Feminist Protests Erupt in Violence

Over 200,000 women took to the streets after the Government forcibly dissolved the Women's Feminist Union. Many were calling for legalization of Abortion (which is currently illegal in all forms), equal pay (which is not guarenteed by law, though encouraged.). Some also complained of how the People's Supreme Court banned the use of the Battered Women's Syndrome.

Members of the newly formed People's Defense Squadron, and the older People's Storm Division sallied out to contain the protests.

What happened later, we're not sure, but the scene erupted in a firefight. A large street battle rages on between Feminist Protestors and members of the PDS and PSD on. Through what we know of body counts, we have estimated 14,000+ Feminist protestors are dead, and 300 PSD and PDS members have died.

In response to the wanton killing of many feminists, the Armed Republic of Mer des Ennuis condones the stance of the government of Dongara against abortion and the Battered Woman Defence. However, we condemn the actual killing, as forced labor is a much better way to deal with political dissidents.

Maybe you should have taken the time to listen to the feminist protestors, rather than engaging in a massacre. all they want is equality, as well as for their specific needs to be fulfiilled. We hope in the future you will listen to what your women have to say. What would you do if there was a mens masculinity protest or something like that?

News Update:

Two hours ago, Dongarian Police Agencies and Paramilitary organizations organized their efforts to fight Feminist protestors in the streets. Along with military advisors, a full-scale offensive has been launched. 200 Dongarians members of the PDS, the PSD, and the PAP have been killed, but they estimate that 41,000+ protestors are dead, with 17,000 captured.

We are willingly to offer free passage to any women you may have incarcerated with at least a masters degree. This would also apply to women who may have been suspected of political activities. We will pay for passage. This would be in lieu of you having to incarcerate so many people. Prisons are expensive. They would come to the Commonalitarianism if they wished too.

Although internal affairs are your own business, peacekeeping troops will be deployed if the bloodshed continues. The Monotheistic Republic of Jagada condemns neither the assault upon the women or the refusal of abortion and other rights. Nay, we are not women haters or religious oppressors--we are, however, clear thinkers and we will not rush to condemn this. Condemnation isn't something to be thrown around--it is a tool of the State and should be used like a tool.

I ask you, did these Feminists do something to provoke an attack from the People's Defende Squadron? The reports indicate a firefight broke out--to have a fire fight, both sides needs to have weapons. This would open the possibility that during this protest, when the PDS and the PSD were simply trying to contain the protest and keep it from turning violent that a feminist from the crowd opened fire. In response the police opened fire--more women with guns in the crowd returned fire. Thus having the situtation we are in now.

Please, think before you condemn. The Monotheistic Republic asks that Dongara conduct an investigation to find out what exactly happened.

The death toll of the Feminists have already risen to 103,000+ according to PRD estimates. More than 47,000 have been captured according to the same source. The death toll of members of the PAP, the PSD, and the PDS has spiked to 850. Most Feminist protestors are armed with crude weapons such as bats, molotov cocktails, pipes, rocks, and etc.

And you decide to restore order by mercilessly slaughtering them? Well armed troops can easily subdue protesters armed with such crude weapons without that much bloodshed. 103,000+ is an unacceptable number of dead!

While the we recognize the right of the Government of Dongara to reasonably arrest and disperse protestors for the safety of the public at large, we are very much concered by the mounting death toll stemming from the continuing violence in Dongara, and are most concered about the treatment of currently detained protestors.

With the permission of the the Government of the People's Republic of Dongara, we would like to dispatch a diplomatic envoy to your nation to observe the conditions of the currently detained, as well as the nature of the current government operations to arrest the protestors. The findings of our envoy would be reported to the international community at large, where they may serve to clarify the situation, and perhaps put certain concerns to rest.

It appears you have no police training of any kind. You can send your riot police for training from us. We will teach the following for a fee. Three month training core course $6000 per riot police. A core of 1000 police will be able to train your other police. We also ask you to consider registering your protests. Your actions were excessive and out of control. We have regular violent riots in the Commonalitarianism. Our police are more than able to handle large scale riots. A 1000 properly trained police can disperse a crowd of 20,000 with no problem. Your police need better training.

1) How to use riot gases and grenades-- tear gas, comatic gas, mace, pepper spray, flash bangs, dye grenades.
2) How to disperse crowds-- loud speakers, water cannons, barrier foam, frictionless goop, subsonics. Fighting formations.
3) Police armor-- riot shields, helmets, combat leathers--leather with a teflon or spider silk lining, gas masks.
4) Subdual techniques-- seizing, wrestling, and grappling, handcuffing, search of prisoners. Multiple officer take downs.
5) Riot sticks and shock batons.
6) Setting up temporary barriers and fenced in areas. Also holding pens for rioters-- temporary prisons.
7) Prisoner transport.
8) Using police dogs and horses for crowd control.
9) Riot fire arms-- rubber bullets, bean bag guns, shock bullets (a rubber bullet with taser core), automatic shotguns in case of need to kill.
10) Identifying and separating subversives and dangerous individuals in a crowd-- who is likely to cause violence.

We further ask again to send the feminists who are causing trouble to us if they are interested. We will repatriate the better educated individuals into our society, those with a bachelors degree and higher.

Further we offer to hold talks in our capital city, Liberty Arcology between the feminists and your government.

Off topic, just a general comment OOC: We also ask why there isn't general insurrection-- feminism covers the whole range of women, many would be married about 1/3 to 1/2 and about 1/4 to 1/2 of the women might have had children. It would probably cause much more widespread riots. Your wife dies or someone in your family suddenly loses a parent and you don't go berserk.

The Free Lands of 23Eris soundly condemns the actions of the Dongaran Government. Until such time as the government of that nation learns respect for women and begins to treat them as equals in society any and all political and economic relations are prohibited between our nations.

We urge you to reconsider your stance and to engage in a dialogue with the people your government has oppressed to the point that they would take arms against you.

Our offer is to send you supplies and possibly, if need be, men to help keep the peace untill a peace agreement is made. This will at this point be free, but we at some point will charge a yearly fee so that we can recieve reembersed for our sevices yet it will not damage your econamy as much.

The Biotopian government strongly condemns the use of political violence in Dongara and the continuing injustice of the anti-egalitarian suppression of women’s rights and the women’s liberation movement. Furthermore the inbalance of 14,000 deaths amongst protesters and 300 amongst members of the security forces is indicative of either a gross statistical manipulation by the government or telling of understating a bloody and brutal repression. The Biotopian government offers humanitarian refugee status to any person under threat of violence or repression due to these continuing events should they seek it. The government of Biotopia hereby initiatives a complete trade embargo against Dongara until we are satisfied that universal Humane Rights are reinstated.
