Major Naval Contract Up For Grabs

The Aeson
14-05-2006, 18:59
The Holy Empire of The Aeson is seeking a new ship to serve as a last ditch governmental seat, in case of the capital being overrun.

Here are the requirements

Must be able to hold fifty people in addition to full crew complement
Must be able to coordinate naval, infantry, armored, air force, and civilian movements.
Must be able to go for at least eight months without putting into port. That means for water, food, power and ammunition.
Must provide a secure base of government. That mean being able to defend against naval, air, or submarine attacks.
Must be below one trillion dollars in price.

We have a few questions as to the listed requirements:
1: What would be the projected percentage of combat time of the eight months?
2. How many escort vessels shall be assigned to the vessel?
3. To what extent is coordination intended?
4. Is it to be escorted by a carrier, or does it need it's own aviation facilities?
4B. If it needs it's own aviation facitilies, how many planes and how many helicopters are requested?

Theoretically i could offer you a corvette/frigate than could do most of that but i think i would be correct in assuming you are looking for soemthing in the Dreadnought kind of range (ie 300,000ton plus with big guns and lots of other weapons).

1. We expect a low combat rate, not more than 10%, but would like to plan for at least 25%.
2. We are planning to assign a submarine attack pack, at least two battleships and a cruiser, along with the requisite resupply ships.
3. Top level coordination of whatever millitary remains at that point (Which, since this will probably only be used if the capital is overrun will almost certainly not be the full Aesonic millitary)
4. No carrier.
4b. It needs to be able to support two transport helicopters and three millitary concepts.

It doesn't need to be the meanest ship on the sea, but it needs to be powerful enough to discourage attack.

How secure must it be?
The Aeson

It needs to be able to turn back any small attack and, with the help of the escorts, most medium attacks. I also want it to able to outrun some of the things it can't outgun.

Hmm....it depends.

Our naval systems can defend against anything up to an aggravated duck. We haven't discovered how to counter that yet. Are you interested?

I'm afraid not. This is going to be where the top officials in my government are located.

Ah. You must want our TH-5 Kamikaze Model. Guarenteed to fry anything in and 100 feet outside the ship.

Our engineers have devoloped a statistical model that should meet the requested requirements. Should it be approved, and the funding paid, it will be put into production.

Displacement:
Standard: 43,000 tons
Fully Loaded: 54,500 tones

Dimensions:
Length: 260.4 m
Beam: 31.2 m
Draft: 10.9 m

Speed: 31 knots
Crew: 1,002
Powerplant: 3 KN-3 water pressurized nuclear reactors
Drive: 3 screws

Armour:
Belt: 11.1 in
Bulkheads: 10.3 in
Barbettes: 9.6 to 15.3 in
Turrets: 17.7 in
Decks: 7.2 in

Armaments:
Guns: 10 AK-360 30mm rotary cannons as the CIWS system
1 twin 130mm AK-130
Missiles: 4 twin retractable SA-N-4 Gecko Surface-to-air missile launchers
12 VLS(Vertical Launch Systems) for SS-N-19 Shipwreck Surface-to-surface
missiles
Anti-Sub: 8 533 mm torpedo tubes

It has two helipads and sufficiant space for the request number, and types of helicopters as well as a C3I Stratigic Processing Computer system.

It looks good. I'd like some sort of anti-submarine weapon if possible. How much would it cost?
Theao

A fully built vessel would cost two hundred billion, while a jointly built one's cost would run at one hundred and twnety-five billion, while the blueprints would cost fourty-three billion.
