Not so much a war;
More a Naval Incident getting out of hand.... maybe a lightly escorted Hydrological Research craft strays into a countries national waters, you attack me, my escort(s) attack back, a "Diplomatic Crisis" forms back at home.
Then, it would end with both parties repaying each other for damages, then making friends to "Ensure such things don't happen again".
The escorts would probably be a couple of Corvettes, or a Frigate and a Destroyer, depending "how far from home" it was RP'd.
I'd like to do a "proper" RP, preferably with someone who has experiance.
Any takers?
I'm up for that, The Infinite Empire is always more than happy to fire on any vessel which enters Imperial waters.

That would be cool.
How far shall we say your waters are from mine?
'cuz it'll help keep it all in perspective and such.
Macaronia and Raviolia, I'd like to do it with you, but seeing as we#re both members of the GASN, it would be kinda wierd, after all, no one is going to fire on their own allies.

Cool... I havn't heard from Yallak since that post, so I guess if he doesn't reply in the next 12 hours he's either forgotten, or decided that he couldn't be bothered.....
Shall we (me and you) Iron out the OOC things, like what sorta ships we'll field (that way we can focus on the RP aspect, rather than "ZOMFG MY SHIPS LIEK PWNS JO"), and stuff, then allowing Yallak to get back into it later on....

Well my nation is in terms of the real world in Northeastern Europe (with its coastline on the baltic sea), where abouts is yours? (If you've never really though about it we can just say our waters are some distance apart.)

This should be interesting, especially given the fact that Sarzonia and I have friendly relations with Northford....
Really? Then things may indeed get interesting.

Certainly, if it wasn't "interesting", I'd be a little dissappointed...
That said, I'd like it to end nicely, as in:
Then, it would end with both parties repaying each other for damages, then making friends to "Ensure such things don't happen again".
So, Yallak, if we say I'm about 2 weeks form you, via water?
If that's the case, I'll be deploying a hydrographical ship similar to ( http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/server.php?show=nav.1891 ), along with a Pickering Class Corvette and a Samuel B. Roberts-class AA destroyer. The Survey Ship is an actual RL class of ship, and the escorts are produced by Sarzonia.

I'm telling you all this OOCly, just to help you keep it all in perspective; I'd appreciate it if you didn't just work all that out ICly.
Franberry, if you want to jump in halfway through, feel free.
Is there anything that's worth mentioning before I start the IC posts?

Thats fine.

Don't worry - i wont be using anything said OOC in the RP.

Nothing comes to mind, only that as Yallakian ships are excessively armed and armoured i'll probably only have one destroyer in the RP initially.

I've got the first IC bit finished and ready to post? You want me to post it here, or do another thread?

NAVAL WASTE
Protests were outside both Redbridge and Richmond this morning, following the order of a Trireme-Class Command Ship.
In a report leaked to the press, it has become apparent that the Commonwealth Navy has been using its budget to pay for so far unconfirmed number of luxury yachts for official use, an expense not covered by the official mandate under which the navy operates.
The Yachts, named Trireme-Class Command Ships by the shipyards which built them (based in Van Luxemburg) are, arguably, one of the most luxurious ships on he market today. Being able to accommodate over 100 guests comfortably, and entertain them with a vast array of facilities, ranging from an onboard pool/Jacuzzi to a “mini-cinema”.
With facilities such as this, it is little wonder as to why the admiralty wants such a craft. The question, left in many taxpayers minds, however, is whether or not the Northfordian Navy * needs * such a ship. Despite it’s appearance, and it’s luxury, it really is debatable on the “war winning” ability of it. It is unarmoured, and relatively unarmed, a target for Submarines, and, of course air strikes.
Another issue, although contentious, is regarding the new roles that the Pickering class corvette is presently fufilling. The corvettes, designed and made in Portland, Sarzonia, are to be the primary escort ships for a new hydrological mission. The mission, the first international task given to the navy, will be primary surveying the ocean bed and gathering data for the first generation of Northfordian made maps and charts. While there has been other maps (international) on the market for many years, the Government has deemed it an important task for the navy, both to see whether the recent purchases are suitable for peacetime operations, and to simply “get some use out of them” before the design becomes obsolete in the Incorporated Sarzonian Navy, a the primary “World Power” that uses the same ships as Northford ( OOC: as they are Sarzonian designs…).
The first of such hydrological missions is to be launched next week. Consisting of the native designed and built NNS (Northfordian Naval Ship) Charlotte Ryan, hydrological survey ship, the Corvette, the NNS Priceless, and the Destroyer NNS Beauty…
Admiral Oaks looked over the article, “Here, Barns, you’re ship makes a mention, look”, he stated, passing the old newspaper over to his college, “it’s a couple of days out of date, but its still a nice read”.
Captain Barnes, of the Priceless, agreed, “Oh yes, that it is. I quote, ‘The Priceless is one of the smallest ships in the Northfordian navy, and there are serious doubts about it’s ability in the upcoming mission’. It’s almost laughable.”
“Damm right, Barnes. If I managed to meet with up Pythogria in our little tin pot ship, then you’ll be able to do this in the new Corvettes”, he paused, “besides, if you don’t do it, you’ll miss out on that cushy little desk job that will be waiting for you after it’s over.”
Barnes laughed. “That thing’s 3 day’s old, Oaks… wow… to think in another three day’s I’ll be in open sea”
“Yeh”
--
3 days later, the Priceless was indeed on its way to open sea. After a lavish launching ceremony, the Priceless was out of Red Bridge and steaming along.
Cool, i like the way you wrote that article, its good.
Lets put it in a new thread though (where we'll RP) and we can keep this one for any OOC posting.

I'm sorting out the second part now.... I'll pop you the link when it's all up.
I'm going to keep it mostly "narrative" until the ship actually does anything. If you'd like to hear more about the ship's action's just say so.

Alright, i'll write one tonight when i get home from work.
Good luck with yur exams!

It's not really that great, but it's not fair for me to keep you waiting like this.
I'll do a better one next post, once I've got my maths exam out of the way (C1 and C2, British AS levels) I'll be able to pay more attention.
