 150 men, 3 trucks, and 3 heavy mortars, plus additional equipment to find the defecting agent, it was looking pretty grim. They would have to comb the area until they found the Agent, a former Matrine, and a member of PROHT's Police (SOC), which was a euphism for special agent, he could kill very qiuickly, and most likely already has, their job would be to find him first.

The task force, however, had to pull out to asstst in defending PROHT mainland (force constitutes 20% of the fleet). They would have to walk out.

Agent Mendez, day of crash
He was stooping over a recently decesased air marshal, and picked up his gun, he would have to be more careful if he planned to survive this trial.

He wasn't even supposed to be on the plane, he only boarded it to escape the authorities, who really wouldn't understand why assasinating their president was for the better of their country, at least that was what the orders told him, but the more he thought about it, the more it looked like he had been played as a fool.

He had to move if he wanted to live, because he would soon be hunted down like a dog for what he did... he didn't want to dwell on the thought of killing someone he wasn't supposed to, it would make him look... unproffesional.

Before his most recent mission he had gone by many names, Sgt Mendez of the PROHT Marines, then Lt Mendez of Police (SOC), then finaly an intellegence agent with his most common cover as an ambassador, which provided the ever handy cover of diplomatic immunity. He boarded the plane under the name of "Ambassador Igor Ransky".

All he would have to do is not get caught by any foriegners.
he was reletively in good health, he knew exactly what to do to minimize his injuries, and placed himself near the middle of the plane, right next to the now dead air marshal, couldn't have people walking around telling sories of a man who escaped the planecrash almost ubscathed now can we? Especially one wanted for mass murder...

He stabalised what injuries he had, and clawed his way out of the clearing, and into a tree with the aid of some salvaged cargo strap as a winch, he then secured himself and tangled himself to the tree and hung limp from the tree, then passed out, if anybody looked, they would assume he was dead, fell out of the plane with the cargo net, and got tangled in the tree.

The next morning he awoke to tgh esound of SAR helicopters, and that afternoonm he heard gunfire, and saw a large number of explosions in the clearing the plane was in. "Glad I left when I could, looks like they are more interested in killing than saving" he thought to himself. lightly touching the pistol he had hidden behind his back, every so often he noted a sniper plunkinga at another group of SAR workers, too bad he couldn't shoot him, that snipier made him uneasy. He found it better for the forces to fight with themselves, since none of them looked or spoke like PROHT troops, he was not inclined to save their lives at the risk of himself.

OOC
I'm sorry that my guy is slightly mobile, but I had to get him out of the clearing without direct intervention of my SAR ops to keep this working.

And from the looks of it, he isn't gouing to be moving from now on under his own power, lost a lot of blood...

''Black Hawk this is the Frenzian Carrier Liberty, land on our carrier deck so we may ensure that your man is not the one who caused the aircraft to crash.''

"This is Siapian Combat Search and Rescue Wing Number One, we have received your request. We have men in critical condition who will not survive if they do not receive immediate medical treatment. We will comply provided that our men will receive immediate medical attention."

On the island...

The Epsilon Captain looked at the Exponent Captain. "Captain, If I understand this correctly, you humiliate my men, you deliberately impede attempts to rescue injured and unarmed foreign nationals, you engage enemy forces with reckless disregard, possibly igniting a massive international incident, and to top that off, you murder an unarmed non-hostile, who happens to be a high-ranking officer in the government of another nation?" The Epsilons manning that edge of the forest stared at the remaining ten men with contempt. "Soldier, in my personal opinion, I'd rather burn in hell than see you leave this island. As an officer of the Siapian Intelligence Network, a military intelligence agency, I am bound by Siapian military convention. Due to your questionable "methods" on this island, we have reason to fear that aiding you would warrant hostile intervention from other nations involved. That being said, Siapian military convention obliges me not to abandon non-hostiles in a dangerous environment." Another blackhawk touched down with medics who began to tend to the wounded soldiers. "If you wish for evacuation from this island, I will be required to take you and your men as Prisoners Of War. We will need to confiscate your weapons and restrain you as necessary. Your ambassador will be immediately returned to your nation, and you will be held under Siapian custody until all forces are widthdrawn from this theater of operations, or until a diplomatic resolution is worked out. The Epsilons kept their rifles trained on the Exponent troops. The Captain took the Exponent ambassador to the blackhawk helicopter several meters away. The ambassador was loaded on with the wounded Siapian troops, medics, and handpicked men the captain chose to evacuate first. The Blackhawk took off and thundered low and fast over the ocean toward the Eyrenstrong. The Epsilons collected the prisoner's weapons as a blackhawk and a CH-47 touched down. The captain and the Epsilons loaded the prisoners onto the chinook, and the remainder of the Epsilons boarded the blackhawk. When the ambassador arrived on the Eyrenstrong, he was immediately visited by medics who checked to make sure he was unharmed. He was then offered use of the Admiral's quarter's, while below deck a small, sleek silver aircraft was being fueled up. The aircraft itself had no weapons, save a complicated array of chaff rockets and electronic countermeasure systems. A corporal barked into the intercom, "Admiral, the ambassador's transportation has been arranged." In the comms office, the admiral barked at the comms officer, "Report the situation to Esmund, And prepare a message for the Exponent government."

Chancellor Blackhelm,

The Exponent ambassador has been recovered safely. We are prepared to airlift him to your nation if you could provide us with an airport you'd like him to be taken to. Unfortunatley, due to the fighting on the ground between Pudite forces and the Exponent soldiers, we were forced to take your soldiers as Prisoners of War. We could not leave your men to die, yet we cannot afford to attract Pudite hostilities. We wish to arrange a diplomatic meeting so we can discuss their release and how this situation on the island should be handled. For the time being, the men will be held in the brig of the frigate Kemkar, until they can be transported to Siap. We assure you that your men will be provided with food, water, shelter, medical attention and reasonable comfort. Under Siapian Military Convention, you are allowed to have an independant humanitarian organization or a civilian member of your government visit your men. Also, your men will be given means to contact your government and their families. I apologize that we cannot meet under better circumstances.

-Admiral Dobenicz

The CH-47 set down aboard the Kemkar, and the Exponent soldiers were led off. They were first visited by medics to be checked for injuries and treated accordingly. After that, they were taken to the brig. Food and water and tobacco was made available to the soldiers. They would remain there until the next supply boat came, after which they would be taken to the Siapian mainland.

I have spoken with the crew of the Eyrenstrong and we feel it would be best if you did provide us with a fighter escort. The F-3 Officer transport vehicle will be meeting a mid-air refueling aircraft at the following coordinates. After the refueling, our fighters can pull off and your planes can continue the escort duties. If possible, I would like to arrange the diplomatic talks in our capitol, Esmund. Your soldiers are presently in good condition. The Kemkar has been assigned to return home, and its duties will be taken over by another frigate of a similar class. The Kemkar will return to Siap in approxamitely two weeks' time. I look forward to meeting with you.

''Understood, anyone needing medical attention we be sent to the medic room.''

A small part of the flight deck was prepared for the landing of the Black Hawks.4 Medical Officers rolled a stretcher out onto the flight deck. When the Black Hawk touched down they would load him on the stretcher and take him to the sick bay.

Back at the Crash Site

The two fire teams walked over to the crash site. One of the fire teams plus the rest of the men that stayed back formed a perimeter, using old plane wreckage as cover. The commander Radioed in for two CH-46 helicopters and they took off of the ships decks, escorted by 5 F/A-18s.

''Sir,I think I found him.''

The man was comparing a picture given to him to help identify the man.

''Thats him,I need a medic.''

Two medics rushed over and with help, pulled him from the wreckage. He was unconscious, had two broken legs, and various upper body injuries as well as severe head trauma. The medics stabilized him, loaded him on a drag bag and waited for the helicopters. The rest of the men were looking for the aircraft's black box,but could not find it.The commander began walking around, checking the other diplomats, they could not be taken right away but as soon as the Frenzian diplomat was on the ship it would be ok.

"This is CSAR One, have been requested to touch down on Carrier Liberty. Forces here seem friendly. If hostile, we will radio 'Almighty'." The voice came back over the encrypted line. "Roger. Upon call for 'Almighty', we will sink that craft." The blackhawk gently touched down on the deck. The men carried the soldiers who could not walk were carried towards the medics. After a moment, a medic pulled ambassador Kesson, whose left leg was tied to a splint, out of the helicopter and helped him limp toward the Frenzian soldiers. Wincing from his pain, the ambassador still managed to perform the necessary niceities. "Good afternoon, sir, my name is William Kesson of the Siapian Diplomatic Corps. My sincerest apologies, but it has been determined that we must detain your diplomat as well, to insure that he was not the terrorist that started this mayhem. Again, my deepest apologies. When you receive this, he will already have been transferred to Esmund Air Force Base. He will be detained in the Officers' Compound, and will be given the same rights as the men we took prisoner. If you wish to help us expedite the process, you could help recover the blackbox, which was lost in the process of evacuating our men. "Somebody's airborne make a bad landing?"
"Maybe. He's still got a heat signature."

"Either that or somebody built a campfire inside of him. Put me on the winch and lower me down. Its still too hot at the crash site to land. Maybe this guy will have some intel on whats going on with the terrorist." The CSAR medics weren't too concerned with being shot down, with the giant red cross on the side of the helicopter. Mendez was puzzled by the medic's question.

"Why would I know where they are? I'm just guessing their proximity. They tend to keep their men on a tight leash, especially when one goes missing. I suggest you spare your government a lot of trouble if you simply contacted them and forked me over."

"My safety does not concern you, in fact, by picking me up you just became another target. By the way, what country are you representing?"

He then pulls out a small box, smirks a little, and changes the subject.

"Heh, I forgot I had this, a little parting gift before I boarded the plane. It's a shoe polishing kit."

Ironicly, he wasn't lying, it was the dead letter drop container he was given, inside it had a note ordering him to assasinate the president of Maximillia (a recently dead country in my region).

The letter - for practical reasons - was removed and burned before undergoing the mission.

It was pretty good knowledge that PROHT and Emporer Pudu had worked out a stable yet fragile peace in a contested area, it was also good knowledge that ANY hostilities between the two nations could easily bring them to war.

In order to prevent themselves from being blamed for any transgecians against the Pudites, PROHT forces had moved fairly catously and had set up a decent camp to wait until most of the squabbling had stopped. That way it would be all the more difficult for anyone to claim they were ambushed by a troop encampment.

What they found where a number of dead bodies, most of them where passengers, one of them - and of great interest - was an air marshal, they found him under a piece of wreckage in a trunk with a bullet hole through his head and his gun missing.

"My god... what happened here?"

More of the story was revieled when they saw a trail dragged through the ground to a tree, in that ree they found a cargo net. But no live delegates. They also found what remained of the black box some distance away from the main wreck wgere the tail landed, otherwise intact, the circuts had been fried, it was useless.

To an aide:
"Agent Mendez has gotten away, inform the PROHT ministry along secure lines that Agent Mendez survived his own death. All this just to defect? It just doesn't add up..."

Hmm, so now it is in a pack less than 1000 meters from the crash site, but within the clearing. I'd be able to find it while my company looked over the bodies in search for Agent Mendez. (PROHT also tends to have sticky fingers when it comes to technology, such as NVGs, (potential) enemy radios with automated encrypters etc.)

I RPed it being busted and fried because I didn't want to overstep my bounds and infringe upon the terrorists actions on the plane. Now get to add a bullet through it for good measure! Thank you, you just made that bit easier.

But I will RP an investigation of the crash site anyways as soon as either I get a telegram/post from Frenzia on what I would find at the crash, since I'll assume he knows what happened (He RPed the explosion and crash, not to mention picked the terrorist) since it his plane, and therefore any damage suffered to it by any action by the terrorist would be of his choosing.

I suggest Frenzia censor who did what. What I do know is that Agent Mendez shot the air marshal, and suffered minor injuries from the crash; while almost everybody else was unconcious. And Siap's delegate was stuck in the bathroom (how he would know it was a dining cart on the other side of the door is anybody's guess).
