UESM has developed a class of AAW Frigates
the Amsterdam class was intended as a low technology counterpart.
The Primary mission was ASW protection of amphibious merchant ship convoys
And underway replenishment groups, but strict limits are going to be place on cost and displacement and manpower. They are were intended to be built in smaller yards so efforts are going to be made to use simple techniques ,for example, by using flat panels wherever possible and keeping internal passageways straight. The propulsion was also simplified, by using two gas turbines to drive one propeller.

Power Plant 2 - Magneto hydrodynamic Gas turbines
1 shaft, 61,000 shaft horsepower total.
Length 453 feet (135.9 meters)
Displacement 4,100 tons (full load)
