Dephire vs. Deserted Territories

Dephire
11-05-2006, 02:30
Over the past few weeks, Dephire and Deserted Territories have been fighting over a large five-thousand square mile strip of land full of profitable resources. The debates of who shall process this land has now escalated to a war between the two Nations.

Technical Rules:

15% of Total Population is Your limit on Troops.
Your Budgets for Your Defence are Included.*
No WMD's. (Weapons of Mass Destruction**)
We will use NSEconomy as a basis for the stats.
Also, please put down the number of troops and your budget down as an inclusionary for your first post...It kinda helps the rest of us.

(*So if it says that you spend 35% of your budget in the Defense department, and your total budget is about 25 Trillion, then you can spend at least 8.5 trillion dollars on your Troops. Just so you can know, 8.5 Trillion is exceptionally greater than the United States' total budget all together!)
(**Sub-Nuclear weaponary is not included as a WMD.)

Dictatorship of Dephire's Statistics:

Troop Number: 210,300,000
Budget: 8,377,043,639,580
Influence: Superpower

Also keep in mind that you may be checked for accuracy.

The land that this war is based upon is a 100 miles by 50 miles semi-rectangular spit of land. There is a large pine forest along the northern edge. Mountains form the boundary between the southern edge and Dephire. (Which means that the forest is the border between Deserted Territories and the strip of land.) On the Eastern and Western sides are oceans, and running through the center is a river. (It is not deep enough for large naval ships, or submarines.) The river is about 2-3 miles wide and it runs from one ocean to the other. There is a small desert in the South west that runs through the mountains and into Dephire. This Desert reaches an average high of 125 Degrees Fareinheit (SP?). It currently is snowing in the North, which means it's raining in the south.
Dephire's capital is Alexandria.
I am Alexander, Commander-in-Chief of Dephire.

OOC: I take it that your infulence is taken from your nation's homepage?

So that means I have 135,750,000 soldiers if I went in?

Too bad I'm not.

OOC: Well, fortunately for you, Mountains block most of my northern border. Since only trees block yours, you have a better advantage. I would either have to take to water, to air, or go through the bloody desert. GRR. TOO HOT! Of course...we may have to expand the battleground just a bit to fit everyone inside. That's if anyone shows up. I certainly hope they do.

IC:

Even with the advantage of numbers on their side, the Dephirian forces knew it in their hearts that this could still be a long battle. The opposition would break upon the mountains like water on rock. That's the only terrain advantage Dephire had against the enemy. The mountains were too high for any normal aircraft to go over. Alexander would have to manipulate his forces to go around...or under the mountains, which would not be a problem. (Yes I used double-negatives.)
"General Adams. Send only a few of the troops through the desert. The rest you can try sneaking in under the mountains. If possible, try to find a passage through the mountains."
-Said Alexander.-
"Order Confirmed, Sir!"
-replied the General of the Army.-
"Admiral Scarr. Direct the ships to guard the mouths of the Heiness River."
"Yes sir."
-Replied the Admiral of the Naval Fleet.-
"And you, Admiral Vega. Get some of your Aces to find an air route through those mountains. If you have to, blow them up. Of course you first need to notify any of our troops that are still in them.
"Wait...blow up our own planes?"
"NO! THE MOUNTAINS!"
"OH. Aye sir."

OOC: I hope you know that your troop limits will be a majority of its troops as logistics personnel. The number also includes air force and naval crews and such.

DT's armed forces set out into the forest bordering their homeland as they headed to intercept the enemy. Due to DT seriuos disadvantage in numbers, all forces went through a short guerilla tactics traing camp. Currently the national militia was undergoing a longer and more sustained traing. They were expected to leave for the battlefield in two weeks.

Yes I am keeping my air/naval forces in check. When I have more time, I will post the crew sizes.

IC:

The war was still not full scale...but battles are always enevitable.

Today the national militia was released from training. in small bands they made their way to the far off mountain range where they would set their traps.

-A scout returned from his mission.-
"Sir, they are heading towards the mountains."
"Bring them down..."
-Tactical bombers closed all paths. Now DT was forced to go around as well.-

As the militia groups reached the mountains, they realized the passes they planned to use were blown shut. All over the country side groups attempted to climb, excavate, and walk around the mountain.

-Dephirian bombers were still in the air navigating the moutains.-
"Sir, we got climbers."
"Open up on them..."
-Bombs reduced everything short of pebbles.-

***OFFICIAL PROCLIMATION***
TO: All Involved
FROM: Shazbotdom Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Pure Socialist Holy empire of Shazbotdom has recently become aware of this small conflict. While we don't know the entirety of the reason for this, we will be watching the events of this "skirmish" unfold as time goes on. If for some reason the Emperor decides that intervention is needed, we will dispatch a contingent of peacekeeping troops to protect the innocent civilians of whichever nation. Most likely the contingent of peacekeeping troops will be roughly 10 Divisions from 1 Company, but that will be decided at a later date by the Ministry of the Marine Corps.

The militia was bombed again. Some of them were killed, some got away. But not too many died as they were spred out over the whole mountain side. They now took caution, and avoided being seen from the air.

"Sir. We have tangos spotted in the mountains."
"Use the artillery. Destroy those mountains."

-Over the next few days and nights, the mountains were barraged by artillery and cannon fire from naval and land battalions. Bombers bombarded the mountains at every possible chance.-

The DT positions were now under caonstant bombardment. But they continued to make their way around, suffering limited casualties.

-finally, giant specially designed B-52 class bombers dropped large pines into the remaining rubble. Behind them was a small squadron of F-18 superhornets armed with napalm bombs. The night sky was lit up for weeks.-
