What Do You Mean We Don't Have An Anthem?

The Horde Of Doom
11-05-2006, 00:25
After an unsettling football game, where when asked to sing the national anthem and noone knew what it was, the County Council went about choosing a song.

Baro Foro forbid any of his songs to be used, citing that they were songs of revolution, and the song must reflect the order now gained. Debates began to rage as to what song should be used. At first a Gypsy song was purposed, but the southern counties rejected this. "The culture of the Horde of Doom is not just gypsy culture!" proclaimed one angry citizen.

A desert cowboy tune was proposed by the southern counties, and rejected by the northern Gypsys. Finally, a song was suggested by a representitive from Buxton. While the others were arguing, he hadn written a new tune.

Way down upon the Tawny River, Far, far away,
There's where my heart is yearning ever,
There's where the old folks stay.
All up and down the whole creation, Sadly I roam,
Still longing for the old plantation, And for the old folks at home.

Chorus: All the world is sad and dreary, Ev'ry where I roam.
Oh, brothers, how my heart grows weary, Far from the old folks at home.

All 'round the little farm I wandered,
When I was young;
Then many happy days I squandered,
Many the songs I sung.
When I was playing with my brothers, Happy was I,
Oh, take me to my kind old mother, There let me live and die.

Chorus: All the world is sad and dreary, Ev'ry where I roam.
Oh, brothers, how my heart grows weary, Far from the old folks at home.

One little hut among the bushes, One that I love,
Still sadly to my memory rushes, No matter where I roam.
When will I see the bees a hummin', All 'round the comb?
When will I hear the banjo strummin', Down in my good old home?

Chorus: All the world is sad and dreary, Ev'ry where I roam.
Oh, brothers, how my heart grows weary, Far from the old folks at home.

After recieving a whopping 99% majority vote from the people, Old Folks At Home has been signed into law, and has actually become a hit.
